Flash cc Crashes when testing project
i have been working on an app for some time now it has been working fine and i had no problems with it until i got my new computer i installed the trial of flash cc and opened my project in it, re set the path for some of the files and tried to test movie (ctrl + enter) and flash just closes... i tried creating a new fla and teste that and it worked fine but my app wont work... even tho i know it was working perfect before i changed computers, so clearly it is a problem with the project an not the program... anybody have any ideas? i would really appreciate the help
hey try this doesnt seem to be working... ill explain how i tried your method in-case i did it wrong... in flash go to file / save as and saved the fla file to the desktop with a different name then tru explorer i moved the associated file to the new folder... dont think i mentioned im on a windows 8 computer but when the project was working on my old computer it was windows 7... i dont know if that has anything to do with the problem

Flash CS4 Crashing when testing movie
I am running into Flash CS 4 Professional crashing when I
test (ctrl + enter) or publish my movie. The final swf file turns
out corrupted as well. How do I fix this problem?? I am using Flash
Player 10.Thanks for your reply. I have the 10.0.2 Flash update on my pc, I'm not sure about the machines at school but I'm guessing they do as well. I also have 6gb of ram, and am running 64bit windows7. The pc's at school are new Dell's running widows7 and I would think they have at least 4gb of ram. I've attached a file that crashed when I scrubbed the playhead on the pc's at school. I don't have that problem at home. Thanks again for your help.

I would check a couple things - whether the Flash CS4 installations (the ones that crash) have been updated to 10.0.2, and secondly what the machine specs are (how much RAM). There were a number of issues (including crashing while scrubbing) that were worked on at great length for the updater. If the updater has been installed and the machines have more than 2 gigs of ram, it would be great if you could link to a file that crashes while scrubbing so I can take a look.
Thanks.

Flash CS6 crashes when publishing fla`s with big libraries
Hi guys,
I am currently working with Flash CS6 and i noted that the bigger the libraries in my fla`s get the more likely flash will crash when i try to publish these fla`s. It already has gotten to a point where all the crashes, and then trying again to publish, has taken up a considerable amount of my time. But the thing is the publishing does not alway result in a crash, its more like 80% of the time it crashes. Also what i do once a file has crashed, i open it again and then just open and close some folders in the library, then safe and then try to publish again. After doing this 4 - 5 times publishing suddenly works again, but also just 4 - 5 times until it crashes again and i have to do it all over again.
So again, this only seems to happen with fla`s with big libraries. Is ther something i can do about this? It's been my experience that Flash doesn't much like a few things in particular. One is large vector files with a lot of points; in other words stuff brought in from Illustrator or trace bitmapped from within the program so you might try reducing the amount of points in your art if you'r working with imported art. Flash seems to work best when all art has been created within the program. If you've converted it to vector via the Trace Bitmap or Illustrator's Live Trace it doesn't like that either. It also tends to bog down with high resolution bitmaps, especially with many layers (which greatly add to the file size) so you might try to flatten some of the art to make it more managable. In general, maybe see if you can reduce whatever file sizes you can in your project before you import them. I typically have some pretty big libraries and Flash doesn't crash so much for me so changing your workflow a bit might be useful. IF it's code that's crashing the render, that I can't help you with, but there's some pretty knowledgable people on this board who might be able to help in that regard.

Adobe flash CS6 crashes when using the type tool or Editing word all the time... please help!
Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. The standard answer with all text issues simply is, that you have a "bad font" on your system and need to get rid of it.

Flash CS4 crashing when scrubbing playhead or using certain tools
I am currently having the unfortunate experience of learning Flash Pro as part of my degree program at school. I have been having a problem with the program crashing repeatedly. I have CS4 Web Premium, an educational discount edition, and am using it on an HP pc with an AMD Athlon and Nvidia v-card. I have had problems with it crashing on this computer when using tools such as the deco-tool and sometimes when transforming something. The real problem is when I try to use one of the Dell pc's at school to work on a file I have created at home on the HP. On 4 different machines at school Flash will crash when working on one of these files, especially when scrubbing the playhead on the timeline. The program will crash over and over, to the point where I can't really work on these files at school, which is a huge waste of time. I have heard of problems with corrupt fonts, and restoring preference files but also wanted to see if these problems sound familiar to anyone.
Thanks for your reply. I have the 10.0.2 Flash update on my pc, I'm not sure about the machines at school but I'm guessing they do as well. I also have 6gb of ram, and am running 64bit windows7. Frequent crashing when opening projects
10.5.8, LP 9.0.2, Mac Pro 8-core 6GB RAM
Logic frequently stalls/crashes when opening projects. This happens most often with projects that have lots of sampler instruments (primarily VSL), but some of the time with no samplers at all. The loading window generally hangs on Vienna Instruments with projects that have them, and on Space Designer with projects that don't.
The project this happens most frequently with is an orchestral template I'm creating. It has about 25 instances of Vienna Instruments (totalling 1.34GB worth of samples), a few channel EQs and one instance of Space Designer. Other projects that have caused the crash include about 10 native software instrument plugins, 1 Akoustic Piano and 10-15 native effect plugins. I consulted VSL tech support who said the problem was most likely with Logic. I'm inclined to agree, since the problem happens with and without any Vienna Instruments, and Vienna Ensemble Standalone has no problem loading templates with a lot of samples.
Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot? Has anyone had similar experiences? Thanks.Well, this has happened to me too. To the point where I've lost all the work, because Logic can't open the original project or the "crashed" copy it creates. Happened again with a new project I'm working on, albeit on a much more modest laptop system.
Annoying. Makes me think about switching DAWs...what else can you do if Logic can't be trusted. -
Flash player crashes when adjusting audio volume
MacBook Pro, OS X Version 10.9.5
Safari internet browser, version 7.1
I am taking online classes via megameeting.com. When loading the classroom, flash works perfectly fine. However, as soon as I adjust the computer's audio volume (either by pressing the keyboard button or manually clicking and dragging the volume adjustment slider bar on my desktop), I immediately get a white screen with a gray "plugin failure" message.
I can run the same classroom simultaneously on the same computer utilizing google chrome, and flash does not crash on the chrome browser when I adjust the volume.
I followed the directions to perform a clean uninstall and reinstall (running Flash version 15), and I still have the same problem. My settings are set to allow internet plugins. So far, I have not detected this problem where adjusting the audio volume crashes flash on other websites. Any help?Hi Gboyaj,
I've reported this bug 2 weeks back but it seems adobe doen't takes it seriously. Because no response bij adobe yet.
So please vote for this bug!

Flash CS6 crashes when compiling iOS app
Hi there,
I'm stumped. I built an app in Flash CS6. The app has 70 swfs in its asset folder. When I test on the desktop, all is good. Unfortunately, Flash crashes when I try to publish via Ad hoc deployment with AIR 3.2 (also 3.4). The weird thing I noticed was the app publishes fine if I only have 45 swfs in the folder. As soon as I go to 46 swfs...crash. I tested to see if it mattered which 46, but the results were the same...crash. None of the swfs have code – just images and some movieclips. I even tried to increase my disk space...still crashed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If it will help, here is my crash report:

Flash CS5 Crashing when opening a specific .fla file
I just upgraded from Flash Professional CS4 to CS5. Everything seemed to be working fine. After upgrading, I started working on a project I had been creating in CS4 on the new CS5. The file opened originally and I worked on it in the new CS5. My swf works and the video plays. All of the external swf files I load in to the Index swf work great. They were created in the new CS5. I can open the external swf, .fla files without any problem. But when I open the one Index file that was created in CS4, Flash CS5 crashes saying there was an unexpected error. I have uninstalled and installed flash several times. I have tried deleting the com.adobe.flash.plist file and restarting. Nothing has worked. I am really afraid I'm going to lose this file and all the work put in to it. Can anyone help me with some ideas to troubleshoot this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
You're still using 12.0.0, and the current version is 12.0.2.
That looks like a font related crash fixed a while back. -
Flash player crashes when I launch swf in debug mode
Not sure whether this is a bug on the player side or flash builder side, but when I export and debug the flash player crashes. This means I cant trace and debug.
Please help. Can I trace without using debug mode? The web site I was trying to open was http://www.jaylenosgarage.com The add was for Sprint phone service about half way down the page, on the right. I was using this site as a test site. It allso didn"t work on the Adobe site. The page was the one you receive after you finish installing the upgrade.

IMovie Crashes When Editing Projects
iMovie 08 crashes while I am editing a project. It happens all the time now which is weird because I have made movies successfully in the past. I have 250g HD and 116g free space. The event I am editing is 62g. I am so confused and frustrated. I can't make any edits without hanging up and having to force quit out of the application. Any ideas?
"..Would I be able to import the project part that I export and delete.." ..You would, except that it'd be all "baked" into a single clip when exporting it, so although you could chop it up again once you'd re-imported it, your original edits wouldn't be there to re-edit.
(..In the previous iMovie HD 6 there's an option 'Burn Project to Disc...' which does allow a project to be exported in an editable format, but if yours is 62GB and a DVD holds 4.7GB or data, that's be several DVDs' worth ..oh, and I think it couldn't split a project across several DVDs..)
So if you'd want to re-edit parts later, your best bet may be to copy the entire project to an external FireWire hard disc (..preformatted to 'Mac OS Extended', using Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility..) and then delete half, or more, of the project that's on your internal disc, thus making the whole thing more stable.
(..To read more about formatting an external disc, click on iMovie Help and type external hard disc into the Search box; that'll give you a topic called 'iMovie: Format external hard disks as HFS Extended for best performance'..)
Continue editing what's left on your internal disc, or tell iMovie where you've moved your project to - onto the external disc - by clicking on iMovie's hard disc icon at the upper-right corner of the Events Library..
..at least, that's where iMovie's Help says you'll find that icon, but - honestly - I've never seen it there, even when I've had one or more correctly-formatted external hard discs connected!
(..To read about that in iMovie's Help, Search on move project and that'll give you the Help file 'Storing your video library on an external hard disk'..)
So; if subsequent editing's not important, just Export most of your existing project, then delete it from your internal disc. You'll be able to bring it back later in one chunk to complete the start of your movie.
If later editing is important, copy - or, better still, BACKUP - your project to an external disc, then tell iMovie where you've put it, and either continue editing on that disc, or delete half the project from the internal disc and continue editing on the internal one.
A Backup is extremely important anyway for a project your size: what would you do if your computer, or project, went wrong now, and you had no copy of your 62GB project?! ..Probably pull all your hair out, shout and scream!
Erm; how to combine the rest of your project - what you'll edit from now on - with what you've saved on the external disc? When you're happy with the remainder of your edit, Export it as a single file, and then add it to what you've saved on the external disc.
But for a project your size ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP!
P.S: As this is a big important project, test this first by doing a short Export of a short test project. Then check that you can recombine the two halves. Ensure that everything works well before you perform this kind of major surgery on your big project! -
FCP 6.02 Crashing when opening Project
Hi,
Going bananas trying to work out why a project I have been working on for 6months now causes FCP to crash when opening. I can open other projects fine, but when I try and open a project with all media offline I get the same issue.
All drives are external and I have space on both local and external disks.
I have tried opening the project from the autosave vault - which should work - to no avail.
I have now reinstalled Final Cut Studio 2 with no change to the above.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
pThanks Shane,
I was running all the latest apps - Qt 7.3, FCP6.02 OSX 10.411, did all the updates etc.
By erasing FCP and compressor I was able to get the project to open, but exporting through compressor kept crashing - which was an original fault that started happening before the project crash issue.
Not wanting to waste any more time I did a complete erase and re-install of my computer, and after spending close to half a day doing it I think it's been worth it - though I'm going through the testing phase - although as it stands the project has been loading and compressor has been working properly (will test more though).
I was using a couple of plugins that I downloaded from Apple's website: FX plugins manager of sorts, and I was using a filmic filter from that set which I think may have been corrupting the whole project.
I will keep testing though...

Firefox Flash plugin crashes when FF launched with "Run as different user"
I often start Firefox in Windows 7 (x64) using the "Run as different user" mechanism. After upgrading my Flash plugin to v11 (11.8.800.94), the browser will hang for several minutes when visiting any page that contains Flash content. When Firefox becomes responsive again, scrolling a page with Flash content will cause the app to hang again. Disabling the Flash plugin eliminates the problem.
It seems the plugin is silently crashing -- I'm not alerted to a plugin crash in any way (no dialog or yellow "Flash player crashed" notice at the top of the window), but after FF hangs I will see a new crash report entry in the FF about:crashes list. An example crash report is available at https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/ff452291-b5b2-44e4-a172-416792130818
The plugin does not crash when Firefox is running under the same account that is logged onto Windows interactively -- only when running FF as a different user. For example, if I log onto Windows with user account Adam and launch FF normally, the problem does not exist. If I close FF and launch it as user Bob (shift+right-click Firefox Shortcut, choose "Run as different user"), the problem will appear. However, if I log into Windows as user Bob and launch FF normally, the problem does not exist.
I have tried the following as troubleshooting steps, all to no effect:
Create new Windows user accounts to rule out potential Windows or Firefox profile issues.
Use another PC (also Windows 7 x64). The same behavior occurs on both PCs
Disable AVG antivirus.
Upgrade Firefox to latest version (23.0.1).
Disable Flash hardware acceleration.
Give both user accounts full local admin privileges.
Can anyone suggest something to try next?
Update: Per the troubleshooting instructions at < http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 >, I was able to eliminate the problem by adding the line
ProtectedMode=0
to my C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg file to disable Flash Player Protected Mode. There are instructions on that page for submitting a Protected Mode-related bug, and I will follow through with that.Maybe you did't understand my previous statement. There are no crashes in FF 3.6, There is no previous evidence FF 14 was ever here, I completely uninstalled all trace of Firefox, no app data, no preferences, no cache. I will upgrade to FF14 so I can send IDs,
so here ya go.

Flash Player crashes when losing network connection
My flash player crashes every time i lose internet connection. That happens alot, because the networks i use keep jumping between eachother and they suck, quite frankly, but it's out of my control.
I got alot of tabs up, 24/7, all using flash player, so when it crashes, that sucks.
No, it doesn't crash because of the amount of tabs i have open, or the load on it. It happens when i have only 1 tab open too, barely using flash player ..
So, is there anything i can do about this?
This didn't happen with the older versions of adobe (I mean alot older, don't remember at which version this started happening, this/last year atleast) ..
Im running Windows 7 32 bit. But it happens on my Win XP 32-bit computers and Win 7 64-bit computer too.So i have the same virus on all my 4 computers?
1 computer has a updated version of the latest Symantech antivirus, and 1 has an updated version of the latest AVG antivius. They should've found a virus if i had one. And i haven't visited any "suspicious" sites, downloaded anything "suspicious", and have all ads blocked .. The chance of it being a virus is equal to zero.
When the computer changes from a network (With connection and internet access) to a different network (With connection and internet access) real quick, then it usually doesn't crash.
But when it changes from a network (With connection and internet access) to a network (With connection, but hotspot, so no internet access before i enter the password and username in a new tab/window) it crashes. Same happens if i simply click "Disconnect" when im on a network.
It doesn't however do that if i go into "Work offline" mode before disconnecting, but it crashes then when i reconnect to a different network, and go back into working online.
This is an adobe problem, no virus.
Happens with both Firefox 3.6, Firefox 4, Google chrome and IE (Whichever version it was i had) .. -
Ae crashing when opening project
Since of yesterday AE started crashing when opening a project which i worked on a few weeks ago.
We opened it on a PC, saved, with a new name. and it would open just fine. When reconnecting the files (AI-drawing) it crashed again. Renamed the drawing and replaced the originals with the new ones, layer by layer. Everything worked ok.
Just now, same thing, can't open any of the versions of the project. And it gives a warning saying that it crashed when opening windows. Do you want to open those windows again? Some versions of the project, i can open when clicking no. other crash anyway. What the heck is going on?
Others open fine, but this not. It involves some puppet tools scripts that i bought from aescripts...
I'm running a new Mac Pro, with the latest version of Mavericks, and latest version of AE.
tried to open with preview off, tried trashing the prefs etc. nothing seems to help.

Switched to another hardrive at some point, though. But no software updates.
Hid the ai-files, and opened up the project. Worked fine.
Replaced the ai-layers with an jpeg. Seems to work.
But, did the same thing a few days ago already. Opened up the project without the original ai-file.
Renamed the ai-file and replaced all the layers with the layers from the new one.
Worked well for a day or two, then started crashing again.

I just discovered something today which will be useful to all of us. As you know, we very frequently have questions about what a particular Toshiba utility does and some people have asked where they can read about all the Toshiba utilities. I notice
