Flash & Dreamweaver
I don't know if this can be done but we want to create a home
page in flash. Once it is uploaded, we want the flash home page to
automatically change to a HTML page created in dreamweaver. The
rest of the site will be html. Dreamweaver cs3 does't have a
timeline to do this does it?
Is there any way this can be done? Any help will be
appreciated

Bad idea. Why?

it?
Not any more, but you would do this in Flash anyhow.

Flash & Dreamweaver in Studio 8 - Bundled Together or Individual Disks?
Is Studio 8 complied of 3 different disks, the latest version
of Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks or is each version of that
program bundled together on one disk? What's the real different
between Studio 8 and buying all 3 programs separately aside from
the price advantage?rmiman,

You get two disks: A) Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks 8, Flash 8,
Flash 8
Video Encoder, Contribute 3, and FlashPaper 2; B) HomeSite+
5.5, ColdFusion
MX 7.0 Developer Edition, and Fireworks Tutorial Assets.

After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch. From the Windows icon pane, I click on the program, it opens the Sign In Required pane, I sign in, it opens the Thank You pane and reverts back to Sign In pane or never opens the program.
Acrobat also keeps giving me a popup to sign in, each time I look at a .pdf file.
I have tried uninstalling Acrobat and then redownloading. It didn't work.

I created a wonderful photo gallery using Flash CS3 to
integrate into my website that I am creating in Dreamweaver CS3.
I've been a good doobie and relied on code instead of design mode
in Dreamweaver. My problem is that the photo gallery I created in
Flash works fine when testing the .swf file. It contains two
UILoaders, one for the photograph and one for a graphic title for
the photograph. I am using "arrays" for the actionscript for both
UILoaders and for a dynamic text item within the Flash file. When I
bring the final .swf into Dreamweaver, the only thing that's
functional is the dynamic text. The images do not load when
executing the actionscript. I am a total newbie with this and have
been very successful with everything I've done up to this point,
but now I'm scratching my head. I've got to be missing something
and hope that someone can shine a light on my problem.Although I have completely no idea whats happening, I usually
find its useful to publish to HTML from Flash to test. Have you
tried that?
You might also want to change your publish settings to detect
flash version and then publish to HTML so you can copy over the
detection code....?
See if that helps any otherwise - sorry! -
Flash --- Dreamweaver (.asp)
I trying an old version of Flash and trying to determin if it
will be worth it to use and I've run into a problem that I don't
understand.
We have a site made with .asp. I mad a flash file and went
through the publishing with no problem, but here is where my
problem started.
I have the files saved with all of our other site's files and
am try to use a .swf flash file. When I put it in and play it in
Dreamweaver, it looks fine. But when I load the page in and try and
open the page with Explorer, no flash file appears and it looks
like there isn't anything there.
I then went to a html file that we have and tried using it in
that page and it worked fine. I have no idea why I'm having this
problem, but could someone please explain why this is happening?
Also, is there a way to convert an .asp file to a .html file?
Thank YouI believe that you can "convert" an ASP page to HTML simply
by changing the
name. The web server will no longer see that as an ASP page.
However, any
ASP code will not work and any ASP code within the page will
be interpreted
as HTML and may cause errors. -
Flash, Dreamweaver, or Fireworks for web gallery
I'm wanting to make a nice web gallery. I do not want to use
the "create web gallery" feature found in Photoshop or Fireworks
because I want to be able to customize my design more than what's
offered in those templates.
I'm at a loss as to what Fireworks is really used for in the
first place, but from digging around online it seems like maybe
it'd be helpful for making a web gallery (or maybe just the initial
stage of figuring out the design?)
What is the best software for creating a custom gallery? I'm
assuming Flash, but then I thought maybe I could pull it off with
Dreamweaver?
I like how the images zoom in and fade out in these
templates:
http://www.entheosweb.com/photoshop_templates/flash_photo_gallery.asp
These all had to be made with Flash right? I don't want to
pay for a template - again because I want to have custom design of
my own. But I haven't a clue how to do this all, so I'm also
wondering what I need to study up in? Flash alone? ActionScript
3.0?
Thanks for any tips to lead me in the right direction.Please refer to
your other post for replies. -
Local videos not playing in Flash/Dreamweaver Air app
Hi there. I am having trouble playing local video from an Air app created from Dreamweaver. I have found many similar [posts, but most are about Flex and so on. I need some help getting this working form Flash and Dreamweaver.
What I did wat create a jQuery site that uses Flash to play videos. It will be packaged as a desktop Air app using the Dreamweaver Air plugin.
From advice that I got here (http://soenkerohde.com/2008/06/playing-local-files-with-air/)
I started a new Air Project in Flash as suggested. Using an Air flash app makes more sence I guess, but I still need to imbed it into an HTML framework.
Here is the code I am using:
import flash.filesystem.File;
var myVideo:Video = new Video(stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight);
addChild(myVideo);
var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);
var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
var client:Object = new Object();
client.onMetaData = function(metadata:Object):void {
trace(metadata.duration);
ns.client = client;
myVideo.attachNetStream(ns);
var f:File = new File("Special_Assignment_Title.flv");
ns.play(f.url);
When I run this I get the following error:
<blockquote cite="">ArgumentError: Error #2004: One of the parameters is invalid.
at Error$/throwError()
at flash.filesystem::File/set nativePath()
at flash.filesystem::File()
at videoPlayer_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()[videoPlayer_fla.MainTimeline::frame1:17]</blockquo te>
Any suggestions on how to fix my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciatedInstead of using the File object, try URLRequest instead:
var urlReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Special_Assignment_Title.flv");
ns.play(urlReq.url);

I posted this in the DW section as well.
On the home page of my site I have a flash file inserted
below a navigation bar. Every 4 seconds or so, the image swipes
over to show a new image. The problem is that when I'm using the
navigation bar above it (created in Fireworks and inserted as FW
html) the dropdown items disappear when the "swipe" action occurs.
It actual looks like it gets covered up by the moving image. It
does this in both Firefox and IE (5.2 for Mac) but it works just
fine in Safari.
Can anyone help?Would saying "never use flash buttons" be an acceptable
response to this
question?
If not, then blast on. If so, then I commend you for your
wisdom and
adaptability. Flash buttons are a very poor choice for a
website.

Thinking of buying the touchsmart tm2-1010ea would this run photoshop, flash and dreamweaver ok?
What are it's specifications ? Specifically the speed of the processor and the rpm's of the hard drive. How much ram does it have ?
If the laptop is 64 bit, it should have at least 4 GB of ram. The hard drive RPM should be 7200, 5400 RPM will work, but that's a bit slow. Processor should be at least duel core at not less then 2.00 Ghz.
There are no specs. listed on the site so you will have to look them up your self. -
Security issue with Flash/Dreamweaver
I am trying to insert a .swf file into dreamweaver. When I insert the movie I get this pop-up when running the LIVE function, and also in test browser environment and files uploaded to the server...
I have gone to security panel and allowed access by typing in the file name for the express install file, yet I get the same results. I have also made sure I am running all updated versions of flash player.
Can anyone offer me any advice?
Thanks,
ChrisIt's a security warning to protect your hard drive from possible malware. This only happens when you preview locally. It won't happen when you upload it to your server.
That said, most people have given up on Flash for a variety of reasons.
Security,
Bandwidth,
Flash drains the battery life out of mobile devices.
Flash isn't supported by iPhones, iPads, iTouch, Androids and other mobile brands...
The list of Flash supporting devices is shrinking daily.

.ve seen this posted earlier with no clear answer. I am
taking videos converting them in Flash Pro....publishing them in
swf and html....when I clck on the files outside of DW8 they play
fine, when I put them on my page in DW8, and press the play
function all I get is a white box. Just to experiment I uploaded
them to my server....I get the white box, but flash is present
(right click and I get flash settings etc box)
But again it wont play in dreamweaver even before uploading.
I did make an animation however...followed the same steps and it
works, so I am at a lossWould saying "never use flash buttons" be an acceptable

Photoshop/flash/dreamweaver website!! Help!
Ive been trying an alternative for building webpages, ive
started to do one in photoshop. i have the design and everything
sorted and i have sliced the image and saved as html and the image
slices. i open it all up in dreamweaver and make some of the images
background because i want to add a flash logo to this. but even
when i delete some slices and re-add them as the background i
cannot add text or flash anywhere. well i can and it appears on my
work but when i preview it theres nothing there except the
photoshop design.
i dont understand wot is going on and what i am doing wrong,
i am a trainee web designer so im probably making a easy mistake
but someone help plz as soon as possible!!
thanks
jadeChris has been kind enough to allow me to use a copy of
SiteGrinder. I have
found it to be quite good at the pages it generates, and
while I wouldn't
use it for my own sites, if you are interested in just
building pages
without learning HTML and CSS, you can get by with something
like this.
And, yes, it does produce MUCH better markup than IR or
FW....

Color variation introduced somewhere between AfterEffects-Quicktime-Flash-Dreamweaver
http://www.scbadasscoffee.com
Please note the subtle difference between the background
color of the web page (CD9933) and the background of the Flash
animation.
I created the original in AE Pro...took it into
Quicktime...exported it to a smaller file size MOV file...then
sucked it into FLASH and saved it as a movie...which you see on the
link above.
Can anyone give me a hint as to where the color variation was
introduced?
Thanks, it isn't obvious to me (a beginner)
--billI have more results after further testing.
Running OS X 10.8.4
AE 10.5.0.253
K5000 GPU
My AE project is setup as a 16bpc, HDTV (rec709), Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma, Match Legacy After Effects QuickTime Gamma Adjustments, Compensate for Scene-referred Profiles.
I import a FCP 7 generated QT ProRes4444 file. The file is rendered as YUV Full Precision with Super-Whites. In an attempt to round trip the file, I rendered the singular file with no effects back out as a ProRes4444 file with rec709, sRGB or Preserve RGB color profiles. Once imported back into AE, each of these 3 files matches the original identically. Quite well actually, even when I turn on difference mode and crank the gamma, they hold up really well. Nothing perceptually different here.
NOW, when I render out as DPX, EXR or TIFF, I get a completely different result. EACH image sequence imports identically, so DPX matches EXR matches TIFF. BUT they are all identically different than the original. Once again there is a color shift. NOT a gamma shift, a HUE shift.
I am rendering each file as a rec709 and importing as a rec709.
What gives?
Here is the kicker, when I switch to my windows box (WIN7 SP1), then open my AEP file. The colors match identically across all files & formats!!! I literally set my OS X AE comp to solo 2 layers on difference mode. There is a clear difference. When I open the same file within WIN7, pure BLACK. NO DIFFERENCE. Holy crap this is alarming. Side note, still have the hue shift within NUKE across platforms but it is consistent.
WIN7 64bit SP1
AE 10.5.0.253
GTX680 GPU
I am not going to blame Adobe, since I am almost certain this is an APPLE issue. I would like to ask the Adobe AE Team, what value is AE reading that Nuke is not? Is there different QT importers?
Thanks,
Matt -
Flash & Dreamweaver gallery problem
Hey guys,
I am helping out a friend that I can't let down and I am afraid I may of bitten off more then I can chew.
He wanted me to put up all his fashion shots on a webpage and it is proven harder to combine the flash gallery with html then I thought.
Take a look at : http://williamvintage.atwebpages.com/site/
I want to center the gallery in the middle and have it so that it looks like one white square, which will be centred in the middle of the page.
I sliced up the white background and deleted the middle part thinking it would work, but it has not. I tried placing the gallery on top of the white background with a table, but that didn't work and because the flash gallery enlarges the pictures when clicked it needs more room then the size of the galley it's self.
I used this Gallery and modified the code to suit my needs. I have included the link if that helps : http://www.freeflashcomponents.net/flash-galleries-slideshows/html-xml-image-grid-as2.html
I have to have this completed and uploaded by this monday so if you could help me out asap that would be great.
Cheers.
Dale.You need to specify the correct path/name for the swf file...
fl_Loader_2.load(new URLRequest("player_black"));
does not do that. As a minimum it should have an ".swf" at the end of the file name, as in "player_back.swf".
Any time you get error messages, you should include both the complete error messages and the relevant code in your initial posting. It can help get to solving think more readily. -
