Flash CS4 running very very slow

I posted a question before about this but the things suggested haven't worked, I am using CS4 Flash for the Mac. OSX 10.5 I have loads of hard drive space left but since crashing a few months ago after working fine, flash has become increasingly slower and slower, selecting anything or creating key frames or moving a shape has at least a 5 second delay no. This problem used to only start about 2 minutes into opening the programme but now it is like this from start up. It's making it nearly impossible to complete my work which is proving very stressful. since yesterday it has started effecting any other progammes I use. I only ever used Flash on it's own with sometimes Firefox open. Now firefox runs slowly when flash is open and most of the time Flash ends up crashing and has at one point said there was no memory to complete the task (I have plenty of hard drive space and I thought these new macs automatically assigned RAM to programmes that needed it) IT's becoming really buggy and sometimes clicking on a shape will make parts of the shape dissapear and yesterday it wouldn't let me use the keyboard shortcuts for any of the tools, it just kept error beeping at me.
Could it be that there are some temporary files being saved somewhere they shouldn't? The project I'm working on is only about 60mb in size but is acting like it's 1000000mb or something.
I'd really appreciate any help as this is prooving very stressful!

Hi,
Reinstalling your version is a good solution, but you have to make sure you do a clean uninstall. If the problem exist, try the version on another machine other wise contact the customer support.

It seems the default workspace layouts were created on a
wide-screen monitor. For smaller monitors with certain monitor
resolutions, the Library panel will appear blank because the
Library's preview area takes up all the Library's real estate,
covering up the content area.
To fix this, undock the Library panel, then resize it
vertically as much as you can. Eventually, you will see the preview
area give way to the Library's content area.

Help!! Flash CS3 and CS4 "Test Movie" very slow on OS X

This is a problem that, having read many forums, affects a
very large amount of people, though Adobe doesn't care at all. It
only affects OS X users. I know that it has been addressed many
times in different forums, but I never actually stumbled across
anyone having found a solution.
When I use Flash CS3, and I make any animation, even the
simplest tween, and I preview it with Test Movie, the result I get
is an extremely slow playback. Something like half the FPS it
should be.
However, when I export the SWF and preview it in the external
Flash Player or in a browser, it's just fine and fast.
Another interesting thing is that in CS3, when I open the
Help panel, the problem with Test Movie only happens like 20% of
the time. In that case, it only gets solved if I restart or Log Out
at least. I have no idea why the Help panel being open solves the
problem, this only shows that this is probably a little graphic
user interface bug, or something similar, that could be solved very
very easily.
In Flash CS4, there is no Help panel, so there is no solution
to the problem.
It would be nice to be able to press Cmd + Enter to see the
movie, and not have to do File > Export > bla bla bla, open
Finder, Find the SWF, double click it, wait for the browser to
open... etc...
I have a brand new 2.5 GHz MacBook Pro, and Test Movie runs
faster on my 900MHz Pentium III PC!! Funny...

CS4 apps are VERY slow to open Windows file browser with File Open or File Save As commands

We are running CS4 on Windows 7 with all available updates installed. Photoshop and the other CS4 applications are VERY slow to open a Windows file browsing window to select files when File Open or File Save As menu options are run -- it can take as long as a minute or two for the window to open. Once the window opens and a file is selected, then opening or saving the file is very quick. The location of the default directory, whether it is on a local drive or a network drive, makes no difference. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2501584. I discovered in my network that the MS Office File Validation Patch made excel crawl when opening over the network though nothing else changed. At the time I was opening Excel on Office 2003.
You can manually turn this off by editing the registry and tunring it off. Going forward I skipped the patch to keep my sanity. Not sure if this is the same as your issue, but the support article will go into detail how to either have Fix it
clear the issue or change the proper registry keys.

How do I fix CS4 from rendering very slow?

I just swithced from CS3 to CS4. The process went well and I did not have to reinstall CS4 to access my projects; thanks to all your help.
After installing CS4 I uninstalled CS3 then I defragged.
Now rendering takes a very long time in CS4.
What is the magic button I need to push to speed things up?
I have Vista 64 bit
8GB RAM
6000X2 at3.1Hz processor

Is the slow render issue happening when you open a CS3 *.prproj with Premiere CS4? We've had many issues with CS3 projects opened with CS4. For example, stuttering video that has blur effects applied. I recommend you avoid doing that. Many have reported that CS3 and CS4 can peacefully co-exist on the same system. That may be your solution if you need to revisit CS3 projects.
Then of course there is the issue of hardware specs. CS4 runs great on the new Intel i7 processors with lots of RAM...6GB+. Harm has a good article on video editing hardware specs. The only point I disagree with is on packing a full tower case full of high capacity hard drives. We have found that in many cases when one of our editing system slows to a crawl, the cause is a hard drive that has one type of issue or another. One workaround if you want to load up on internal drives is a quality hot-swappable cage that holds multiple drives. Kingwin has a model for instance that holds 4 drives and uses up only 3 DVD-sized computer case openings. There could be drive cooling issues with the Kingwin product because the included fans are small and some have claimed, "cheap".
We use the Panasonic P2 cameras. The video looks great and the resolution is all that we need for the type of work that we do. Editing is smooth when we edit P2 on external drives connected via E-Sata. This keeps the internal drives to a minimum.
I would take a look at the new SSDs for your system drive, and install two additional internal drives. Look at the consumer drive ratings on newegg.com. For example, some of the Seagate 1.5's have reliability issues.

hi everyone I have a 13 inch mid 2012 MacBook pro,
it is running very very slow and extremely hot, I downloaded a program called smc fan control and it is reading the internal temperature of my computer as 80 degrees Celsius. I was looking on the forums and saw that I should run an apple hardware test. which I have done and it is coming up with Error 4/MOT/4/40000002: EXHAUST-2003
what does this mean? is it something to do with my fan?
also there is a very strange clicking noise when I lift the mac up or if its on its side and sometimes it just randomly freezes, the computer does not respond and then it restarts.
what do I do?

The lint and crap builds up in the heat exchanger radiator. It's the grilled thing at the output of the fan.

Look at step 6. It's that grilled thing at the top of the fan. If you remove the fan that radiator is probably clogged with lint. Brush it all away and if possible blow out the fan with compressed air. Make sure the fan turns freely and doesn't feel stiff.

Reasons why CS6 is running very very slow?

I have InDesign CS6 and the program is running extremely slow. I have googled and tried all troublshooting options but still cannot even highlight a sentence without it taking 30 seconds. Just going from one document to the next takes a very very long time. Besides for turning preflight off and other tricks is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?

Are you working documents from an older version of Indesign? I found that even though the document is "converted" Indesign CC has major problems with any older version's files.
I had to convert all my old files by copying masters and pages to a new, blank indesign cc document. All the speed issues went away.
Unfortunately, even though you can open the file, I don't feel it's compatible because you can't really work at that speed and still be profitable.

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.

Tutorial project runs very very slow.

I have just started to work with OAFramework and I am trying to execute the tutorial project. After configurating all my enviroment I am able to run properly this project with "Run > Run test_fwktutorial.jsp" but the problem is that it runs very very slow. It takes at least 5 minutes to load the "Hello World!" and the same time to load the other pages.
We work with Patch Jdeveloper 5455514 and our system is Oracle Applications 11.5.10 RUP4.
We are connected to our system via a VPN client. Could it be the reason for this poor performance or are there other things I shoud have to modify?

Hi Xavier,
There can be multiple reasons why the Jdeveloper is very slow. VPN might be one of them. Try accessing the Oracle Applications using the VPN connectivity and observe the speed. Try to do some transaction and notice whether database is slow or not. You can also double click the jpx file and check for the db connectivity by clicking on 'Test Connection' and see how much time it takes. The other reasons why the Jdeveloper is slow might be because you have multiple projects opened. You can also try to close the Jdeveloper session and restart again by deleting the myclasses and systems folder.
See whether one of these approaches help.

*** Be warned though - make sure you already have contacts up in iCloud before doing this:
1. Bring up System Preferences, go to iCloud and uncheck "Contacts"
2. You need to remove the folder /Users/<your_name>/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
If you have issues removing, quit Mail and Contacts
If you don't have contacts in iCloud, try renaming the folder
3. Reboot the machine
4. Bring up System Preferences, go to iCloud and now check "Contacts"
Now when you bring up Contacts, it should sync with iCloud, Mail and Messages will work fine.

I don't know how else to phrase that. I'm a pretty good user, but after defragging, backing up, and getting rid of a bunch of files that "may" slow down performance of firefox, the fact is, "the connection was reset" comes up five or six times a day--AND the browser is going slow as molasses. I haven't had this much trouble since before I got my new dell.

hello whatagem123, it is never a good idea to stick with outdated versions of firefox just for the sake of addons, as this will put the integrity of your system and your the personal data on it at risk - there are various [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html known security vulnerabilities (some of them highly critical)] that were fixed in later versions!
so please [[Update Firefox to the latest version]] & [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ update your plugins] (your java plugin has security vulnerabilities that are actively and widely exploited on the web).
afterwards i'd recommend resetting firefox - this will keep your bookmarks and passwords but will get rid of most other customizations. this might well fix both the issues you've described in your question...

ACE running very very very SLOW

I am using Postalsoft DeskTop Mailer ver 7.90c, have updated all new directories, installed the new hot fix. Why is ACE not loading into memory (check box is checked) or if it is why is it running very very very SLOW ? I installed software on two different computers and they run exactly the same - SLOW

Just make sure to choose BOJ-EIM-COM for the component when logging a case for DeskTop Mailer, or Business Edition.
We are aware of this issue with 7.90 DeskTop Mailer and Business Edition. This is corrected in revision 4 due out this week. Please make sure to have your auto update turned on in the software so you get this fix.

T500 running very very slow on specific WIFI network only???

Hi,
This problem is driving me absolutely crazy. It means that I can only use my PC at home if I use a cable connection to the router....
Problem is that on my home network my T500 is having a very very slow access to the internet via wireless. On all other wifi network I have connected to there is no issue and speed is high.
Also several colleagues have been here with their T500 and none of them experience any issues with speed. We all run on the same t500 model, ordered at the same time and with same setup. We use Windows XP.
I have tried to update all drivers, I have called my network provider who have updated router software, changed frequency and all other things they could do to avoid interference etc.
I have two other PC's at home - none of them have any issues.
I have done a web seacrh and could see that I am far from alone with this strange issue of a T500 being slow on only a specific network (often a home network). Many different routers are involved, so I dont think it is arouter problem (would also mean that my colleagues identical t500s would have issues right??).
Have there been any reolution to this T500 problem??

Which model of wireless card are you using? Intel 5100 or 5300 or thinkpad version?
