Flash CS3 program flickers during "undo" and "save and compact"

Hi,
I have Flash CS3 Suite. I have a computer that was built in 2004, running Windows XP Professional - 2 Gb RAM although I have given the Virtual memory 4 Gb. The reason I did that is because I thought maybe my RAM wasn't enough. I have no problems with any of the other Adobe programs or any other programs on my computer, just Flash Professional. The running process only uses 16,030 K so it can't be that.
I have uninstalled, cleaned all adobe files completely off of my computer, done a fresh install, more than once, but no matter what, I seem to have issues with the 2 following commands:
1. Edit > undo feature
2. File > save and compact - although this doesn't flicker as much as the other one.
The flickering is frustrating, and, of course I can't do anything else until the flickering stops.
The positive side of this issue is that I am being much more thoughtful about my editing which is good anyway, but it would be nice for the flickering to permanently stop. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.

Photoshop CS3 crashing when I go to save, and no option to send report. What to do?

This is the first part of the report. Any ideas? How can I directly email this to Adobe?

That's a known issue in MacOS 10.10 that affects many applications.
We have filed a bug with Apple about the issue, and will work with them to get it solved in a future MacOS update.

Is there an easy way to take a layered Id cc file and save and open in an older Ps?

I am trying to proof and edit a book being made at a school where they are using Id cc. I do not have Id, and am trying to figure out how they can save the layered file to send me and open in Ps or Ai. All I see is converting to a pdf file but it seems complicated to keep the layers as is. They tried sending me pdf files and neither Ps or Ai will open them. And not sure if they saved in layers. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just to be clear, you are asking about Photoshop cc? I don't see how that would be a good choice in editing InDesign files. You would need to have the school send you a PDF that you would need to open in Photoshop, which would rasterize all of the text, making it uneditable. I've never tried to edit anything with text in Photoshop, so if there is a way to keep the live type, I'm not aware of it, but even if you could keep live type, Photoshop's text abilities are very basic. InDesign is what you really need to use, and if the school has CC files, I don't see any way you can edit files that they could use without using InDesign CC. At the very least, you would need to use some version of InDesign, if not the CC version, but then you would have to deal with the problems that can happen when sharing files of different versions.
And if you are considering editing with Illustrator, your type will likely break apart. I made an example that I'm posting as a screenshot.
I copied a paragraph of my response to you, pasted into InDesign, exported as a PDF, then opened the PDF in Illlustrator. The upper paragraph is live, and the lower is the Illustrator that I placed below. They look the same, but I have changed the color of the live type (after the export) to show you how it breaks apart. The first magenta bit is one text fragment. When the font changes to bold, it creates a new fragment (shown in green), then a third (in blue) when it goes back to Roman. The whole second line (in yellow) has been converted to outlines, so I can't edit it at all. If I wanted to remove two of the magenta words and insert 5 different words, the rest of the line wouldn't flow. That's what you're up against if you edit with Illustrator.
ID is the only real choice, and if they have CC, you should be using CC.

Premiere not saving renders on close and save and freezing machine on export.

Why would premiere not save my render so when I open the file back up again from being closed, it has to render all over again and it takes about 45 min each time for the video I am working on. Mac based, brand new mac pro. Lots of memory. Also it has completely frozen my machine twice trying to export to h.264 youtube 1080p 29.27. Had to do a hard shut down on both. Thx

Well, it has the Adobe PDF printer (from Adobe Acrobat) and MS XPS Document Writer (from Office), but since they weren't real printer I hadn't mentionned them. Is this what you consider Virtual printer?
Either way, I've added a printer but it's still doing the same thing.

Flash CS3 Animation and Audio not timed properly when packaged.

I am trying to create a simulation with audio, mouse movement, mouse clicks and screen changes. When I play the movie in Flash, the animation and the audio are timed properly. However, when I package it, the animation falls behind the audio. I am using wavs for the audio - I've tried mp3s also.
I have a screen displayed with a mouse. The audio and a highlight indicate the next step, then the mouse moves and clicks the desired area - with a audio mouse click. The first "click" sound is pretty close to where it is supposed to be, but as the movie plays, it begins to occur earlier and earlier. So much so, that the audio starts to begin prior to animation is complete later in the move. This is not a real long demonstration, only about 1100 frames, but I notice the problem around frame 180.
Any suggestions?

IE stinks. There's a huge performance difference when playing
SWFs in
Firefox and IE. We have seen SWFs reach 100fps in FF 3.0
while the same SWF
taps out at around 40fps in the latest IE browser. It's not
Flash, it is the

Flash cs3 unexpected file format ... how can I open this .fla??

Hi there,
Someone sent me a .fla file that I can't seem to get opened in my Flash CS3 program. I think it's because it was made in CS4 which isn't backwards compatible with CS3.
So, now I'm wondering if there is a way I can open the .fla file in CS3. Better yet, is there some kind soul here that could possibly open the .fla in CS4, and save it as a CS3 and send it back to me?
I would normally just ask the guy to do this himself but he left on vacation today and I haven't had a chance to try and open the file until now.

Flash CS3 / Adobe products: crashes or acting erraticly

HI -
I recently posted a thread conserning Flash CS3 deleting the
contents or erroring out my built and working .fla's and .swf's
apon opeing them to edit the .fla's.
Suspected a virus - scanned etc etc.
an Avast boot scan showed a corrupt cab archive avast error
#42127 on a boot scan for a DW20.exe adn 4 or 5 other cab
archives... thes are all related to Visual Basic C# - the DW20 .exe
is for error reporting to MS about crashes. - thsi may be an "avast
error" - but no viruses detected.
I checking my WinXP error logs for a further clue they showed
at the time of Flash CS3 crashing when trying to preview - it was
due to FFMpeg.exe
is this something that flash implements in importing a video
file or perhaps a mpeg?
When these crashes started, i was attempting to import a .wmv
(- which btw - i thought past flash 8 there was no problems with -
it now asks for Direct Show to be installed or Quicktime.?? Maybe
someone can give an answer to this as well My understanding was
that past Flash 8 - this was no longer nessasary - if this is true
- any thoughts as to why CS3 is asking me to install these products
to import or encode a wmv file?
Back to topic: Since attempting to bring in the wmv video
and/or mpeg audio and/or the flv i was experimentiing with
- Flash not only crashes on me when attempting to open any
.fla now.
- but also destroys or corrupts all other .fla's and .swf's
in the same file folder as the one i'm working on.
My questiion is - since ffmeg is not a win exe - is this
something that Flash implements in it's importing of a video or
audio file? or at all.
I have 12 error event crashes listed from Flash - all list
the same:

anyone have knowledge on how to fix this or what may cause

I mentioned the cab errors because i'mm not sure if one is
related to the other - i had C# installed but removed it from the

Lightbox is also acting complety crazy as well - all adobe products
are the ones seemly - that i know of or noticed thus far - the only
products acting up.
I need this issue fixed - as i have to finish my fla! lol
I'd much rather be doing that than trouble shooting crashes
from Flash or other Adobe products acting up.
Any help would really be appriciated since this goes beyond

Sure wish I had a quick fix, but it will take more info than
what you have entered. I was having a lot of trouble also, until I
did the 5 tasks listed below.
1. Is there enough memory for Flash CS3? Setup tells you how
much and if you have enough to install the program.
2. Is there enough storage space for Flash CS3? Again, Setup
tells you how much it needs and if ;you have enough to install the
program.
3. How many files do you have on your hard disk? The amount
of directories and files on your hard disk matters a great deal
when you are installing new programs. I usually go through my c:\
directory and get rid of programs I don't use. I try to keep my
folders and files at the lowest I can get away with.
4. When was the last time you cleaned and defragged the
registry?
This matters a great deal too. If you have an overabundance
of empty registry keys, etc. it can hang up your computer too. I
use RegCure, it's a great program.
5. When was the last time you did a defrag on C:\? Many
people don't realize that just these 5 tasks can have a bad effect
on your hard drive.
It would be a great thing if you uninstall Flash CS3, do
tasks 1-5 and then reinstall Flash CS3. Seems like a lot of work,
but it is extremely important to keep your computer running at its
best.

Has Actionscript 3 changed since Flash CS3?

maybe it is a strange question?
I find that sometimes opening a Flash CS3 or Flash CS4 file in Flash CS5 causes the scripts to either fail or I get some strange results.
I do not have specific examples to mention as it does happen on occasions.
At the moment, I am doing a project for a University.
They only run Flash CS3 Flash Player 9, which already leads to issues.
I use Flash CS5 currently.
The first time I sent in a draft example, they could not open the file and also they could not play the SWF file, as they only run Flash Player 9. They will not update the Flash Player to 10 as it will affect other ongoing projects in the University.
I only purchase Master Suites, so I had to reinstall Flash CS4 from the CS4 Master Suite and also Flash CS3 from the Web Premium Suite.
The Flash CS5 file had to be saved out as Flash CS4. I then had to open the Flash CS4 file and save it for Flash CS3.
I found on occasions that opening the file in Flash CS3 cause some placement issues of Text and soemtimes, but not always some Actionscript 3 code would cause some errors.
Has Flash CS5.5 rectified this and added the option to save to Flash CS3 perhaps, this would solve alot of issues.

Actionscript 3 has changed since CS3, though what existed in CS3 has not changed. Newer versions have newer features, so new code was created to support those features.

Communications.xml Adobe Flash CS3

Hi,
I am very new on the field of flash media (streaming) server
and i am just trying to follow the examples i found to the
Developer center. I am using Flash CS3. One of the first things
that training videos note is to import the Communications.xml file
on the D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\en\First
Run\ActionsPanel\CustomActions directory and then reboot the Flash
CS3.
Unfortunately, i couldnt manage to find the new features
(actions). Am i missing anything?

to close internet explorer, even if you don't think it is
open:
On a winXP:
try ctrl-alt-del to the task manager and check the Processes
tab for the IEXPLORE process. If it is there, then select it and
click the End Process button.
If Vista, I imagine the process is much the same, as it is
still Windows, though I couldn't say it is exactly the same for
sure without Vista experience.
If Mac, then right-click (or option-click if you don't have a
2-button mouse) on the icon in the dock and tell it to quit.
If the Flash installer still won't work, then fully shut down
the computer, and restart it, trying to install Flash again as soon
as you sign in (before you open anything). If it still won't work
after that, then contact adobe directly (

How to create a comment form in Flash CS3

I am trying to create an add comment form in Flash cs3. I
have the background design and the text input areas and sub mit
buttons. But how do I get the submit button to add the comment to a
different area in the same flash file? My inputs and buttons are on
the left side of the stage and my display comments is on the right
side of the stage. How do I connect the two?

The user types something into a text input space and when the
user then uses the submit button, you want that same, user entered,
text to display in another, different, text area? If that's the
case then make that second text area a dynamic textfield and set
its text property to the text property of the input text
space.

Third-party Components not loaded in Flash CS3

Hello,
I am using Adobe Flash CS3 on Mac Ox. I have downloaded and
installed several components throught he Extension manager wich
reports they are correctly activated. When I launch Flash the
components are not listed in the Components panel. I have looked
for the .swc files but they are not present in Application >>
Flash >> First RUn >> data..I don't know if the problem
relates to the Extension manager or to flash.
Any help is much appreciated.

When you open a new file in Flash CS3, you got the option to
choose either AS2 file or AS3 file, the components are different on
each one.

Adobe flash CS3 professional trial version installation problem

is opened. I killed all the processes "iexplore.exe" , it
still complains the same thing. Please let me know...am i missing

Yes. Flash CS3 is pretty much Flash 8 with new features and
support for what
it supported before (AS1 and AS2) and more (now additionally
AS3)

Address Book Auto Save and Jump

When I enter in a new address the program seems to periodically auto save and then the cursor jumps to the note section. If I'm not paying attention I will continue to type in the notes section and then will have to delete or cut and paste. This is really annoying when entering lots of addresses. Explanation? Solution? Thanks.
