Flash Drive Plugin constantly crashes, nothing you suggested works to stop this from happening, what should I do? There is also a game that pops up
I am suddenly having all kinds of issues with the Flash plug in crashing constantly and a game that doesn't show what it is, or let you play pops up and controls the window. You have to hit control alt a to quit the game or escape which either way you go the results are a crash and firefox locks up. I changed my default browser and the same thing happened. Frustrated, a little angry, and a lot fed up. What can I do to correct this problem and how do I find out what the game is so I can delete it? HELP! Please.
Whilst I usually run Beta Versions of Firefox I have had this problem occurring for several versions now. I have been able to resolve all crashing issues 100% SO FAR by following Adobe's "Flash Player Help /
Uninstall Flash Player | Windows" on website:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
for a total un-install of flash followed by an installation of the new Flash version (FOR ME usually needed for most updates recently).
However, It is getting tedious doing all these manual procedures each time Adobe update its Flash Plug-in, '''and it should not be necessary'''.
To be honest, as this Adobe recommended solution has always worked for me, so far, I feel this is an Adobe issue, rather than a Firefox one, otherwise things would not be resolved. (having said that, Flash does seem more likely to crash on Firefox than Internet Explorer on MY system, however)
Adobe offers several installation files on its download page and IMHO I feel it should offer an update version (for users who experience Flash crashes) that will AUTOMATICALLY download the Flash un-installer, run its, clean out the 4 folders (it says should be cleared) and then download the new Flash plug-in version and install it..
Adobe clearly understands some/many users have crashing issues for some/many Firefox updates who need to follow their "clean" installation procedures (assuming f they know about them and are capable).
Why does Adobe not offer "an all in one"un-install/ install ".exe" to do all these procedures automatically (easy for them and would make our lives easier (especially for non PC savvy users).
Regards to all.

I have all my music on my external hard drive when I try to add it to iTunes it is automatically added to my MacBook Pro's hard drive. How do I stop this from happening? I just want the music to stay on the external hard drive. Thanks!
This is true of course, but doesn't cover the situation where some files are in the iTunes Media folder and others are on an external drive. In my case I keep my music in the Media folder and all my films on an external drive (there are too many to have on the internal drive). In iTunes 11, and before, it was easy to add those external files by holding down the alt/opt key while dragging to the sidebar. In iTunes 12 this is no longer possible. There are several workarounds: use TuneSpan to move the file after it's been added; delete the file from the Media folder and empty the trash then use iTunes Get Info which will report the file is missing and allow you to locate it; constantly switch the Add to iTunes toggle on and off as required. All of these require a lot more work than just holding down the alt/opt key while adding.
It constantly gets harder. -
I just downloaded the latest version of firefox (5.0). Can I delete all the older versions that are still on my drive?
When I call up some web sites sometimes the web site comes up 3 or 4 times...how do I stop this from happening? For example if I click on a link the exact same link comes up 3 or 4 times and I have to manually delete all of them but one.Do you organise your email into separate folders, or do you just let it accumulate in the Inbox?
I would strongly advise you not to let it sit in the Inbox.
When you see this happening, try right-click on the affected folder, select '''Properties''' then '''Repair Folder'''.
Large folders (actually, a folder in Thunderbird is stored as a file, so it is sensitive to file size limits set by the underlying file system) can be problematic. This is one reason not to let messages collect in one folder. I use Thunderbird's Archive folders so that accumulated mails over several years can happily coexist because they are effectively stored in many small folders. No single mail store folder then exceeds the 2GB or 4GB sizes that have been known to stress the OS. I appreciate that current builds of Thunderbird and a modern 64-bit OS should be able to cope, but practically I find it slows down when given huge files, so I err towards a pragmatic solution; a large number of not very big files.
Archives are searchable, and a Saved Search folder can give you a virtual composite folder allowing access to the entire Archive. -
hello, I'm using the same apple id on my Ipad and Iphone, and anything i do and my ipad reflects on my iphone. if i download an app on my iphone it also downloads on my ipad. Can i stop this from happening. i need help. thank you.
Yes, under the Settings for the store, you can turn off the auto download for purchases, that way if you purchase an app on another device it will not automatically download on that device. You would need to do this on both your iPad and iPhone.

My macbook pro says Shockwave Flash plug-in has crashed pretty much every day. I have to shut the computer down and restart to fix it. Is there any way I can keep this from happening?
Download the latest version from here ONLY:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
also, make certain your Mac OS X software is completely up-to-date. There is a Trojan Horse that pretended to be a Flash update, and installed Flash with malware included. The latest security updates removes the malware and all older versions. -
iTunes Match deleted songs from my hard drive. How can I prevent this from happening if I try it again?
iTunes Match can in no way be considered a backup service, this is due to the inexact nature of the 'matching process' (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112, for more detail).
Loss of files from a Disk is certainly possible through media failure. However, the extent of iTunes Match capacity is solely to influence the content of the cloud. Perhaps there was a coincident, or pre-existing, failure of the disk which was simply exposed by the iTunes Match interrogation of the disk content.
There are certainly other services which depending upon your goal may work well. For example, Google Play with gBeats IOS App works very well. My use of Match is to synchronise across several computers and to drive Apple TV and an IOS device - other IOS devices still use sync for specific music and are complimented by gBeats for access to the full library when local mobile signal strength is high.
The strong advice to always start with a secure backup remains but if your primary concern is iTunes Match interfering with physical disk content you can relax - it simply does not have this ability. (Apology to Sherlock, further investigation required). -

These are actually all crashes in RealDownloader/Real Player Download and Record plugin. You might just want to uninstall it.

This is the generic "some communication between Flash and Firefox got lost" crash signature.
We're actively working with Mozilla to address these, but that effort is ongoing and we expect to see incremental improvement over the coming months:
bp-ad0f30aa-330b-40f1-a834-b51142150418
bp-d7747b12-9132-4ab4-a754-fecfe2150417
The rest were taking a long time to load, so I got bored. It looks you'll see a huge improvement by getting rid of the RealDownloader plugin though. It probably attempts to hook into Flash Player unsuccessfully. We don't have an engineering relationship with them, but they try to scrape Flash video streams as a value-add for their product. -

This popup happens for no apparent reason. I'll just be reading an article or checking my e-mail and it pops up all the time
Use '''Tools -> Options -> Advanced | General | Accessibility <br />''' Uncheck [x] warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page
* see [[Options window - Advanced panel]]
If that works, perhaps you will mark the problem as solved, if not post back with what problems remain; I may have misunderstood the exact problem. -
Can anyone please help? Every time I start up my imac OSX 10.6 desktop my Aperture 3 programme opens up without being requested. Is it possible to stop this happening and only allow Aperture to open by using the desktop icon? Thank you for any assistance anyone may be able to give.
Best regards, John.because there is absolutely no mention in my System Preferences of either Users & Groups nor Start Up Items.
John,
William's solution was much easier - just for completeness sake: The preferences panes to edit your startup items moved between the Mac OS X updates: I forgot that the "Users&Groups" preference pane used to be called "Users" in Mac OS X 10.6; it is the panel that you use to create new User accounts; and earlier systems had a separate preferences panel "Login" to enable and to disable the applications that are launched at login. Both are now combined in "Users&Groups". Sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase with the wrong Preferences panel.
Regards

You have two choices: 1. uninstall Flash; 2. Install Flash 10.3.181 and hope for the best. -
I want to update to the latest iOS from version 4.35 but I only get an server not available message regardless of following the advice on Apple. Any suggestions?
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer and try again/later.

I have to close this "other page" before I can use Firefox
It's annoying and is preventing me from using Firefox as my regular browser which I would prefer to do.
Also any scans I've made with virus or hidden ads has come up negative.
I'm at a loss to fix this.
Can you help?Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficacy.<br />'''''(Not all programs detect the same Malware, so you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)''''' <br />These programs are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have.<br />
''Note: If your Malware infection is bad enough and you are mis-directed to URL's other than what is posted, you may have to use a different PC to download these programs and use a USB stick to transfer them to the afflicted PC.''

I don't recall installing that!'''Bookmarks'''<br />

'''Video'''<br />
It depends on the type of video file. If they are .flv files (like youtube.com), you need to install Flash for Firefox; you do not have it installed for Firefox. There are 2 versions of Flash, one for IE only (ActiveX version) and one for most other browsers including Firefox (Plugin version). You must update each one individually.
#'''using Firefox''' download and save Flash from this link (save to your Desktop; easier for you to find): get.adobe.com/flashplayer
#when the download is finished, close Firefox (click Firefox button > Exit '''''OR''''' File > Exit, if using the Menu Bar)
#click or double-click the file you just downloaded
#on the left side of the install window, put a check mark in the box next to "I have read and agree"
#click on the Install button on the lower right of the install window; it will light up after you put the check mark in the previous step
#let the installation complete; it is quick
#'''using Firefox''' test your installation of Flash here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

The New Tab button automatically opens whatever site I have saved to the clipboard.
If I copy a site's URL, then click the plus sign button to open a new tab, Firefox will automatically open that site's URL. This seems like intended behavior, but it can be annoying at times. Is there an About:Config setting to disable this?
