Flash buttons not working in IE7 and Chrome

Here's my website where the problem is occuring www.bakercreative.co.uk
As you can see the Flash buttons animate, but when clicked they should go to a new html page.
I've tested it in IE8 and Firefox without any problems but it's not working in IE7 and Chrome.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the html code or the flash file itself?
Thanks

Hi, Glad you were able to solve that issue with the buttons and Chrome. Any small thing can cause big problems!! LOL
I'm sure IE7 will test out ok, IE6 did Your website is very nice and has a variety! I hope it all comes together for you.
Thanks,

Hi guys, I've had this Jquery/Javascript on my page for a long time. This has stopped working. If the user clicks on buttons on the Apex page, nothing happens.
It works on IE but doesn't work on Firefox and Chrome. It used to work fine.
Is there anything I can change to make it work on all 3 browsers?

    Please can someone help?

JavaScript doesn't work on any site at all? If particular sites are the issue, or you get specific error messages, please let us know.
Usually the only two ways to disable JavaScript in Firefox are:
    (1) Options dialog > Content tab<br>
    (2) NoScript add-on (or other security-related add-ons)
Normally Safe Mode bypasses issues caused by add-on problems or non-default settings, so it's worth considering external issues.
Does JavaScript work normally in any other browsers you have installed?

  • Flash not working in Safari (and Chrome and Firefox) - possible solution

Yesterday my Mac crashed (actually when I was away from it) and when it rebooted, Adobe Flash would freeze any web browser it ran in (Safari, Firefox and Chrome - which surprised me as I thought it used a different version of Flash). Great with so many live-blogs happening in the world of news right now.
I tried all the usual suspects:
    * Deleted browser caches;
    * Uninstalled Flash (Adobe have an uninstaller available) and reinstalled the same version;
    * Uninstalled Flash and reinstalled the newest version;
    * Made sure I had no duplicate fonts (I did) as I'd experienced problems with this with an iPhoto upgrade;
    * Checked recent upgrades (iWeb and Camera updates) to see what they installed (nothing dangerous);
    * Fixed permissions (they needed it);
    * Tried running Safari under 32-bit (didn't think that would work as I hadn't updated Flash itself);
    * Signed in as another user.
    None worked.
As a last resort, I downloaded the latest version of the Onyx utility (freeware) and ran the Maintenance scripts, then, under Cleaning, deleted System cache, User cache, Internet stuff (left the cookies), and Font caches (you'll need to Close all the dialog boxes then Restart at the end). Expect a long reboot.
    That worked.
It may not work for everyone but may for someone.

I was having the same issue. I logged into another account, a plain no add-ons account and found that I could view flash content with Safari OK. That mean that there was some preference file in my primary account that was the culprit.
Here's how to cull out the bad apple (pun intended):
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
Go to HD/Users/Your_name/Library. Move the Preferences folder (in its entirety) to the Desktop and make a second copy of it so you have Copy A and B. Now try the the process again and determine if problem is fixed.
If the problem IS fixed, then go to the new Prefs folder that the OS will have created and open it up.
Open Copy B on the Desktop and select all of the items inside. Drag them into the open new library folder. When the Copy window comes up check the Apply to All check box and then click on the Don't Replace button as seen here. That will keep the new files created and bring back all of the others.
If the problem is NOT fixed, trash the new Prefs folder and move the intact Copy A folder back to the Library folder .
This cleared it up. I ended up with 16 items that were not put back in the preference folder.
Hope this will work for some of you.
    Do you Twango?

  • Flash Banners not working in IE7

    Hi,
On our websites we sell advertising space and allow our
customers to use flash banners as advertising. We have had this
system in place for several years, but all of a sudden it has
stopped working in IE7, much to the displeasure of our customer.
The system we have had in place is that we ask our customers to put
the following action script in their banner:
    on (press)
    getURL("fscommand:click");
When the banner is clicked it calls the associated java
    script:
    function Banner1234_DoFSCommand(command, args)
    if (command == 'click')
    window.open('
    http://www.website.com')
This use to work in IE7, but doesn't seem to any more. This
system still works in FireFox, Opera, Chrome, Safari and IE6. If
anyone has any idea why this would no longer works in IE7 it would
be much appreciated, and any kind of work around would be
    fantastic.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    Ryan

    Hi,
I have managed to solve my own problem and thought that I
should share the solution for any one having a similar problem.
The problem was that the flash file I was displaying was
stored on a different domain to the website I wanted to display the
flash file on. This activated a little documented (as far as I can
tell anyway) and rather annoying feature of IE7 called
"Cross-Domain Protection". This feature appears to prevent you from
clicking flash files that are sourced from other domains, so to
solve the problem I moved the file to the same domain and it works
    fine.
We store many different file types and various pieces of
content for our websites on different domains to the ones they are
displayed on, and I have only encountered this problem with flash
files, why this would be the case is beyond me, but there it is.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Button h_btn1b does not work....I wonder why?

Do you get any error messages?
Try putting traces in the h_btn_1b function to see if it is working.
If h_btn_1b is in a frame adjacent to h_btn_1a and they are the same symbol, it is possible that b has been converted to a.

  • 9630 Keyboard/Buttons not working; hard resets and multiple reloads of OS did not correct

My BlackBerry 9630 Tour is a little more than a year old. Yesterday the keyboard, trackball, and all buttons stopped working while I was typing out an email. I could not power off the Blackberry without removing the battery for a hard reset. Unfortunately, even after many hard resets, the problem persisted, so I went to the forums for help and tried everything that seemed relevant (multiple times) with no success.
After reviewing a number of tech support posts, this problem does not appear to be unique to any given model of BB and contact with liquids is cited as a common but not the only cause for this condition.
I was outside on a very hot and humid day when the malfunction occurred so it is possible some perspiration may have come into contact with the keypad, convenience buttons, or trackball and caused the lockup.
I'm looking for someone with more smarts than me to help me troubleshoot, identify the actual problem, and identify the proper corrective actions. See below for a synopsis of my actions taken, with the exception of taking it to the shop for repair/replacement.
The corrective actions listed on the forums and blogs are varied but essentially fall into two primary solutions:
    1. If moisture is suspected to be the issue, let the BB dry out overnight
        a. Pull the battery, naturally air dry or use a blow dryer, let it sit unplugged with no battery for at least 12 hours
        b. If this doesn't immediately work, try a clean install of the OS (see below)
        c. If this doesn't work, take to the shop and they'll either replace the keyboard and/or trackball or replace entire unit
    2. If moisture is not suspected to be a factor then perform a backup followed by a clean install of OS
         a. Backup your files using Desktop Manager Backup and Restore
         b. Do a clean reinstall OS using Desktop Manager Application Loader
             i. The OS installation process is dicey  and takes a little patience and focus-- you have to wait for the Desktop Manager to properly recognize the device before it can proceed on some of the steps and it may take several iterations to get completely through the process and get the "successful installation" message.
ii. Further, you may need to keep the battery removed during the initial steps in the process and only insert it when the process gets to the point of actually trying to copy files into the BB memory
                * The BB LCD will display an icon that looks like a battery with a slash through it letting you know the process cannot proceed until a battery is inserted and the Desktop Manager Application Loader will also give you an error indicating it cannot find the device.
                * After inserting the battery, it will take a few seconds or more for the computer to recognize the USB device and for Desktop Manager to respond with the BB password pop-up window.
                * After typing in your BB password, the installation should continue.
        c. If you can get the OS successfully reloaded and your keyboard/trackball/buttons work -- great -- now restore your files and settings using Desktop Manager Backup and Restore and get on with your life.
        d. If this does NOT work after multiple successful clean OS installations apparently you are completely hosed; the only other option is to get it to the shop for repair or replacement.
1.. Does anyone have a troubleshooting procedures that will identify whether moisture is the root cause or not?
    2. Is there another corrective procedure that's been missed?

Took  BB to Sprint Store and technician took it apart, saw no evidence of moisture or any other damage, and concluded that the keyboard had failed. Not an uncommon occurance.
Also, he told me you cannot simply replace the keyboard, it is integral to the systemboard, so you need to replace the entire device.
He did commend the troubleshooting approach used prior to going to the store -- most folks won't take the time to do even basic troubleshooting (like taking out the battery), they just go to the store and say "fix it please". He confirmed that the steps outlined in the initial post were correct and did not have any other solutions.
    Take away:
If you want to do some troubleshooting yourself to check for moisture, the process was pretty straightforward. After watching the technician, most folks with a little technical or mechanical aptitude should be able to manage the dismantling process. You just need a small phillips head screwdriver and a little patience. Good lighting and a magnifying glass or reading glasses also help!

  • Submit Buttons not working in Apple or Chrome Readers?

Is there a fix for this in the future?  As in it will work with Apple Reader and Chrome Readers?  It is tough trying to talk clients through all the options and downloads, when you are hoping to make life easy with the forms only to find out it isn't working as easily...

Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about that - those viewers are not 100% compatible with the full PDF specification so they don't properly support our forms. Adobe Reader needs to be used.
Only workaround would be to use a web form instead.

  • Flash Player not working for IE8, FF, Chrome

    Hi,
I have Windows XP 32-bit, and I upgraded to flash player 10.
I went to youtube (and various other sites) and tried to watch a video, all I get is a black screen where the video is. It doesn't have the icon where it says "flash player needed"
I have un-installed and re-installed a couple of times. I even went to other browsers but it's all the same. and it is showing up on my programs list.
the files in my C: drive are:
    Flash10i.ocx
    FlashInstall.log
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.exe
Note: I tried using the Adobe Downloader but it kept saying "SSL not able to connect" or something. This is a laptop issued by my company and I got Flash Player 10 files from our own website as we have to maintain all upgrades.
    Thanks.

Hi, Have you tried to turn off the hardware acceleration feature? If not you can go to the Adobe test site and right click on the Flash logo and click on Settings, then on Display Settings to UNcheck H.A.
Then also check the IE manage add ons for Shockwave Flash Object and make sure it is Enabled.
In FF, look in plugins for the Shockwave Flash vs 10.1.82.76 and make sure it is Enabled.
Flash Player is embedded with Chrome, so there shouldn't be any problem with it.
    See if that helps.

  • Flash video not loading in IE and Chrome

    Hi,
I have published a simple flash video page and uploaded it to my website.
It works fine in Firefox but in IE and Chrome it seems to load the first 10 seconds i.e the loading bar goes grey for a small section, Then the buffering comes up and the video doesn't load.
I've upgraded my flash player to the latest one. Cleared my history and opened my browser again.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks

i see the same problem with all three browsers:  that video won't play unless the an initial portion has already been cached.
to remedy, play and pause your video.  after a 3 seconds * bitrate of your video has cached, play your video

    for jimkemble as author thanks

Post the "code view" code that is generated and any other
code that you have written so we can get an idea of the problem.

  • Edit... Flash button not working in Studio 8

If I select a Flash object and click on the Edit... Button in
the Properties window, nothing happens. No errors, no warnings,
nothing. Flash 8 does not open.
If I double click the Flash object, the resulting dialog
shows me that Dreamweaver knows where the .swf file is (right disk,
right directory), but the Edit... button doesn't work.
I've re-entered the application that opens .swf files in the
Preferences Menu, and I've even reinstalled both Flash 8 and
    Dreamweaver 8.01...still no go.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

Since "ABOVE" means nothing to those of us using NNTP to read
    these forums
(most of the regulars), and since it's usually the regulars
    who post the
answers, it's always a good idea to restate your problem and
    its symptoms,
instead of just saying "me too".
    Can you do that?

  • Spry Accordion not working in IE7 and IE6

My spry accordion is working great in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and IE8, but not in IE7 or 6. The panels are expanded and not hiding.
The site is www.christendom.edu/n. It is there on the left.  I am using Spry 1.6 and have googled this question to the ends of the internet and can't figure out why.
    Please help!

Remove the offending comma (marked in red)
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("LeftMenu", {useFixedPanelHeights: false, defaultPanel: -1, duration: 250, fps: 90, });
FYI, you do have other problems with your code which is made evident by the yellow triangle in the left bottom corner of IE.
    I hope this helps.

  • Flash player not working in IE7

I'm not sure why this is happening but recently the flash
player stopped woring with some instances of flash content but not
others. For instance, I can't view the flash content on the
Adobe.com home page but if I go to the Adobe Studio home page the
flash content works just fine. I have no idea what's causing this
problem or where to begin fixing it. I can't even view teh Flash
Player advanced settings because they require flash. Anyone else
having trouble like this with IE7?

    Chris,
I agree that system configurations and installed software
differences are likely culprits. Last week I upgraded my laptop
from IE6 to IE7, shutting down all apps and disabling virus and
spyware stuff. No problems seeing Flash player stuff.
However, Monday morning I got a pop-up message on my desktop
from Microsoft that an important upgrade was waiting... click here
to install upgrade. Not knowing why the "auto update" feature
didn't kick in, I did the sheep thing and just followed
instructions - "click to upgrade". I had several programs open on
my desktop (PhotoShop, Flash 8, MS Office, 3 browsers, etc), along
with my "High" security level of virus suite protection. Then I
discovered I was upgrading to IE7 - not what I wanted to do just
    then, but oh well.
When the upgrade was completed, I discovered some sites did
not display Flash content! Now, I have no idea which of the 95
processes shown in the Task Manager could have been responsible,
but I doubt that it was Flash Player 9.
I think my system and Registry stuff is pretty clean, at
least better than the average PC user. Yet, I had a problem.
Interference caused by something, and all without any warning
    messages, etc.
I will never know the cause of this problem, only that an
uninstall and re-install from Adobe and all was well.
Now I remember why I hate computers!
