FLash content in ssi nav.html?

I have a flash banner in my nav.html. My nav.html is called
on each flatpage by using a ssi. The problem is that I don't want
the banner movie to restart everytime someone clicks a link to a
new flat page... how can I prevent this?

Hi,
it might be true what you read, but there are downsites to
both methods, in most cases the flush of local shared objects
works, cookies might be more reliable in that case (I don't really
know) but there might be issues of browseres and especially issues
of javascript to flash communication.
I'd go for the local shared object as flushing it every half
second really should do to restart near where you left. As loading
a new page will make everything unsmooth anyhow.

  • Why is my flash content not working on my dreamweaver created html site?

This is a problem that's happening on my website I'm creating.  I created a quick test website to show you the problem on the fourm.  It's the same problem, and if you can provide the solution to this test website I can apply it to my main website.
    Test website on server:
    test331754952.net23.net
    What I did:
    -launched flash
-typed "test" and made it spin 360 degrees
    -published swf
    -launched dreamweaver
    -created a site
    -moved swf to site folder
-saved a html file to the site folder
-in dreamweaver, went to insert, media, swf, then selected the swf I made
-it inserted the swf, creating a gray placeholder for it
-re-saved the html document, at which point dreamweaver created a folder named script and 2 files, an swf, and a javascript file
    Site Directory:
    Scripts Sub-Directory:
    What happens:
-when I launch the swf on my machine, it plays fine
-when I open the swf directly on the test website on the server, it plays fine
-when I open the html with the embended swf on the test website on the server, it shows a gray box, then goes white
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in browser and choose internet explorer, it tells me I don't have new flashplayer(I do: flashplayer 11)
Ie also pokes up a box at the bottom that says its not allowing content.  When I click allow content, it creates a gray box
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in borwser and choose google chrome, it tells me flash player has stopped a potentionally unsafe operation.  When I close this dialog box, it gives me a gray box where my swf should be embeded.
-I've tried changing global flash secuirty setting and it does nothing
-I've tried visiting the test website on multiple computers in my household to no avail
-I've tried having friends visit the site on their computer at their house to no avail
-I did't touch the code on this test website-the code is exactly what dreamweaver generated

There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
    <param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).

  • Can't embed a flash content in html air program

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="72" height="22"><param name="movie" value="app:/upload.swf"></param></object>
if the tag <transparent>true</transparent> in the application.xml, the flash content can't show:
but when i remove the tag <transparent>true</transparent>,the flash show:
is this an air runtime bug?
how could i make the flash show?
btw: i need the tag <transparent>true</transparent> in application.xml.

    Hi,
I think this is known limitation for SWF rendering, see 1.5.* release notes:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/air/1_5_1/releasenotes_developers.html#issue s
SWF content in applications using transparent windows
SWF content in HTML does not display properly for applications using transparent windows.
I'd advise to ask A team for status of that issue in subsequent releases,
    regards,

  • Overlay Flash content with HTML

I have been working to fix a layout that uses DHTML menus and
has Flash in the middle of the page... Like many others I am having
some issues with the DHTML menu not overlaying the Flash content.
I have read this post :
    Fixing
Safari's wmode flicker that looked to be the solution but in
this case it did not work all together...
    Here is a
    link to the site...
I had tried using an class on the <li> tags that gave
it a background image. This worked in IE 6 & 7 and FF on Mac
but it did not work on FF on Windows... I thought that might be as
close as I could get for the moment so I added in SWFobject for my
Flash detection and Alt display and now none of the above works at
    all...
So my question is... What is the "Best Standard" for
accomplishing this overlay of Flash with HTML content?
If you can provide relative links to the topic for reference
that would be helpful too... I've only been able to locate a few
with one being here in the CSS Advisor beta.

Correction: This class with on the <li> tag corrected
this in all browsers except Safari... When I added the SWFobject
for detection / alt content it caused the overlay to no longer
    function.

  • Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ?

I'm new in DPS, just started for a couple of weeks and I need to use a image in an animation.
I created the animation in inDesign exported in .fla, used de toolkit js, load it in a container with web content overlay, and when I preview it with Adobe Content Viewer it doesn't work, it apears a blank screen. Neighter of animation from that stage won't work.
To be very precise any animation works fine, when I test the html in a browser, the problem appears only in the content viewer.
The animation is very simple: smal logo entering in the stage from the right, not very complex.
I tried in flash with other images in a test file and loaded in inDesign, and still don't work. Other vector animation works well, no problem. I saw that if I have an image in library in flash and export a simple animation with a vector ball, won't work in indesign preview, with content viewer.
My question is, Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ?  If so, what should I need to do ?
    Thank you in advance.

Two possible solutions I was considering:
    1) In my index/first page, have all the swfs present (scaled to 1x1, behind something, or invisible) and have a preloader code on that first page... so all the content gets loaded before continuing onto the rest of the site.  That would certainly work in making the site run quick... but would mean a relatively lengthy wait at the start.  Luckily, unlike my current site, all the actual site content (aside from the header/nav interface) is HTML... so the bulk of the site's content is in the HTML pages, not as part of the Flash header... so it probably wouldn't be too horrific a wait.  However, it would be loading EIGHT of these swfs, since there are eight pages... so then maybe it would be....
    2) Have an swf that consists of just the 'draw up' of the interface, and it's idle state... then when each button is pressed, load a new swf to replace the main one, which has the specific page's animated title sequence, and ends with the code to load the html page.  So, each separate HTML page would have embedded into it only the main swf, and the title animation swf would be swapped in when a nav button is pressed.  Main issue here is each button press would envoke a preloader sequence (kind of tedious)... and unfortunately all the 'main interface' elements loaded in with the main swf would have to be loaded in again at the start of each animated title swf (although none of the draw up... just the loading of the interface and buttons).  For highspeed users, it should be okay, I guess....
    Thoughts or better ideas?

  • Flash downloading blocks page nav

I know my actionscript better than I know the browser
environment, although I'm getting to grips with javascript because
of the similarity. But some things like this are uncharted
    territory...
With a couple of flv players downloading some 3Mb and 7Mb
flvs after the web page has rendered, the page nav in the
containing page is blocked. So a click on a nav button (not flash)
    in the
    will
result in a new page load, but it waits until what I assume is
one of two simulaneous http connection slots are freed up. This can
take a while depending on the user's connection speed and is
unusual/unexpected/sub-standard behaviour for a web page. Having
the two videos loading simultaneously is a requirement rather than
    sequencing the loads.
I know that browsers are limited to the number of
simultaneous connections to a single domain for many reasons and
that standards come into play. The flvs here are hosted at the same
    domain.
I've built optional delay flashvars for each player to
permitting staggering them somewhat but that's a guess at best and
won't solve the problem for everyone and could disadvantage some
with very fast connections. I should mention that the target user
is a business client so broadband users and the requirement is that
the videos are ready to play asap.
I understand that placing the media in another domain is an
option because the browser connections limit applies per domain. I
also know you can change the settings for browsers to increase the
connections per domain, but that's not helpful here... and that
    some browsers are less restrictive.
What I would like to know is:
Is there any simple way in flash to allow the regular html
page nav to work as normal when flash has a stranglehold on the two
simultaneous connections. Am I missing something obvious? TIA,
    GWD

    @clbeech: thanks for your reply.
I've thought of things like using javascript via
ExternalInterface to tell the players to change the contentPaths of
the flvplaybacks to nonexistent files (I know that works for
NetStream, don't know if it works for FLVPlayback). But I was only
asked to work on the flash content for the page and if possible
preferred to avoid making a requirement to add in extra js for the
website developer and have the nav behave differently for that
page. If that's the only way apart from using a separate domain for
the media then I guess that's what I'll have to do.
What I don't understand is why a browser page request doesn't
over-ride the grip that flash has on the http connections... and
perhaps there's something simple that I'm missing in either being
able to do this or understanding the fundamentals of why it doesn't
make sense to permit it in terms of how browsers work.
Anyhow I can identify so far four solutions
    - other domain hosting of the content(not desirable)
    - configurable loading delays for starting the downloads
(already in place, but not really a solution)
    - force single load queueing (not desirable)
    - javascript/ExternalInterface to tell flash players to
"stop" download to free up connections
    Thanks again.GWD

  • My website navigation bar falls behind the flash content

    Hello All,
    i have the website, http://www.retailtechnologyexperts.com
and am using safari 4 and to be precise..it is safari 4(530.17)
i have made almost all the changes,,but the navigation bar falls behind the flash content on the homepage..i have checked this in all the other browsers like,,ie8, ie7, firefox, chrome,,they are responding positively,,by displaying the flash behind the nav bar...
i was initially having a problem with various browsers...but one by one,,i was able to clear off...but am not able to clear the problem with safari 4
safari being widely used browser..i dont want to mess up my site here...
any help will be greatly appreciated..
    thank u,,

    It works here but...
The pitfall of Flash and movie/video media is they tent to be on top of everything on a web page. No matter what the z space is set for the Flash media in the html code. Use to be called, "rising to the top."
So, that being said...just because it works on my computer doesn't mean it will work on another computer. There a big chance that the menu will fall behind the Flash media for other viewers. Move the Flash or redesign the menu.
You might not like this answer but that is the way it is with media on a web page.

  • Flash contents not being displayed on the published Apex application URL

I've had to publish one of my apex application through an bluecoat proxy to reach my Oracle HTTP server. It works fantastic for everything - except my flash charts. Flash contents are not getting loaded.Issue is only in the published application URL,the same application is working fine internally without proxy.
Does anyone have any idea why this is failing and how I might fix this?.The bluecoat support enginner is having the following findings
I am seeing some strange behavior when the browser goes through the
proxy vs when it does not.
When the browser uses the proxy the last thing it requests is the
    following(packet 354):

    That is the browser requests
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and gets a
    200 ok from the proxy/server.
When the browser does not use the proxy I see the following
    behavior(packet 2783):
    The browser requests
    http://anupserver:7777/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif 2 times, each time
the server responds with a 304 not modified status, this means the
browser has the most recent copy of the .gif file. The browser finally
does a post to http://anupserver:7777/pls/apex/wwv_flow.accept. Given
that the browser gets a 200 ok response from the proxy when requesting
    http://ithelpdesk.anupcomp.ae/i/themes/theme_20/btn-bg.gif and then
stops requesting data, we need to understand why the browser is behaving
differently without the proxy(i.e. why does it request the content 2
times and why is it doing the post). The interaction between the
browser and the proxy appears normal, a 200 ok response with content is
normal, why does the browser stop requesting content?

  • Flash Content on the BBC in Safari 5.0.6

This question applies to my G5 2.5 gHz Tower running Safari 5.0.6. and an issue with Flash content on the BBC News website.
I often the BBC News website, and until a few months ago was able to play all of their video content.  For some inexplicable reason their website now tells me I do not have the minimum Flash version (10.1.0) for playback.  However, I do have the minimum Flash installation (v.10.1.102.64) as confirmed by the Adobe web site, and, seconded by the simple fact that Firefox 3.6.25 on the very same computer does play all the content at the BBC News web site and fails to generate any warnings.
So, Mac gurus and assorted experts who have earned my depest respect... what's going on?  I have written to those in charge of the BBC News web site and indications are they probably didn't read my message past the subject line as they proceeded to ask me all the questions they'd have had answers to by reading my message in the first place.  In short, they asked me to upgrade to Flash 10.1.0... so that route is not going solve my problem.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks...

BBC iPlayer relies on Adobe Air. AIR 1.5.3 is the last version of AIR that supports Mac PowerPC and Windows 2000. AIR applications that require AIR 2 or later cannot be installed or used on a Macintosh PowerPC or a computer running the Windows 2000 operating system.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/853/cpsid_85304.html
I am in the same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:

    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

  • IE8 Error when opening Pop-up with Flash Content

I am running into a problem creating a webpage.  I am very new to AS3 and not quite a novice at Dw CS3.  I have audio files and flash content that is downloadable from my page.  The audio is made available by clicking on a flash button that links to an mp3 or wav file.  The player then opens and plays the file.  I also created some flash animations that are accessed by flash buttons I also created and put on my webpage.  I added scripting (AS3) for those buttons that defines a pop-up window size and points to an html page to put into the pop-up window.  I'm really not sure if this script is the most efficient.  It probably isn't. The script is below: (Note: I could not paste it in so I retyped it.  Don't know why, but the script works even though there might be syntax errors below.)
//define variable "jscommand" that has URL to open and pop-up window parameters
    var jscommand:String="window.open('Multiplication.html,'miniwindow','height=440,width=605,toolbar=yes,scrollbar=no');";
//define variable "openflashURL" which runs "jscommand"
    var openflashURL:URLRequest("javascript"+jscommand+"void(0);");
//define function "openflashdown" that initiates URL request
    function openflashdown(Event:MouseEvent):void{
    NavigateToURL(openflashURL,"_self"};
          //define button listener
    Mult_FlashPlayer_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,openflashdown);
The problem is as follows:  When I click on the flash buttons that use the above script, I get a pop-up window with the .swf in it and everything runs fine.  Next, when I click on an audio button, the mp3 file downloads and the player (Real) begins to play it.  But if I try to open up the flash animation again I get this error message from IE8 "Unspecified Error  Internet Explorer cannot download".
I tried to find anwsers on-line and I found another person with a similar problem.  Their solution was to take the javascript code out of the flash button coding and put it in the html page directly.  I took the first line on code in the above and put it in the html code.  Dw did not recognize it as code but as text.  I don't know where to go from here.  Does anyone know what to do?  I'm a beginner so please be as clear as you can be.

Try uninstalling your sound card driver in Device Manager and reboot your PC.

  • How to centre Flash content in browser window?

    Hi there
I'm relatively new to Flash, so maybe there's a simple answer to this one.
How do I centre my Flash content horizontally in the browser window? In the Publish Settings I see there are options to align the HTML to Default, Left, Right, Top and Bottom, but no Center. Is there a setting somewhere else? Do I need to write some ActionScript to do this? (If so, what?)
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.
    (I'm using CS3 on a Mac.)

OK, I'm fumbling around a bit here. I see now that the Flash content does resize to fit the window. So, back to my original question: how can I get it to keep its original size but stay centered horizontally in the window?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • SSI of HTML file using SpryAssets

    Hi,
I've saved a navigation header for my website in a nav.html
file. I'm trying to get another file, test.shtml, to use
server-side includes to include nav.html into it.
However, the nav.html file was built in DW using a Spry Menu
Bar, which stores its files in a directory SpryAssets.
I have the following statement located right after my
<body> tag, so it appears at the top of the webpage:
    <!--#include file="nav.html" -->
The design view in DW shows the nav.html file included, but
menu-bar is expanded to look like normal text. The DW preview
doesn't show the nav.html being there at all.
Any ideas how to solve this? The nav.html file sits in the
same directory as test.shtml, and looks great when I open nav.html
    alone.
    Thanks in advance. -Gary

An Include is a code fragment, not an entire page.
It should not contain <html> or <body> tags, just
    the snippet of code that
you are replacing the Include directive with.
As currently set up, your page code will look like this once
    the Include has
been processed by the server and "included" in the main page
    code:
This means duplicate doctypes, head tags etc etc which won't
    work.

  • Win8.1/Chrome 64bit: NPAPI Flash Player crashes on every page with Flash content

    Hi,
Chrome 64bit (beta+) crashes on Win8.1 64bit, if I use the NPAPI Flash Player (v15 beta or v14 stable) and open a website with Flash content.
    More details here:
    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=402262

Turning off NPAPI in Chrome 64-bit will be a very bad move. I'm using a Windows 7 Setup, with a Core2Quad 65 nm CPU and a pathetic Geforce GT 8500 GPU that is basically worthless. PPAPI  flash betas are available as a standalone now at this point, but I have done lots of side by side comparisons, and the PPAPI plugin is absolute garbage compared to the far superior Netscape architecture based plugin. I'm not the only one saying that. I have found loads of forums, and instruction videos online to fix Chrome video playback on youtube for instance. I have to install "Magic Actions for Youtube" addon for chrome so that I can disable HTML5. then I have to go into the plugins menu on chrome and disable pepper flash. I keep the 64 bit flash betas regularly updated this way, and I am getting peak performance. Once in a blue moon it will crash, but I think that is Google's fault. HTML5 should not be the default option in youtube. Compared to Flash, it does not have great GPU acceleration ability, and HTML5 in 64-bit doesn't even perform superior to 32 bit web browsers, where as 64 bit flash is a leap forward, as long as it's the NPAPI version, that is. Problems I have with the HTML5 and also Pepperflash are very similar.   The audio is out of sync with video, and the cpu is maxed out from memory leaking. I'm skipping frames and seeing glitches left and right. The seek functions in pepperflash never work right on youtube, you have to click an inch before wherever you want the video to play. On and on. Pepper flash has audio crackle. You can't get rid of the crackle from pepper flash or HTML 5. Yet, with NPAPI 64 bit flash beta in 64 bit chrome canary it plays PERFECTLY. once in a while I have it crash, which i think is the fault of the fact that I have to use an add on to force off HTML5. Why would I want html5, when flash NPAPI  64 bit produces superior picture quality on all quality settings. It's better in every conceivable way. Shame on Google for not putting more care into 64-bit flash on 64-bit Chrome. It couldn't possibly be a more important deal! You can tell pepperflash and HTML 5.0 are an afterthought. It's only youtube playback quality. why would that matter to google? OMG...
While I'm at it, I have one other issue that blows my mind. Adding command line flags in Chrome 64-bit (Canary) in Windows. Why do we have to add them through a shortcut in the "target" line? The target line runs out of space after 3 or 4 commands! I wish they would update Chrome Canary to allow for unlimited command lines to be added. It should be an option to add Command Lines on the About:Flags screen. I am so disappointed in these two glaring issues. It keeps me up at night.

  • Dreamweaver embedded flash content will not load in IE7

    My company standard is IE7
I'm charged with developing flv that will auto play on PC from a removable thumb drive.
in addition it should be able to launch a url.
I'm using CS4 Flash and Dreamweaver
    developing on a Mac.
I've used action script 3 to program buttons that start, stop and launch url
I've worked everything out on a Mac.it works fine in Mac environment.
I've gotten swf files to autoplay on PC
    the PROBLEM?
when I try load the html web page on the PC with IE7 the flash content (either a swf or flv embedded using Dreamweaver) does not load.
IF I leave the IE specific html in the code IE7 returns a message that flash player needs to update. - IT has installed the latest version of flash player.
if I extract the sniffer/alternative code the flash content does not load there is no message
If the swf file auto loads and plays then Why is that a problem?
action script -  to launch url execution launches as a security warning and the trusted settings window
    not very seamless eh?
so the alternative is to play the flash content embedded in html and create launch url button in html . . . but ofcourse flash content won't load in IE7.
I've not been able to test the code on any other version of IE
I hope this is enough information to help if not let me know what you need to know . . .
thanks in advance for any time you all spend on this.

So right now you have a SWF file that plays and FLV file and it's not loading in IE7.  Is the testing server that you are using NOT on your local machine?  The reason I ask this is because IE will typically block content if it is hosted on the local machine and treat it as a security risk, prompting the message you refer to.
Also would it be possible for us to see the code you are using for the plugin?  Most users here will be able to help troubleshoot any issues with the HTML code if we can see it, however, there is a possibility that the fix may be in Flash, in which case you should cross-post this in the Flash forum as well for assistance just in case.

To the moderator I apologize for an earlier "test" post I was unaware nay ignorant of a test forum . . .

I am having the very same problem and have done exactly the same... generated my html through flash professional CS5.  It works great in IE8 but is just a blank page in IE7.  You did not post the solution, did you find one?
My flash generated code is here http://www.asessippi.com/test/calendar.html will all of the supporting files in the same folder, and nothing else in there.
    Any suggestions?
