Flash chart doesn't display cyrillic characters

Hi !
Please give me you advise to solve my problem...
I tried to write X-axis labels on 2D-column chart using Cyrillic characters.
If I set "Labels Rotation" to a value more than 0 chart does not display labels. If labels consists of Cyrillic and Latin characters then only Latin characters are displayed.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

That is possible.
The rotation functionality within html, if I understand it correctly, actually generates a graphic and rotates that rather than rotates the individual characters. It could be that this functionality just isn't designed for the characters you need.
This may be something you need to research on Adobe's website?

Safari doesn't display Cyrillic domain name correctly

I wonder why is that Safari doesn't display Cyrillic domain name with .укр TLD correctly, that is official Ukrainian Cyrillic TLD.
For example, if you visit the official website of the President of Ukraine, by typing: президент.укр in your Safari web-browser address bar instead you will see this: xn--d1abbgf6aiiy.xn--j1amh
On the other hand, if you visit the official website of the Russian president by typing the Cyrillic domain name with .рф TLD: президент.рф, it will be displayed correctly in Safari address bar.
For me it sounds as some form of discrimination, and I think it should be corrected ASAP.
Is there any solution to this?
This is an issue on all Safari web-browsers running on latest iOS of iPhones, iPads and iPods.

If I remember right, display of such domains in the original script may depend on whether the domain officials have policies in place to safeguard against potential confusion between names that look the same in cyrillic and latin. But it could also be a simple oversight.
Each browser may be different: Do Firefox and Chrome behave the same?

APEX - Flash Charts No Longer Displaying

Has anyone else experienced a situation where their Flash Charts suddenly stop displaying and no error messages are shown? I am on version 3.1.1.

If it was working before then stopped working , the best place to start with is "what has changed?"
If your IP, hosting , protocols (read move from HTTP to HHTPS) or some server side detail has changed then you can expect this to happen.
Another possibility is that the swf folders were moved.

Onscreen keyboard doesn't display all characters in QWERTY mode in iOS7

Since installing iOS7, the onscreen keyboard has been sluggish. Tonight, all of a sudden, the onscreen keyboard doesn't display all characters on the keys in QWERTY mode - only the B, N, comma, and period keys show their characters on their key face. All of the other white keys are blank. When you press one of the blank keys, the character does display on the key face momentarily and does show in the text box that you are typing in. This only seems to occur in QWERTY mode. If you switch to QWERTZ or AZERTY software keyboard layouts, the keys do display their characters on their key face. If you split the keyboard in QWERTY mode the all keys display normally. This occurs in any application.
We've tried:
Turning off and turning off
Resetting by holding the sleep/wake and home button
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings
Nothing has worked so far... Help!

Thanks Carolyn, we are going to try and 'Restore the iPad' tonight. We went to an Apple store this afternoon - they haven't seen this before and suggested the same thing, to try and 'Restore the iPad'.

How to display cyrillic characters in a PDF

I am fairly green in terms of representing text in PDF documents and need some assistance. My main question is how do I represent Cyrillic characters in PDF files.
I know the basics of how to represent text in PDF files and the PostScript commands to use. I know that bytes written to the file in the range of 0 to 255 will print correctly when using the correct encoding (we are using the WinAnsiEncoding). What I cannot seem to figure out is how to represent extended character sets and different glyphs (such as those used in the Cyrillic alphabet) in a PDF file. Do I need to use CID fonts and CMaps?

You don't need to use CIDFonts and CMaps for Cyrillic (though you can). The crucial thing to realise is that displaying Latin1 (that is, English and related text) leaves you in a very simple corner of PDF. Doing anything with other encodings instantly makes a project more complex, perhaps 10 times more complex. Far eastern fonts perhaps 10 times more complex again.
The principle is the same for all of them. To use any character you need
1. A font containing that character. PDF has built in fonts containing Latin1, such as Helvetica, but there is no such luxury for other encodings.
2. The right (license) to embed the font.
3. The technical ability to embed the font. In many case this isn't just a case of embedding a file as a stream, but also you need to analyse the tables in the font, and sometimes trim or modify them.
4. An encoding for the font.
5. Text streams which use character positions in the encoding to show the text.
Basically you need to read and read and reread the chapter on text, and its references (such as font formats). This will become your constant friend or tormenter for the many months of the project.
If you don't like the sound of that, or it doesn't make ecomomic sense to do that, there are many PDF libraries which have taken the necessary months or years to do this.

Firefox doesn't display all characters on a webpage

Firefox doesn't display all the characters in web pages...usually they are symbolic links to other web pages and display as a small black box with 4 numbers/characters inside the box.......

Pie Chart doesn't display all columns

I set up a simply table and made a bar chart = everything worked out well.
I selected my table again and clicked on 'make pie chart' but this time it doesn't display all the colums. I really don't know what went wrong here.
I'd appreciate it very much if some could help me out here.

Even though you have selected the entire table to be charted as a Pie Chart, and the table includes three data series, a Pie Chart can only display one series at a time, so it displays the first one; "3. Klasse"
In "3. Klasse", the values of Schaukel and Drehscheibe are zero, so there is no pie to display.
Hope this explains the situation for you. To make Pie Charts for the other two series, you would again select the header cells, then hold down the Command key while selecting the other series. Then add another chart. Do this for each series you wish to chart.

HT201401 Iphone 3GS screen flashes and doesn't display

Hi there
i have been given a Iphone 3gs 16Gb from a friend as they have upgraded to a nexus 4 and the screen connecter was damaged so i have now replaced the LCD with a new one now the screen flashes and doesn't show anything on the screen
there is no display at all not dark or dim display i have no idea if the screen is working but i have got two so called new screens and both are the same
i have recovered the Iphone as it connnects to Itunes and appears to fuction correctly with out any problems just not able to see what is on the screen touchscreen is working fine too as i was able to switch the iphone off as my friend had left a passcode on the phone so i put the phone into recovery mode from been on and recovered the phone
im out of ideas now please help

the iphone is now not displaying anything there is no flash or anything on the screen i have checked the 6r8 coil and it looks fine
the phone still connects to itunes and appers to work as normal but im unable to see any display so im unable to set it up so i can ring the phone and check

[Solved] TTY doesn't display special characters correctly

Hello everyone.

Everything works good except that my TTY can't display special characters. Example:

The is " not showing correctly at the bottom. However, the german umlaut ä works (as you can see).
I have already searched the arch forum. The only thing i have found is setting DAEMON_LOCALE="yes" in rc.conf. However, these post are already quite old and don't solve the my problem (as öäü are working). Additionally, Arch has stopped using rc.conf.
So, what causes this problem and how can i solve it?

I'm pretty sure you have to specify font and font map in vconsole.conf
like so:
FONT=Lat2-Terminus16
FONT_MAP=8859-2
If that doesn't help it could be this.
If so try to load settings manually, I can't test German setup, but for Polish I could do this to get national characters:
loadkeys pl
setfont Lat2-Terminus16 -m 8859-2
that requires to be root/sudo
note that -m 8859-2 part is quite important

actually got all German symbols to be displayed correctly, though I do not know if they are assigned for right keys for obvious reasons
loadkeys de-latin1-nodeadkeys
setfont Lat2-Terminus16 -m 8859-2

ITunes does not display Cyrillic characters correctly in Windows 7 Starter

I try to copy my songs from iTunes (9.0 running Mac OS X 10.6 Russian interface language) with tags containing Cyrillic characters (song name, artist, etc.) into iTunes 9.1 (russian interface) on netbook running Windows 7 Starter English. I do it via Home sharing option in iTunes.
Some songs with Russian titles displayed OK, but some of them display wrong characters (see attached screenshot).

Tip: Flash Chart without values displayed

Hi people,
I have no question but a Tip.
Some weeks ago I was lokking for a possibility to get a Stacked Bar Flash Chart.
At first I have choosen the 2D-Chart. But in this Chart the values are always be displayed and by using the XML-settings and the CSS-Settings it wasn't possible to hide the displayed values. The values are always displaed in a way like this: value 2.123243. In every bar and in every different area of the bars.
So I was playing around some days to hide the values and I was almost was getting mad and my boß was getzting angry about it...
But the next day I tried the 3D-Charts to see what will happen... and that's it! The Charts will be displayed in exactly that wayI need.
So my Tip: If you need nice Charts good to use, please take the 3D-Charts. Thats works.

I have someone that was able to remove the value from showing on the 2d stacked bar graphs but they don't remember how they did it. Ever since they they found out they just copy the same graph. I tried the same in another schema and could not get the same result. I compared the xml, the chart template and could not find out how they hid the values. I don't like the 3d as the colors look much nicer to 2d. any suggestions.

APEX Flash Chart labels not displaying

I am trying to create a 2D Stacked Column Flash chart, it is month based and for each month I have 3 Columns
So the query for the series returns a result set like so..

I want to display a chart where the first column of the result set is my x-axis and the second column is my y-axis. I have have created the chart but I find I don't get a label for every columm on my x-axis, I only get one for every third column, and I can't see a way of doing it, can anybody tell me how?

Hi Anil,
I have seen similar behaviors in 2D Column Charts. What I have found is that most often, for me, the issue has been that the chart is not wide enough. This is not specifically an APEX issue but rather a Flash issue. When the chart exceeds the dimensions that you specify for the chart, the charting engine must squish some part of the chart. Most often, the labels are what get removed, in my experience.
There are options to investigate this. You can make the chart wider in APEX and see if the problem goes away. You could rotate your X-Axis text by 45 degrees or so to see if they all appear. I have also seen the labels appear when you use your browser to zoom feature. This is a Flash behavior as well. If you zoom your browser to 200%, you may see more of your labels.
Finally, it would appear from your sample data set, that you may not be getting stacked column. Is that the case? If you are getting a single column for each record in your data set, then you probably have 36 columns on your chart which is a lot. You will need to make the chart very wide in APEX and possibly rotate the labels.

Chart doesn't display in Tabbed application

I am beand new to Flex Builder and am running into a problem that I just can't seem to figure out. I created a view-based application following the process outlined by Michael Chaize in his Flex 4 Dashboard video (with the exception that I am retrieving data from a Microsoft Web API REST Service rather than PHP). With some minor changes (to get data into the Array Collection), it works perfectly and my chart displays in the emulator (iPad). Great. Flex is cool.
Next I decided to experiment with a tabbed application. I added a view with the exact same code and the chart deosn't display. I debugged the application and all of the variables have the same data as in the basic dashboard I successfully created. The service is being called. The array is being populated. and the data source has the data, but no chart displays.
What am I missing? Do I have to do something differently when creating a tabbed application? Note: I put a Text Area and Text box on the view and am able to populate the text area with the xml from the service as well as specific items from the array.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I am quickly becoming a Flex fan (vs. Silverlight), but I am really confused by this issue!

Flash content doesn't display in browsers

I recently updated Dreamweaver to 8.0.2. I updated an .swf
file, updated the link on my DreamWeaver page and uploaded
everything. When I saved the DreamWeaver page a window popped up
that said it was modifying the html to work with the updated
Internet Explorer. The new .swf file doesn't display on any browers
(Safari, FireFox, IE)
Does anyone know what's going on?

Did you upload the Scripts folder that DW places into your
local site when
you do this?

Line Chart doesn't display all the rows

Hi Friends,
I have created a Line Chart with Flash Chart type.
My query returns 52 rows but on the chart it shows only 15 values on the x-axis.
Is there any thing that I need to specify for maximum number of rows ?
