Flash crashes on movie export?

I am having a huge problem with Flash CS3. Every time, ( and
I DO mean
every time) I try to export a movie in swf format, Flash
crashes. I'm not quite sure what the problem is but it's
duplicatable each time.
I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and that
does not work. At this point Flash is useless to me.
I realize, it's kind of a generic problem, but because I am
desperate, can anyone tell me what might be the problem?
Here are my machine stats:
1.90 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
128 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache
1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

Moved from 'Using Flash Player' as this appears to be a Flash Authoring question.

  • 5.0.5 crashes during movie export

After updating on 5.0.5. every time I try to export project, Motion crashes. Any help?

I assume from your posting that you have tried multiple new projects, which eliminates project file corruption as a possibility.  At this point I would reinstall Motion as the next step to try. An alternative would be to eliminate any corrupted events. Did you use the same events in all the projects which failed to share? You could put the existing events in a new folder called Final Cut Events Hidden, for example, and then create a new event and try a new project. To reinstall put the application and its preference files in the trash, but don't empty the trash. Make sure you unmount any external drives that have a time machine backup or clone of your OS and then reinstall from the App store.
If none of this works I am out of ideas. One last thought is to trash the layouts folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Motion.

  • Flash crash when i export my animation as a video and get stuck at 64%

When i export my animation for a video it makes a swf file but it renders till 64% and get stuck and flash freeze and close, how can i fix this?

When you select to use RAM or disk to render with, if you're using RAM try selecting to use DISK instead and make sure you have enough space available for the final file. If you're exporting anything near HD size with no compression then you should have potentially hundreds or thousands of GIGS available for your animation.

  • Flash crashed during watching movies in YT, sound doesn't always work.

I have many the few problems with flash and sound in my Arch Linux.
Firstly, when I want to play a movie in YouTube, flash often gets crashed. Movies stop loading, and they stop playing at the most often in 7th second or 12th second. Additionally, the sound falters itself. When I want to do something in web browser, it stops working. I must restart it, but flash still doesn't work. I noticed, after flash's crash, I cannot work for example in kdenlive. It gets crashed too. That problem often exists during watching movies in YT.
Secondly, I don't always have sound in games. For example, I cannot hear anything in Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, but e.g. in SuperTuxKart I hear everything. I don't have any idea, why sound works in some apps and doesn't work in the other apps.
I downgraded flash, because I thought, it could help, but unfortnately, it still has the problems. I use Firefox, but earlier I used Chromium and that problem was too.
Edit: I have just noticed, when after flash's crashing I want to listen to music and then I want to stop it, it falters like sound in YT movies.

Is wolfenstein a wine game? If so There are a bunch of optional dependencies for wine. You can see them if you do "pacman -Qi wine" (same for any installed program in Arch unless installed without pacman/PKGBUILD).  Some that I have installed are:
    lib32-alsa-lib
    lib32-libpulse
If the game is a 32 bit windows game running through wine you may need some of these. If that doesn't work you can run it through the pulseaudio wrapper like this: "padsp wine /path/to/game.exe" Where /path/to/game.exe is the path to your wolfenstein executable. You can also check your sound settings with a program called "winecfg" (the defaults work fine for me though). To verify that your game is using pulseaudio there is a program called "pavucontrol" that will tell you all of the programs currently using sound through pulseaudio. Hope that helps.
Edit: Also found this which may be of interest I don't know: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/et-sdl-sound/

  • Flash Crashes on Export Every Time

All of a sudden, today, I started having Flash crash on every
instance of export. I get this system crash every time now (Below).
I have reinstalled Flash 8 trying to determine if it may be
something corrupt with the application itself. But no luck.
Any ideas or places to turn? I have sent the flash files to
other people to determine if it is something with these files, but
    they can export fine.
    Command: Flash
    Path: /Applications/Macromedia Flash 8/Flash

Well, I'll be damned... I remembered one other thing that people had tried to remedy similar FCPX crash problems:
eject all peripherals (extra hard drives, etc...)
It's working right now. It did not crash on startup. I'll mess around with a project and see how it holds up.
    More later.
    Stephan
PS: in any case, the frustrations people are having with FCPX are quite unacceptable and Apple really should get their act together (from app store woes, to bugs in the program, to crashing, etc...)

  • Consistent Crash: Debug Movie

My copy of Flash CS4 has recently started to crash whenever I attempt to debug a movie. It will even do it to brand new movies I create. My Flash CS4 version is 10.0.2, and there are no Flash CS4 updates listed when I select update from the help menu. The following steps will consistently produce a crash:
Create new project of type Flash File (Actionscript 3.0)
Add a simple object to the stage, ie. Static TextBox, Rectangle drawn by the rectangle tool, etc.
Save the FLA to the file system
Covert it to a symbol and give it an actionscript class name (otherwise when you attempt to debug, you get the "no actionscript" error)
From the tool bar, select "Debug -> Debug Movie".
    Flash CS4 crashes
The swf appears once the Flash CS4 application fully closes and the process disappears from the task manager.
If at step 5 I export the movie instead of debugging it, the movie exports fine, and the .swf can be opened and viewed normally. Likewise, "Control -> Test Movie" or "Control -> Test Scene" work fine as well. It's something else in the Debug step that's causing the error.
Like I said, this is a very new behavior and it's incredibly frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

It is a known bug. You can avoid it by setting your default editing mode to rich text.

  • SWF movie export on frame-by-frame basis WITH actionscript

    Hi there,
I know they're two ways of exporting flash movies:
Export the whole timeline. This only allows timeline animations and gets messy because you have to cram up everything on the main timeline.
Realtime-Export via Quicktime. This is a "full blown" export, but heavily dependent on CPU power or speed of harddrive, depending on resolution.
I also work a lot with music programs and there is an option called "mixdown". This will render the whole song - as fast as the processor is capable - to a WAV-file. So time doesn't matter anymore, notes don't get skipped, etc.
I would like to see something like this in flash, too. WITH actionscript.
I just want flash to export one frame for each "onEnterFrame" event, NOT when the timer tells you, it's time for a "next frame". So this would mean not to trigger the onEnterEvent when the appropiate time has passed, but to trigger it, when the next frame can be exported.
Libraries like "TweenLite/Max" are capable of doing frame-based animations, independent from the timer, so everything on that end is pretty fine.
Would be so great if that was possible in any way.
Is it already in CS5? Or maybe an option in CS6... argh, so many years to wait...
until then, I have to measure the fps, look out for the lowest number, export at THAT framerate (in most of the cases just 4 or 5 fps, even on a very fast computer - just because 2 or 3 frames happen to render slower than the other 200) and afterwarts set it to 25 again (I use Blender to do this)

    Greg-
    Good Lead - Thanks.
I learned that having skinned components (which this uses)
keeps this preloader from working properly. The results were
unstable. It looks like a great little preloader for other things
    though.
I also learned that it's a problem that others have
encountered and that hasnt been solved yet...
    ...."hello Adobe?"
Thanks again for helping me understand this.

  • Flash crashes iMac?

Hi, I have an early 2008 24 inch iMac, 3.06GHz C2D, 4G Ram,OSX 10.8.2. I read a lot in this forum regarding Flash crashes iMac. It happens to me recently when I watch CNN news video, my iMac would shutdown unexpectedly. I beleive that CNN video uses Flash plugin, that might be the issue, but what I don't understand is that I can watch Hulu movies for hours without any issues, doesn't Hulu uses Flash as well? Perhaps some web engineer at CNN uses Flash the wrong way?

If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post shutdownStall, spin, or hang reports.

  • Final Cut Crashes on any EXPORT

Turned on the computer today and needed to Export some projects through Compressor. About 2 minutes into the encoding Final Cut "Quit Unexpectedly".
Tried several times with the same results. Final Cut also Quits when I export to "Quicktime Movie" & export 'Audio to AIFF'.
I trashed the preferences & repaired my disk permissions through disk utility. Still doesn't work.
I can however, edit just fine. No crashes there. Only when Exporting.
I should mention im working on the latest version of FCPS2 & OSX.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thx.
    Mike A.

You have pretty much the same set-up as us except we're one OSX 10.5.3
What video codec are your source files? and where you converting while exporting?
We've been using HDV 1080p and have tried export using quicktime conversion as well as a straight forward export all with no luck. Also tried deleting render files and re-rendering and still had no luck. The only work around we found was to take the footage into After Effects using Automatic Duck and then render it out from there...

  • Flash Crashes Repeatedly - Mac Lion OS / Firefox 7.0.1

I am running Firefox 7.1 and have had Adobe Flash repeatedly crash when trying to view videos on comcast.net and cbs.com.  I have updated Adobe Flash to the latest version (according to the Adobe site) and yet the crashes continue.  I need help.
    I am running:
    Mac 10.7.1. (Lion)
    Firefox 7.0.1
    Adobe Flash 10.3.183.10

i haven't seen a crashlog, so let me assume everyone has the same issue.  the root cause of the crashers are with non standard fonts.  when the player enumerates through these fonts the non standard fonts causes the player to fault.  there are a few ways to get through this issue.  pick one that you feel comfortable doing.
    try something new: level easy
we release FP 11.2 beta.  install this player version will take advantage of new code that handles the non standard fonts.  the player is beta and is watermarked, so keep this in mind.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer11-2/
i want to use FP11: level moderate
there are 2 solutions to try.  one is a quick and dirty, but is not as thorough...
    solution 1:
move all the fonts from your /Users/<yourUsername>/Library/Fonts to another location (eg. your desktop).  you have the option to delete them if you don't ever plan to use them again
quit your browser and restart your browser
    solution 2:
this was outlined in another thread supplied by the user seantrue
    http://damnedfinesoftware.blogspot.com/2011/10/fsusage-when-adobe-flash-crashes-in.html
i don't want to use FP11, but would rather downgrade: level easy/moderate
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
download the uninstaller and run it
download the previous player version prior to FP11 (10,3,183,10)
    unpack and install
give one of them a try..
Note:  the solutions outline here apply to Safari and Firefox.  Chrome uses an embedded flash player plugin...  it's not advised, but you could disable the ebmedded plugin and make use or the installed alternative.

  • Flash 8 won't export to quicktime

I've had issues with Flash before, but this is the first
problem that has actually been *insane*. I'm trying to export some
animated scenes to QuickTime movies (exporting as an .avi gives
horrible quality no matter what the settings are), and I get an
    error message:
"The installed version of QuickTime does not support this
    type of Macromedia Flash movie.
Quicktime requires Macromedia Flash version 5 or before.
Please select "Version: Flash Player 5" in the Flash tab of
    the Publish Settings dialog."
Now the annoying part is, I've already set the version to
Flash 5 in the Publish Settings dialog. And every time I get this
message I check the settings again to make sure the version did in
fact "stick" and hasn't switched itself back somehow. It hasn't.
I've set the version to Flash 5 just like the error message told me
to ... and it tells me I have to set the version to Flash 5.
Is the problem with Quicktime and not Flash? I tried updating
that and it still asks me to set the version to Flash 5 (which it
already is). Do I need to find an older version of Quicktime?
    Someone PLEASE help.

I'm having the same exact problem. I thought maybe it was due
to one of those automatic updates or swamp gas.........

  • Converting Flash animations to .mov

What is the best way to convert an animation created in Flash to a .mov file. I've tried the export movie command in the file menu, changing various settings in the publish settings in Flash and and in the Quicktime options boxes.  But the resulting .mov file has all kinds of fragments and artifacts. Has anybody had any luck creating animations in Flash and then converting them into a format that can be assemble in iMovie? Thanks.

I updated my CS5 Applications on 4/25 and then tried publishing the Flash animation file that I was have trouble with and the artifacts in the .mov file had disappeared. I still have some artifacts in other files but they have improved. I don't know if the bug (in Flash or in Quicktime) was fixed or what happened I guess the lesson is to update frequently. If somebody fixed some thing, Thank you, dedmonds91

  • Flash Animations and Movies are lagging after having played a flash game which was graphics intense heavy and frequently refreshed which caused lags, how can I fix this lagging problem for Flash?

On June 30th, I was playing a game called Lil Einstein's Manhattan project over at Newgrounds.com and the game although fine at first, later on in the advanced levels of the game, started to cause my browser to lag intensely and heavily. Now, when I try and watch other flash movies and animations, the flash doesn't run as smoothly, there are skips in the flash animations and movies, and it slows down.
I tried scan disks, I tried defragmenting my computer, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox.. Nothing worked to restore the Flash.
But when I view Flash movies and animations on Internet Explorer, they run fine... but not anymore on Firefox.
Other Firefox users who have played this game also reported problems as well..
How can I fix my Firefox Browser and return the Flash running to normal?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
    == June 30th, 2010

If you have already scanned PC with an updated Anti-Virus and still the issue exists then I would suggest some troubleshooting techniques to resolve this problem:
    Update browser
    Remove unwanted Add-ons
    Remove unwanted Tool-bars
    Repair Registry
Repair ActiveX objects and shared DLLs
In case of facebook and Zynga I would suggest to Check for Problems with your Internet Connection.Try to Update Java and Reduce the Number of Running Internet Applications.
Sometimes Multimedia content lag due to Hardware Acceleration, so disabling Hardware Acceleration should fix your problem.
    Open Flash Video in browser
Right click on Video Player | Settings
    Open Display Panel
    Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration
If issue still exists then you can find some more techniques described in detail here:

  • GoPro Cineform files cause Premiere to crash during Media Export

I first  noticed this problem when using a project that had been copied and transcoded with GoPro codec as demonstrated in Dave Henly's helpful video.  The codec is indeed beautiful.
However, 50% to 80% of the time when trying to export a project where there are GoPro files on the timeline, it'll get about halfway through the export before Premiere (or Media Encoder) simply freezes up.
I didn't know what was causing this problem until I was  using one large GoPro-exported video as the new base layer for a project that had otherwise been working perfectly prior to that (using Canon 60D-created .mov files).  Now it was crashing during every export.  On a hunch, I re-exported that base layer as an h264 file and replaced the GoPro video on the timeline, and now the project exports out just fine.
Is this happening to anyone else?  I'm using just the standard 8bit GoPro preset whenever I export out or transcode clips.
I'm using Premiere Pro CC, whatever the up-to-date version number is right now.
    Windows 8.
    24 gb RAM.
    GeForce Titan Black
    Intel Core i7

    Similar problem.
The new feature rendering a ae comp inside premiere timeline is perfect, but using gopro cineform codec crashes premiere on export.

  • Rendering Flash files to .mov.

I use Flash for my job and I need to render to .mov files. My MacPro cannot handle it. It should be able to. It's a 2x2.4 GHz quad core Intel powered machine with 32 GB of memory. And it has a ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB graphics card. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply, but I don't think this will be the solution.
I create Flash animations and then export them as .mov files. And that is the problem. When I export the Flash file as a movie I get poor results. However, when one of my colleagues exports the same file on their Windows-based PC, the movie is perfect.
I am sure a Mac Pro should be able to do this, and I am looking for the fix to make it possible.
    Any suggestion is welcomed.
