Flash CS5 Symbol stage stuck in top left corner

In my adobe Flash CS5 when i create a new symbol it opens in a new screen as normal. the stage that I can edit it on however is stuck in the top left when I zoom out and it's starting to drive me nuts. I can't work with it like that. Anybody know how to fix this?

You want View -> Pasteboard. If there is a check mark you will be able to see the pasteboard all the way around the stage. If you turn it off then you will have the stage stuck to the top left corner.
At one point I had never heard of this thing. I think I even tried reinstalling Flash I was so annoyed with it!

  • Mouse frozen - stuck in top left corner

    Mouse is stuck in top left corner of log in screen.
    Will not move.
    Have restarted repeatedly and also done a safe mode restart.
    Any ideas or has the trackpad simply died?

    I didn't even suggest that because I would have thought that would be the first thing anyone would have checked for!   If you flip the on/off switch on the bottom of the mouse do you have a blinking green light?  Whether you do or don't, if you are unsure of the batteries then replace them.

  • Icon Stuck in Top Left Corner of Screen

    I have an icon of some sorts stuck in the top left hand corner of my screen. It's not really an icon, it's a tiny box and it was a box with a folder icon inside and when I would click on the folder it would show me the contents. Than I deleted the folder and now it's just a question mark inside a box and when I click it it says empty. I try to move/delete it but I can't. It's like stuck there. It's just a tiny square with a question mark inside. It's not part of the desktop though because when I swipe down with all four fingers on the trackpad to do Expose, it shows up as a program that's running but I can't get it off my screen. I tried restarting and shuttting down my computer but still nothing!

    Press Command-Option-Esc and see what it's called in the window that pops open, you can Force Quit it from there but it also sounds like it's in your StartUp/Login items and should be removed from there too ? (System Preferences/Accounts - yourname Login items)

  • My airbook is completely frozen: cursor/ rainbow ball stuck in top left corner

    I dusted my computer last week, very gently. Right after that the trackpad went all sticky. There was no water on cloth.  I wiped the stickiness off.
    The computer continued working normally.
    A day later my screen froze for the first time ever in almost 2 years of daily usage.
    The computer doesn't reboot when I press the power button for 15 seconds.
    I've tried powering it down: no luck.
    I've tried pressing command + alt + escape ALSO command +control + escape
    I have no clue what to do and I live in a remote area.
    I'd appreciate any help.  Thank you.

    The next time you hold down the power button shut it off hold down the Shift KEY so that you reboot into safe mode. Continue holding the shift key down until you see the spinning wheel/sundial . From Safe mode you can run Applications/ Utilities/ Disk Utility-> DIsk First Aid, Verify DIsk and Repair Permissions.
    You should not attempt to do or use anything else while in safe mode... we want to stabilize your computer before you attempt to use it normally again.
    I expect that there may be repairs made to some permissions.
    If disk verification fails come back and I will tell you what to try next.

  • Satellite L300 - Black screen and flashing cursor in top left corner

    11 July 2010
    My computer bought 7 March 2009.
    I am not sure if there is a voltage issue, but there is certainly a heat issue and has been since I bought it, almost constantly overheating. For circa 2 months it has become increasingly slower to load to desktop. For circa 1 month the operating system became stuck in a reboot cycle - rebooting over and over instead of starting up normally.
    On 11 July 2010, the Windows XP operating system would not boot. Switched on to black screen, flashing cursor in top left corner. The computer does not have a Windows Startup Disk and will not boot into: -
    Safe Mode
    Safe Mode with Networking
    Safe Mode with Command Prompt
    Last Known Good Configuration (most recent settings that worked)
    Start Windows Normally
    System Restore - will not provide access.
    Recovery Console - the Windows XP CD will boot and provided access to the tool called Recovery Console. Procedures carried out: -
    Fix a corrupt Boot.ini - YES
    Fix a corrupt partition boot sector - YES
    Fix a corrupt master boot record - NO
    I have pressed F2, F8, F10 and F12.

    Hello
    It seems that something has muddled up your Windows installation and so the computer cant boot anymore.
    In this case you have only one option and thats reinstalling Windows. Therefore you can take a Microsoft Windows XP disk or (better) Toshiba recovery disk. It will restore factory settings and your computer is read to use again.
    Check this!!!

  • My MacBook Pro just turned itself off while installing Windows 7. It has now got a black screen with a white flashing bar in the top left corner...what can I do?

    I was just installing windows 7 onto my MacBook Pro. I selected to have 200GB for Windows and the rest leave for Mac.
    I clicked install and the bar filled up as it should do. However, once the install had completed, my MacBook turned itself off. I assumed this was normal. Now, my MacBook has a black screen with a white flashing underscore in the top left corner.
    What is wrong and what should I do?

    Hold down the Option key when starting up then on the sceen that comes up select Mac OS X to boot from.
    The Win 7 install didn't go well and is hung in some way. You should use boot camp assistant to remove the win partition and start over.
    Make sure you are using a Retail version of Win 7. A Branded OEM version, like ones from Dell and HP, will NOT work to install Windows 7 on your Mac.

  • T61 lock symbol in the top left corner? No access of anything.

    Okay so I had a fan error I took the laptop apart to clean the fan it worked "I think"A  lock now appeared in the top left corner With another symbol next to it which looks like a computer but its so small I can't tell so is there anyway to get around this otherwise if there isn't my job is at stake and with this economy I think I just might jump off a bridge after talking with my psychiatrist of course I changed my mine... Any ideas send me ASAP!!! I have no time to watse. so let me tell you what i have tried i have tried holding the esc key after boot up for different boot up choices and and i have tried F8 also i even tried F12... idk why and i have tried the 'Fn" key with the lock symbol on my keybooard to see what that would do i don't know what else to do with only another harddrive, 2 (2gb;1Gb) more ram, and the tools to take apart the laptop. I would be so happy to know i won't have to spend money on this machine cuz i am in the negetives here just barely living... help me or im outta the picture for good as to be honest this laptop is my life and it has everything i need on it to succeed in the near future along with many expensive programs that could make or break me. jeez im hopeless right now this  is it i've googled to the point i was gonna pick up this desktop at this library and smash it and walk out like nothing even happened.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Remove keyboard
    block fan-propeller with a match or toothpick
    blow compressed air through the fan ribs from outside into the notebook.
    finally clean the fan gently with a vacuum cleaner while the fan still is blocked with the match/toothpick
    If the fan error still comes up, you'll need a new fan/heat sink.

    Yes, I agree - 10 seconds can be a bit short for a backlight, but it makes you read faster and act faster - and that is a skill you can use everywhere in live.
    In my next Nokia I hope they take it down to 9 seconds :-)

  • Cursor/Mouse is stuck in top left hand corner by apple icon HELP

    My cursor is stuck in the upper left hand corner and will not budge. I've restarted from the OS disk, looked at system profiler - usb profile and the mouse appears. This means it should be software related, not hardware related. I've restarted the cpu multiple times logging in under differnt users and have replaced the mouse & keyboard it's attached too with backups. NOTHING WORKS! My mouse is stuck in the top left hand corner barely touching the apple icon. When I click the mouse, the drop down menu appears so it is communicating with the cpu. However it just will not move/track anywhere! I'm an almost 20 yr mac user having survived a few 'sad mac' faces in the Mac Classic, Performa, & 8100 days, but have never run across something like this before.
    HELP PLEASE!!! Would love to know a fix for this, or even what has caused it. In lieu of that I suppose I'd be okay with re-installing my system software as all programs & sensative info is on a seperate HD.
    FYI I can't reinstall by rebooting via OS disc because the mouse doesn't work. Any help here?
    FYI I do not have (not sure what it's called exactly) the function/preference turned on which allows me to move the cursor with the keyboard & can't get it turned on now as I can't navigate the system preferences windows in a functional manner.
    Thanks & PLEASE HELP,
    Phillip

    Phillip,
    I had this problem recently with a 3-year old Mac Pro intel, which was eventually replaced by Apple due to myriad other problems. When the frozen mouse happened, there was nothing I could do. Very frustrating to have the screen boot and the cursor is up there stuck, on the top left corner of the screen. Frozen. I called support several times. They were amazed. At one point they had me buy a cheap USB mouse (I was using a wireless mouse from Logitech and they thought there might be some kind of conflict). The USB mouse didn't work, either. Neither did an Apple mouse when I went out to buy one.
    I ended up driving 70 miles to take the Mac to an Apple Store. I think they reinstalled the (Leopard) system in some secret way, because when the mouse was frozen so was everything else and I couldn't open the disk drive to put the OSX disk in there.
    Why I'm here right now is that the same thing happened today with my NEW 3-month-old REPLACEMENT MAC PRO using its brand new wireless mouse, and I was hoping to find some insight. Again, a frozen cursor after the boot. Same top-left corner of the screen. Unlike you, when I click the mouse nothing happens -- no drop down.
    Luckily, when I hard-rebooted by holding the button in, the mouse cursor came back. This time. Now I am afraid to turn my computer off. Been there done that before. Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How do i fix a frozen mouse? It is stuck in the top left corner of the screen.

    How do I fix a mouse that is frozen in the top left corner of the screen? I have tried rebooting and unplugging but it will not un freeze it.

  • G symbol on top left corner - not disappearing

    Hello any one.
    I have a really annoying G in the top left corner of my 6230i. I have looked at the manual, and selected Only When Needed on the connectivity GPRS thing, but it still stays. Can someone tell me if I am getting charged for anything, or what this G is? And why it won't go????
    Thanks.
    PP

    If you have GPRS set to when available the G will show.
    As for are you being charged I would think a call to your network would be a good idea.
    AFAIK all networks charge for the amount of data downloaded. So if you are connected but have not downloaded anything there is nothing to charge but only your network can confirm thisMessage Edited by ricksvill on 01-Jul-2006

    I have been wondering what that Small white square is that appears in top left corner of some Quicktime movies I make? When I export to Flash and upload, or even just upload to Vimeo an H.264 file, there it is, little white square. I put a still frame up online here http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4036/4682390438bb0c16da2eb.jpg

    Solved it by de-installing Adobe Flash Player plug-in and installing it again. All good now

  • My iPad suddenly started displaying "Searching" up in the top left corner and now the ipad reboots itself after about 2-5 minutes.

    My iPad suddenly started displaying "searching" up in the top left corner of the screen and the wifi symbol is next to it and I am connected to the wifi. Prior to last weekend it used to display Verizon and everything was fine. After about 2-5 minutes the iPad suddenly reboots itself. Can anyone assist with this. Thank you

    Have you tried rebooting the iPad?
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Problem with windows shrinking vertically and becoming stuck in upper-left corner of screen.

    Does anyone else have problems with open windows shrinking vertically and becoming "pinned" to the top-left corner of the screen in OSX 10.9? They snap back to the upper-left if I try to move them. I have to Quit or Force Quit the apps and restart them.
    I have a Mac Mini, and I have it hooked up to a TV via HDMI. This only seems to happen when I switch the TV input source *from* the Mac Mini to, for example, DirecTV. When I switch the TV's input source *back* to the Mac Mini HDMI connection, all seems fine; except that some or all of the windows that were on the desktop have shrunken vertically, and they are "stuck" in the upper-left corner of the screen. When I try to move the windows out of the upper-left corner, they snap right back. Very weird.
    Everything else about the desktop and the Mac Mini appears just as I left it. The screen resolution hasn't changed - nothing like that. Although my first thought is perhaps the screen resolution is, briefly, changed to a lower resolution when the Mac Mini detects that its "monitor" connected via HDMI (in this case my TV) doesn't appear to be there because I have switched the input source of the TV. That's just a guess. And even if that's correct, I don't know how to fix it.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    BTW, I don't remember this happening before I upgraded to OSX 10.9 Mavericks. I'm not 100%, but it seems like something I would have remembered. So the culprit could be 10.9, or it could be something else I have installed recently.
    Thank you to anyone that can answer this for me.

    same here:
    Overview: I've seen it occur with the symptoms described by the OP while running Xcode, almost exclusively  after waking my laptop from sleep mode.  It effects non-Apple apps as well, but sometimes differently-- the window(s) open in Eclipse Juno for instance will sometimes disappear entirely such that they are totally inaccessible.  As the OP noted the only way to clear the problem is to force quit the app and restart it (quite a hassle if you have multiple project windows open at once).  I run Juno on Win32 and debian Linux also and have never seen behavior like this, so given that the problem has been observed in Apple branded apps and the fact that it only started after I installed Mavericks I would also posit that it is a Mavericks bug.  That said, I do run a third-party app called WindowMagnet (v. 1.6 by CrowdCafe) that affects the window system, allowing Windows 7 Aero style window snapping; does anyone else having this problem use WindowMagnet?
    Steps to reproduce:  open Xcode, put the machine to sleep, wake the machine -- this bug will appear intermittently
    Expected results: windows should remain the same size/configuration they held prior to sleep
    Actual results: intermittently windows will be 'stuck' in the upper-left corner of the display or entirely invisible
    System info: mid 2012 macbook pro (OSX 10.9.1)

  • Getting the top left corner of a grid cell (math problem)

    I'm making a map editor for a tile based game. The editor makes a grid:
    private function drawGrid():void {
                var grid:Sprite = new Sprite();
                var tileSize:uint= 50;
                for(var i:int=0;i<row;i++)
                    grid.graphics.lineStyle(1,0x000000,0.3);
                    grid.graphics.moveTo(0, i*tileSize);
                    grid.graphics.lineTo(700, i*tileSize);
                for(var j:int=0;j<column;j++)
                    grid.graphics.lineStyle(1,0x000000,0.3);
                    grid.graphics.moveTo(j*tileSize, 0);
                    grid.graphics.lineTo(j*tileSize, 400);
                stage.addChild(grid);
    And when the user clicks anywhere in the screen a movieclip is added to stage. The movieclip (exported for actionscript as Tile) should be placed in the top left corner of the grid cell.
    private function placeTile(mouseX:int, mouseY:int, frame:uint):void {
                var tile:Tile = new Tile();
                tile.gotoAndStop(frame);
                tile.x = PROBLEM HERE
                tile.y = PROBLEM HERE
                stage.addChild(tile);
    How can I do that? I came up with an idea but it didn't work because I have a math problem.  Let's pretend that the user mouse is at position mouseX = 456:
    I could remove the hundreds and use the quotient 56 and check if it is above 50. If it is above 50 I would place it at x = 500 if not I would place it at x = 450. How can I remove the hundreds? Do you have a better idea?

    Thanks. I asked a friend and he told me about the %but I still had a problem. Your expression solved my problem
            private function placeTile(mouseX:int, mouseY:int, frame:uint):void {
                var tile:Tile = new Tile();
                tile.gotoAndStop(frame);
                tile.x = Math.floor(mouseX / tileSize) * tileSize;
                tile.y = Math.floor(mouseY / tileSize) * tileSize;
                stage.addChild(tile);
    That way every tile is centered every 50 pixels
