  • Flash Builder 4.6 code hinter problem - not showing some methods

    Hi All,
I have a problem with FB code hinter. It does not show some methods on an object.
To be exact I created a Date object and FB code hinter does not show .toDateString method (actually I it shows only one to string method - .ToString(), although according to docs there are more)
When I use .toDateString method, code still compiles and work just fine, however method is not showing up in code hinter, which is really annoying..
Anyone had this problem? If so, please, share some wisdom how to solve this thing.
    Thanks in advance.
    UPDATE:
Here is some more info in my problem.
I have tried to reinstall the application, but it did not help.
    So what I did was:
    * first I installed FB standard edition version 4.
    * I checked the code hinter and it worked. It showed .toDateString method.
    * I have purchased FB standard 4.5 upgrade.
    * I installed this upgrade, and boom the code hinter does not show the method...
    * Next I tried to create a project with Flex 4.1 sdk and then it worked - method was there. So the problem is with 4.6 sdk apparently...sucks...

Hi, I have the same problem. I have a new FB 4.6 installation and it is my first FB installation. Do you have a solution already?

  • Flash CS5 component code hints?

Does anyone know how to get code hinting to work with Flash CS5 components? Even when the components are imported it stilll doesn't give any code hinting.

  • Flash CS5 - code hinting doesn't show custom class constructor parameters

Hi I've got other strange problem my code hinting works almost fine the  problem is that when I create my custom class object code hinting  doesn't show what kind of parameters can be passed to the class  constructor. It shows only "MyClass()", when i call a method like this  class_object.methodName( - parameters show correctly. What can be the  problem?

I do not work for Adobe, just a fellow forum dweller.
The example was made quickly because you said this:
I've tried flash builder but if there is a way to associate code directly from it to symbols on the timeline I haven't been able to find it.
    Now you know how.
I'm sorry but I don't even have Flash CS6. I still use CS5.5 because I use Flash Builder 4.6 for everything I do. I merely use Flash Pro to generate quick libraries full of goodies and export a SWC to use in Flash Builder.
I realize it's obvious but you did ensure your preferences had hinting both enabled and the delay set low (or zero)? I can only show you a CS5.5 preference panel, I'm not sure if it's the same. Note one important thing in this photo which is "Cache size". I have mine on 800 files which seems to be fine. If you're pointing toward a HUGE library of classes you may want to increase that number and check completion again.

  • Flash Builder - No Code Hinting For New Flash Professional Project??

I had been using flash builder as an as3 editor and compiling from flash builder. The Flash Professional Project in Flash Builder seems perfect. It will give me the flexibility to compile from Flash Professional, or compile from the flex sdk, use breakpoints, have all my files nicely in the package explorer.
However, it has been a terrible terrible experience. For some reason code hinting is completely turned off on all levels in Flash Professional Projects. I have been looking in every preference panel trying to figure out why this is happening. If it is actually the case that you get no code hinting whatsoever then they really should not have even bothered adding this into Flash Builder because coding in this fashion is a joke.
However, I am still optimistic about it. Can someone help me turn on code hinting?

Ok. Solved it. The issue was that we were using linked source code and library swcs that were all located under the same directory. When you pull up the project's properties and go to "Flex Build Path" under the "Source Path" tab you can add that directory without a problem. However, under the "Library Path" instead of just adding the directory, I added each swc individually and that solved my problem. Now all the code hinting is working perfectly.

Hey guys I've tried multiple times installing adobe flash cs5, and everytime I get the same problem. I'l post the log below.

    'payloads\Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86\Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86.msi'
If it prompts for the path point to itself (i.e. Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86.msi). It would get installed successfully.
    Now re-run the full installer.

  • Adobe Flash CC 2014 Code Hint - Unable to build code hint cache...

Hello! I just downloaded and tried to use Flash CC 2014. Code Hinting doesn't work! So I tried some way to bring it back. And the following solution worked:
    1. Quit Flash
    2. Delete Code Hint Folder: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CC 2014\en_US\Configuration\CodeModel
    3. Open Flash and create a new document. Edit => Preferences => Code Editor. Change "Cache Files" to 1500
    4. write: import<space>
You should see that warning: "Building Code Hint Cache...". If not, press Ctrl + <Space>
    5. Wait 1 minute and enjoy your code hinting
    Hope this help for someone...
    (Sorry for my poor English)

I have the very same problem, Im on OSX though (Mavericks), but I found the CodeModel folder in Library/Application Support/Adobe... and deleted it.
Followed all the steps and nothing still happens when I type import followed by the spacebar. I havent seen any "cache being built" messages.
I have the latest version of Flash CC 2014 according to my CC manager.
Please help, coding suddenly became really difficult.
    Regards
Edit: I have also not deleted the "." folder in the Source Path

  • Flash CS4 - Images in gallery will not show- TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot co

    So for my A2 studies I have to make an interactive product using flash. Long story short, I needed to make a flash gallery. I am using the "Zen Gallery Flash Component" and this is my code;
    galleryInstance.albums=[                                                             {                                                                         imagesFolder:"N:\ICT\ICT Unit 10\Prototype 3\images",                                                                       icon:"4.jpg",                                                                       items:                                                                       [                                                                                 {source:"1.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"2.png"},                                                                                 {source:"3.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"4.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"5.jpg"}                                                                       ]                                                             },                                                             {                                                                       imagesFolder:"N:\ICT\ICT Unit 10\Prototype 3\images",                                                                       icon:"8.jpg",                                                                       items:                                                                       [                                                                                 {source:"6.png"},                                                                                 {source:"7.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"8.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"9.jpg"},                                                                                 {source:"10.jpg"}                                                                       ]                                                             }                                                             ]; galleryInstance.build();
The user manual does not specify any more coding is needed (I read all the relevant parts and couldn't find anything). The problem is that my images do not show but when exporting the flash product, the gallery is fully functionon - it seems that it cannot locate my images.
    In addition to this, I get multiple Output Errors;
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.events::IOErrorEvent@2d09a709 to Error. TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.events::IOErrorEvent@2d09a709 to Error. TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.events::IOErrorEvent@2d09a709 to Error.etc..
    What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure, the gallery just appeares to be an SWF.
This is all that came up when I clicked it (I had a look at the parameters and they don't seem to help in the addition of pictures).
There appears to be no forum for this flash component :L

  • I have the latest Adobe flash player installed but it does not show up in my add-ons or plug-ins on Firefox 3.6. In the plug-in check, it recognizes that the shockwave flash is up to date. How can I have the plug-in appear and be enabled on firefox?

I have uninstalled the flash player and installed it numerous times with no recognition by the Firefox plug-ins. I also have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it as well. I have also restarted my computer several times as well. The flash player is certainly installed but not working on Firefox. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • CS5 jQuery Code Hinting

I'm messing around in DW CS5 and I'm trying to get coding hinting to work for jQuery. I setup the standard function $(document).ready(function...
But now hinting. I even try ctrl + space but only get the standard javascript code hints. Do I have to set this up in the site-specific code hint option?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hmm.
    Ok. Here's what I did.
I created a folder in my documents and added the latest version of jquery.
Added the folder to my site specific code hint and created a new js file and tried but again only the standard javascript is poping up.
Can you step me through the process?
    Thanks.

  • DW CS5 problem- Windows XP - window not showing up - only frame

I installed Dreamweaver CS5 on my older (5 yrs) Sony Vaio laptop with a Pentium M processor and 2 gig of ram running Windows XP Home with Service Pack 3. When Dreamweaver launches, there is that green box/shape that shows up while the program starts completely. That shape is missing the "text" box. See the big hole there? (It happens every time whether I am launching MSWord at the same time or not.) Like this:
Then the bigger problem is in the define a new site window that only appears with the frame and the two spots where you "could" define your site information. I can't continue past this screen. I am new to using DW on a PC. I have DW CS4 on my Mac, but need it to work with Access and ColdFusion for an online class I'm taking.
Other windows such as the help window do the same kind of thing. A frame appears with no content. If you can see, there is even some weird stuff across the top of the window in the second image. It shows whatever is beneath Dreamweaver - this time it was a blank MSWord document. After the Help tab at the top and before and after the Designer button.
I have been in touch with Adobe Product Help three times and they have escalated the case to the next level of support... which means I'm waiting with baited breath for 24-48 hours when they have promised a response to this issue.
I tried doing this to resolve the issue with the guidance of Adobe support:
Free up space on hard drive (now >50% available)
    Uninstall and reinstall (no errors)
    Install latest update
Deleted Dreamweaver folder out of Registry Edit area
    Increased virtual memory
Modify the start page information in the registry edit area and then changed it back after it didn't work
I know this is an old computer - but does anyone have any other suggestions I could try?
Thanks for any help provided! Casper29

Try making sure that the iPod is connected to a USB port in the rear of your computer. Try to use one of the original ports that came with your computer, not an added in card, or through a hub, or anything like that.
See if you're able to restore the iPod
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
Also, have a look at this article, and see if you can find anything useful in here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61711
If you're able to get your computers to recognize your iPods, but you're still not getting it set up in iTunes, have a look at this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
Uninstalling your iTunes will not erase any of the music that you have saved on there. Music that you download from iTunes, or import from a CD, saves as a file in:
Start > My Music > iTunes > iTunes Music
If you downloaded a song from a different source (such as Limewire) and you edited the information so that it shows up correctly on your iPod, you may need to go back and re-edit this information. But, if you imported from CD or downloaded from iTunes, this will not be necessary. When you open your newly installed version of iTunes, it will automatically pull your music from that location and bring it up in your library.
If you're having this problem when installing a new iPod on your computer, but an older one works without problems, you might want to try to make sure you have updated software
    iTunes 6.0.4
Open iTunes > Help > About iTunes
    If you need to update:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    iPod Updater 2006-03-23
Start > All Programs > iPod
    If you need to update:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/download
If you are indeed having a problem with your iPod itself, have Apple replace it for you:
    http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod
    Hope this information is helpful!
    Best wishes,
