Flash CS6 can't open play SWF files without importing and destroying them, how can I get around this?
I'm just trying to preview an swf file in flash like I have with all previous versions.
What if my SWF loads external content from an online server?
Not only does the current flash player prohibit such activity, it doesn't even pop open an error anymore saying there was an error connecting to an online source.
Normally, I would simply drag the SWF into Flash and all connections would go through. I could see traces, errors, and experience no issues.
Now I can't even do that. So what then? You have crippled a fundamental use of the program, but THANK GOD we have that deco brush that nobody asked for.
And for the record, the nature of my work benefits from not necessarily allowing the Flash Player to connect to online content. The error it pops up? That's simply another method of error checking that I require. Updating the Flash Player options is not an option.
Why would you even remove this key feature from Flash anyways? It's been there for years ... has the ratio of people importing SWFs (a rather useless gesture in an increasing OOP world) really outweighed the people using Flash as a testing environment that much?

If you have an iBook G4, (PPC) you can't do much.
But if that is a MacBook (intel) you may be able to
upgrade the OS X, if the hardware is up to it...

what OS X and RAM upgrades it could use.
If the computer is not already at OS X 10.6.8,
it can't go online to get or use OS X 10.7.5. So,

That'd be a first step. Or even the Model number
which should be visible on the outer case by hinge.

When I open a RAW file from my Nikon's SD card it automatically goes to PS. I have a new Sony camera; when I open RAW photos from it, it goes to Perfect Effects 8. How can I change it so it goes to Photoshop instead of Perfect Effects 8?
When I have an NEF file on my desktop and click on OPEN WITH, it shows the programs, including Photoshop, that will open it. But, when I click on OPEN WITH for an ARW image, it doesn't show Photoshop. However, your suggestion about dragging the images from the SD card on the desktop into the Photoshop icon provides me with a solution. This is much easier and quicker than the way I was doing it. Thank you very much for your help!!!

Please check http://www.syus.com for an example. There is a Flash movie underneath the main navigation. The main navigation has a jQuery mouse event, and when you mouse over a button in the main navigation, the Flash movie re-starts. I can confirm that this happens not only on Flash swf files, but on standard <object> YouTube embeds.
Ok, I promise this is my last post without your help. I did some more troubleshooting and it only seems to happen when jQuery appends elements to the body that were previously invisible. In other words, I can simply change the css in jQuery from using element.css('display','inline'), but if I try to use something like slideDown or other jQuery tooltip functions that append and/or remove elements or style definitions it causes the "object restart" bug.
It is impossible for any developer to eliminate this bug without changing the actual source of jQuery, which I can't do. My only other option is not to use sophisticated show/hide jQuery elements like drop-down menus and tooltips on the same page as an embedded object, but I don't want to do this since Safari, Chrome and even IE (dear God) users won't have a problem with this. I think this is a major major bug that should be fixed in Firefox 4 as more and more sites will be looking to use the latest jQuery plugins. -
Sure needing help here. I've lost my administrative password on my mac and have to update my adobe flash player. I've researched several, seemingly (to me) complicated ways around this. Does anyone have an easy solution. Really need this back up and running! Thanks in advance.

OK, you need to follow these instructions to remove the old iCloud account:
1. Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your current ID and password. Edit your ID back to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change your password: Apple - My Apple ID
2. Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom of the page. Depending on the iOS that you are running you will see either Delete Account or Sign Out. Click on this to Delete/Sign Out of the old iCloud account. Follow the prompts, and type in your current password when asked. Continue to follow the prompts until the account is signed out/deleted
3. Go back to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with the old email address and your current password, and edit your Apple ID back to the new ID. You may need to verify it again
4. Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign in with the new ID

I was trying to upgrade to the newest version of Firefox, and when I downloaded it, and clicked on run, it took me to a login box, where I had to choose whether to continue as current user or login as Administrator. When I clicked on continue as current user, nothing happened. When I tried logging on as Administrator, I used all the passwords I could think of that I use and nothing was accepted. Id on't recall ever setting up a password for Adminstrator on this computer, so I don't know what to do. I even deleted the older version of Firefox thinking that might help, but it didn't work either, and now I don't even have that! Help!
What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. -

vincentIn iTunes, select iTunes Store, then under "MUSIC QUICK LINKS" on the right hand side of the screen click on Account. Sign in using your Apple ID, if prompted to do so, and you should see a Deauthorize All button:
Click on this, and then re-authorize any computers than you're currently using with iTunes and your Apple ID. See Deauthorize your computer using iTunes - Apple Support for more details. Downloaded latest Safari update that informed me that older versions of Adobe Flash Player were being disabled and then advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before. (Instead of opening, it comes up as a page of code).

Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All
Now select the Storage tab.
Click Delete All
Relaunch Safari to test.

I need to install iWork 09 so I can open the many pages document files that will NOT open under the new pages 5. Mavericks will not accept an install from my iWork's 09 CD. How do I get around this?
Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.

When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.
