Can my 3G be made to see Flash content in websites? Is there a version of Flash for iPhones?

Adobe has said developing flash for Safari for the iPhone is more difficult than they thought.

  • Create Flash Content for Pocket PC "Windows Mobile 2003 SE" from Flash Professional 8

    Hi all,
I would like to create a standalone flash application on my
two pocket PCs (Dell Axim x50 and Qtek S110). These pocket PC
uses the "Windows Mobile 2003 SE" operating system.
At this time, I have installed the "Flash Player 7 for Pocket
PC" on my 2 pocketPCs. Apparently, I have not flash player
    application
that is able to load .swf files but only a plugin for Pocket
    IE. Do you confirm?
I have the license to use "Flash Professional 8". Could you
explain me the procedure to publish flash content for my Pocket PC?
Which Flash version I have to use?
Which Action Script I have to use?
Is it possible to test my application with Flash Pro 8?
Finally, I would like to develop a Flash application in
fullscreen mode and not embedded into Pocket IE. Is it possible to
    realize
    that with Flash Pro 8?
    Sincerely,
    Romain

    Hi Romain.
As at the time of this writing,
I suggest you have a look at Flash Assist by AntMobile
    (www.antmobile.com)
It will allow you to view Flash content at full screen.
It officially supports Flash 5 and 6, but I've used it with
    Flash 7 for the PPC.
Flash 7 for the PPC supports AS 2.0
Macromedia hasn't released a stand alone player /
distribution Kit, or CDK for Flash Player 7 for the PPC, and I am
    anxiously awaiting that as well.
However, the stand alone player for the Flash Player 6 for
    the PPC is available
You will want to change your publish settings to Flash 7,
    AS2.0
    Do some hunting around.

  • Autorun CD-ROM with flash content on website

I have two websites with Flash content that I need to put on
a CD-ROM for a presentation on a computer with spotty internet.
I've created the autorun part fine, but here's my issue. When the
html page pulls up in a browser and the link to the Flash content
is clicked, I get a security warning that " Adobe Flash Player has
stopped a potentially unsafe operation." Everything is on the CD -
nothing should be trying to access the internet - and I'm looking
for a way to override this security warning without having to
rebuild the flash files. So far, most of the info I've found deals
with changing something on the user's computer, but is there a fix
that can reside on the CD (so the user doesn't have to do anything,
    or ever see the warning?)
    Thanks!

The basics of what you are asking is pretty easy to do in
    Director. To
make a menu, just import your graphics including buttons.
    Create a
frame label on the timeline for each video. On each button,
    add the
behaviour named 'Jump to Marker Button' (it is in the Library
    under
Behaviours, Controls). Pick the appropriate label for each
    button in
the resulting popup. Then import your video and place one on
    each
frame. Put the 'Go Loop' behaviour on each of these frames
    (in the
frame channel). That behaviour is in the Library under
    Behaviours,
    Navigation.
Depending upon how your movies are setup, the rest will be
    different
(i.e. are the Quicktime, avi, wmv, RealVideo, etc?). But the
    Library
has behaviours for a lot of them, and building custom scripts
    is pretty
easy as well if you can put forth the effort to learn Lingo.
    It is
actually among the easiest to learn languages in my opinion.

  • How important is it to have non-flash content for iPAD?

    Hi there.
I'm busy building a site with an image rotater in the header with a couple of images from the products. This rotater works with flash which does not work with iPAD. How important do you rate it to definitely have non-flash content as to have the odd cosmetic slide show here and there?

Wonder why iOS does not like flash?
    Hi
On Android devices the reason given for dropping support, (or no support in the case of iOS) was because it was literally possible to watch the battery power indicator drop whilst watching anything that required flash.
On a Samsung Galaxy it only required 7 minutes of Flash video to drain the battery, and on an Android budget tablet I also use for testing, (sub £150)  3 minutes.

I have the same issue with the other site aswell so its not just an issue with one site.

It happens on firefox and chrome
    WIndows 8 OS

Did you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall?

  • Adobe flash player for  LG Vortex

well if its all true  that there is no way to put the adobe flash player on my lg vortex phone.then thats not good ..if there is a way please help thanks

Ok I got this phone black friday. Its a nice phone especially for free but the sale people nor Zach apparently have been educated on the phone, or they are intentionally misrepresenting it. At best it comes with the flash lite player, so if you have a flash file it might play, but it will not view flash websites and actually play the flash content.  Skyfire browser runs the flash content for you so you can download that app and use it to access a lot of flash content you wouldn't normally be able to.  I don't know about bubs opera mobile advice because I can't get opera mobile to actually play any flash content at all...so I have no idea what sites he is getting to work. My guess is he is mistaking the mobile or html version of the site for the actual flash site when it isn't....are you actually seeing animations and flash videos play right there in the browser bub?
Furthermore from reading the android forums and researching online I have found out this phone is based on an ARM6 processor and there seems to be a lot of doubt that this processor is compatible with flash and will ever be able to use it except in limited ways through apps like skyfire regardless of how they attempt to update the froyo software for the phone.  The methods to install flash directly like  for eclair phones and stuff online to try and get flash to work on this phone do not work, have tried several times and haven't yet read one success story where the writer could actually verify the were viewing flash content for real. It seems again they are mistaking mobile or html versions of the site for flash sites. Yes you can usually view a site like syfy.com but you don't see the actual animated flash content nor can you watch the vids right there in the browser.
This phone was misrepresented to me by the sales people as letting you view flash content websites as they are meant to be viewed. If it can play a flash file, or at least let you view the non flash version of a website then I guess technically it is flash capable and the sales person didn't actually lie but they dang well knew I was talking about viewing flash content in browser because I straight up said as much. It was also misrepresented as a google experience device which it isn't...ya it comes with a google search app i think but the thing defaults to bing and tries to force you to use it every chance it gets and bing sux.
Overall I like the phone but I'm angry because while in the store i had a chance to use a 50 dollar instant rebate towards another phone and could have got a model that was truly flash capable with a faster processor (1ghz instead of 600mhz), a better camera or at least one with a flash and possibly more internal mimory  for a little more cash out of pocket. Instead they used the rebate to give my parents back the 50 right there in store instead of having to mail in the rebate and wait awhile...so chances are there is no way to get that instant rebate back and apply it towards a new phone if I use my 30 day option to return the phone for another...which btw they charge you a $35 dollar restocking fee to do on top of any extra cost for the new phone.
So basically because various verizon employees don't seem to know much about this phone or are intentionally misrepresenting it... I and probably many others will be stuck with a phone for the next 2 years that doesn't actually do the things we were told or led to believe it can do....not without spending a lot of cash out of pocket to upgrade at least, or waiting till our contract expires. It isn't flash capable, and because of the arm6 based processor likely never will be except in a limited way with apps like skyfire that basically do the flash content on their own servers and stream it to the phone, nor is it a true google experience device and the crappy processor means for a new phone it won't be nearly as fast or capable with some apps especially higher end games then other smart phones through verizon.
So this being my first phone through verizon, I'm overall satisfied but not impressed with the knowledge of the sales people I encountered in the store or the knowledge of their online reps so far. I could have ended up with a phone I'll get a lot more use out of and enjoy more but instead I'm stuck with a decent phone overall but one that doesn't meet my needs really.  On the upside you can use eztv app to download torrents, and an app called Orb to stream files from your pc to your phone in a quite watchable way even on the vortex, there are also remote desktop apps that are very handy so in most cases one way or another you can usually view the content you want on your phone some how....just not the easiest way possible in many cases.

  • No sound in any flash content

    Hi.
I have this weird problem. I have no sound in any flash content. Websites with sound I cannot hear. Applications using flash player does'nt put out any sound.
I have the volume turned up on my speakers and am able to listen to music from iTunes, also music and videos played with Quicktime sound comes out fine.
It's the same problem whether I use Safari, Firefox, Camino or directly via the adobe flash 8 software.
Could this be a virus or a bug in flash player? Is there some hidden setting I can adjust?
I am using an intel 20" iMac.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks
    Vayu

  • Flash content freezing my system!

    Hey there,
I've been having an issue with Flash content for the past three weeks now, I've tried just about anything and I'm becoming desperate. I've conducted a wide variety of tests on the various components in my build, but I'm still no closer to discovering what the issue may be.
    The Issue
Occasionally, when watching Flash content, my computer will freeze and I'll lose all control over the mouse and keyboard. It sounds like the computer is about to blue screen (looping audio), but it doesn't - it just hangs on the same image for anywhere between 15 seconds to 2 minutes. Sometimes, I need to hard restart my system in order to use the computer again.
This will typically happen when Flash content is played full-screen on websites like YouTube and Twitch.tv, and on resolutions higher than 480p - but I have experienced (less frequent) crashes when the content is not full-screen, at 360p. It just seems to be video that causes the problem, as I've yet to have any issues with websites that present an alternative form of Flash content.
    Hardware:
    Processor: Intel i5-2500K @ 3.30GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 1280MB
    Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W
    Nothing is overclocked.
    I’ve uploaded my DxDiag here.
What have I done to try and diagnose the problem?
    Enabled and disabled hardware acceleration.
Updated to latest graphics card drivers, also rolled back to previous versions I’ve known to work previously with my system.
Monitored system usage/temperatures when watching HD Flash content. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Ran Memtestx86 for 24 hours. No errors.
Ran Prime95 Blend for 24 hours. No errors.
FurMark for 2 hours to test graphics card stability, things seemed fine. I have been playing Far Cry 3 continuously on high settings for the past few days with zero instability.
I’ve tried downloading older versions of Flash, and using different browsers.  No change.
    When did it start?
The issue started when I updated the BIOS for my motherboard (ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3) from v1.20 to v2.20, since then I've updated to v2.30. I would roll back to v1.20, but it’s simply not possible according to various sources I’ve read online.
    Thoughts
I’m pretty sure my hardware is fine. All the tests I’ve done indicate my system is stable when I’m not running Flash content. I’ve been playing games, writing documents for university and browsing the internet with absolutely no issues (as long as I don’t watch any Flash content). Therefore, I suspect there are compatibility issues with Flash, my hardware setup and the latest BIOS updates from ASRock, but maybe I’ve missed something. If you’ve got any ideas PLEASE leave a reply. I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure out what’s going on here, some help would be great.
    Cheers!

What is your display adapter, and what device driver version do you have installed?

  • How to Enable Flash Content?

When opening a pdf document we recieve the attached Warning message. Is there a way to enable flash content for all documents?  Or, is it recommended, for security, to allow flash on a per document basis?  Is there a article explaning this. I would like to pass the article on the the users that are having trouble.
    Thank you

    Hi
Sure, without plugins enabled you'd have seen no flash at all, even the settings manager, not just the 3rd party error message,
Ok, so the check box won't check - I'd delete the file settings.sol which you oughtta find in
    Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/macromedia.com/support/flashplayer/sys/
or just trash everything inside the Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/ folder
do the above with browsers closed.
the default is to allow 3rd party access, so hopefully that'll fix it.
If it doesn't, check the permissions on the Macromedia folder - it should be Read & Write for your user name.
I think it'll be the main Macromedia folder, since experimenting here shows the box is checkable no matter what the access is for the settings.sol file; but making Home/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/ read only... stops the boxes from working.
    Here's hoping eh

  • Sluggishness when viewing Flash contents

Im not sure when, but probably after I updated my Firefox
from v1.5 to 2.0, I experienced sluggishness whenever there's Flash
    contents in websites.
I realised the quality is set to high by default. And that
caused the sluggishness. How to configure the quality setting so
that I can change it to Medium as default? Because whenever I
change manually by right clicking on the flash content as set it to
'medium', if i close the broswer and reopened (or even refresh the
page), the quality flash content is set to high again as default.
anyone can help me with this? Thanks

This isn't just an issue with FF2. I have experienced this
issue on both FF 1.0.5 and 1.5.
The more flash content, the worse FF responds.

  • Browser crash when printing flash content

I am posting this here because I scoured the web looking for an answer and did not find one.
    OS: 10.4.11
    Browser: Safari 4.1.2, Firefox 3.6.11
    Problem:
Any time I try to print flash content, for example, games or printables from PBSkids.com, my browser would go to the spinning beach ball and crash. Issue affected Safari and Firefox.
Latest version of Flash was installed 10.1.x
Fix: Downgraded to Flash 9. Problem solved am once again able to print flash content such as the examples above.

    HI Ernest,
If Safari is crashing, post a crash report so we can try and help.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • FAQ: How to optimize Flash content?

Keith Gladstein, (Yes, its kglad) provides highly useful techniques to tweak Flash content for optimal performance. See http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/optimizing-flash-performance.html.

You don't.  Adobe was never able to provide a version of Flash for iOS that Apple would accept, and is no longer trying.  There are some web browsers that can be found on the App Store that will run some Flash sites, but with limited success.  See More Like This to the right for more information.

  • Possible Stage3D bug causes flash content to not redraw?

    Hi all,
I am developing a mixed Stage3D application with flash content for the UI. It happens that since a certain flash version the flash content is not being redrawn/refreshed. For example, if I create a popup (or close it) the flash content is not refreshed until I move the mouse.
If I remove the Stage3D content from my App it works well.
It works well on chrome with flash 11,5,31,139 but it does not work on the latest flash version 11,5,502,146 on Firefox and IE.
Is it a bug? or I am missing anything?
    Best regards.

Could you give this a try with our recently released Flash Player 11.6?  If it still occurs, please open a new bug report on this issue over at bugbase.adobe.com.
Once the bug has been added, please post back with the bug URL or bug number so that others effected can add their comments and votes.  I'll also follow up internally.
    Thanks,
    Chris
