Flash button problem when scrolling

Hello.
I posted this in Dreamweaver forum as well....just in case.
I am using flash buttons for email links in my web site
rather than html email links to help with spamming.
They work great except for one thing. In my site I have a
fixed Div on the left of my pages. The content scrolls sideways
underneath the fixed div. However....the flash buttons scroll over
the TOP of the fixed div while the rest of the content goes under
as it is supposed to. I have the fixed div set at z-index of 2.
This isn't an issue in Firefox, only IE7, so far.
Any one know of an easy fix for this rather than creating a
new div for each of the buttons?

Try this and see if it works
In your HTML go to where the <object> tag is that loads
your flash button.
Add this parameter within it.
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
Then add the following inside the <embed> tag
wmode="transparent"

Flash buttons problems when screen text set to medium in Windows 7

Anyone else have this problem that when
users have set windows 7 to Medium 125% screen size (not screen resolution), the clickable area on all buttons
in a flash menu/file are off. It's like the area to click for the button is not resized with the graphics and are no longer located over the button but stays where it is when screen size is set to 100%. With a more complicated menu, it makes it nearly impossible to click buttons at the bottom of the menu as the clickable area is located twoor more buttons up. It also seems to be happening with newer Flash files. On older versions it's not happening and the clickable area is scaled with the graphics in the Flash file. Please help!

Flash CS4 crash when scrolling

Hi,
Today one of our artists started experiencing a crash in Flash CS4 Professional when scrolling the workspace around in one of his .fla files. All he has to do is hold down the spacebar and scroll around with the mouse; or use the scrollbars to scroll around. It has crashed about 10 times in the last hour, and we copied the file over to another machine and saw the crash there as well. We've only seen it occur with one particular file.
The machines are both Intel Core i7 machines with 8GB of RAM and two different video cards, one running Windows 7 and the other running Vista; and the crashes cause the Adobe "let me report this crash to the mothership" dialog box, so I don't think it's video card driver related; I think it's just a bug in Flash Professional. We're running version 10.0.2 with no updates available to Flash Professional when choosing "Updates..." from the Help menu.
Anybody else seen this? Any workarounds? Any way to get Adobe to fix it?

Problems when scrolling

Good afternoon, I am facing a problem when scrolling a page when in the continuous view, sometimes the page jumps to the previous lines... How can I fix this?

I've only got one paint method and that is the main one in the base class. I've actually always disliked it. It basically contains all the location setting of all the components on the applet. I always thought these should be put in init, but whenever I do that, it fails to set their location.
Still, this is what my paint method looks like (well, a bit of it, its long)

Flash content distorts when scrolling and switching tabs.. since FF 13.0.1..

Before describing the issue
Please note from the System Details pane to this post that I have the latest flash, etc.
And Windows updates,are up to date.

Issue: Scrolling distorts flash player window (Youtube, hulu, etc.)
Since: FF 13.0.1 update in June. (I posted on the issue under "badly scrambled images".)
Problem is still there with FF 14.0.1
This distortion happens:
# even with just starting the browser (so no bloated cache)
# even with just only one or two tabs open.
And since last week's update to FF 14.01, I have also detected:
Switching to the the tab with flash content will "imprint" the image from the my previous tab on to the flash player. I have to scroll or refresh to get the flash player to show its content.
FYI, none of these flash player problems occur with IE9.
The advise from a regular contributor was to turn off hardware acceleration, but these did not solve this issue.:(
Solutions suggesting disabling all the plugins etc. have not solved the problem either.
So if you can tell me some other way to solve this, I will appreciate it.

Sorry, it took me a while to give feedback for the suggestions you have given here.
(Please refer to sidebar on the original post for system details.)
I have reset the profile and updated the Nvidia driver. The version of FF is 14.0.1. But it still scrambles the pictures.
On top of scrambling the flash content when scrolling, it has additional problems:
As you can see from the attached image, another tab's content is showing on the youtube flash player. This happens when I have paused the video even for a short time.
I have a suspicion that the combination of Flash and Firefox does some weird things to graphic processing and memory.
(I realize that IE implements Flash differently, but they seem to have this right.)
I might just have to say goodbye to Firefox for a while.

Flash button problem

Hi
I am quite new to actionscript but when building a simple app
that calculates amounts when you press on a button it only works if
I use a library button and not my customised one. I have checked
that the button is a button symbol and has four states but whenever
I use my own customised button I get error message...the library
button works fine with the actionscript.
Here is the error message I get with my custom button - any
idea why?

Display problem when scrolling in Finder OS X Lion.

Hi,
Last week i bought a new iMac, i7, AMD Radeon 6970M.
Sometimes, when scrolling in the Finder, the text is displayed weird.
See screendump. Is anyone known with this issue?

I've had the exact same problem with Lion. Telephone support told me to reinstall OS X Lion, which didn't help. The genius at the Genius bar told me it was my 3rd party (Kingston) RAM. He demonstated the display was fine without the extra RAM, but he was using a USB mouse with a scrollwheel. At home, my bluetooh magic mouse continued to cause the same problem, and so did my trackpad. So I determined it had to do with the faster (and different type of) scrolling that these newer devices perform. I then saw that if I use the slider on the right side of the finder window instead of gesturing with the mouse or trackpad it works fine.
So I played with my settings a bit to see if I could overcome this problem, and found a solution. I went to "Preferences-General-Show scroll bars" and changed from "Automatically based on input device" to "Always". This nearly fixes the problem! At least so far. I get an occasional glitch if I scroll up and down a lot, but way less frequently than when its set to the default "Automatically based on input device". This must be due to the new disappearing scrollbar "feature" in Lion. Nicely done, Apple!

Flash button problem in Firefox

Hello.
I am using a flash button to replace html email links
throughout the site as a method to control email spamming.
A lot of the areas I am doing this, the flash email link
appears amidst a paragraph of text.
This seems to work and displays perfectly in IE.
However, in firefox, the embedded flash object wants to start
a new line/paragraph which messes up the flow of text.
Does anyone know a fix for this?
Here is a link to a page where this is happening. Scroll
horizontally to the 2nd to last column (under "who would have said
any cover band would have lasted 18 years?") and note the EMAIL
link in red in EXPLORER. Then look at it in FIREFOX and see how it
starts a new line with a gap.

Positioning-problem-when-scrolling-down-webpage with j query pop up calendar

i have posted this again since the previous has been answered and beside, try to simplify the problem
I am trying a very simple code here by have so many break lines so i can scroll down to the page. when i scroll down, click on the text box, the pop up calendar dosen't appear next to the text box, i appears all the way on the top. is there the way to make the calendar appeas next to the text box.

Phone keeps ringing on the caller's end - Is This a Call Waiting and Flash Button Problem?

I had FIos phone service installed 2 weeks ago. I am having a sporadic but regularly occurring issue with incoming calls that I think might be related to the Call Waiting and flash button so I am looking for some input. Before describing the issue here are a couple of things to know:
- I have my Verizon voice mail service turned off on my account.
- I have the call waiting function set to off.
- On my phone handset the Talk and Flash operation is the same button.
Now here is my issue. Often but not 100% of the time people are telling me that the phone just rings and rings on their end. After receiving many complaints since my Fios install that the phone rings and my phone answering machine does not pick up the call I have been calling my home phone number with my cell phone and I have determined the following:
1. My home answering machine will pick up the call, however on my cell phone which is the calling end the phone is still just ringing.
2. Sometimes I will press the talk button but there will be dead air but on my cell phone which is the calling end it will still be ringing.. But if I press the Talk/Flash button a couple of times the call completes.
Since my Talk and Flash button are the same I started to wonder if that is a factor so I repeated scenarios above and found that after pressing the Talk button a couple of times then the call is answered and the phone stops ringing on the caller's end.
I know that with Call Waiting the caller's end will just keep ringing unless the called end switches over with the Flash button. So my question is even though I have the Call Waiting function turned off could the combination Talk/Flash button be the reason why the call just rings on the caller's end even though I have Call Waiting turned off? And f this is the cause then why is it happening and does it mean that I have to buy a new phone that has separate Talk and Flash buttons?

Without buying a new phone you can test this. Unplug the phone that has the combination button. If its a cordless phone base station with multiple handsets, make sure you unplug those as well. Then use a regular phone plugged in to do test calls (if you dont have one you could maybe borrow one for a couple minutes from a friend, family, or neighbor).

Screen flashes or flickers when scrolling

When scrolling through web pages, my screen flashes or flickers. Turns white and then the page displays. Not a major issue, just more of an annoyance than anything. I have turned my phone off twice to see if that helps and doesn’t seem to change anything. Any ideas?

I just got back my iPad after diagnosis from apple care. They have said it's a software issue and nothing related to hardware. Moreover, I checked a few iPads on display at an apple store and still found the same issue.

Flash button problems

The company i work for build computer based exams in Flash MX
2004 Pro.
We decided to make the dynamic text boxes which displays the
exam questions selectable. This is so an external speech software
can read the text when copied. After doing this the buttons on the
page that load in the new questions (from inside the action script)
sometimes stop working, as if they were enabled false... This only
happens for one or 2 clicks then it just starts going again.
The pointer changes from the little hand back to the arrow
and the button stops clicking, even when you are right over the
clicking area.
It makes no difference how fast or slow you click it still
happens.
There seems to be no pattern in the way that it stops just
when it feels like it.
Also i tried moving and the buttons so there a good way apart
from the text box yet this still seems to happen.
Asoon as i make the text boxes on screen unselectable it all
starts working correctly again.
If anyone has any ideas why this is happening can you please
reply and let me know....

Hello Ricky.
I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, though I can
take a stab at it. Do your buttons contain text also? Sometimes if
I find buttons with text that is not selectable behaving slightly
blinky, I make sure the text inside the button is a movie clip and
the situation resolves. It seems to produce a more stable hit state
overall.
I hope this helps, though if not, I am sure someone will
reply again.

G-580 touchpad problem when scrolling

sir,
my lenovo G-580 which is windows 8 besed laptop has a problem with its tuoch pad.
when i scroll over it's mouse pad it automatically selectes the items, and some times it takes comands automatically
specially when internet is open and doing something on internet , it troubling me much. i have purchesed it from local retailer in the month of february 2014. sir plz provide me help as early as possible so that i can take a relif from it disturb...

I’m sorry to hear that your new G580 Laptops touchpad scroll feature is not working as expected, I suggest you to re-install the Touchpad driver in the computer and check the issue. While installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
