Flash CC Crashed During Save, Months of Work: GONE

I've been working on a project in Flash CS6 (later opened and modified in CC when it debuted) for months now. Today, I invested over an hour of animation into it when I noticed the autosave wasn't working, so I manually clicked Save. Flash CC then crashed and when restarted, it couldn't open the .fla. When I looked at the .fla file, it now says it's 1kb in size.
Thankfully, I have a Mac that utilizes Time Machine through a hard drive connected to my AirPort Extreme and I also periodically save all my source files to my personal web server. However, I still lost all of the work I did today. Is there anyway to fix the .fla file or am I just S.O.L. and need to grab the last save Time Machine copy?
Regardless, I'll be sticking with Flash CS6 and might just cancel CC subscription completely since I only use Photoshop and Flash anyway.

if you have a working swf you might be able to decompile it to recreate your fla.
in any case, start saving your flas with version numbers because all versions of flash can corrupt the current document.  i start with whateverproject_01.fla and increment the 01 until the project is complete.

  • Flash CS3 Crashes on Save --- PLS HELP

    Hi all,
My first post. I have installed cs3 web design premium on
Vista Ultimate and have had no problem working all the cs3
programs. In flash I try and save my work but it crashes the
system. Could someone tell me where I might want to look for an
answer. Tried everywhere online but can't find something. This is
killing me as I need this working for my job. Thanks a lot.
    Matt.

    In other news, all other Adobe products I use work just fine;
but that's only Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator.
It just seems to be Flash that is having problems. Does anyone know
of any other programs that work like Flash and do pretty much the
same thing? Make the same kind of files that Flash can open/edit?
Has anyone else had the same issue I'm having? (In the first
    post.)

  • IMovie crashing during export. Only works with ultra low quality exports.

I'm using the most recent version of iMovie with the mid-2011 MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM and a 500GB Hybrid HDD with over 200GB free. I have a project and everytime I go to export it beyond the "Mobile" version I get several different errors. If I try a "Large" or "720p" export, the software crashes and I get this error:
    "Process:         iMovie [908]
    Path:            /Applications/iMovie.app/Contents/MacOS/iMovie
    Identifier:      com.apple.iMovieApp
    Version:         9.0.7 (1768)
    Build Info:      iMovieApp-1768000000000000~2

    App External ID: 9556074
    Code Type:       X86 (Native)
    Parent Process:  launchd [202]
    User ID:         501"
If I try exporting with 1080p, I get a message saying "unable to prepare project for publishing."
This just about stays consistant no matter what medium I use to export the project, I've tried exporting to different sources and it doesn't work, I've tried exporting directly to YouTube, I've tried exporting to a various different types of Quick Time format. Nothing works.
I've restarted the project and built from scratch with several different files used, nothing works. It is seeming consistat with the different projects I have and hasn't worked for months now. I need a solution asap.
    Any reccomendations?
    Thanks

    Thanks guys!
I will try your suggestions right now, so, In order to be sure that I will not f**** up my project during the process:
    1)   Do a backup of my whole project, which only (?) consists in dragging/copying my "Event file" (Library) to the USB3 External Drive.
    2) Delete Pref's with "Pref Manager"
2**) If the problem continues, delete FCPX / Fresh re-install it, using http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/
    3) Just drag & drop the "Event Folder" (37,59GB) from my External Hard Drive, to a new Libary.
    Is this it?
I would also like to know:
All my purschased Effects/LUT's/Plugins, if I must Delete & Fresh install, will I have to install them all again one by one?
Would it be useful to ask for a Genius Bar appointment, before trying all this, or not worth it?
    THANKS!

  • Finder crashes during save functions

There is a serious bug when I try to save or open a file during a browser or photoshop (basically any application) session. I cannot keep the window open, the window closes un-announced, (crash).
Result: I cannot save or open files effectively.
THIS happened Immediately after I upgraded to Mavericks OSX.
    NOT GOOD.

I'm having the same issue with an I7 MBP and a 11" Macbook AIr, both mid 2012 models and both recently upgraded to OSX 10.9 Both Mac's have SDD's. The issue happens on almost all applications but especially on FCPX, Motion, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC. It almost seems as though the finder is losing connection with the direcotory and so the flle menu closes. Sometimes the FIle menu closes within a second, sometimes you think it worked and just as you get to your file/ folder it closes before you can perform an open / save action, arrgghhh!!!
This issue is now causing me major problems as it's slowing down my work flow, sometimes taking 20 attempts (as it just had in Photoshop), to perform a save.
I have spotted a post on Autodesks help pages that mentions a similar issue. They are suggesting it's an issue with coverflow. Since then also found a couple of additional links on this support site. Still reading through but doesn't seem to be a solution yet.

  • Flash CS3 Crashes after save

Flash works fine, and I can test any video/project, as long
as it is not saved. When I save it, or open a saved one, it acts
normal, until I try to do anything with publishing it, including
testing (ctrl-enter) I've tried uninstalling it, cleaning the reg,
and reinstalling it, but nothing seems to work.
EDIT: Moved the directory of saved files to the root of my C
    drive. It works now.

    I'm getting this also.

  • CS4 - Project opens, but crashes during save

Adobe Premiere CS4 running on Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.3
So I've been working with the same Premiere CS4 project file for awhile now, and I've hit a pretty big dead end that I really need some help with: Whenever I save the project (File>Save Project), I get the progress bar that says "saving project", but it locks up half way, and gives me the spinning rainbow wheel of death. I am forced to quit the application. My changes do not save.
I get the same behavior when I try to workaround the problem: Save as, Save a copy... Importing sequences into a new project as well. Occasionally after crashing Premiere in these manners I have to restart for it to load up again.
I am using images and 1 video from iStock in my project. I first saw the strange behavior when I tried to put an iStock image jpeg into the timeline. It showed no preview for it. There was nothing about the image, technically speaking, that I think would cause such a problem.
I don't get it because the project opens with no problem. I can even work in it... just can't save. Any help?

The source material I am using includes jpegs from iStock, video from iStock, psds I create myself (usually flattened). I have also done some simple animation in After Effects (CS4) also from Master Collection. I imported a composition in from AE that matched my presets. I felt that was the most risky thing I've done in this project, but the point in time at which everything started to fail was when I imported a handful of iStock jpegs. I was having trouble getting one of them to preview in the source monitor. Details on that one here from getting its properties in the Project panel.

Notice the dimensions are incorrect. Premiere has since locked up from me getting these properties. The actual dimensions of this image are 585 × 821. This is really the only clue I have so far.
The other thing I should also note is regarding the AE composition that I imported. It had some effects on it that could not be interpreted. Premiere tells me this when I open the project up: This hasn't caused me a problem yet that I know of, because I've gone a couple days with it.

  • Illustrator CC crashes during save.

I'm working with Illustrator CC and when i go to save it crashes.  I am saving files to a server normally not my hard drive and this happens at least twice in the day.  When it does crash i have to force quit the program and then when i try to reopen it, it will not and i have to restart my machine.  I have been reading about plugins being the issue and printers and other hardware that might cause the problem.  I just curious if anyone has a solution.

Don't save directly to the server. Adobe apps have never played well with servers. Save locally and copy to the server.

  • Crashing during "Save As" in Snow Leopard

I use Photoshop CS4 on an iMac with 4gig of ram and Snow Leopard.  Not every time, but often, Photoshop just quits after I click on Save As.  I then relaunch Photoshop and everything works fine.  It may do this every couple of days.
What is going on?  Any suggestions?
    Kevin

That happens in all applications  on MacOS 10.6.
    Apple is working on it.
I don't know about that. Since I did an HD upgrade, I've run Snow Leopard and CS4 Master Collection, and can count on one hand the times apps have crashed since November. (Dreamweaver twice and Fireworks once. I was having Finder issues at the time of each though and a reboot resolved it.)
I run AppleJack once a week as a rule and things go smoothly 99.9% of the time.
    Vista, is another story...

  • Intel OS 10.5 Illustrator CS5 crash during "save as" file replacement on network volume

I am running a recently reinstalled copy of CS5 on a os 10.5 Intel  Mac pro as part of the CS5 design Premium edition. Every time I try to save over a file on a 10.5 fileserver as a  "save as" to replace an exsisting document on the server, it crashes  Illistrator. Hard. I get the spinning ball and have to force quit the  application. This action tends to cause a volume bit map error on the  hard drive. I have swapped the drive for a new one and the result is the  same so I know it is not a failing hard drive. I have come  accross a similiar issue on the forum and have yanked the pref file  mentioned in the post, but no luck so far. If anyone has an idea, I am  all ears. Thanks.
    Previous thread with simialar issues.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/318379

Adobe has always stated that saving to and opening from a networked file server is not supported.
There are litterally thousands of configurations out there and it's not feasible for Adobe to test every single one of them.
If you save the file to a local drive do you have problems?

  • Flash CS5 Crashes During Image Sequence Import

    Hi,
I have a problem importing image sequences. I have an image sequence of 300 frames, 1280x720. They are JPEG images with a size of around 40kb per image, 11 MB in total. Usually it gets to around 270 frames telling from the status bar.
Sometimes I've managed to import all 300 frames. I've tried with totally different image sequences too. 100 images and even 200 is most of the time fine.
What could this be about? right now it's stopping me from working. Is Flash really this unstable? This can hardly be a performance issue.

How much RAM do you have?
Try a fresh reboot, don't open any apps except Flash (after windows finishes loading) and try your import.

  • CS4 Extended Crashing During Save

Anytime an attempt to save an image is made, CS4 will "save" for about three minutes then present the error, "Could not save 'xxxx' because" along with a Windows delay write failed.. Been using PS fine for several months now, couldn't find a solution anywhere online. Suggestions?

    run chkdsk
run anti-virus and other malware checks
    disable all third party plugins
disable all utility software and try using Photoshop
    etc.
