Flash content doesn't display in browsers

I recently updated Dreamweaver to 8.0.2. I updated an .swf
file, updated the link on my DreamWeaver page and uploaded
everything. When I saved the DreamWeaver page a window popped up
that said it was modifying the html to work with the updated
Internet Explorer. The new .swf file doesn't display on any browers
(Safari, FireFox, IE)
Does anyone know what's going on?

Did you upload the Scripts folder that DW places into your
local site when
you do this?

  • Flash file doesn't support all browsers

    hi guys,
I have flash file which accepts data from Javascript using
swfObject.js and displays it dynamically(using addVariable). But
the problem occurring is it doesn't support all browsers. I have IE
6 and Mozilla Firefox 3 with Flash player version 10 installed in
it. I am not able to run the file on it. I can't understand why as
the code written in as3 and in javascript is right. Could you
    suggest some solution?

    Just as a thought,
Following are the reasons when you can't see a flash movie.
    1. No flash player installed
    2. Browser is not having Javascript enabled and noscript tag
is removed from HTML published from Flash.
    3. Incorrect path for swf is inserted in the HTML page.
    4. There is an error at the very begining of the flash file
which is stopping it to show properly.
    5. Browser settings are disabling object/embed tags.
I am able to see your link in both IE7 and FF3 browsers. So
what I think is, in your case the reason is 5 or 2.

  • Flash contents not being displayed on the published Apex application URL

I've had to publish one of my apex application through an bluecoat proxy to reach my Oracle HTTP server. It works fantastic for everything - except my flash charts. Flash contents are not getting loaded.Issue is only in the published application URL,the same application is working fine internally without proxy.
Does anyone have any idea why this is failing and how I might fix this?.The bluecoat support enginner is having the following findings
I am seeing some strange behavior when the browser goes through the
proxy vs when it does not.
When the browser uses the proxy the last thing it requests is the
    following(packet 354):
    GET /i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif HTTP/1.1 Via: 1.1 GITS6ISA Cookie:

    That is the browser requests
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and gets a
    200 ok from the proxy/server.
When the browser does not use the proxy I see the following
    behavior(packet 2783):
    The browser requests
    http://anupserver:7777/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif 2 times, each time
the server responds with a 304 not modified status, this means the
browser has the most recent copy of the .gif file. The browser finally
does a post to http://anupserver:7777/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept. Given
that the browser gets a 200 ok response from the proxy when requesting
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and then
stops requesting data, we need to understand why the browser is behaving
differently without the proxy(i.e. why does it request the content 2
times and why is it doing the post). The interaction between the
browser and the proxy appears normal, a 200 ok response with content is
normal, why does the browser stop requesting content?

    Hello Orton,
I think this has something to do with network access, may be a firewall restricting access to the server.

  • Flash content will not display with Player: 10.3.183.7

    Hello,
I helped to design a website last year in Flash based off a template purchased from myflashxml.com.  Up until the latest version of flash 10.3, all seemed to work ok.  As soon as upgrading to 10.3, we see the shift up to the left on the intro and then no content displayed on the actual website (two different flash files).
I understand the issue with the shifting to the left, but I cannot seem to figure out the problem with the second flash file not loading anything, just simply a blank black screen.  I have uninstalled 10.3 using the uninstaller, installed archived versions of flash player and the archived versions work properly, even on IE9.  As soon as I upgrade the latest flash version, I begin to see the same issues.
I am currently running a few different computers with a few different setups.  I have tried this on multiple machines with the following setups:
    All are Intel processors.
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit (icore5)
    IE8, IE9, Firefox
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit (core 2 duo)
    IE8, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit (core 2 duo)
    IE8, Firefox
If anyone has any suggestions as to what to try, I am completely open.  Please let me know if you need more information.

Could you send the swf's that aren't loading to [email protected]?  I'll take a look and see if I can spot any issues.
    Thanks,
    Chirs

  • Flash animation doesn't display on firefox

I have three flash banners embedded with swfobject in a javascript slider (jquery bxslider plugin). Each banner has three ActionScript ExternalInterfaces:
    * calling restartBanner() from JavaScript restarts the animation so that I can restart it whenever the slide is selected
    * calling stopFlash() stops the animation
    * on the last frame of each banner, bannedEnd() is called so that I know when to proceed to the next banner
Everything seems to be working correctly in Safari and Chrome, but in Firefox the last (third) banner doesn't seem to start playing. The weird thing is that even though you can't see the animation (it simply displays the first frame), at some point bannerEnd() is called, so internally the flash animation is working.
At first I thought it's because the container with the banner is not visible and tried modifying the slide's DOM in hope of triggering a re-render and forcing the browser to start the animation (as seen in onSlideAfter method), but that didn't help. I don't have much experience with flash and couldn't find any relevant solutions or similar problems online, so I don't really know where to look.
It's also not the issue of the one particular banner - if you change the order, the problem persists with the last (third) banner.
I isolated the code from the rest of the page and it can be seen here: https://pang.fraktal.ee/~stepan/flash_banner_issue/
As I said, the issue seems to only be with the Firefox browser, so it seemed appropriate to seek help here.

    Hi Stalaryn,
Thank you for your question, I understand that you have three flash banners on your website.
In your test the title and the span are different, but the active class is working. Its just that last div that is not loading. As well as the data target in the last tile is not as specific as the others, is it the url of the swf file? I can understand the frustration here.
Can you please file a bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org under web compatibility with reference to your silder?

  • Flash Installer doesn't display anything and has to have task manager used to close it.

For a few months now I have been trying to update Flash Player, whenever I tried I would get to the installer coming up and it displaying the black background it has but no download bar or any text. I was thinking the problem may have had something to do with the version of Flash installed on my computer already, so I uninstalled thinking if I just installed the newest version there wouldn't be a problem. Now I am stuck without Flash at all on my computer and the Installer still not working. What is the solution to this?

    Please try the offline installers:

  • New Images and Flash Content won't display

    Working in Dreamweaver MX.
Updating some content to existing pages with flash swf files
and jpegs in them. All of the old content works fine, but when I
replace old swf files with new, or add any new jpg files. I get a
broken link image in the browser, or nothing at all. All of the
file paths appear to be correct. The flash swf files test fine in
the browser before I add them to the page in Dreamweaver. New text
content and the layout are updating fine, the jpegs and swf files
are just not showing up, its as if the files did not exist in the
    site.
I have been struggling with this for several days and tried
many different ways of finding the problem, but no success this is
    turrning into a nightmare.
    Please help- anyone.

Post a link to the pages, please.

  • Content doesn't display

Recently, my home versin of Framemaker 10 refuse to display content. I have opened several files that I created in FM 10 but I get a blank page display. when i close the file, I will often get a flicker on the screen showing the that the content is indeed there, just not displayed for editing.
Any one have a similar experience and hopefully some advice on solving this?

I have opened several files that I created in FM 10 but I get a blank  page display. when i close the file, I will often get a flicker on the  screen showing the that the content is indeed there, just not displayed  for editing.
If you create a new document, can you see the text?
When you open an old, and click-drag the text select cursor where text should be, does it look like anything is being selected?
There are a number of ways the text could be there, but be invisible or hidden. Some snap guesses:
a Condition Code got applied and is set to Hide
text color got set to white
text color isn't white, but whatever it is is set to Invisible in Color Views
Master Page layouts got trashed, shoving text out of view
    black got redefined

  • Flash chart doesn't display cyrillic characters

    Hi !
Please give me you advise to solve my problem...
I tried to write X-axis labels on 2D-column chart using Cyrillic characters.
If I set "Labels Rotation" to a value more than 0 chart does not display labels. If labels consists of Cyrillic and Latin characters then only Latin characters are displayed.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Best regards,
    Renat.

    That is possible.
The rotation functionality within html, if I understand it correctly, actually generates a graphic and rotates that rather than rotates the individual characters. It could be that this functionality just isn't designed for the characters you need.
This may be something you need to research on Adobe's website?

  • Flash player doesn't display correctly

  • Changed my version to 28 about a month ago and since then the rich content doesn't display, my gmail looks like something from 1998.

Gmail looks like the content is from the nineties, except all the Javascript seems to be working. Everything moves, swivels, or does what it's supposed to, only in a visually impoverished way, to the point of being unusable (for purely affective reasons). • Table set to Autofit to Contents doesn't display correctly in RH10

Upgraded from RH9 to RH10 and all my tables are set to Autofit to Contents.  After upgrading, the first column of every table is huge/wide, therefore, it's very difficult to work with the remaining columns because they're so condensed.  I've been waiting for an answer to this issue for over 2 months from RH support so thought I'd see if anyone else is experiencing the same problem and if so, if they found a resolution.

I am seeing the same in a new table created from one of the default tables that ships with RoboHelp. Looks like a bug.
If you use Fit to Window, it works. The choice is to live with the bug or switch to another option.
    You should report the bug.

  • Get IE8 to display Flash content

Does anyone have a bullet proof method for embedding Flash content so that it shows in all flavors of IE8 WITHOUT having the user change settings on their machine?
I'm working on a project that was tested by a couple of people who could see the content then click on a link in the Flash content which loads a URL in the same page THEN when they hit the back button in their IE browser the Flash content doesn't show.
I was using SWFObject to embed but have switched to a simple method shown below:
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="cdbwidget" data="CDBabyStore_widget.swf?customerID=xhWv7J5EP8fi22rByrPcVg%3d%3d&byType=ByCustomer&si teURL=document.referrer&colorScheme=0x000000,0xE0E0E0,0xCCCCCC,0x666666,0x333333,0xFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFF" width="550" height="575">
        <param name="movie" value="CDBabyStore_widget.swf?customerID=xhWv7J5EP8fi22rByrPcVg%3d%3d&byType=ByCustomer&s iteURL=document.referrer&colorScheme=0x000000,0xE0E0E0,0xCCCCCC,0x666666,0x333333,0xFFFFFF ,0xFFFFFF" />
    </object>
I've tested this on Windows 7 running IE7, 8 & 9 and it works flawlessly but two people are having the issue I noted above.
    Thanks for any tips.

In a nutshell, if you've tested it and it works, it works. The two people who are having problems (there will probably be thousands more worldwide) have a setting in their Internet Options or in Windows that is causing the problem.
You might want to run this through the Flash and Dreamweaver forums as well to get some more insight from people who are more skilled at Flash integration and older browser compatibility.

  • Why is my flash content not working on my dreamweaver created html site?

This is a problem that's happening on my website I'm creating.  I created a quick test website to show you the problem on the fourm.  It's the same problem, and if you can provide the solution to this test website I can apply it to my main website.
    Test website on server:
    test331754952.net23.net
    What I did:
    -launched flash
-typed "test" and made it spin 360 degrees
    -published swf
    -launched dreamweaver
    -created a site
    -moved swf to site folder
-saved a html file to the site folder
-in dreamweaver, went to insert, media, swf, then selected the swf I made
-it inserted the swf, creating a gray placeholder for it
-re-saved the html document, at which point dreamweaver created a folder named script and 2 files, an swf, and a javascript file
    Site Directory:
    Scripts Sub-Directory:
    What happens:
-when I launch the swf on my machine, it plays fine
-when I open the swf directly on the test website on the server, it plays fine
-when I open the html with the embended swf on the test website on the server, it shows a gray box, then goes white
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in browser and choose internet explorer, it tells me I don't have new flashplayer(I do: flashplayer 11)
Ie also pokes up a box at the bottom that says its not allowing content.  When I click allow content, it creates a gray box
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in borwser and choose google chrome, it tells me flash player has stopped a potentionally unsafe operation.  When I close this dialog box, it gives me a gray box where my swf should be embeded.
-I've tried changing global flash secuirty setting and it does nothing
-I've tried visiting the test website on multiple computers in my household to no avail
-I've tried having friends visit the site on their computer at their house to no avail
-I did't touch the code on this test website-the code is exactly what dreamweaver generated

There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
    <param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).
    Best wishes,
