Flash content does not play in Firefox

PROBLEM:
Videos and Flash content hang in Firefox. The screen is grey and the twirling circle is frozen. This is a recent problem; this behavior is new and it is unclear what has changed in my system.
1. The problem does not occur with I.E.
2. Win8 , Firefox, and Flash plug-in are current.
3. Running Firefox in safe mode does not help.
4. I have removed and reinstalled Firefox , Flash, and RealPlayer
5. Java is working.

Flash content does not work

I have installed and re-installed Flash but no matter what, Flash content will not play in either Safari or Firefox. I get a semi-greyed out QuickTime logo with a white question mark wherever a banner ad or any other Flash object should be.
I ran AppleJack. That didn't help. Any ideas?

These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
Assuming you already run Tiger versions OS 10.4.9 or above (this has not yet been verified with Leopard) and have Quicktime 7.2 or above, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
RealPlayer 10 for Mac from http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html?platform2=Mac%20OS%20X&product= RealPlayer%2010&proc=g3&lang=&show_list=0&src=macjack
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
Perian from http://perian.org/
Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them).
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

Flash Player Content does not Minimize when Firefox does

When Firefox is Minimized, Flash Player Content does not.
It shows it perfectly with other opened (not minimized) applications in the exact location where it was (the flash content) before. The other application seems to need an RGB colour map of exactly #000000 for it to show.
It cannot be captured in a screenshot using screengrab, nor can it be shown in playback from recordmydesktop.

How about the screen saver that kicks in...
It can even be worse when you also get a red/blue color swap.

Unfortunately Adobe no longer maintains Flash on Linux, so Flash 11.2 is the latest and Adobe has no intention to fix any issues in this version apart from security updates.

Adobe flash player does not work on Firefox, but does on Wind Exp

I have reinstalled Adobe Flash Player many times and also reinstalled Firefox, but flash player does not work. Every tim I try to play something it tells me to install the latest version of flash player. Flash player works fine on on Windows Explorer

IE uses a different version of Flash (ActiveX) than other browsers use, you need to install the Plugin version of Flash.

Ogv video does not play in Firefox 3.6 on a server

No problems here on Linux, that video plays for me.
Try:
* "Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Adobe flash does not play in Firefox on my tablet under android 3.2. WHY

samsung Tab 10.1 android 3.2 , Ihave installed my preferd browser Firefox.
When i am forced to use the generic android browser adobe flash content plays properly, when using Firefox. adobe flash does not and it asks for a plugin to be installed, to date i have not been able tp locate the flash plugin for firfox in android 3.2. Is there any help for this??

Originally, Firefox Mobile was not going to support binary plugins, just pure web code, but they had a change of heart and plan to add it in the next major release. Not sure whether the following is up to date -- it refers to Firefox 13 Aurora, which may be a beta by now:

Embedded swf in pdf does autoplay in IE(9), does not play in Firefox and Chrome.

I created a pdf with swf embedded. Set it to autoplay.
Does play fine in IE9.
In Firefox and Chrome video shows up (initial picture) with a play button.
Will not play, not auto nor when I click the play button.
Firefox and Chrome I just downloaded, so the newest versions.
Windows 7 professional.

Found the solution for Firefox.
In firefox, goto tools/options.
Look for Portable Document Format (PDF).
Select it and in drop down choose Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox) instead of Use Firefox (Default)

Video in Flash player does not play in C6

I have purchased Nokia C6-00, but in this phone videos do not play in Flash player. It gives me warning message that flash player required to play this video. On flash player site, it is mentioned that android 2.2 is required to install Flash player on your mobile.
How is it possible to play video in flash player on Nokia C6-00?

Symbian anna (new software version) update is available for C6-01 and C7 but there is no software update for C6-00 (with QWERTY keypad).
I am eagrly waiting for software update for C6-00. At least to provide support of FLASH LITE 4.0 so that flash video can be played on C6-00 handset.
I am facing one more problem with Skype utility on C6-00. I have installed latest Skype version on my mobile but even with 3.5G network speed, Skype login does not work.

Flash Content does not load if Non-Unicode language is selected as Korean

Users in Korea who are part of Maersk.com are facing problems accessing sub-pages containing flash content. The issue resolves if we change the non-unicode language to any other language other than korean.
Tried using Flash Player with debug and it throws up ActionScript error as follows:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.

I am having the very same problem and have done exactly the same... generated my html through flash professional CS5. It works great in IE8 but is just a blank page in IE7. You did not post the solution, did you find one?

Hi all btw, here`s my problem, I play at many online casinos and there is a problem with a certain software (Vegas), here`s what happens, okay i`m playing a slot with no problems and then I hit a bonus round and the screen inside the casino window just goes black, here`s a screenshot.. http://img148.imageshack.us/i/fproblem.jpg/
My OS is XP home, This problem may have arisen from a virus I had a few months ago, as I used to have np`s whatsoever at these casinos, normal flash content runs perfectly in any browser I use Opera/FF/IE, I have tried so many remedies from re-installing my flash players and addons/plugins, different security programmes, and registry stuff, but nothing works, really pulling my hair out now (and I don`t have much lol), so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flash 11, does not play some content, cannot fix

I updated to flash 11 this past week, worst decision ever. This is what is going on, and the steps I've taken to resolve it.
OS: Windows 7 64 bit professional edition.
Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE 9
Thursday (before update): Have had an issue with a facebook game, would load the game, but not the "invite neighbors" or "send gifts" type of page. I decided to clear my flash cache. After doing so, the game didn't load at all. This is what led me to update my flash player.
Friday - Updated to flash 11. Game didn't work at all, I couldn't load the video on www.watchtheguild.com (it always loaded the most recent episode on the default page, no longer...). Youtube works, I play flash games on kongregate (most do NOT work, only tyrant does that i have found). When I try loading something that doesn't work, it's just a black screen, nothing else. I've tried setting storage settings to unlimited and walking away to see if it eventually loads.. it doesn't.
Friday&Saturday - uninstalled, reinstalled, unistalled, reinstalled, checked settings, cleared caches, checked plugins enabled, etc. etc. etc. googled googled googled. (FYI - for each install/uninstall I right click and run as admin).
Sunday(today) - did the registry thing with subinacl + reset fp10.... twice. The issue is consistent with all browsers, so you would think it was the registry right? apparently not.
I'm out of ideas here. I've tried shuttting down my anti virus (AVG), and all background programs from the task manager before install/uninstall. I'm downloading an archived versin of 10.1 in hopes that I can get back what I had before, somehow I doubt it.
I do have adobe flash professional cs5, could that be an issue?!?!?!? I need help and ideas on what I can do next aside from reformatting my entire F*&*^$@# hard drive and starting over entirely from scratch, which I do not want to do since it would take weeks to get back what I have on my PC.
Should I try uninstalling adobe development stuff? I'm going crazy here.

HD Flash Video does not play smoothly on brand new Mac Mini

I just bought a new Apple Mac Mini (2.5GHz model with discrete 256Mb AMD Radeon HD 6630M graphics card, OS X 10.7.3). One thing I bought it for was watching HD video on the BBC iPlayer site here in the UK, but I found that it won't play it smoothly. It drops frames, particularly noticable as the camera pans. I'm using Safari and the current 11.1 Flash Player, but I've tried the latest release candidate too (11,2,202,221). The videos are 720p 50Hz, H.264 encoded, 3.2 Mbps, and use 80% - 100% CPU, so it seems to me that I don't have hardware acceleration. Enabling or disabling hardware accleration doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'd like to test it with other HD H.264 Flash videos, but I can't find any. Can anyone point me to some?

Not all video will have full hardware acceleration (stage video) enabled. Can you try the following link?

I just gave this a try with Chrome on my Macbook Pro (15", mid 2010) and Flash used between 8% - 25% cpu, the average being somewhere below 15%.

MP3 file loaded dynamically in swf embedded in html does not play in Firefox

I have made a presentation with voice over, in which the images and audio files are loaded externelly from the folder where the swf was placed. the voice over files are in MP3 format, loaded with the script follows
mysound = new Sound();
mysound.loadSound("voice1.mp3");
mysound.start(0,0);
It works well in IE but not in Firefox.
Can anyone extend a helping hand?
