Flash CC Extensions

Hi,
Extension Builder 3 now has support for Flash CC, but I have been unable to get an extension working. The problem is that Flash CC does not support HTML extensions yet. You can go through the motions (like building the default new project template), but it will fail during install.
Is it correct that we have to wait for Flash CC 13.1 to get things working, or is there something I'm missing? Is there an ETA for 13.1?

I am wondering what i need to do to have the extension

Flash CC Extensions Possible?

I have a few existing Flash CS6 extensions that I need to get running under Flash CC. I updated to Extension Builder 2.1 only to find that Flash CC is not listed as a Target application when you create a new project. I tried launching the extension into Flash CC anyway, and got an alert "Unable to launch into Flash Pro CC. Launching into Flash Pro CS6". I then tried installing from a zxp via Extension Manager CC (by setting the extensions host version to [12.0,13.9]). The extension installed successfully, but on launching Flash CC, Window->Extensions says "No extensions are installed". I verified that the extension file was in the correct system folder. Lastly, I followed the Adobe Exchange link from the welcome screen of Flash CC and tried installing a few random extensions from there, with no luck. FYI - I tried all of this (and more) with the default Flash extension template by creating a new project to ensure my plugin wasn't to blame.
So, it looks like Flash CC is not compatible with extensions at the moment. Can anyone verify that? If so, is there an eta?
I can keep using CS6, but these extensions are critical to my business. When I need to bring on a new employee, I have no easy way to get a new copy of Flash CS6, which is a big problem.

I downloaded the Extension Builder 3 Preview and got everything running in eclipse. I'm still confused about how to make a Flash extension, however. As xujieadobe mentioned, Flash CC doesn't yet support HTML extensions, but it appears to me that is the only kind you can create with EB3. A few questions...
1. How do you make an extension for Flash CC? Even the template project is HTML and only runs in the forthcoming version13.1 or higher. Has anyone gotten anything to work?
2. What is the path for converting a CS6 extension to CC? Do they need to be rewritten in HTML/Javascript?

CS4 Flash Buttons Extension Installation

I have just upgraded from CS3 Web Premium to CS4 WP and am
trying to install the Flash Button Extension and I get the message
"Can't create folder C:\program files\adobe\adobe dreamweaver
cs4\flash buttons source\
Any views?

Flash Builder Extension Install Error

I have tried the install for Flash Builder and Extension about 10 different times trying different options but I always end up with the same error where the last swc in the Referenced Libraries gives a cannot load error

When I bring up the layout in design mode it will not show images or change based on the Theme

Does anyone know of a solution for this problem or can point me in the right direction? This problem makes what should be a simple design very hard to work with.

Cannot edit the manifest.xml in flash builder extension builder 2.1

In flash builder I installed the extension builder 2.1 to build a photoshop extension. The basic structure created automatically the manifest.xml file but i cannot edit this file in the editor and If I edit outside of the flash builder it does not reflect the changes.
What I want is to add an icon for my extension.

When creating an adobe extension project in Adobe extension Builder with Flash Builder 4.6, a folder ".stage-extension" is created but not listed in the directory in the Package Explorer Tab. However the manifest.xml file in the bin-debug folder is shown giving the impression that it could be edited.
To edit the manifest.xml file, locate the location of your project and find: YourPorjectName>.stage-extension>CSXS>manifest.xml
Edit this manifest.xml for the changes to apply.

Flash cs5 extension - backward apk version

Hi
Ive done a test apk within Flash CS5 with the latest extension (flashpro_extensionforair_p1_102510.zxp)
then install it using android SDK 7 using the emulator = Runtime_Emulator_Froyo_20100909.apk
Well now I want to install/emulate as android ver. 2.01 this should be done with = runtime_emulator_froyo_20100802.apk
BUT where do I find this, its not on adobe
I guess that when creating content in flash using the extension for packaging as apk file its posible running all android versions or?
in older flash extension you specifided a path for the android SDK ....

What extension? Not every extension adds a separate panel and thus an entry to the menu.

Flash Button/Extension Mgr

I just installed the adobe 1.6 extension manager for MX2004
DW. After that I downloaded a file for more flash buttons. They
appear in my flash button selection, but when I choose them and hit
apply, I get this message:
"Could not create flash button because a component of
dreamweaver is missing, please reinstall dreamweaver." The old
buttons still work without this message appearing. I have
reinstalled DW, the extension mgr, and the flash button file, to no
avail. Any Help?

Why use Flash buttons at all?

Flash CS5 extensions for android unavailable from adobe?? anyone know solution

Hello, I'm totally new to developing apps for android and am just getting started in flash CS5. According to most tutorials that I can find on the web I need to install an extension from adobe.

That's no good!
Adobe (and your awesome staff), on a whole I think you do a great job and obviously most of us love your tools.
I don't post on these forums much, but I've been a member since 2002 (and certianly read a lot of posts).
The software hasn't been out in Oz for 12 months yet, so how do you expect people to start leveraging the new features and expand if you make it cost prohibitive and have to upgrade to the next full version (well before it's release), by subsequently taking down the value added components that the customer base obviously want / need / and appreciate. (my assumption is that when you say 'release' you are talking about full release and not simply an online update).
In helenthegreat_2011 case you have obviously alienated a recent customer that was after functionality you advertise, by promoting the diversity and flexibility of you tools, and reading recent posts it doesn't seem isolated.
I expect new developers would have at least 6 months lead time before a new version rolls out (the common 18 months version gap) and that's potentially 6 months of existing Adobe customers developing with that platform in mind, (and cementing a stronger client base using your tools to develop for Android).
So essentially the devs that have the extension currently are the only ones that are able to use FP to develop Android apps, and Adobe have locked the rest of the customer base out, mandating that they will need to purchase the next version of FP to be able to do this. .
Can Adobe please clarify what your customers are supposed to do in the mean time / or do you have an alternative for us?
What was the reason it was taken down? Was it unstable, or was it up to simply test, gauged interest, and try to profit maximise by pushing the functionality to a new release.
To quote your page "The extension for Flash Pro CS5 to deploy applications to the Android platform will no longer be available. This feature is being rolled into the next release for Adobe Flash Professional. Please check http://www.adobe.com for latest news and information about the availability of the next version of our Creative Suite products."
And that's all it says (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashpro_extensionforair/) Could we please either have the extension back, or at least a bit more of an explanation other than "Pay out a few more thousand dollars and you can have the functionality - but you'll have to wait until we release it first."
Here's the rub...
Personally, 4 months ago I spent just under $4,000 (AU$) to purchase CS5 Master Collection.
I wont be waiting until Adobe release FP CS6 to be able to develop for Android devices, I'll be investing the time to find alternate development environments (such as Unity3D http://unity3d.com/unity/publishing/android) and ditching the plans of using Fash for Android dev.
If you're going to arbitrarily take down the tools that extend the functionality of your product, then at least spend the time taking down all the Adobe articles, tutorials, videos, etc on your site that promote it as an availble functionality.
Unless we're missing something or there is an aloternative, on the face of it, I think it's poor form Adobe.

What Adobe Flash file extension will play on a MacBook?

I downloaded some projects from school that we made on Adobe Flash Animation on a Windows (I know, I hate using Windows) and I put it on my flash drive and moved to my computer at home (a MacBook). I am trying to put those files on a CD via iDVD and it won't recognize the files so I'm assuming it is because of the file extension, which my files have the extension ".swf". What specific file extension should play these files on a Mac and allow them to bun on a CD?

The answer is there is no answer and why should I worry about a dinosaur pc problem!

install this from the Extension Manager CS4, it tells me I need to
have Flash MX 2004 or greater installed, and to try installing it
with EM CS3. When I try using EM CS3 it doesn't detect Flash CS4
and says I need a version of flash installed. How can I get this

Flash Catalyst Extensions

The Adobe Marketplace and Exchange currently has ZERO extensions for Flash Catalyst. This is disappointing to me even though it's a new product. Could anyone point me to documentation on how to create extensions for Adobe products; specifically Flash Catalyst? I'm sure Adobe has to have some official documentation somewhere.

Publishing Flash through a CS extension

Hi,
I'm planning a CS Extension that we are soon to be building. One of the requirements for this plugin is that you can Save and Publish when working on a FLA in Flash.
Our plugin will have a save button, and when this button is clicked the FLA will be published into a SWF.
I'm not sure if this is possible through a CS plugin, there doesn't seem to be any examples of this and there isn't a CSAW library for Flash that may provide a way to link to this functionality.
Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

I don't have much experience with Flash Pro scripting so can't give you a yes or no off the top of my head
But it is possible for a CS extension to make calls from ActionScript to both JavaScript and to native plug-ins.
If no one else can give you a more direct answer, I would suggest reading up on Flash Pro's JS and native extensibility API (or try their forums) and see if what you want to do is possible from those execution environments. If so then it should be possible to trigger the action from a Flash-based extension.
