Flash CS6/JSFL: Relative fileURI's
Hi,
Back in Flash CS5 and earlier I could use relative paths in fileURI's passed to fl.OpenDocument(). E.g fl.openDocument( 'file:///myfile.fla' ); would locate myfile.fla in the same folder that the current script resides.
However, when I do this in Flash CS6 I get an error saying "Cannot find file myfile.fla". Using absolute paths works, but that doens't solve the problem...
Any clues, anyone?

It seems broken starting with CS5.5.
(I'm on Windows).
The problem seems resulting from current directory (folder) not being set when you open a script or FLA. So, relative paths still work but they are always relative to the root of C drive (in our tests) which of course defeats its purpose.

The animation need to be supported on HTML 5 devices. When I am publishing the below message appear on the Output window and cannot create the file:

There are not images, only text and graphics mainly drew on Flash and just a few imported from Illustrator, and I used classic Tween and a few masks. No idea what is “Exporter.jsfl” file stand for.
Is there anyone can help me with this issue?

I follow your instructions and found the file, but what are you suggesting to do with the file, delete it? And then rename the file to Toolkit_for_createJS.zxp and loaded it again on adobe extension manager?

Ios7 Air 3.9 Flash cs6 clock shown in app
Dear developers, I recently updated my app for ioS 7 using Air 3.9 (latest version) and Flash cs6. I discovered that the status bar is displayed in my app in landscape mode auto orientation. My game does not use full screen mode (this box is not checked in publish settings). I did not test my app ad hoc before uploading it and only have myself to blame......... but the app is now live in ITunes and I have to fix it immediately. I only came across the post in this forum related to this problem after I had already uploaded the game to itunes connect and was hoping it would not be affected.
The good thing is that my app is mostly black in that area and you cannot see all of the status bar, but there are times when the screen changes and then you see battery life and the current time. You also see a strange small yellow line near the battery indicator.
Should I revert back to Air 3.7? The reason why I went to 3.9 was to include the new icons but I never ended up doing so and the app still passed through Apple's screening process. Before updating my app, my app did not have any issues with ioS 7.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as the update is not pleasing to the eye.

You will have to work around it . The end of the thread gives some insight how. Or possibly you can use AIR 3.8 -

I am an absolute beginner with Adobe Flash CS6. Managed to work with it so far but I would really need to use the Korean Font "Gulim" witihin the software.
Couldn't find anything to this topic neither in the community nor on the internet, would be glad if s.o. could help me!

The issue is related to the Windows Font Parsers. Maybe TLF uses it's own. -

Why is Adobe Flash CS6 crashing sporadically when resizing MC's or shapes?
It doesn't happen all the time but when Flash crashes, it happens when i'm resizing a symbol or a shape.
I'm using Flash CS6 v 12.0.0.481
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.1 (12B19)

Adobe Flash CS6 crashes sporadically for me (numerous times per day), and it's almost always when I am editing a vector shape control point using the subselection tool. If I select a control point and nudge it with the keyboard arrow keys, I haven't encountered a problem. But if I select a control point, then click and drag it to reposition it, I often get the spinning wheel followed by a crash. Is this really a bug or a problem related to my own hardware/software configuration?

Flash CS6 professional iOS Player Settings will not open.
Please Help.
I am unable to open the Player Settings pane for iOS.
I can get to the Player Settings for Android and everything else, but if I try to open player settings for iOS, at first nothing happens and then after a while Flash IDE crashes.
It was working at one point yesterday. I was resolving an issue I had related to provisioning profiles. And then all of a sudden I am unable to get to this panel.
I have run uninstall, and CC cleaner and removed all things Adobe from my machine and did a fresh reinstall of Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium.
I started a brand new project and still, no Player Settings pane for iOS.

BUG: Unable to Import MP3 Files in Flash CS6
I am unable to import mp3 files of any kind in Flash CS6. Tried import to stage, import to library, Drag and Drop... no dice. Receiving a generic error message. Tried closing out and restarting,etc. - still not working.

The "update" in the library would not update the content but the drag and drop worked fine.
Note: The path in the update dialog shows a relative path and after the drag and drop it shows an absolute path to the file
I also had an issue with the audio being changed from stream to event. -
Issues with Creative Cloud/ Flash CS6
Hello, I've recently (Friday, March 15, 2013) restarted my subscription to Creative Cloud for Flash Pro CS6, but I haven't been able to open the application.
However, I've contacted tech support (by phone and chat), but I still couldn't get any luck.
What I've already tried (numerous times), but failed:
Uninstalling and reinstalling Flash though the app manager
Opening it through creative.adobe.com (still had the option for to "Try" it only)
Updating Flash CS6
Rebooting my PC
Rebooting internet connection
Opening Flash on another PC (still no luck)
No matter what I tried, it kept taking me to the page requesting a serial code, when I'm supposed to have a subscription. I've had previous subscriptions to Creative Cloud and never had this problem until now. What's really worse is, that the payment has already been posted and taken out of my card and yet I can't use what I paid for. It's an extremely unsavory feeling to pay $30.00 for something you can't even use. Sorry to sound blunt, but I could really use some help (or a refund) to resolve this issue. I'd also appreciate it if you could let me know if you're having a similar issue and/or know of a workaround to the problem!

CrystalI've tried your suggestion, but unfortunately, I couldn't even get past the third step because I still wasn't able to open Flash, even when I did follow the first two steps. Just a thought: I have Photoshop Elements 9 installed, but I know that it's not part of CS, but could it possibly be something with PSE 9 interfering with the app manager? Though, I have had PSE 9, a trial of Illustrator CS5, and a subscription to CC for Flash CS6 installed on my computer once before, I had no problem whatsoever. But now I just have PSE 9 and (Flash CS6). I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the issue I'm having, but I just wanted to make sure.

I had downloaded the Toolkit CreateJS from here: http://www.adobe.com/go/downloadcreatejs and here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/createjs/articles/using-flash-pro-toolkit- createjs.html. When I attempted to install the extension using Adobe Extension Manager, the installation files did not have the required .zxp or .mxp files. It only had a file with a .mxi extension. Please advise. For Installing a developer Machine just install Oracle Developer suite; for testing your forms you use OC4J ("start OC4J instance" in start menu), and you can run your forms in web; no need for a aditional webserver (don't believe there's an OC4J connector for IIS available; and if so I wouldn't use it either ;-))
For Installing a server for "productional" use install Oracle Application Server (available on otn) which comes with an Apache as webserver and all the other needful things for runnung forms on the web.
For configuring both of them just take a look at the documentations on http://otn.oracle.com

How can I use a file in flash cs6 that I made in flash cs5.5 air for android
I have made an app in in air for android in flash cs5.5 air for android, and I want to edit it in cs6 and play it in cs6.
But if I put Ctrl+Enter I got an error: createWin process failed with error 2: system couldn't find the file. I think the problem is that I'am using air for android 2.6 version in flash cs5.5 and version 3.2 in flash cs6. I have searched the web and found out that you can add older air versions using the sdk manager and I have tried it but first I get the error that the version of the sdk I am trying to install is not valid and after some files that I added to the sdk folder I get this error:Only SDK higher than version 3.4.2540 may be added.
I there a possible way to update the air for android for an fla or apk? Or how can I let my originally file work fine in flash cs6??system couldn't find the file
If you can´t get a more specific hint why your project can´t compile then I can think of some reasons theis error might occur
1.You had files included besides the swf, like videos, audio files, xml files, that are not present in the place air expects them to be
2.somewhere in your createWin functions there is a class import needed that isn`t present in 3.2 anymore, for example some classes or functions from classes that were valid in 2.6 are not any more in 3.2
3. to achieve better eror logging, allow for debugging in the publishing options and see what specific lines in your code throw the error
4.any air app needs a cert file, this needs to be created once, if you migrated to e new system it might be you never created that file which air expects to even begin the compiling process

How do I move Flash CS6 from an old computer to a new one?
I installed CC and CS6 on my computer when it was first introduced years ago. Now I need to upgrade to a new computer. The CC on the new computer does not show Flash CS6 support. I require AS2 since I have created many apps with it for my customers and need to continue to support them. I do not intend to switch to AS3 because I have too many old apps to change over.
How do I install Flash CS6 on my new computer so I can remove it from my old one and get rid of it?

Sign in with your Adobe ID on the page https://creative.adobe.com/products/flash. You can then toggle the version from CC to CS6 and click the blue Download button. This will make the Creative Cloud app download and install the CS6 version. -
How can I see the same configuration make in Flash CS6, in Flash CC?
In Flash CS6, when making the configuration to create a new flash file, I would put AS2 and Flash Player 9. I would review those configurations in the publish settings panel. If I open that same file (made in CS6) using the Flash CC, the publish settings display from 10.3 and AS3. Is there a way to check those configurations that I had on CS6, using Flash CC? I have a production of 200 banners made in CS6 but have now installed Flash CC. I would like to know how can I verify from Flash CC that all banners are made in Flash Player 9 and AS2.

Any ideas for reducing lag in my animation (flash cs6)?
I'm creating something for a local college in Flash CS6 and it lags in a couple spots (in the very beginning after clicking enter and after clicking on a location on the map) and it would obviously be really nice to get rid of that lag. The only thing i know to try in order to help with lag is to break down all grouped artwork and to convert tweens into frame by frame. I've done this and it hasn't changed anything so I was hoping someone else would have another idea. Ive uploaded the swf and flash file to dropbox. What is in the dropbox is not the final product I need to add the videos thats are going to be in it (they pop up once you press the play button) but other then the videos that is as complicated as the file is going to get. This lag started happening from the get go of working on this project once I had the barebones of the menu system figured out. It hasn't gotten any worse since then even after all the things I've added.

Optimization Techniques
Unfortunately, I know of no completely satisfactory way to organize this information. In what follows, I discuss memory management first with sub-topics listed in alphabetical order. Then I discuss CPU/GPU management with sub-topics listed in alphabetical order.
That may seem logical but there are, at least, two problems with that organization.
I do not believe it is the most helpful way to organize this information.
Memory management affects CPU/GPU usage, so everything in the Memory Management section could also be listed in the CPU/GPU section.
Anyway, I am going to also list the information two other ways, from easiest to hardest to implement and from greatest to least benefit.
Both of those later listings are subjective and are dependent on developer experience and capabilities, as well as, the test situation and test environment. I very much doubt there would be a consensus on ordering of these lists. Nevertheless, I think they still are worthwhile.
Easiest to Hardest to Implement
Do not use Filters.
Always use reverse for-loops and avoid do-loops and avoid while-loops.
Explicitly stop Timers to ready them for gc (garbage collection).
Use weak event listeners and remove listeners.
Strictly type variables whenever possible.
Explicitly disable mouse interactivity when mouse interactivity not needed.
Replace dispatchEvents with callback functions whenever possible.
Stop Sounds to enable Sounds and SoundChannels to be gc'd.
Use the most basic DisplayObject needed.
Always use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with air apps (i.e., mobile devices).

Flash CS6 and CC on the same computer?
Can I run Flash CS6 and CC on the same computer? I need inverse kinematics now only in CS6 but my computer in from my university and will shortly be converted over to FlashCC but I need many of the dropped old feratures. I'm seriously in trouble as I have a large animation I have been working onwith my students for months and very soon the workflow will come to a grinding stop. It's already bad as the lab computers have already moved over to CC. My laptop is now my only worrking option along with the students who have a copy of CS6. The ones who moved over to CC can no longer work on the project. Thanks Adobe!

I click on the color picker and where I have seen the normal #0000ff blue color on my windows computer, this mac Mountain lion version shows a purple-ish color. Oddly, If I enter the hex # into the color picker, and use it as a fill, the correct color displays on the stage but when i use the eyedropper on that color, it shows it as the purple color again on the toolbar.
I've seen a similar thing like this happen when using adobe photoshop. However, the usual solution is to just make the managed color profile set to monitor RGB. The only downside with Flash is there is no preference to set that. The color palette in Adobe Photoshop displays as it should with the correct blue.
I should also note that I'm using a Samsung 941bw monitor with my mac mini which could also be part of the problem.
I figured i'd make this post anyway just in case it's the OS & Adobe Flash CS6 and not the monitor.
I've included a screenshot as well that shows that i've chosen the purple color and then made a rectangle shape on the stage and it comes out blue.
