Flash can read PDF???

Hi
I know that Flash can load many type of images, but how to
read pdf pages. If you go to
http://www.myvirtualpaper.com,
you can upload a PDF and then the file is displayed on a Flash APP.
I know that may be they can catch the PDF and convert it to JPG on
the server and then Flash coul load these new JPG. Well the 2 cases
are a bit out of my mind.
The APP was built in Flash 8.
Does somebody know how to load a PDF in Flash Player or the
other option, convert a PDF to JPG with ASP?
I've also seen an Adobe Digital Edition that does the same
thing. A bit more complex.
You can find an example here :
http://adedemo.com/Title-Info.asp?InventoryID=%7BC219376C-ADD3-423D-8426-5E09F047D048%7D

Hi
That's easy to convert a PDF to a JPG ,
But the problem is how to load a PDF in a SWF directly ?
Is there any class on AS2 about it ?
thank you very much .

I would strongly recommend using one of the libraries that are available (Google). If you don't want to pay the (modest) costs of a commercial license, there are several open source projects with licenses that allow you to use them in commercial products.

  • I am running Firefox 6. I need a plugin that can read PDFs

I used to have Adobe PDF Plugin for Firefox. I used to be able to open and read pdf files that I found on the web. I can still do so sometimes. The pdf files that I can not open are labeled "(in PDF * format)" from the Wells Fargo online site. The only way I can open these files is by using Safari. Is there plugin I can get which will allow me to open these?

After some poking around, I came up with a solution that worked for me! (And yes, I had the exact same problem with the Wells Fargo online statements using Firefox 6.0, as well as a few other sites). In the "Add-ons" manager ("Tools" / "Add Ons") choose "Extensions". If you see a PDF Download (mine was version 3.0.0.2) click disable next to it. Restart Firefox. Cross your fingers! It worked for me!

  • I am unable to read pdf files using Acrobat Reader on my MAC OS X. Any suggestions?

How do I read pdf files using my MAC OS X?

You can read pdf files with preview. Select a pdf document, right click on it, and choose Preview. You can also get info and select to choose Preview for all.
You can also install Adobe Reader 10.1.3 for Lion. It will also install a plug-in to read pdf docs in the browser.

  • How do I read PDF documents?

When reviewing documents from work or online I am not able to read some items that are PDF documents. Do I need Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Yes, you might need to try Adobe Reader. While OS X can read PDFs using Preview or even QuickLook on the desktop, some PDFs are constructed differently enough that OS X can't deal with them. In some cases I think it is that the PDF standard assumed by OS X is too old, or use features like forms or scripts that OS X built in tools don't deal with as well. Downloading Adobe Reader is an easy fix since it's free.

  • Cant read PDF files in email

Hello all, I am trying to view a PDF file I had sent to me in gmail. When I click on the attachment it downloads the file but when I try to view the PDF file all the pages are white. I did a search on viewing PDF files and some posts said you can read PDF files in your emails while others said you have to buy a 3rd party app, im not against buying one I just want to make sure im not doing anything wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Not sure if there is something wrong with this particular PDF file, but I view PDF files sent as email attachments from within the received message on a regular basis. I exports estimates as a PDF file from an estimating software program that I use for my business so I can send an estimate as a PDF file to clients for viewing and printing.
I use a POP account for business, which doesn't provide for saving sent messages on the server, so I always Bcc: myself with the email to my MobileMe email address so I receive the estimates sent as a PDF attachment with my iPhone. This allows me to view the PDF files with my iPhone when a client calls to talk about an estimate, and I have a server stored mailbox for these estimates that I transfer the received email to for faster reference.
I've never had any problems viewing a received PDF file sent as an attachment by myself, or from others, so you don't need a 3rd party app for this.

Nokia's E60 is a S60 3rd edition phone, and ooh look what they've got on the Nokia India site (quite why it's available there and not in the UK, I really don't know)
    http://www.nokia.co.in/nokia/0,,90776,00.html
Admittedly it's Eseries rather than Nseries, but how much difference is there really between the devices in this respect? Might be worth a try to see if it works... I'd try mine but my handset is recharging at the moment as I'm doing full charge/discharges to get the battery fully conditioned, so can't try right now.

Opening an email attachment from received e-mail messages (network service)
Document sent using Bluetooth technology to your Inbox in Messaging
Using the File manager to browse and open documents stored in the phone memory and on memory card
    Browsing Web pages
Note that this application has been optimized for PDF content on handsets. Some functions, particularly those requiring significant computing power or memory, are not supported with this mobile version.

Hi. I use Adobe Acrobat XI pro to make a PDF ebook embedded with audio. It works really well on my computer-I can read the book and hear the auto play mp3. The problem is, when I send it to my customers, they have difficulty hearing the audio. A few of them say they have Flash player on their PC and somehow they still can't hear, some say their Google Chrome browser tells them they've already got one flash player while they try to download one. For me, I had to download two versions of Flash player to be able to access to the audio. I don't know what the problem is, is it because it's the latest version of Adobe Acrobat XI pro that people with older version of Adobe reader or flash player can't open it properly? Or is it something else? How can I make sure every customer with different system can access to my books? Hope to hear from you ASAP! Thank you very much.

And how are the customers accessing the PDFs?
    What devices are they using?
What program or apps with versions are they using?
I this age of other then PDF eBooks formats and reader program and apss for computers and mobile devices for these formats I would look at creating the books in one or more of the eBook formats.
Google Chrome and FireFox both have their own version of a PDF reader plug-in and they are well known to be less capable than Adobe Reader. It is possible to configure these products to use Adobe Reader.

  • Adobe flash player and reading pdf files.

I've recently been having issues with Safari reading online pdf files and loading up sites using adobe flash player.
I've somehow tracked down a temporary solve by going into Safari's "preferences", then the security tab.
Where it shows "internet plug-ins" I have it checked so it can load adobe flash. But when it comes to reading pdf files (adobe reader)
I have to uncheck "internet plug ins". So in turn I can read the pdfs, but not use adobe flash player.
There seems to be a conflict between the adobe reader and flash player that I can use both at the same time.
Any suggestions on how to correct this issue?
Here's a screenshot of what I have. And if I have to delete one of these plug-ins how can I do this as I don't see any options to do so.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • Can Flash CS5 Import PDFs?

I have a contract where I'm having to bring a lot of PDF documents into Flash. These PDFs can't be imported into Flash directly so I'm opening them up in Illustrator CS4 and then copying and pasting it into Flash. This works fine. However, it would save me time to be able to just import a PDF directly into Flash.
Does anyone know if this is in CS5?
    Thanks!
    Scot

Well I found one work around, if you set your Player to Flash Player 9 in the publish settings, when you import it will be Classic Text. Not ideal, but it works.

I am getting messages that I can't download and read .pdf files since I have the wrong Adobe reader. I know about their security disasters of course, but I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site and I have other ,pdf file readers as well, and for some reason they won't work either. I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. Thanks for your assistance. If there is another Adobe reader I should download and install, could you provide me with the link to it? I appreciate your assistance here
== When I download and try to read a .pdf file and when I am asked to turn off all Firefox files and if I do, I lose them since I need to know how to save them without rebooting my computer.

Brilliant! Problem solved! Thanks so much.
