Flash CS 5.5 - I'm losing my sanity!

Hi everyone. As i love Adobe for all great products such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver - i'm really, really pissed off right now! Flash CS 5.5 is so incredibly buggy. I experienced crashes while saving files, then corrupting whole .fla file. I'm experiencing that when i insert something in my unfinished project for example from Illustrator everything just dissapears - the timeline is there, the assets in library are there, but nothing on the screen! I have Windows 7 64bit, 16GB RAM, over 30 GB cash memory (or page memory, don't kniw what it is in english) but it still very offten give me message that i'm "out of memory"! How can i be out of memery for god sake?? I have opened only my Flash app and just make something easy, like adding motion tween on my MC and suddenly - "you are out of memory" appears! I'm working 2 weeks on product presentation for my company in Flash and it is Hell! Now i save every succesfull step in separate .fla, so i have over 50 versions of it, becouse i'm afraid tahat it can crash any time and completly corrupt my file. And it happens very often.
Ok - this product presentation is large one, it is 1280x720 with large number of 300 dpi HD photos. Of course - it is. So what - i'm not able to make this big, HD flash animation (becouse it may run on flatscreens in our company shops as a presentation)? Why not? Our company pay for Adobe Design premium a lot of money, so i expecting it will work properly. Now i'm stuck. I prepare every of my scenes in illustrator (so expet product photos it's all in vector), divide it in layers and then import into Flash scene. As far i have 5 scenes don this way successfully (with incredible amount of crashes and errors - didn't mention that stupid TLF text, wich is preset so if i forget to change it, my whole file go to hell - why?? Why is this text format causes so much trouble and why is it implicit???). Now i'm trying to import another, sixth scene from illustrator and it ends in two scenarios - either it completly crashes whole Flash app (with unexpectet error), or it import something, but it couses that everything dissapears - once again. There are timelines, but nothing on screen.
Work, wich i may have done week ago is incredible pain for me now and i'm really pissed off. And it doesn't happend only in this large project, i experienced this unbeliveble problems just in small animations, like prop banner. Am I only who have this problems?
Sorry for my outrage and bad english.

@Sinious: Hi, thanx for your opinion, but even if you think that i'm total idiot - i DON'T run anything except Flash itself at onec! I'm not absolutly stupid :-). And i even mention it in my first post - "I have opened only my Flash app ..." So - it's not that case. About 300dpi images - they arn't so big as you expected, they have something abou 1200px width, maximall 5 MB in size. The exported .swf file have something about 25MB, so it's not sooo big and i think that Flash can handle this. So - i don't run anything exept flash and my images arn't so big as you expected. Now what? And you thing 16GB of RAM is nothing? Well - maybe for som 3D modeling programs and video editing, but for Flash? I don't agree with you. I'm able to work with flash on my personal computer just with 4GB of RAM. And my pagefile means nothing? Then why, when i use that "trick" by allowing "App can handle > 2gb adress space" help me out? Why i suddenly can finish my project with all my 300dpi photos and more than 15 scenes with product presentation? And viruses and malware - of course i have toolf for handle them - again, i'm not compleat idiot :-). And in the end - i even have just couple of weeks clean installation of my system. Next problem is that you only speaking about my memory issue, but you forgot all my other problems. If there was only "you have low memory" problem and nothing will cras, i wasn't so mad about it. So - thanx for your opinion, but you are in most cases wrong.
@gerubach: thanx - i did it before, of course, that was first thing, but it didn't help. What hepled was that process wich i describe in my 3th post. Really - i haven't memory problem sinc then. As you say, we can't do much about it, exept using some freeware alternative. I don't want to give them propagation here, but ther are some very interesting out there. One of them even seems really cool, but i found it too late :-) Will try it next time. If you want to know about it, send me PM.

  • Audio/Video Different Lengths? I am losing what sanity I had...

    Hello,
    Here we go: Dual 2.7, OS 10.4.8, updated versions of ALL software. We just did a clean install after writing zero's to the boot drive.
    I export a non-self contained movie from FCP. Time line is 29:29;01. The compressor MPEG2 brought into DVDSP is the same length. So far so good. However, the audio length is the asset bin shows 29:07;07. So it comes in shorter? But wait, I drop the assets into the DVDSP timeline and the video is 29:29;01 (good) but the audio measures something like one-tenth of one frame LONGER than the video??????? So the asset is shorter but comes in ever so slightly longer when it should be exactly the same? The assets were encoded from the FCP non-self contained file which was brought into Compressor, audio encoding was Dolby (auto). However we also tried a self contained version and used Dolby 2.0 with the same exact result?
    Mike

    Everything seems OK. Meaning we burned a DVD and didn't notice any sync issues. Of course 2 seconds off we would have noticed, but one-tenth of one frame I don't think I would notice!
    We also brought the FCP sequence into DVDSP and had DVDSP complete the compression. Now I am not sure if there is a way to tell DVDSP to create an AC3 file with the audio? Our first attempt (and only attempt for now) created the the m2v file and an AIFF audio file. The AIFF file was spot on to the m2v file. Bringing that AIFF file into Compressor to create the AC3 file and we get the same mismatch as outlined before. So at least it is consistent!
    But, again, everything appears OK. These mysteries just worry me!

  • Losing internet connection after Flash Player update.

    Recently, I suffered from a Fake Flash Player infection involving the Adobooaan hijacker malware.  I had great difficulty getting rid of it and in the end resorted to using Spyhunter and then hand-deleting the things it came up with.
    [Yes, I know Spyhunter is semi-malware itself, eats cpu space and and keeps popping up every half hour demanding payment, but I have it on a leash.  I used AVG PC Tuner to set Spyhunter so it runs only when specifically told to, and then switches off when I've finished with it.]
    Using Spyhunter in this way got rid of the Fake Flash Player hijacker when MalwareBytes, Spybot and Adware-Removal-Tool had all failed, but one of the side effects was that I had to re-nstall, or at least partially re-install, the real Flash Player.  Now, I keep losing my internet connection, and it appears to be happening when I get a "The Adobe Flash Player Update Service service entered the stopped state." system event.
    The outage affects all browsers, and only access to web pages online.  I can still get emails, and open web-pages which are on my own PC, but I lose access to all online pages.  The only cure for it seems to be to re-boot my router by switching it off for a minute, yet my PC's connection to the router seems to be sound, and my ISP's tech team say the router looks fine from their end.
    Spyhunter is a bit over-enthusiastic - it identified a legitimate TextBridge file as a malware of the same name, e.g., so I'm wondering whether in removing the Fake Flash Player infection I've accidentally deleted some legitimate Adobe Flash Player file or cookie, causing Flash Player to switch off my internet connection at the end of every update check.  But if so, how do I fix it?  Is there some way of getting into Flash Player to set options?  It doiesn't seem to have an icon or to appear in the programs list as something you can get at and twiddle with.

    Yep, I've got the exact same problem. I'm using a PowerMac G4, running 10.4.5 (I think). I can't say the problem started happening, since I just started using the sleep function (computer generates a lot of heat in my apartment in the summertime!).
    But yea, I sleep it using the HW button, and bring it back, and no internet connection. I'm not sure if it's the computer (SW caused) or the ISP (disconnects if the computer doesn't respond to pinging). I am using Comcast cable Internet, which is DHCP me thinks.

  • Issue with Flash in my site, IE

    Greetings,
    I hope someone has a thought for me on this! I have created
    THIS WEBSITE DESIGN for
    a client. It uses a Flash-based navigation system.
    The issue is that in Internet Explorer, it requires you to
    click on the nav to activate it before you can use it. I think the
    nav system is going to make the site sing when it's finished, but
    the owner wants it out due to the problem.
    FireFox doesn't give me this problem, but I wonder if there
    is some code I can put into DreamWeaver to tell Internet Explorer
    to knock it off????
    HELP! (thanks)

    It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made
    last
    year to their browser, regarding how Active Content (Flash,
    Quicktime etc)
    is handled, after losing a high profile court case.

  • Why do I have to click on all of my flash components before I can navigate?

    Without modification to the code...the component is there but
    it needs to be clicked on before I can navigate the site. Should
    Dreaweaver not know how to properly insert the code necessary allow
    the flash component to view properly? What am I missing? I know
    this is a Deramweaver forum....but the problem does not not seem to
    be with Flash, it seems to be in the code that Dreamweaver creates
    when the Flash component is inserted.
    I have been able to find a work around to my problem but
    surely it is not what everyone out there is doing. If
    so...Dreamweaver or Flash has a serious bug!
    I created a site a while back and everthing worked fine. So I
    copied some code from that site to fix the new one. However even
    after copying the code I still have to modify it to make it
    work..(the modifcations are obvious.) This is suely not the way it
    is done all the time.
    I have three questions:
    1. Why did everything work fine with the first site with no
    modifications?
    2. Why do I have to copy the code to the other site after
    inserting the Flash component?
    3. Why does dreamweaver not do it for me? (it did everything
    right the other time, but now it doen't even work in the previous
    site)
    I feel like I must have changed a setting somewwhere that I
    did not realize would effect this...Perhaps it is a Dreamwweaver
    thing.

    If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will
    not be spidered
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
    a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
    It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons...

  • USB Flash Drive Issue On iMac - 1.1 on iMac, 2.0 on any other Mac

    I have a Core i7 27" Late 2009 iMac.
    I just noticed this issue today.
    I have a couple of Patriot XPorter XT USB Flash drives that I use among my Macs to transfer big files around.
    Hooking one of the 8GB flash drives to my iMac, the one listed above, it shows the device operating at USB 1.1 speeds, whether it's in a powered hub, or one of the 4 USB ports in the back of the machine. This was odd, because this was the first time it had ever done this. I only noticed this due to the painfully slow transfer rate the Finder was reporting to me. Restarting the iMac, cold starting the iMac, resetting permissions, PRAM and SMC did nothing. I thought it was a bum drive.
    So I grabbed a 16GB flash drive (same brand and model family, different capacity) and it works perfectly fine on the iMac at USB 2.0 speeds. Hmm...
    So I boot the iMac into Win 7 Ultimate x64. Both drives are listed at USB 2.0 speeds. Something is definitely afoot here.
    To make sure I'm not losing my sanity, I grab my MacBook Pro and test the drives in there. Both drives are listed at USB 2.0 speeds.
    I then run to my Mac Pro. Both drives are listed at USB 2.0 speeds.
    Did something go wonky on my iMac?
    Machine specs (for comparison above)
    iMac 27" i7 2.8GHz - 16GB RAM
    MacBook Pro 15" Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz - 4GB RAM
    Mac Pro Xeon 2.66GHz - 12GB RAM

    I think that you are just running into a communication blip between the thumb drive and the controller for the USB ports on your iMac. It is obviously reading the 8 GB drive as older and slower and is assigning that lessor priority to the bus serving the drive.
    Have you tried attaching the drive directly to the iMac with no other device connected to a USB port? If it is the same, then I doubt there is anything that you can do, that is going to be the way the USB controller reads this thumb drive.

  • Problems with flash transparent drop down menu over html in some browsers

    Hi everyone... this is my first post and it's about an issue
    that's causing me a few problems.
    I'm currently designing/ building my company's web site, the
    test page be viewed here: www.musflashtv.com/test.htm
    1) This layout contains an embeded flash movie (.swf) with a
    transparent background, this is the main navigation.
    The flash navigation has a drop down menu that animates down
    and covers the html page (containing links) below.
    The problem is that in most current browsers such as; Firefox
    2.0.05 (links below template don't work), Netscape 8.1.3
    (navigation drop down and links don't work) and Opera 9.10 (links
    below template don't work), any links just below the 'invisible'
    transparent area coverd by the navigation can't be clicked 'through
    the flash file'. The exception is IE 7.0, everything is fine there.
    (it hasn't been tested in any mac browsers though).
    Because the area below the navigation on
    www.kitachi.info/work is one large dummy jpeg file, the link below
    would be a much better example to look at.
    http://www.musflashtv.com/shows/ind...tlight-Sessions
    The flash navigation is embedded in the html (tlp) template
    file using the code below and aligned using an external style
    (.css) sheet, this html code not only embeds the flash movie but it
    also tells the browser to display it's background and as
    transparent. The flash movie is embedded in a layer that sits above
    the table.
    3) The flash embed code:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    name="shows-navigation-tranparent" width="851" height="300"
    align="top" class="flash-navigation"
    id="shows-navigation-tranparent">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie"
    value="flash/navigation-tranparent.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" />
    <param name="SCALE" value="exactfit" />
    <embed src="flash/navigation-tranparent.swf" width="851"
    height="300" align="top" quality="high" wmode="transparent"
    bgcolor="#000000" name="navigation-tranparent"
    allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    scale="exactfit" />
    </object>
    Does anybody know of any code that can solve this problem or
    know a different way of creating a flash navigation with a drop
    menu that can be embeded over html?
    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated especially as
    this issue is holding back progress in a big way.
    Thanks in advance guys!

    hi i am createing a website using dream weaver and my
    navigation bar has flash buttons as the links to other pages i have

    i am using Dreamweaver 8, and the code for one of my buttons
    is like this

    can any one help me with this please

    What will happen to those who do not have Flash installed?
    What will search
    engines (which don't read Flash links) do to spider your
    site? What will
    screen assistive devices (which don't read Flash links) do to
    navigate your
    site? What will you do when you move or rename a linked page
    (DW cannot
    manage the links)?
    Most experienced people don't use Flash navigation for these
    reasons.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 Debugger Problem

    Hey Everyone,
    I spent the better half of the last hour searching for a remedy to my situation but have not found one. I have a problem where in Flash Builder 4.5 I keep losing my debugger version of Flash Player. I download the version here http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10 and it works again. However, seemingly random it will do it again a couple of days later. So I'm trying to figure out what is causing this or how I can fix it. It is quite annoying to go to jump into a project, debug it and then have to stop everything and download it again. Anyone know how to fix this?
    I am running it on Mac OSX 10.6.7 (latest).
    This is the message I receive when it breaks:
    "Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder.  Do you want to try to debug with the current version?"

    My two cents on this issue & how I resolved it.
    I was getting a similar message which referenced a location in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, and was looking for this version of the Flash Player: Flash64_10_3_162.ocx
    What I tried that did NOT help:
    Re-associating the SWF file type to open with a Flash Player debugger version downloaded from Adobe's site.
    These three steps resolved the issue for me:
    I had installed the 64-bit version of the Flash Player a few months ago, so I uninstalled that since it cannot be used by Flash Builder as a debugger. Back in FB 4.5.1, I got another message saying Flash was not installed at all.
    I used Adobe's Flash uninstaller tool and then,
    re-installed the latest debuggers for IE & Firefox.
    I can now debug in IE or FF without any issues. FB finds the debug version of the Flash Player.
    From what I saw when researching this, there seem to be many causes for this issue so I'll give Adobe some slack here. I will point out that the post from Adobe employee Anirudh Sasikumar, above, was not helpful in my case and was in fact misleading and not specific enough as to the location of the file he referenced. I searched for that file and found dozens of them on my machine, none in any location he mentioned. I wish he would have taken a little more time to give a complete path to this file. Maybe he did, but I could not find that path, or folders, on my machine. I work in a tightly-controlled network environment so perhaps these folders are ones I cannot see due to permissions issues, but it would've saved me time to get a complete path to start with.
    For complete and full disclosure, here is my set-up; hopefully this will help others with a similar setup who are experiencing this nagging issue:
    Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, Service Pack 1
    Flash Builder 4.5.1.313231
    Eclipse 3.6.1r361_v20100909xxxxxxx
    Flash Debugger version (IE & FF): 10.3 r183

  • Activate Flash Content in IE

    Hi,
    I have a flash content in my webpage, when viewed online
    particularly in Internet Explorer, it prompts for User Input to
    activate that flash component. I searched in the forums and there
    are few Java Scripts available. Few are only IE version specific

    Is there a common script / method to markup the webpage so
    that IE understands that there is a flash content that doesn't
    require user input to view or interact with ?
    Thanks in advance.
