Flash cs4 and windows 7( professional) Question

I am a rookie. I have a PC with all the necessary clout to run Flash. I have run the program in every mode available, and there are problems with performance.
There are problems with tools not working (the pencil tool only draws a line upon release) .
There are problems with importing mp3 files.
I have installed and reinstalled the suite and nothing changes.
At this point I am ready to believe that the copy of CS4 I have is somehow corrupt.
OK I have detailed my frustration what I would like to know is ; Does anyone have a definitive answer as to how to run CS4 in the Windows 7 operating system.
Has anyone done so without endless problems.
Does anyone from Adobe have knowledge of the difficulties people are having?

I have similar problem. When I first installed everything seemed to work well. But then Flash began opening slowly and once the properties panel was accessed it became too slow to use. I spoke with adobe support for around an hour and they ultimately told me to reinstall. I did this with no change in outcome. I then reinstalled my graphics driver and that improved performance so now I can use Flash, but it is still extemely slow. I've noted that on the Windows 7 compatibility page Adobe says that CS4 has been tested with Windows 7 Ultimate and everything is fine. Perhaps it will only run well in virtual xp mode. Other thing that could be a problem is use of a wacom tablet and it's drivers. I have to reinstall these frequently and there appears to be a conflict with the windows 7 tablet pc features in that on a couple of occasions these have started up with my tablet.

Unfortunately, there is no explanation whatsoever provided regarding how to use the two files, and how to install my product.
I feel like I am missing something obvious here, but can someone please explain.

Try uninstalling then run the Adobe Cleaner Tool
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then double click the .exe file again.
What do I do with the .7z file?
Nothing. That's is an archive of files used by the .exe file during the installation process.

Flash CS4 on Windows 2003?

Hi --
I am wondering if anyone has successfully installed Flash CS4
on Windows
2003. I downloaded the trial from Adobe and tried to install
it on a Windows
2003 machine, and predictably it did not install although
there was no error
message. I tried using the Microsoft AppVerifier utility as I
had done to
install CS3 but that didn't work either.
If anyone has had success and can share any tips with me for
installing on
Windows 2003 that would be great.

Flash CS4 is not supported on Windows 2003 Server. It has
never been tested on that configuration.

No, it is not a backup method at all. If you delete a sync'd file on any device, you delete it permanently from iCloud. That by its very essence is not a backup solution therefore. A backup solution does not automatically and simultaneiously delete the file everywhere when it is deleted from the original source.
iCloud is strictly a syncronization tool for using files on multiple internet connected devices.

CS4 and Windows 8 compatibility

Has anyone successfully installed CS4 on Windows 8? I am currently using Windows XP and received a pop up saying Microsoft are no longer releasing updates for XP after August and I am entitled to a free download of Windows 8. I am trying to decide whether to do this but risk losing my use of CS4 which I really don't want to do. Any advice much appreciated as not sure whether to just continue with XP. Thanks in advance.

In my own experience, a change in OS has yet to be a positive experience... while most people loved XP in its day, I suffered years of poor performance with it as an upgrade from the moment it was installed and regretted doing it. Maybe you've had better experience and aren't as shy of it as I am.

Error in creating XML photo gallery with Flash CS4 and AS 3.0

Hello, all. I've been creating an XML photo gallery with Flash CS4 and AS 3.0 following a tutorial. I followed the instructions step-by-step but at the end I got the following error message instead:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Could anyone in the community assist me as to how to solve the problem? The script has no errors and last time I checked all the applicable files (the .xml file, the .jpg files, the .swf and the .fla file) are in my Documents folder on the Mac.

Check the folder structure
Flash is not able to get some file thats why the IO Error.
trace the url path just before u load the file and u will be abel to find whether that file is in specified folder or not.

HELP!! Photoshop cs4 and Windows 8 - Printer Not Found

Just installed PS cs4 on my new all-in-one with Windoz 8 and my cs4 is saying that there is no printer installed. I can print from other sources like disks and picture viewer. Are there any fixes for this??? I REALLY don't want to purchase yet another license for cs6!

Are Flash CS4 and Apple 10.6.3 not compatible?
The only way I was able to play Flash content in Safari or Firefox was to download the Gala (beta) release of Flash. However, I still can't test my swf within the Flash app (Command + Return).

The specific problem I've been having is publishing multimedia via the AS3 video and audio class(es). Videos won't play down. Audio won't play at all. I haven't gone back to this in a few weeks (as I've been delaying dealing with it)...I'm wondering if others are having similar issues?
It all works in Flash CS5...but I'm not in the mood to shell out more $$ on something that should work fine in CS4.
Very frustrating. It started as soon as I upgraded my Mac OS to 10.6.3.

CS4 Production Premium and Windows 7 Professional

After having installed CS4 on a new Computer with Windows 7 Professional and activating it Premiere doesn't work with HDTV matrial and Encore and Affter effects produce system crashes. Has anybody experience with ths sort of problem

The problem is solved meanwhile. It had to do with an incomplete activation of the CS4 software and had nothing to do with Windows 7. Now that this problem is solved everything works fine !

Hi, just to expand my understanding. Have you had other versions of flash installed prior to the CS4 one? Maybe you should run a registry cleaner; there may be a reg problem based on my understanding. Also, check to see if you have any kind of software(like an antivirus etc), this may be not letting execute the installer files correctly.
Lastly, check to see if you have all the full privileges in your computer. Are you an administrator?

Flash CS4 and XML

Hi,
I'm using Flash CS4,i'm having problems creating a xml file to work
with the action script for a 3D carousel. I've created folder for
the image png file and icons xml using a normal notepad in windows
for file to work with the flash action script 2.0, but in output menu the msg says
Error opening URL 'file:///C|/Users/User/Documents/caroselFile/icons.xml'.
They're no compiler errors. Should the notepad be xml editor? I have been
told i can use a normal notepad.
Maybe i should of saved it in the fla directry but don't know where
it is.

Newbie problems installing Flash 11 and windows 7/SWF issues-PLEASE HELP!

I am VERY new at Dreamweaver (llike four days in) - my church has a website & they need someone to take it over so I'm trying to help out while teaching myself something new.
I was doing okay til now. I downloaded a free template to play with so as not to mess up their real site just yet. I was able to get the majority of the site up except for the top part with flash. Error message says: "this page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in the most recent versions of IE. Dreamweaver cannot convert them to SWF markups. Please delete each of them and insert again" This mesage comes up on the index.html, index-1.html, and index-2.html pages.
I deleted & re-typed everything that had an SWF in it (then realized maybe I only needed to do the ones with the .swf extension, duh on me!) but I'm still getting a gray box with the "f" inside.
Additionally, I keep having to re-install Flash because it says I have to use version 10 or higher - the browserlab worked during the online lessons offered by Adobe, but now it won't work at all! I installed Flash 11 more times than I can count but it still won't work, yet when I go to my Programs flash it's installed twice - once as a 64 bit and once without. I'm assuming one of those can go.
I'm familiar with HTML and have created smaller websites using templates on sites like Yahoo Business, Wix and Office Live and thought I could handle this, but it's really stumping me, thought there'd be a learning curve and trial/error but WOW! Much respect to all you web designers out there, this stuff is no joke!
If anyone could please help me fix this problem and dumb your answer down as much as possible cuz I'm admittedly very lost! I'm worried that I'll have the same problem with the church site because they want some flash aspects. Did several internet searches & couldn't decipher the programmer jargon, nor could figure out if I was doing the suggested fixes correctly.

Older versions of DW used an Active-X JavaScript to initialize Flash in IE browsers. Adobe later switched to a different script in CS4 and again in CS5 and CS5.5 which uses SWF Object Replacement. I suspect your Template was made with an older version of Flash & DW which is why you're getting the nag screens.
Option 1: Preview the original template pages in browsers. If it works, ignore the DW error messages.
Option 2: Rebuild the Template by stripping all Flash object and embed code and removing links to any Flash supporting scripts. Then re-insert your media. Insert > Media > Flash...

How to Build a Preloader for Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3.0

With the wonderful help of many people on this site, I have successfully buit a nice website using Flash CS4. I am wanting to deploy the site this weekend and I'm working on the finishing touches. I would like to add a preloader so that the viewer will have everything loaded when the action starts. Can anyone suggest a good tutorial that shows how to make the simple "rotary lines" that are so popular? I've seen these and they look to be about an inch across and move like the hands of a clock. I think it may even say "Loading..." or similar. Since I'm still learning quite a bit, I did not know if Flash actually offers some "preloaded" tools for stuff like this? Or am I better off going to Lynda.com and taking a tutorial? Thanks for the help!

Installing Flash Player on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit IE closed but still requests closing

Windows 7 Professional is using Internet Explorer 11.0.9600 with update 11.0.15. Installing Flash Player 16.0.0.305. Starts installing and stops at 72%, advising that Internet Explorer needs to be closed and then try again. In Task Manager IE is not open. Tried going to the Active X download and ended up at the same error. We installed Windows 365, if that impacts the installation, though it has not stopped any other installations done after installing 365. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

Access connections 5 version 5.83 and windows 7 Professional 64-bit

This is the first time I use this forum, please excuse me for any mistakes. I have just installed windows 7 professional 64-bit on a thinkpad T410 and downloaded the access connections 5 version 5.83. My access connections profiles have been exported when my laptop was under win XP and have been imported under win7. The problem is that although they do function, both WLAN and LAN type of connections, I cannot have two connections (one LAN and one WLAN) running at the same time, something that it could be done under winXP. One thing that I've noticed in the profiles, that is grayed out now, which I was able to control under winXP but now I can't, is the "disable this wireless radio when switching to a different location" for WLAN profiles and
"disconnect form the network when switching to a different location" for LAN profiles. These two profile parameters helped me achieve simultaneous connections. Why are they grayed out and how can I correct this issue? Regards Marios S.

could you uninstall both wireless and wired network drivers from your system and then let win7 install its native drivers.
once done see if it happens again. also i recommend removing all network profiles and start fresh.
