Flash bug in Safari 5?
Every time I try and watch a flash video on Hulu or MTV or any other website and put it in full screen, it's extremely choppy and starts to lag behind the audio, but once I shrink it down to normal size that fits in the Safari window, it returns back to normal. Anyone else experience this problem, and does anyone know how to resolve it?
I'm running:
Safari 5
10.6.4
Flash 10.1 (I also tried the beta Flash Gala and still had the issues, which lead me to believe Safari 5 was the culprit)
Update 10.6.4 included an out-of-date version of FlashPlayer. Try deleting it and installing the latest one from Adobe:
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Flash forms in Safari 3.0
I just installed the new Apple Safari 3.0 for Windows. I
wanted to see how our web site would work with the new browser. I
found that flash forms do not load. All I get is a blue lego block
with question marks. I checked the plugins and there is a listing
for "Shockwave Flash" version 9.0 r45. Is there something else that
needs to be installed to make this work?
Thanks,
DonCount me on with the problem. We are running CF 7. I have
also not found anything. I did report it using the little bug in
Safari 3 and have been looking for the latest releases of the
browser. I love the browser overall (I am an apple fan) but we need
this to work. I am wondering if the problem is in how CF renders
and puts out the flash content. Some kind of meta data that is not
up to date? Have no clue however.

HT5271 How can I use flash 10x in Safari 5.1.8?
Hi I need to use the older Flash plug-in (Flash 10x) in Safari 5.1.8. Is there a way I can "force" Safari to use it?
ThanxTwo bugs, one affecting Apple's Mac platform and another attacking Microsoft's Windows, exploit certain Flash player vulnerabilities to install malware onto users' systems, reports ArsTechnica. While users of other operating systems like Linux have yet to report attacks, Adobe's advisory notes the exploit affects all platforms.
Designated as CVE-2013-0634, the first vulnerability targets the Safari and Firefox Web browsers running on OS X, and is also being used as a trojan to deploy Microsoft Word documents containing malware. For Mac users, the flaw affects Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.146 or earlier.
On March 1 Apple again blocked Flash Player for Lion and Mountain Lion:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5660
The Adobe Flash patch can be found on Adobe’s website, and users can visit this page to check if their software is the most curent version.
You should uninstall any previous version first, and repair permissions after installing the new version.
If you still get a ‘plug-ins blocked’ message:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5271
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
Extensions like Ghostery, WOT or AdBlock stop working after two or three times. Restarting the webpage in a new tab the extensions will work again for several times and then stop again. Has anybody an explanation or a workaround for this bug in Safari 5?
Remove the extensions, redownload Safari, reload the extensions.

And if you really want a better experience, use Firefox, tons more choices and possibilities there.
Firefox's "NoScript" will block the Trojan going around on websites. Best web security you can get.

Ghostery, Ad Block Plus and thousands of add-ons more have originated on Firefox. -

From what i understand i see that - Cookies are not transferred between your website and your webapp when installing the icon on the home screen (for authentication purposes for example). It was working until 6.1 and now it’s not working anymore.
Can someone please tell me if this bug will be fixed in any future release, if so the ticket number of some kind that i can track, or if there is a workaround for this issue?ios7 bookmarking web application to home screen via Safari, crashes after login and when we try to open any link inside from the icon that gets created on the home screen. How to watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari
How do I watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari?
Once you have Chrome installed, activate the Develop menu in Safari (go to Safari Preferences > Advanced > Show Develop Menu). You then will see under the Develop menu the Open Page With option and Chrome will be listed there.
So each time you open a page with Safari requiring Flash, you use that menu option to open the same page in Chrome. -
Is this a bug in Safari for iOS ??
http://www.clfsrpm.net/sample/
The control buttons above playlist display just fine in every Android, Linux, and Windows browser I have used - including Safari for Windows.
However they do not display properly in Safari for iOS as tested on my iPod (but they do display correctly in Opera Mini for iPod)
Is this a bug in Safari for iOS ??Why was this moved to "Using iPhone" ??
It is a question about Safari for iOS - not iPhone/iPod usage. -
I can't get Adobe Flash player to install in Safari 5.0.3. Please advise...
Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

Major bug in Safari 6: previous domain persists in URL bar when clicking a link
I've noticed an extremely weird and significant bug in Safari 6 / Mountain Lion:
When I'm navigating through a site, sometimes when clicking a link, Safari tries to open the corresponding URL on a previously visited site's domain instead of the current site.
For example:
First, I'm surfing on apple.com. Then, I navigate to another site, say estibot.com. On estibot.com, I click on a link that should take me to:
http://www.estibot.com/tools.html
Instead, safari takes me to http://www.apple.com/tools.html, which of course produces a 'not found' error. Nothing wrong with the link; this is purely Safari's doing.
This happens often, and apparently can happen with any site.
In other words, the domain name of a previously visited site persists in the URL, and the page that I'm trying to navigate to is added to the domain of the PREVIOUS site, not the actual site I'm using.
This is a major bug and is often rendering Safari useless for my workflow. How could a bug like this end up in the finished product?
Cheers
EsaHaving the same problem. It is randomly consistent, i.e. some links consistently get redirected to a specific domain. For example, I am experiencing this issue when using Basecamp and links being misdirected to a specific client's website. However, the criteria for why some links redirect and some do not appears random. This issue does not occur in Firefox. This leads me to believe that it is not a DNS issue. May be a Safari/DNS pair issue or solely a Safari issue. We do use an internal DNS (OS X Server) for browsing internal development wbsites which then rolls over to a public DNS. Again, this problem has never occured in Firefox and consistently occurs in Safari.
Safari Version 6.0 (7536.25)
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
On a side note...
Safari's strong-handed rewriting in the address bar as you type is crazy anoying. Or should I say "too helpful?" It seems to break the first rule of usuability: don't change the interface while the user is interacting with it.
And the unified address/search is rediculously annoying for developers who use non-complient top level domains for internal development (such as .dev)
And the new inspector seems like a huge step backwards in usuability. (debatable considering I'm probably not as advanced as some developers.) -
How to disable a flash trace in safar & opera browsers.
hi
I have installed flash player (16) debugger version for Mozilla, Now I am getting flash trace in mozilla, safari & opera. I want to disable the flash trace in safari & opera.
Please tell me how to do this.
thanks in advanceYeah, the debugger is for developers that need to write and debug Flash content. You don't want to use it for general browsing. It's much slower than the release player because of all the tracing, and it shows you everyone else's coding mistakes that didn't get fixed before they shipped (and there are a lot).
So, you'll need to uninstall and move back to a release player. What most of us do is keep the debugger in one browser (like NPAPI Flash Player for Safari/Firefox) for doing web development, and then use another browser with the release player for actually browsing the web (like Chrome). Since we're using two browsers with different plug-in architectures, we can keep them installed in parallel instead of switching back and forth.
Anyway, here's the uninstaller:
Uninstall Flash Player | Windows
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
Then just download the regular installer at:

Is it flash bug? Tween Class
I've been working on a bit big project. I've some components on the stage. There are basically 4 frames. Each frame has some components. What I've done is, I've used tween class. Workflow is something like this:
Frame 1:
--used Tween class to get fade effect for List component.
--used Tween.MOTION_FINISH event to fire an event when it is finished.
--when it is finished, applied eventListener
--on Change event, remove eventListeners and use Tween class again to get reverse fade effect.
--again used Tween.MOTION_FINISH event to fire an event when finished.
--in that evenHandler, gotoAndStop(2);
Frame 2:
//similar
Frame 3:
//similar
and so on.. now, what happens, is, if i play with my scene, sometimes tween class failed to work. sometimes it does not display List component, sometimes it displays List component with alpha 0.2. sometimes it happens with movieClip also. Is it flash bug or problem with my code?probably a coding problem. the most common error that seems like a flash bug would be to define a tween within a function body allowing flash to gc that tween, possibly before it starts and/or completes.
