Flash cropping randomly

Help, all flash videos are cropping randomly. Also, when I go full screen, the video doesn't fill up the entire screen like it used to. I still see black frame on all sides. It only happens on Firefox. I tried uninstalling both flash and firefox then reinstalling, but neither solved the issue. It doesn't happen on just youtube, it happens on blip too. You can actually see the black bars move around as it tries to randomly crop the videos. I believe this is purely a Firefox issue because I tried the same videos on Google chrome and didn't run into the same issue.

Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.

  • Flashing Apple icon with horizontal line flashing at random on screen

I know this can't be good
    Here's the background info:
Our G5 completely crashed about 4 months ago. Lost my iTunes library but my iPod mini was full and working, so I used it until the battery died. Now iTunes is reinstalled but I was scared to plug iPod in and wipe out everything on it by mistake. Today after researching on this site I dowloaded Senuti to help with getting the contents of iPod back into iTunes library. Two hours ago I plugged in my iPod into USB on the G5, and at first I got the dead battery icon, but after a couple of minutes I got a flahing Apple icon, with a horizontal line on the screen flashing at random places. iTunes does not 'see' my iPod. Needless to say, Apple support website does not address the issue... Any help is appreciated! Thanks from sunny Florida

Try to connect your iPod with a window PC
Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

  • Displaying flash movies randomly

    Hi All,
I have a question regarding flash.
I want to develop my project with the flash.
My project scenario is, I have a total no of 60 (.swf) flash
movies and are about to take 4 to 5 minutes each, my aim is to
display 20 .swf files randomly at a time on the screen.
i.e., if we click on a button for the first time, it should
display a 20 flash movies on the screen and when we click for the
second time it should display other set of 20 flash movies it may
or may not repeat the previous ones. It means every person should
be displayed with a different set of flash movies, no two persons
can get the same set of movies. The movies should be randomly
    selected.
Could you please direct me to meet my scenario.
Thank you for your precious time.

  • Flash breaks randomly, won't compile, ignores document class?

I have run into a strange and annoying problem since updating to Flash Professional CS5.5 on my work computer.
Sometimes, seemingly randomly, Flash stops compiling things correctly. I Test Movie by hitting Cmd+Return and it just displays what's on the stage, frame 1. The document class is never initialized, no errors at all, no trace statements print out; it acts as if there is no code at all. After this happens once, it will continue to do this until I restart Flash, which fixes the problem. However, restarting Flash every 10 - 15 minutes is very annoying.
It seems to happen regardless of what project I'm working on or what state the project is in (i.e. if the code contains errors or not). All of our projects use external AS3 classes (no code on the timeline).
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I'm using an iMac running OSX 10.6.8.

I haven't run into this with CS5.5 yet, but it used to happen to me all the time in CS4.  Simply moving the .fla to a different folder (and make sure it publishes to a new folder) solved the problem every time.  In CS5.5, prior to the recent update to CS5.5.1, I would also sometimes have my exported swf not reflect changes I made.  I fixed that by first saving as xfl, then resaving as fla.

  • Adobe Flash keeps randomly crashing

Help is needed badly. i'll go to sites i always go to and haven't had a problem with before, and then, just at random, while i'm doing things with the sites, my Adobe Flash will just randomly crash on me. i have no idea why, and it's really annoying me. One of the sites i'm on a lot is an online game that requires flash as it's a 3-d real-time RPG. i use the latest version of Firefox, and i haven't had problems before with Flash, but now all of a sudden i am. This problem with random crashes are relatively new, and have been occuring for the past two weeks.

Adobe just had an update in the past week or two, perhaps that's contributing to the problem. See this Firefox note on how to restore the prior Flash version.

  • Flash CS5 randomly deleting library content

Sorry if this isn't the right sub-forum but it seemed to be the closest to my issue as far as I can see.
    Hello,
I'm working on a  rather large project at work using CS5 Flash. The project involves  loading several .swf files at different times from a main 'hub' type  structure. Think of it as a multi-channel platform and when you click on  the channel you want, it loads the sub-swf with the videos and movie  clip contents/as code in it.
As one can imagine, this has  cause the overall project to grow quite huge. When we open up the main  fla file that contains the library content of it's children fla's, some  files will randomly go missing.  These files are being shared over a  network with various people via a file repository system so no two  people can be working on the same file at the same time. This doesn't  appear to be the problem, nor is accidental deletion as an individual  can check out the files, work on them locally, save them locally, close  and reopen them  locally and random content will be missing again.
We  believe that the issue may have to do with the overall size of the  fla's (the fla's range in size from 16mb to 3mb).  They will be playing  as stand alone objects, not on a website so other outside content isn't  an issue. Some of the computers being used are 64 bit system while  others are 32 but all systems have had the issue. We are also using AIR  to help with some of the functionality but this issue started before we  started using AIR.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you ever get any resolution with this issue? I am having this too, in multiple projects that aren't connected.
I even had the same exact MCs in the library in multiple FLAs just in case this happened. When it did, I attempted to drag the MCs from one FLA (where they were NOT deleted) into one where where they WERE deleted....thinking that I would be able to hit "replace" all since the MCs were named the same....when they appeared on the stage they were empty! It wasn't until I deleted the old MCs (with the missing content) that the new ones would show up when dragged over.
If you have ANY resolution to this please let me know. I am surprised that this isn't a major issue with more people.
I even have this issue on different Macs using different installed software!
    So this is systemic!

  • Flash IDE randomly creating Symbols

    Hey There
For some reason I have not been able to figure out, every so
often I'll look over at my Library in the Flash IDE and see (at the
bottom of the Library list) a bunch of numbered Symbols that Flash
has (apparently) just randomly generated on its own. The symbols
are always of other elements in the project that are already in the
Library, and they get names like Symbol 81, Symbol 82, Symbol 83.
It's so weird, and annoying (especially since its adding to my file
    size!)
Anyone know what's going on here?
    Thanks,
    Graham

Nope. The same darn thing is happening to me. I import a SWF
and it breaks into pieces, adding fragments to the library of
bitmaps and symbols named stuff like "symbol 82" and "symbol 83."
No tweening going on. I hope someone can help!

  • Windows XP and IE displaying Flash cropped

My client was complaining about the site we built a few years ago not displaying correctly with her new computer. I am pretty sure she is on Windows XP and IE, but not exactly sure about version.
    The site is: http://www.chendadesign.com
The issue visually looks like the Flash file gets cropped on both sides. Also, the top padding no longer exists? Is this a flash player issue or css?
    Thanks for any help!

It doesnt sound like a flash problem. Look at the image I have atached. This is how it appears on my windows firefox, IE and Mac safari.

  • After Effects + Adobe Media Encoder + Flash = Most Random File Sizes Ever

Asking this question in this AE forum because I think more would have knowledge on the topic here than the Flash Forum.
I've heard that video compression is more of an art than a science...  Could someone provide me some insight on the following?
-Created a 12 second, 30 FPS, 300x250 banner animation inside of After Effects
-Exported for FLV/Flash to be placed inside of a 300x250 .FLA
-Comps rendered directly from Adobe Media Encoder standalone instead of Render Queue in AE (for 2 pass .FLV's, and heard from various that .FLV's from render queue are not the prettiest at times).
I've always been under the impression that I would get smaller file sizes with SWF's externally linking to an FLV.  If I do it this way, I end up with:
    41 KB .SWF  + 668 KB .FLV = 709 KB
However, if I EMBED the same 668 KB .FLV to the FLA's timeline (not using the flvPlayback component) I end up with a 381 KB file size!
I am just confused on the logic here, could someone explain the reasons for this?  I always thought my file size would be bigger if it was embedded to the timeline.

Actually I think it's the tons of extra AS code that make linked players fatter. Never could make sense of the why and how myself, but you can find enough alternate free players/ skins (nonverblaster for instance, which I use) that are a lot leaner.

  • Flash videos randomly crash all my browsers

Sometimes when trying to watch flash videos e.g Youtube the

  • While using the new Firefox 8 or Aurora, my bars on top keep disappearing and the entire page will flash black randomly while I'm moving my cursor, can anyone help?

Essentially what happens when I start up my browser is that the window pops up and while I go to click on the search bar, it fills in black. When I click on the searchbar, when the text in it is supposed to become highlighted, its a black bar over the text. When I go to hit the back button, the bar will completely strobe on and off. While of facebook, I try to click my scroll bar, but it doesn't register as being selected while I'm holding down the left mouse button. Finally, like stated in the question, when I'm on any site, any hyperlinks that I scroll over turned to blacked out blocks, as do pictures, and occassionally the entire window just blacks out.

  • Is random iMac screen flashing a cause for concern?

I am using a 24-inch iMac which is of the 'Early 2009' variety.
The flashing happens randomly but usually when I awaken it.  This behavior began about a month or so ago and is very random, somedays it occurs several times during the day and other days not at all.  If it is on its way out, I would like to purchase another before it quits.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

  • Samsung Note 3 Camera and Flash Issues

I have a Samsung Note 3 that is only a few months old and the Camera continues to not function correctly.
    Android 4.4.2
    * Flash will randomly turn off and I will need to restart my device to get it working again.
    * Pictures taken with camera are slow and very often out of focus.
The camera flash issue is something most people might not notice until they absolutely need the flash.
The camera taking a long time to focus/take pictures I'm sure a lot of people have seen on a more regular basis.
