Flash CS5 will not import mp3 files

With the latest Flash program and the latest Quicktime version, I still can not import mp3 files to my Flash.
No reason is given, it only tells me it can't be done.
elliejo

that's usually an mp3 setting problem. open your mp3 in audio editing software and resave.

What SWF file? What source? How was it generated? SWF generated by Flex/ Flash Server may contain constructs that are incompatible and SWFs that render all their elements dynamically using Flash drawing primitives and use lots of ActionScript may also not work...

• ITunes will not import mp4-files.

For some reason iTune will not import mp4-files into iTunes. The files only contain audio, no video. I know that mp4 is a format that combines the two.
The files were generated in an earlier version of iTunes, like in 2006 or something. They were imported from CD's. I can locate them just fine on my computer and they play without problem in Windows Media Player.
The problem is that when I try to import them the way that iTunes want me to import files its like they don't exist. ITunes locates the folders and sub-folders, but its like there's no content in the folders...
I've tried changing my import settings but nothing seems to help...
Have any of you encountered a similar problem, could you fix it and how?
I've contacted Apple-support but they were unable (incompetent) to assist me...
To me it seems like the only option left is to convert all the files, like 2 GB, from mp4 to mp3.
Thankful for any help I could get solving this ***** of an issue...

iTunes can handle just about any file format that works with QuickTime and will play any file purchased or downloaded from the iTunes Store. If you've got video files that end with a .mov, .m4v, or .mp4 file extension, you can import them to iTunes with ease. However, the video especially the MP4 video must meet the following specifications: it must be encoded as 540 kbit/s (minimum) MPEG-4 video (H.264) with an approximately 128 kbit/s AAC audio track or encoded as 1.5 Mbit/s (minimum) MPEG-4 video (H.264) with a minimum 128 kbit/s AAC audio track. If not, you will fail to import MP4 to iTunes.
Even if your MP4 files meet the above specifications and are added to iTunes successfully, it may still fail to sync to iOS devices. For iPhones, iPads, and video-capable iPods play videos in more specific video formats and codecs.

• Premiere pro will not import .mov files

Premiere pro CS3 running on Vista 64 bit will not import .mov files. After Effects CS4 has the same problem, it says I don't have the correct version of Quick Time installed. I'm using the 64 bit version 7.6.4 for Vista. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Now, what is inside that .MOV "wrapper?" This ARTICLE will give you some background on "wrappers." It is mainly written with .AVI in mind, but translates to most AV file formats, including .MOV.
Now, I use a lot of .MOV files and these are all done in the Animation CODEC. Never an issue for me.
One thing that might aid you is the US$30 upgrade/unlock key to QT Player Pro. It can Export as a bunch of useful formats/CODEC's. Depending on whether your footage is SD, or HD, you can Export most to formats that play perfectly with PrPro.
Good luck,

• Any version of Flash (cs3-cs5) will not publish my file..

Hi all,
this is the first time i encounter this problem.. I had the problem where a file would not open correctly which was also addressed at this forum. But this one is different. this file was created (from what i remember) in Flash 8, then opened/saved in all possible flash versions for updates in time.
While it will open just fine, it will not publish. The publish window with the percentage will open up for a split second, then it will close with no messages whatsoever, no actionscript errors, nothing. F12, the same thing again. No possible settings could solve this. I am willing to send the file for testing of course, have tried to publish using Flash cs4 and Flash cs5. I thought of going back to Flash 8 by opening the file and saving to a previous version but as soon as i open the file in Flash cs3 (while the file has been saved as cs3) it will not open the file with an error message that i cannot remember right now.
So the problem might lie in how Flash cs3 saved the file, but it will open just fine in cs4 and cs5 so the file is not corrupt in any means..
any ideas?
George
p.s. I tried deleting EVERYTHING off the stage and the library and yet it wont publish.. tried copying all frames on another empty file, couldnt publish either...

• PrE 11 will not import .jpg files from organizer

Hi,
I just upgraded from PS & PrE 8 to the lastest version 11. I'm running on a Windows 7 pc. My catalog was successfully converted and new pictures were added. I now want to create a dvd with both pictures and videos. I tried various ways to import .jpg files in PrE but some (most) of my files will not import. I get error messages about the files not being supported (missing codex) or the files being too large.
After reading on the forums and on Adobe help site. It seems opening and resaving the files in the organizer fix this. I try and it worked. As I have many files to import (200+), I wonder if there is a way to do some sort of a batch process for all file.
Secondly, also I read PrE can automatically resize the image file to the project size. How can this be acheive ?
Thanks for your help

Please see my answer to this question. It's essentially the same answer I'd give you.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1129183?tstart=0
You can not create a playable DVD or incorporate video and photos in the same project with full resolution photos on it. Video resolution/TV resolution is only 720x480 (standard resolution) or 1920x1080 (high rez).
Premiere Elements has a governor that limits the size of a photo you can add to a video project (which is probably what you're running into). In fact, you'll get much better results if you use LOWER resolution photos in your video project -- 1000x750 pixels for DVDs and standard resolution video and 2000x1500 for BluRays and high-def video.

• Itunes & numbers will not import excel files

I have tried with several different files and with different types. But numbers will not import any excel files to my ipad. Is there something i am missing?

Have you copied the files from iTunes to the Numbers program? Go to the My Spreadsheets page in Numbers and tap the in box (Open box with in arrow). You will see a couple of option with one of those being "Copy from iTunes". Try that and the file should appear in My Spreadsheets.

• Premiere Pro CC will not import .mov files

Having issues with Premiere Pro CC, I cannot import .MOV files created with my Canon 6D.
If I try to import the files, I get a very generic "File format not supported" error msg.
This is a new install of Premiere CC on a new computer. I was able to import them using Premiere Pro CC on the old computer.
Quicktime will play these files fine on my new computer.
Premiere Pro CS6 will import these files on the new computer.
Premiere Pro CC would open them fine on my old computer.
I'm not even sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
Here are my system details:
OSX 10.9.3
new Mac Pro
3Ghz 8-Core Xeon E5
64 GB RAM
Files are on external G-Tech Thunderbolt drive.

That was I was thinking at first, but if Premiere CS6 (installed on the same computer) imports and plays them, they must be on the system, no?
I really do not want to transcode. I have an existing project that uses the videos and the project on the new system will not import them or re-link to the videos. Really trying to get away from having to re-create the project and re-edit.
Thanks!

• PE11 will not import raw-file (.CR2) from Sony SX50.

PE11 with camera raw 7.2 will not import .CR2 from Sony SX50.
(Camera not supported...)
Sony sx50 is on the list of supported cameras and .CR2 on the list of supported files!

Hi,
ACR 7.3 should aplly to PSE 11 - it is on mine.
If you load the editor, go to the Help menu and see what it displays for About Plug-in -> Camera RAW - see which version is loaded.
There should be an updates option too, towards the bottom of the list - I'm on a PC so it may be different if you are on a MAC

• Adobe LR3 will not import image files. Running on Mac OS 10.6.4

When I try to import images into LR3 I get the errors show on attached screenshots. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm having the same problem and I'm running LR3 on Mac OS 10.6.4 as well.
I put my SD card into my iMac's SD card slot, and tried to import into LR3, but got an error that all of my new files were not imported because they "...could not be read (17)". They can be read just fine by GraphicConverter. I shoot RAW+JPG and LR3 will not import either version (e.g., if I remove the .CR2 files from the SD card, LR3 won't read the .jpgs either). I also put the SD card into a reader (instead of into the iMac's SD card slot) and that didn't work.
I copied the RAWs to the Desktop and tried to import from there, but in that case I get a message that the import operations were not performed because "a file could not be copied to the requested location (34)".
I imported images from this SD card on the 5th, and I haven't formatted it since then. The only thing that's changed that I know of is the Mac OS update, but I would expect that if that were the problem, I wouldn't be able to read these files anywhere (i.e., GraphicConverter).
Any suggestions?
Update: I've now tried another SD card, and a CF card, and LR3 will not import any of the files on them - I get the same "...could not be read (17)" error. I have repaired disk permissions, and I've trashed the Lightroom 3 preferences.
Update #2: I've deleted and re-installed Lightroom 3, and I still cannot import any new images. Lightroom 2 imports just fine. This is becoming infuriating.
Anyone have any suggestions yet?

• I have photoshop elements 10 with all updates but it will not import raw files from my sony rx100

Can anyone help. I have adobe elements 10 with all updates but it will not import .arw (raw) files from my sony rx100

Sony RX2 is supported in ACR7.2 and higher whereas PSE10 can go as high as ACR6.3
Thus you wont be able to open your raw files directly into ACR. You might want to download DNG convertor(version 7.2 or higher) and use it to convert your raw files to a different raw format (.dng) which is supported by all ACR versions.
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.2

• Solution when iMovie or FCE will not import AVCHD files or MTS files

Problem: iMovie or FCE will not import your footage from SDHC camera with files in AVCHD structure, or cannot import .mts or .m2ht files (which you may have copied from AVCHD structure. When mounting camera, you can see the camera as disk but iMovie will not try to import footage. If you point Final Cut Express (FCE) to the file structure, it fails to recognize it as a valid file structure. (I have Canon HF10, but understand that this problem is common on many camera models, maybe camera has been turned off at the wrong moment?)
Cause: Faulty file structure on camera or disk
Soultion: Rebuild AVCHD file structure using an AVCHD editing tool. I found multiAVCHD (multiavchd.deanbg.com), which is not perfect, but will do the job. And it is freeware (possible to donate).
I would like comments about others experience - but at least this worked for me:
- Download and install the software (Yes, you need Windows)
- Set the right parameters: mostly default, I didn´t want any recoding. But tick off to keep the source files!
- Select the AVCHD source (or source .mts or m2ts files) and destination
- Start rebuilding: select output for Sony Playstation 3
- Put the AVCHD file structure on a USB stick
*If using iMovie:*
Start iMovie and plug the USB into the mac (virtual disk (.dmg file) or other media should work fine as well). The USB may contain other files as well, but the root of AVCHD must be named AVCHD.
iMovie recognizes the drive as a camera. All is not 100% well, as the dates for making the footage is lost, and the thumbnails are distorted if seen at all, until clicked on. But then import worked for most clips. Some clips gave an error message, but FCE was able to import these (Log&transfer).
*If using FCE:* Use Log and transfer on this file structure (need not be on external disk)
If you have a better solution - please share! I suppose there are other tools out there which may correct the file structure with less side effects and no errors.
If you go for this solution - remember the author of multiAVCHD, he will surely appreciate a donation. I guess everybody will agree that this is worth at least as much as you paid for your SDHC card.
Why a function to correct faulty file structure is not included in iMovie and FCE is beyond my understanding!
I notice many users salvage their footage by converting the .MTS files, using Handbrake etc. But I believe rebuilding the file structure is faster and with no quality reduction.

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone is still subscribed to this and can help.
I have a Sony HDR-SR10. Yesterday I was able to connect it to my iMac by USB and view all the footage in the import window of iMovie (08).
Last night, to save time sorting at home, I took it to work with me and using the software that came with the camera installed on a Windows PC went through to see which files were rubbish and could be deleted before importing to speed up the transfer on to my mac.
Today, my Mac won't recognise the Camera!?!?!?!
Have I inadvertently reformatted the .MTS files or the camera itself, to windows or something? CanI change it back??
I'm currently creating a new disk image of the camera on my Mac in the vain hope that it will work and be recognised by the Mac as a camera. I can see from the progress box the following text:
Creating Image "Sony Camcorder Media.dmg"
=====Progress Bar=====
Reading (WindowsFAT32 :1)...
Which is why I think I've done something seriously wrong!! .. because it mentions windows!
HELP! HELP! HELP!
I have my entire honeymoon and the first year of my son on this camera and I want to edit with iMovie! Especially as I just paid for iLife 09 upgrade!

• ITunes(Mac) will not import video files

I just bought a new ipod and I was anxious to add some videos I created in iMovie. Unfortunately iTunes will not "import" or "Add to Library" nor can I drag and drop the videos to iTunes. I've tried iPod mp4, QT.dv and QT.mov formats. There is no error message, when dragging and dropping there is a green "+" circle like it is going to work but nothing is added to the movie library. My audio seems to be working properly but movies simply will not import. I have the latest iTunes (7.0.2) Can anyone help? If it makes a difference I am using my iMac G4, not the dual G5 listed on my profile.

The open-source, freeware HandBrake program processes your video or DVD, enabling you to bypass iTunes for this function. After processing, just drag and drop the video file to your computer-connected iPod.

• ITunes 10.6.3 not importing mp3 files but will play the mp3 files

Hi
I recently updated my iTunes to v10.6.3 on my mac. However, I cant seem to add new music to my iTunes library. Dropping and dragging doesnt work even though the '+' curser appears and importing music using command + O doesnt work either. There is no indication of the music being analysed or anything.
However, when I click on an mp3 file it opens and plays in iTunes but will not be added to the library. If I click on the mp3 file again from finder, it will play in iTunes from the last point..
Does anyone have any ideas of wrong? Its frustrating me because I need to sync music to my iPhone and I cant
Thanks

Ye playing the file should automatically add it to iTunes but its not since I updated iTunes.
The music plays and I can see the the time bar in the window on the top of iTunes but the file is not located in the iTunes library or anywhere in iTunes so I cant right click it.
At the moment the mp3 file is on my desktop. Normally dropping and dragging it into iTunes adds it into my 'iTunes' folder in the 'Music' folder.. but this is not happening. I've tried manually adding the file into the 'iTunes' folder using the appropriate folder titles etc.. but iTunes will not detect the new mp3's. Wierd!!
I think I might just have to re-install iTunes
