FLASH CS4 freezing Windows Vista

I had similar problems with livecycle and acrobat with it
being slow and freezing (even though it was never as bad as Flash
CS4 is) but when I try to open Flash CS4 it takes FOREVER to open
and usually it doesn't open and freeze. When it does open (after I
have to wait 5 mins minimum) it usually freezes in the program.
With Acrobat, I moved the preferences folder and it helped resolve
my problem and I replaced some file with livecycle so I am assuming
there is a similar fix with possibly replacing some potential flash
cs4 settings or file? This is killing me and I can't use my
computer for Flash so I would deeply appreciate the help if anyone
can see what ways I can resolve this issue that I have been having
for quite some time now!

hopefully someone can help..

  • Need Help Installing Flash CS4 For Windows

Hi, I have downloaded the two files to install Flash CS4 for Windows from here: http://helpx.adobe.com/uk/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html
Unfortunately, there is no explanation whatsoever provided regarding how to use the two files, and how to install my product.
I feel like I am missing something obvious here, but can someone please explain.
    Kind regards,
    Finn.

Try uninstalling then run the Adobe Cleaner Tool
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then double click the .exe file again.
What do I do with the .7z file?
Nothing. That's is an archive of files used by the .exe file during the installation process.

  • Flash CS4 on Windows 2003?

    Hi --
I am wondering if anyone has successfully installed Flash CS4
    on Windows
2003. I downloaded the trial from Adobe and tried to install
    it on a Windows
2003 machine, and predictably it did not install although
    there was no error
message. I tried using the Microsoft AppVerifier utility as I
    had done to
install CS3 but that didn't work either.
If anyone has had success and can share any tips with me for
    installing on
Windows 2003 that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi Richard,
Flash CS4 is not supported on Windows 2003 Server. It has
never been tested on that configuration.

  • CS4 and Windows VISTA

    Hi out there,
had CS3 installed on Windows VISTA and experienced numerous crashes. I am editing in HD (AVCHD and HDV). Was told that Windows XP is more stable. Upgraded to CS4 and at the same time installed XP. No longer any problems. I am moving to documentaries with longish video lengths. No I am told that XP only sees limited file sizes (3.5Gb ?) and VISTA would be the answer (also 64 bit). I don't want to go back to VISTA and experience the crashes again. Anyone experience with VISTA and CS4? Has the stability of VISTA in the meantime improved to the level of XP? Or has CS4 learned to handle VISTA? Advise appreciated. Helmuth

I am told that XP only sees limited file sizes (3.5Gb ?)
This is the amount of RAM that the OS sees, and is NOT the limit on file sizes. The only file size limitations will come from working with DV-AVI Type I files, or from using FAT-32 formatted HDD's. PrPro is built around using DV-AVI Type II files, which are not limited in file size.
As John points out, one can work with Projects of vastly larger sizes, than the amount of RAM.

  • Installation Flash cs3 with Windows Vista Ultimate

I am trying to use Flash on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Installing the program tells me a mistake "error in the
installation component". I have tried to install in administrator
    mode and windows account manager
Can anyone tell me how to install Flash for suite cs3?

I would download a new installer, you can get the trial
installer, then just enter your serial when you first run it.
Sounds like a corrupt exe. But yes, make sure and run as
Administrator by right clicking the file.

  • How to install Flash Player with Windows Vista 64 bit?

IE 9, Windows Vista 64-bit, Flash Player quit working and won't install. Error Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55.  I have deactivated User Accounts and Security, gone to Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash and Run as Administrator NPSWF32_FlashUtil, and still not working.  One suggestion was to run an add-on from Macromedia, but that failed and I don't know what the add-on was.  Have also run System Restore and restored all my Internet security setttigs to default.  Nothing is working!

If you can not see the moving sphere: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
    Check the following:
Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer 9
ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer 9
    Also check this:
In I.E.9, click Tools, click Internet options, click Security tab, ensure that the Internet security level is Medium-high.

  • Cannot install Photoshop CS4 on Windows Vista Business

Ok people, looking for some help with this.  I have a new PC (less than 2 months old).  I cannot get Photoshop CS4 installed at all.  I'm sure there have been a million threads like this before asking the same question.  Although I am a newb to Photoshop I am certainly not when it comes to computers, this is what I do for a living.  I can't even believe I am actually having to ask for help.... :\
Anyway, help appreciated.  I have Windows Vista Business SP1 (32-bit), and its running on a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz with 4 gig of RAM.  I have plenty of free space on my hard drives.
When the install completes, I get the same error message, installed with errors.  When I click to see the error info it says something about language packs (I can get the exact error if you want, just installed and uninstalled about 10 times but hey).
Things I have tried a few times have been to follow through all the other threads and the Adobe support pages - Uninstalling the product through Programs first, running Windows Install Cleanup, running the Adobe CS4 Clean Script - when I do these things in this order both of the cleanup utilities don't find any installs of Photoshop CS4, so it doesn't appear they are doing anything.  I have disabled everything on the PC, done a selective startup, turned off UAC, firewall, anti-virus - everything suggested.  Still, the same error persists.
I have even run my Registry Mechanic and cleaned up that, and of course checked registry permissions etc.  Please help!

You may want to install Vista SP2. It contains a lot of fixes and has the newer 4.5 installer.
Also if Vista is set for English then CS4 has to be set as US English upon install (I think someone already pointed that out).
Before install go services and set the windows installer to auto and start it. Also good idea to turn off windows defender.
Go to MSconfig and turnoff as many start up items that you don't need running (you will have to reboot).
Ensure nothing Adobe related is running in the back ground before install. (someone already mention this I think)
Anti-virus: I turned mine off during install.
I did not install AIR nor Device Central on my system as I would never use them.
    Tiernobyl wrote:
Ok, so I've tried all the things suggested above but still get the same errors....
    Adobe AIR
    Error:
    Error 2.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
    Error:
    Error 2.
    LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
    Error:
    Error 2.
Anyone else have any idea what might be causing my problem?  The other thing I was going to try was contacting Adobe support, but can I do this for the trial version?  When I tried to log a case it kept asking me to select my product, but I don't have one yet....
    Thanks.

  • Installing Flash trial on Windows Vista

Hi, I want to try out Flash and have downloaded the free 30
day trial onto my PC (Windows Vista). There were no errors when I
downloaded and then the files were extracted but when I click on
the icon on my screen it just gives me a list of files, none of
which seem to actually open my Flash trial. I'm really struggling
with this and am not very confident either so any basic
pointers/suggestions would be very much appreciated as I am
clueless as to what to try next. Thanks in anticipation!

SAPinst is having problems starting up.
Please post the sapinst.log file from C:\Program Files\sapinst_dir
Make sure you do the following.
    1.) Turn off Windows Firewall
    2.) Turn off UAC (http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm)
    3.) Install right version of JRE/JDK (1.4.2 Update 29)
4.) Set the correct User Environment Variables (JAVA_HOME, SAPSYSTEMNAME)
5.) Delete all SAP folders/contents in TEMP folder of your user profile (C:/Users/ULRICH~1.HNP/AppData/Local/Temp/.....).
5.) Delete C:\Program Files\sapinst_dir\ folder.  This will be recreated when SAPinst starts again.
Give this a shot and see what happens.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Can't install flash cs4 on windows 7

    hello everybody,
I'm running windows 7 ultimate and I'm trying to install flash cs4 professional with no luck.
it always get stuck and about 93% and i get the error massage the it can't install flash cs4
    please help me

Hi, just to expand my understanding. Have you had other versions of flash installed prior to the CS4 one? Maybe you should run a registry cleaner; there may be a reg problem based on my understanding. Also, check to see if you have any kind of software(like an antivirus etc), this may be not letting execute the installer files correctly.
Lastly, check to see if you have all the full privileges in your computer. Are you an administrator?
Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope this information is useful.
    Vicente Tulliano.

  • Installing Flash Player with Windows Vista Home Premium

I'm trying to install Flash Player on an older system running Windows Vista Home Premium. Do I need an older version of Flash Player?

Actually, unlike Adobe Reader, Flash Player is officially supported on Vista: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html

  • Flash Player Streaming Windows Vista

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to
    stream audio and video content.
My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no
streaming content will play at all. Simple Flash animations work,
but nothing that accesses the Flash Media Server for content. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of the Flash Player
on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new
"Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32"
folder and ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed
all of the available updates through "Windows Update".
I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com
and they don't play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or
know what I need to do to fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in
the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.

WHY do you need an older version?
I have 13 on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine. It works fine.

  • Adobe Flash CS4 Freezes when I try to put a PNG in the library

I am working with Adobe Flash Proffesional CS4 and I have a lot of items in the library. When I try to put another piece of art, such as a PNG, a JPG, or any other format, the program stops letting me interact with it, making that generic microsoft "ding" and the Library stays at that outlined green as if it's still waiting for the art to be put in there. I end up having to close Flash by using Task Manager. I can save the file, but when I go back to it, the PNG I put in there is no longer there.

I am having the same issue with Flash CS4. Did you find a solution?

  • Flash Player freezes Windows

Flash player froze Windows every time I tried to use it.. I was referred to the Adobe page for troubleshooting this issue, but that did not help.  The problem was with their recommendation to update the drivers using Control panel etc.  I describe this as a problem because Windows confirmed that every driver was up to date and functioning properly. Still the problem persisted.  Then I found Driver Max.  It was reviewed well on CNet, and because a reformat was the only alternative, I tried it.  It found 7 drivers to be out of date.    After 5 of the drivers had been installed, Adobe is now runningt fine.  That could change of course, but I have not gotten a full day of video use without a crash before.  I am only posting this because blog posts and forum solutions range from totally incomplete to completely destructive.  I discovered this by sheer persistance.  Windows itself was totally misleading.    I don't care if you use it or not, but this free service may help you.  Has anyone else used Driver Max?

I'm sure it was caused by outdated drivers.  The scan identifies the drivers individually. I downloaded them individually, set a restore point, installed each one and restarted. Each step is controlled by the program itself.  Of seven idnetified I only had to roll back one.  Even that was easy with the software provided. It is very complete and well thought out.  All of them installed correctly and work perfectly.  I have had no futrther issues with Flash since these updates. Unfortunately I cannot identify which one may have caused the conflict as I did them in sequence and didn't bother to test Flash in between.  It is easy to use, current, fail safe with the retore points and I continue to recommend it.  Have you tried it yet?
