How do I answer calls with the KITKAT update?  I hit the flashing button but it's still ringing?  Where are the Answer settings?

Aha!  Thank you!!!  That was not obvious. Sometimes I don't get the green and red icons.  So it's slide it to the right for answering and slide to the left for voice mail.

  • Flash button will not update on DW 8 on Mac

I just moved to a mac. I have been on XP. Whenever my site
needed a new button, I would Duplicate an existing button, rename
it and then change its display and link.
Now, on the mac, I can duplicate and change the name.
However, when I change the display and link, it takes the OK or
Apply, but when I re-retrieve the changed button, there are no
changes. I must really be missing something obvious?
    Thank you for any help!

Why are you using Flash buttons? You know that some people
    won't see them,
and search engines won't find them, right?

  • Flash buttons won't work in Dreamweaver

    Hello,
I recently watched/read tutorials about how to add Flash buttons into Dreamweaver. I followed the instructions perfectly: insert>media>flash button, and played around with that options. After I clicked ok/apply, though, the only thing that popped uo was a little grey box with the "f" Flash logo inside. It could be resized, but thats it. When I tried previewing it in a browser, all I saw was a little box in the color i had set as the BG color. In the properties window, it says "undefined" next to file. I am using CS3on a macbook, and am a beginner with Dreamweaver. Anybody know why this is happening and how i can fix it?
    -New user

That's correct. There's no difference. But Flash buttons should be avoided however you make them.
Use text-based CSS formatted buttons instead.
Easier to maintain and update and search engines love them.
Google CSS Buttons and you'll find plenty of tutorials.

  • Flash buttons don't work

I created my template in Dreamweaver and 9 other pages from
the template. Now I inserted flash buttons in the original template
and linked them to all other pages. Buttons work in the original
template but not in any of other pages, even though I updated the
pages with all the changes. What am I doing wrong??? I am losing my
    mind here.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!

Flash buttons don't work in any real sense of the word,
    anyhow. Why are you
    using them?
If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will
    not be spidered
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons...
This problem is due to the fact that you are placing the
    buttons into a
Template file. In this case, and assuming you want to inherit
    all the
problems, make the links to the buttons ROOT RELATIVE.

you probably have to install the Dreamweaver update so that
    you're on
version 8.0.2. just search Adobe.com for Dreamweaver update
    and you
should be able to find it pretty quickly.

  • Say Goodbye to FLASH Buttons?!

Previous posts I've seen on the subject of Flash Button
extensions indicate that these options have been removed in the CS4
    version!
    One of the MODS wrote:
    David Powers(Moderator)December 1, 2008
James, Flash text and Flash buttons were removed for several
reasons. First of all, they were quite primitive in the effects
they created. More importantly, many inexperienced designers used
them without understanding the implications of embedding text and
navigational elements in Flash. Any Flash elements need the user to
have the Flash player embedded in their browser. Although Flash
Player is very widespread, its use is not 100 percent universal. As
a result, such people see no content or navigation if everything is
embedded in Flash elements. If you understand how to use Flash, you
should create such elements in Flash CS4 Professional or Flex.
If this is true then I would like to be the one to decide
whether I should use this option for the Web I'm creating!
I'd really hate to manually have to add these codes into
everypage, and although I've used Dreamweaver since it's first
version, doing this may perhaps get me to re-evaluate whether or
not to switch to MS Expression which will me a hassle but all the
    same I will do!
Anyhow, I hope this get's fixed, cause I think all of the
extension options are an important part of the software! Alot of us
have been using the software since it was first released, have
bought numourus extentions for Dreamweaver and I think it sucks
that these options are not included since they have been a major
part of the software from the very beginning!
What I add into the Website is my business and I would think
it would be in Adobes best interest to support the features their
    customers use!
Comments anyone? (Please me kind :)

This is the point, not that many people use this feature and
keeping it around takes time and effort to make sure it still works
in the new version of Dreamweaver, time and effort that would be
better spent on testing and updating features that are used, as
well as any new features being added.
Remember that noone is pulling the old version of Dreamweaver
off of your system, so you should still be able use the older
version to access the old feature.

  • Can't Select Flash Button?

I am trying to Insert>Media Object>Flash Button in Dreamweaver CS3 on my template page, but when I go to Insert>Media  the only options I get are SWF, Flashpaper, FLV, Shockwave, Applet, ActiveX, and Plugin.
(I know, I should get an updated version, but the company I work for doesn't want to upgrade so I have to use Adobe CS3 programs)
    Please help... thank you!

    SnakEyez02 wrote:
A Flash button is just an SWF file.  Insert the SWF and it should be fine.  Just remember the button will not work on many mobile devices.
Nor will it work on screen readers, making your page inaccessible to individuals needing to use screen assistive devices.  Nor will it work on any platform that doesn't have the right Flash player app. In short, Flash buttons are just a bad idea.  That's why they were removed from CS4 and later versions of DW.

  • Flash Button question.

Any help on this matter is greatly appriciated. This is
probably a stupid question but it is driving me nuts.
I was updating my site in dreamweaver and I added a bunch of
flash buttons.(slider type) When I upload the site to my server ,
you have to click each button one time before the flash starts
working. If I remember correctly, when I first started adding
buttons, the properties at the bottom had 2 check boxes on the left
hand side to continouisly play the flash. I do not have those check
boxes now. I opened the buttons in flash and everything works fine
in flash. If I hit the play button(in properties) the flash will
work correctly until you preview in browser.
I'm an amatuer at best with this stuff so any help at all

  • Flash Button and IE7 issues

When I first built www.tutsheaven.com, I used Dreamweaver and
Flash buttons. Everything has worked fine until IE7 came out. Now,
you need to double click on the buttons to navigate to the next

  • DW MX and Flash Buttons

    Hello,
I designed a simple website some time ago and created flas
buttons to navigate the site. I transferred the site over to
another domain hosting service a couple of days ago and now the
flash buttons do not work with a single click. Users must now click
twice on the flash button to load the required page into an
    adjacent frame.
Would anyone happen to know how to rectify this problem? What
may have caused it in the first place?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Because -
    1. Those who don't have the Flash plugin installed will not
    see the link.
    2. Those who require screen assistive devices will not see
    the link.
    3. Search engine spiders will not see the link (so your site
    will not be
    indexed).
    4. If you move or rename a file to which this button is
    linked, the link in
the button will not be automatically updated to reflect the
    change you just
    made.
    5. They look creepy.
    6. I can't remember this one.
    7. It's a maintenance problem for you (I just added this so
    the list would
    look longer).
    Do those work?

  • Use of flash buttons - not a good idea?

    Hi guys
I've been advised in an earlier post against the use of flash
buttons. As someone relatively new to Adobe products I'm interested
to know how flash buttons don't seem to be supported but flash
moves or indeed flash websites are in abundance and seemingly have
no problems, or personally speaking I've not had problems viewing
such websites in the past. I'm not contending the opinion I was
given but as someone on a learning curve I think it would be
invaluable to learn how one works and not the other.
Also, what would be a suitable alternative to flash buttons,
I'm considering using jpg images which change on mouse-over using
    javascript.
    Mike

sigh - i was trying to be nonjudgemental. one may have a site
where seo is a nonissue and they know that their audience has the
latest flash-equipped browser (like mine, for example. while i
choose to not use flash for different reasons, i don't rely on
search engines as a meaningful source of business and/or leads.)
