Flash Builder / Flash Player / 64 bit OS issues.

Hi,
I'm  trying to compile a flex application using my flash builder, and as  soon as I hit Control+F11 I can see a browser instance (IE 8) getting  opened with a swf "loading" preloader, but nothing comes up after that  and all I can see is a blank white screen.
I've tried installing Flash Player / Flash Player ActiveX for 64 bit operating systems, but nothing worked out.
Can anyone shed some light?
Thanks,
Dave

Can anyone help me on this?

  • Adobe Creative Suite Extension builder 2 not supported in Flash Builder 4.7 64 bit

Couldn't find anywhere to submit a bug report so hopefully this is a good place.
I was able to succesfully download and install the Adobe Creative Suite Extension builder 2 into Flash Builder 4.7 with not problems.
When I click File -> New -> Creative Suite Exention Project nothing happends. I recieve no error messages just the Project wizard panel that is expected to open doesn't open.
The extension works as expected when installed into the non-beta Flash Builder 4.6 32 bit verison.
I suspect there may be an incompatibility when switching to the 64 bit version of Flash Builder.

    Hi everyone,
The problem is that Flash Builder 4.7 is not compatible with Extension Builder 2. Therefore we have provided Flash Builder 4.6 available for download, see links below.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you run into further problems.

  • Flash Builder Standalone player opens Flash CS5

Hi I have just upgraded to Flash Builder 4, and I'm running it on MAC  OSX 10.6.4. I am trying to run my projects in the standalone Flash  Player, and everytime I try to run my project Flash Builder opens Flash  CS5. I have previoulsy used Flex Builder 3, and never had this issue.  Can somone help me out with this issue?

    Hi,
Flash Builder simply tells the OS to launch the SWF when generate HTML wrapper is off.
Go to Finder, right click a swf file, choose "Get Info".
Say open with, point to a standalone Flash Player and choose "Change All".
Note: We understand this is not an ideal experience - see this post for more details: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2909868#2909868

  • Error DW030 - Can't install Adobe Flash Builder Windows 7 32 bits

    Hey everyone!
Could someone help me with this error?
    Here is the log:
Exit Code: 6 Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW030 ...   -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------  - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)    ----------- Payload: Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 4.7.0.0 {8376E54D-7232-4443-A075-7938ABA2DB1A} -----------  ERROR: DW030: Custom Action for payload Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 4.7.0.0 {8376E54D-7232-4443-A075-7938ABA2DB1A} returned error. Failing this payload.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now managed to get Flash Builder installed. Turns out it was my computer user name that caused the problem. I had a special character in my name ( the special character was ' ). I set up another user account without any special characters and installed Flash Builder using that user account and it installed without any problems.Hope this info helps.

  • Flash builder burrito to FB 4.5 issue

Have seen all the threads on updating flash builder burrito to fb 4.5 and understand that fb burrito needs to be uninstalled.  I have a mobile application almost complete and do not want to lose this work.  How can I save those files and other necessary file and still delete fb burrito.  I am upgrading to fb 4.5 standard.  Thanks

The workspace folder is usually not affected by a re-install at all. But if you want to make absolutely sure - and since it is always prudent to make regular backups of your work - the really simple way of doing it is to make a manual copy of the entire folder. The preferable way of doing it is to use a revision control system such as SVN, but in lack of that, a manual copy will do fine.

  • Flash Builder + Flash Catalyst = what for Flash?

Does the combination of Catalyst with Builder cannibalize Flash?

Hello. I am on the other end of the spectrum, vast knowledge in coding but very poor UI skills. My background is almost exclusively Microsoft making it a bit more challenging. Being brand new to Flash Builder but having used Flash 8 a bit I have learned that they really upped the coding knowledge requirements. For example on the button click event  one just gets a click event listener as opposed to a code wizard from flash that normally will do the work.
I've taught remedial programming at a business college in the past and if I had any advice it would be to commit yourself to learning some beginner coding.
For this particular product I would focus on strings, objects, events and methods. I have found some free Flash Builder ebooks searching google books or other online free ebook sites. Most of the non-google sites will allow you to download a complete PDF file.  There is much more Flexbuilder 3 content out there than Flash Builder but Flexbuilder 3 is very similar and will help.
At the end of the day, most of today's RIA tools (Flash Builder, Silverlight etc) are going to require both knowledge in design and coding.

  • Cloud keeps asking for serial after login, photooshop cc, flash builder, flash pro cc

I can't use my cloud product because it's asking for a serial, after I login with an active adobe account, assigned to a cloud seat. The Cloud account holds many seats bought few month ago. From the start, random computers/account will ask for serial and never activate.
It's really bothering hearing that adobe is forcing everybody on cloud when they can't even make the activation work everywhere, without displaying any message or reason why.
The support tel number is a Joke :
    800 443 81 58
In the country I'm living in, the national operator, the 2nd cable tel operator, the 2nd mobile phone operator won't accept this number, it doesn't even ring.
Weirdly when I sent the money transfer, from this country, it worked fine the first time.
Please inform me why my account won't activate and give me a solution

Photoshop CS6 after being replaced with CC and only after applying its first update worked.
Here, not any message said that this cloud account was compatible only with CC when i didn't event know photoshop cc existed.
Flash was installed in french, as a trial.
Here is a trace of the network activity on the same computer where flash cc won't activate  I captured before, during and after the refusal of cloud on my account. As you can see, the column result has only success.
How come the server anwser no and no message says why?
Now I get the big picture, there are 20 reasons why it probably won't work, Adobe won't say why at any moment , it's good luck for himself. The worse part is that it is the only business model remaining and it's not refined enough to let the client know what's happening.
If I cant to keep CS6, will the activation fail and not event tell me a new version MUST be downloaded and installed or if the language is not allowed for my account?

  • Flash Builder 4.7 Launch Configuration Issue

In Flash builder 4.7 64 bit I have a project that has 5 or 6 different debug/run configurations.
For instance I have 2 Google Android Configurations that run in the simulator - one is for a Galaxy Tab and one for a Fascinate.
However - when I set the device for the Fascinate configuration to Fascinate - it also changes the device on the Galaxy Tab configuration to the same device.
    Is this a bug?

It definitely is a bug and Adobe really needs to get on fixing it. There is a way to work around it, though, which will at least make it so that the bug can be lived with. I posted the answer in response to another thread in the forum. It can be found at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1226494. Hope it helps!

  • Flash builder 4.7 air 3.6 new adt compiler

Hi. Ive been having serious issues when i tried to "Export release build" using air 3.4 and/or air 3.5 on Flash builder 4.7. Goit a lot of nonsense java.lan.nullpinter exceptions and similar errrors.
When i tried to debug or run, even on device generating the ipa, everything ok. But when i tried to export the project, and it tried to re-compile it, always got absurd java errors.
Ive tried everything: downgrade the java virtual machine, reinstalling flash builder, air, even windows!!! Nothing worked. Even recovering previous stages of the project where I originally could export it (its even published on the appstore!). No use. The app that was working no problem, now when trying to export returns a lot of javanull pointers or similar crap.
BUT, when trying to generate the ipa through via command lines  on the ms dos console it works!! So... its obvious the problem was on the adl+java duo.
Thing is, I updated to the just released AIR 3.6 (not the beta, the release version). It uses .exes(on windows, which is the system im using)  instead of java, so it showed promise.
I overlayed the air version on the flash builder following this instructions:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4797974
Well, not exaclty, because then flash builder throws a lot of errors and dosent show me the package explorer for instance.
I made a copy of the AIR folder, but not deleted the content, just copied the new air version files over and substitute the replicas, but kept the originals where no new file substituted them (dont know if im explaining it ok, sorry for my english).
It worked... except for the damn "Export release build" option. It keeps trying to debug it using java instead of using the new adt. And I cant find how to change that.
The adt on the other hand is being used ok, as i can check it when I try to run or debug the project targetting a device. Before I could check the command used and now Im not, so Im pretty sure its using the new .exe instead of the java version. But now I dont know how to generate the ipa targetting the app store, for instance via command line using the new adt nor can i do it exporting the project from the flash builder IDE.
    SO...
is there anyone having similar problems?
How can I correctly overlay air 3.6 over Flash Builder 4.7 and force it to use the new air adt and adl?
    Anyone tried?
    Thanks in advance folks!!!

    Thanks everyone for your collaboration.
Hey Nabren, What do you mean by "as well"?
Just to make it clear. I already followed the instructions here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder. html
to overlay the air sdk. And the folder you are pointing me is the ONLY ONE the instructions tell me to replace. BUT when you say "as well" I understand something else have to be done.
Ill explain the whole process Ive followed and the consequences:
As I said I replaced the content on the AIRSDK placed in the fodler C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722 (or similar), for the content of the new SDK.
The result is that flash builder throws me a lot of errors and is unable  to show even the package explorer, for instance or create a mobile project, so I went back to the original AIR folder. No problem there.
When I was using flash builder 4.6 I overlayed the sdks in this way: made a copy of the last flex SDK (which already had the air sdk inside), and copied the content of the  latest AIR SDK over the current sdk, replacing only new files, keeping those not includded on the air sdk. That way I could keep several flex+air sdks, and could select wich sdk to use for each library/project. Now this doesnt work anymor on flahs builder 4.7.
    So I tried this:
I made a copy of the AIR sdk under C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722 and copied over the new sdk ont he folder overwritting new files, keeping those not included on the new sdk... and this works! Everythings fine. I can debug complex projects on air simulator even launch it on an iphone or ipad...
BUT it keeps throwing me JAVA errors (null pointer exceptions and things like that) when exporting that makes no sense at all (different errrors without making any change, now no error now another one...).
More info on the projects provoking this behaviour:
They are mobile projects (ios mainly). They use several libraries. Some of them come from compiled swcs from flash cs6 (wich contains classes we are using as views). All libraries have been double checked. They are fine. The problems emerge when trying to export targetting the apple store. Weve double checked the provisioning and the certificate. They are correct. In fact, when we try to generate the ipa using adt via command lines on ms-dos it works!
Weve tried to remake and the rebuild the project class by class, even recreate the flas we are using to generate the swcs to be used as libraries on the project... it only works when the project is almost empty. As soon as some content is added.. bumm! Java errrors all over when trying to export.
Our main machine is an i7 2.93 Ghz, 8 GB ram, 64 bits. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, using Flash builder 4.7 64 bits and flash cs6 64 bits. But we have checked on other mahines and sme thing happens.
Doesnt anyone else have these problems? Is there any other way to overlay the air sdk?
    Thanks again.

  • Can't install portfolio sdk in adobe flash builder 4.7

    Hi all,
as a CC member I installed acrobat XI Pro, Adobe Flash Builder 4.7.
I would like to create a new Portfolio layout but it seems impossible to me.
I already followed the instruction provided by adobe: https://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/PDFNAV/Installing+Acrobat+Portfolios+SDK but nothing happens.
This page seems outdated. How can you work this way?
Here is what I have done (windows 7 64bit):
    I copied the "AcroFlashDebug.api" file in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\plug_ins"
I copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content  in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)"
I also copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse"
I copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in  "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\plugins" (please note I created the "plugins" directory manually)
I also copied the "Put contents in FB plugins dir" content in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins"
    but now?
I started FB 4.7 but there no mention about navigator projects or portfolio.
    What I'm missing here?
Is there an updated step-by-step tutorial?
    TIA for any help.
    tony

The question of whether plug-ins are 64-bit or 32-bit is a vital one, and has been a pain for every app I've seen which has gone 64-bit. Maybe you'll need to install the 32-bit Flash Builder, but that's just a wild guess. This part of the issue seems specific to Flash Builder, so I recommend you try that forum.

  • Flash builder 4.7 debug via usb device iPhone 4s - device not found

I cannot find my iphone 4s while trying to debug via usb =(
i exported ipa and installed it via itunes - this works. but i would love to debug on device.
im using actionscript mobile project air 3.4
    im using windows 7
    ==================offtopic====================
also how do i add icons for iphone?
Thank you for your time! Cheers!

    Hi ,
Please provide more info on the above issue:
1.What is the message shown when you try to debug the application via USB on iOS device ?
2.Are you able to debug on other iOS devices ?
Run this below command from commandline :
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.348139\AIRSDK\lib \aot\bin\iOSBin\idb.exe" -devices
Note:Make sure your  device is connected to the machine.
The above command should list all the iOS devices connected to the machine. If a single device is connected,Flash Builder installs application  on device and waits for debugger connection. If multiple devices are connected, choose device dialog will be shown.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • Error using Acrobat portfolio SDK with Flash Builder

    Hi all
I've been trying to customize a navigator portfolio for Adobe Acrobat X using Flash Builder 4.5. I was running this proyect as Navigator but I received the following Flash Player error:

I've installed Acrobat portfolio SDK into Flash Builder and I have followed the documentation of Building a Navigator from http://learning.adobe.com

Ok, finally got this working.  Many hidden gotchas.
    1.  You have to make a Trust File for your custom panel.  This is actually in the SDK, around page 53, so my bad -- but the problem is that there is no feedback from the Adobe application if you don't have this.  The application just hangs.  It should produce an error message "can't find trust file, etc.".  This should not be that hard to implement.
    2.  The latest Flex SDK does not seem to work in Bridge CC or other similar applications.  You have to use Flex SDK 3.x, apparently, and this is NOT in the documentation.  Not only should you set the default SDK in Flex Builder to 3.x (I'm using 3.6) but you have to edit the build.properties file to make sure it's pointing to the correct folder, eg: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)/sdks/3.6.0.  Fortunately Flash Builder 4.7 comes with 3.6 installed.  If you have an older version, it's likely to be completely different.
