Flash camcorder computer connectivity, live webcam

i have searched the forum and couldn't find my solution. i want to use a video camera with zoom capability for a live webcast. I was hoping to use one with SD storage, but cant get the computer to see thru the camera lens using the usb connection, apparently that port is for data download only. I bought a low end mini dv camera and can use a firewire, but it is bulky. Is there a way to come out of the yellow, red, white cable of a low end flash storage compact camera like the Panasonic - SDR-S7K into my computer, i tried using my Hauppauge WinTV input into my usb, but couldnt see live video. these cameras dont have firewire output.

I have never tried this myself, but from researching your question it seems like you would be better off using the MiniDV camcorder as your webcam. I did find that if your computer has dedicated composite video inputs (the red, white, and yellow cord inputs), and a built in TV tuner you should be able to use the Panasonic SDR-S7K camcorder as a webcam. It also sounds like there is software that you can purchase that could allow this camcorder to be used as a webcam while connected to your computer's USB port, but Best Buy® does not sell this software. Watching Ustream live webcam continually buffers

I have Windows 7, 64bit and Flash V 10,1,102,64
My problem is with watching a Ustream live webcam on an Eagle nest in Maine, USA,

Whilst I can watch it, the streaming keeps on and on buffering, or just stopping and starting. I don't lose the picture but it plays and freezes and then plays and freezes every few seconds. It's off more than it's on.
I tried disabling hardware acceleration, it didn't help.
Is there something wrong with my version of Flash, my video card, my computer? I've tried it with Internet Explorer 8, Firefox and Google Chrome and still have the same issue.
Hope someone can help.

adninjastrator, thank you for that pointer and I think you are probably right. I ran the test just now (I'm in London, England) and Download speed is
2.57 Mbps and upload .33 Mpbs. That seems terrible.
I'm sure our Internet provider "promised" up to 10 Mbps. Also I am connected wirelessly, I wonder if it would make a differ
ence if I was hard wired into the network.

We are a non profit, Sena Foundation (www.sena.org), that has been offering free support for dying folks and doing free grief and loss education since 1982. A number of years ago we produced a half hour TV program (Sharing the Seasons) featuring interviews with individuals going through catastrophic loss.
The programs need to be updated and - since the economic collapse, which has cost us over 60% of our funding - there is no money to produce new programs.
Then came - Google+ Hangouts On Air.
We will be able to produce the new series with our own tech volunteers. Free!
Problem. BIG problem. We need to connect 3 webcams (probably Logitech c910 webcams) with usb cables to a laptop, and be able to stream live to On Air. We will edit on the fly, so we need to switch between the three cameras.
We are using Windows7.
Reading the info for Adobe Visual Communicator 3, it sounds like we should be able to do this.
Are we right?
What hardware (usb switcher etc?) will we need?
Is there anyone that can give us specific instructions about setting this up?
Do we need to purchase the update too?

No, I am not using VPN. I have enabled it on the server, but we don'øt need it to connect from outside. On the Macs we just type cmd-K and afp://IP-address and then we are prompte for username and password.
I had hope something similar was available on the Windows 7 computer, but i can't make it work.
And I don't know how to use VPN from the Windows laptop.
If I do what you suggest = Window-key plus R and type like you wrote \\IP-address\ I am told I cannot make a connection.
However!!!!! When I clicked "diagnose this issue" after a while the Windows computer told me that "the print and file sharing ressource (IP-address) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts.
So now I have to start looking at the server, where close to everything is enabled (and the Mac's connect without problems, so what is it that isn't responding? This is very confusing). If you have any hints (or have experince in setting up a Mac OS X server to give access to Windows 7 PC(s) I would be most grateful for your help.

Using USB flash drive to connect laptop

On previous versions of Network Magic, when adding a laptop to my wireless network, an option would appear for using a USB flash drive to transfer settings and/or password to the new machine.
After a few "upgrades" to NM, the option ONLY appears after I turn my security off. If I leave my WEP security ON, the only option that appears is to "copy" the 32-digit password & enter it on the laptop. However, I keep getting errors.
Is there a procedure to use a USB flash drive to connect a "new" laptop to my secured wireless network?

If this is your own New Laptop to your Network, and even after you supplied the password, the problem is the Network Lock is still on. You need to disable the Network Lock. Enter the password, installed Network Magic if the Laptop is your own. You need to stop tracking your Laptop as an intruder on your other copies of Network Magic.
Then you need to reenable the Network Lock from your Wired Computer. Use your other computer to activated the copy of Network Magic installed on the laptop.

How to view live webcam that use windows media player and java

I am new to iphone and I have two live webcams that I like to go to and can't get either one on my iphone 3gs. www.ruidoso.net, view live webcam link and www.skiapache.com live webcam link. How can I get to them?? oram I just out of luck.

You've got to remember that, as powerful as the iPhone is, it's not a desktop computer. So certain things that have been designed for desktop computers may not work the same or at all. The owners of those websites probably never considered anyone wanting to view them on a phone.
The first webcam you can view on your iPhone by going to http://www.ruidosowebcam.com/camera0.jpg and manually refreshing the page to update the view. (The Java applet just refreshes the page, something they could easily have done in JavaScript for increased compatibility).
The second one I can't help with, as that one doesn't even work on my desktop computer, but WMV is a proprietary video format from Microsoft, which the iPhone doesn't play. You'd have to ask the website owners to use a more industry standard video format that the iPhone can play.

'No Computer Connection' error message when saving memory card pics

The printer is an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m connected as a network device to an infrastructure communication mode wireless network.
There are no problems printing documents.
Documents have also been scanned and sent to specific computers on the network in the past.
So it certainly seems that there is a computer connection.
When a memory card holding pictures is inserted into the wireless printer and one tries to save the memory card pictures from the printer to a network computer without a memory card slot, one gets the error message, 'There is no computer connection'.
The Wireless Network Test Report Diagnostic Summary is all PASS with Very Good signal strength.
The Diagnostic Utilities were useless to me. I can only guess at what the problem might be because it isn't specifically mentioned as a possibility.
I tried turning the firewall off but it made no difference.
The documentation mentions UDP Port 427 but doesn't state the protocol to be entered into the slot for Windows Firewall.
There is a list of exception files but no detailed information on how to add them as exceptions into Windows Firewall.

Try this basic troubleshooting fix:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.
3 - launch IDVD and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

There are no drivers in the OS for webcams, the skype software for the iPad does not support video.
So unless you hack the firmware of the iPad and hack the skype software, it ain't happening.

How do I get 5.1 sound from iTunes on my computer connected to Bose T20?

I have my computer connected to a Bose T20 with an HDMI cable. I can get surround sound with movies, but not with iTunes. I only get stereo instead of 5.1.
I also have Apple TV connected to Bose and can get surround sound from iTunes when piped through Apple TV. Bose has told me to check the sound settings on my computer which I have done. The sound settings have 5.1 enabled.

How to add a live webcam image in OWC?

Hi All:
We have a customer who wants to use iLearning with collabsuite. They like the way OWC is integrated with iLearning but they have some specific requirements.
One of the main requirement for them is to put a live webcam image of instructor/s in a webconference, where participants (students ) will be able to see the instructors teaching live. This webcam image will be positioned at the left or right top as a small window embedded to the webconference screen.
Do we have the ability to add such functionality in collabsuite? If not, how can the customer meet this requirement? If anybody knows how to do this, please reply to this post.
