Flash duplicating library items on save - urgent help!

Hi All,
I am very new to flash and wasn't sure if this was normal function or not (whichever way its very frustrating!)
I am using Windows vista 64 bit and Flash CS5
I am creating a flash animation for a web banner for work that is very simple, first layer some text moves across, next 3 layers a single image appears and disappears etc...
However every now and then when I save the file, it saves then when I look at my library items instead of have a couple of png's and their respective symbols (all named appropriately) there is like more then double - usually a whol bunch of images with no name - but duplicates of the images already there and abunch of symbols that area lso duplicates my originals but all named things like "symbol 13" etc..
I decided to start saving as a new file each time - and each time the file gets bigger - went from 444kb to 13.8mb last check!and each time I delete the addition library items and each time I save there are more again, last time i went from 17 items to 69, the time before that i Had about 14 items and it went up to 43 on save.
I was supposed to have this flash finished by tomorrow but a 15 odd mb file is no good to use on the company website!

Hi Kglad,
I tried what you said but nothing actually changed in terms of full screen.
The 3rd video now plays, yet if I try full screening video 1 and 2 they just show video 3, even if video 3 isn't playing.
Plus, the sound for video 3 still doesn't play.
I tried different settings in the HTML and flash tab, changing dimensions, changing mono to stero and putting the sound at 48khz etc, nothing though.

Flash CS5 - Library item contents disappear

I have a large library that I am organizing of vector only files, some imported from Illustrator.
When I re-name some of the items other Movieclip items in the library lose their contents and all that is left is an empty symbol.
I repeated this several times and tried to find workarounds. Like duplicating the symbol. This worked for the one item but then it deleted another symbols contents.

Another test.
The original symbol name is:
utility_industrial_crate_metal_001_3x3
I rename it to :
containers_industrial_crate_metal_001_3x3
The new symbol, containers_industrial_crate_metal_001_3x3, seems fine.
Symbol utility_industrial_scaffolding_crates_001_8x3 where the symbol was nested shows blank a symbol. I right click on the blank symbol to swap symbol and the old symbol name is still visible in the swap symbol modal.
I save and restart the file and the original symbol utility_industrial_crate_metal_001_3x3 re-appears in the library empty.
I use a lot of nested symbols in large libraries so this is a major bug.

Exporting to Flash, missing library item?

I am using Flash 8 (also tried CS3, but flash 8 seems to
import Captivate much better) and Captivate 3.
I want to create a project following the steps outlined in
this adobe article.

I am unable to because an item the author says should be in
the Flash library is missing. From the article:

Well I guess captivate 3 must export slightly different than
Captivate 2. I had to basically manually create the movie clip the
article talks about. When you export from cap3 to flash it puts
everything on the scene 1 timeline. So I copied ALL the frames
& layers, created a new movie clip and put it all into that new
movie clip symbol. Just kind of a pain to have to do it manually,
but not a big deal.

I want to rerun rule in BOP only for sub-item 12 only .
I dont wana loose previous confirmation for 11 n nor i want any change in delivery date for 11 .
Is there any way to achieve this coz in re rule evaluation system consider main item .

Trouble converting a complicated navigation into a library item

I am having trouble converting our main navigation into a
library item. The navigation includes many images, layers and
behaviors. You can see the nav at the top of
http://www.vedanta.org as you
scroll over the main topics just under the banner.
I built the nav from scratch on a new XHTML page and it works
fine. Then I did Edit/Select All and the entire nav was selected.
But when I choose Modify/Library/Add Object to Library, absolutely
nothing happens, nothing appears in the library at all.
Is this navigation too complicated to be saved as a Library
item?

DW will be flummoxed trying to put this into a Library item.
Either rebuild the menu in DW, or try this -
copy everything from -

inclusive, and paste it into a new Library item (FILE | New

Save that file in the Library folder with the *.lbi
extension.
When you insert it into a page, MAKE SURE THAT THE PAGE

My Multiple Saves On A Flash File Gone? [URGENT HELP NEEDED]

Hey guys,
I am very disappointed with the fact that I've been working on a school project on a Flash file for numerous days, and yesterday, I was close to completetion when I found out that none my saves were updated. Basically, I spent hours working on the project and I saved my Flash file multiple times; however, I just opened my Flash file today and found out that all of the updates that I had made on the file were gone. Is there any way I can still recover the file/updates through cache possible, and what may have gone wrong?
What I have Tried To Solve The Issue:
- I have done a full scan of the computer but only found the non-updated file.
- I had dragged the saved file onto my USB the previous day before I turned off the computer, but the Flash file on the USB is the non-updated file as well.
- Try to find a cache, unsuccessfully.
- Browsed this forum but found nothing.
- I even checked my Recycling Bin.
Other Info:
- I am using Flash CS3.
- The folder which contained my Flash file has all of the images that I had edited with PhotoShop CS3, as well as the images that I had downloaded online. It's only the Flash file that is old.
Please help me out on this as soon as possible as it's a school project. My hours worth of time is gone and I really don't want to have to start again while there may be a solution to this out there. Thank you very much.

You best bet is to get your san folks to give you some disk space for a mount point on the last node in the cluster. Once they assign the lun (not raw) have your SAs make it a mounted file system such as /dbbackup.
Run all of your rman backups on your last node on the cluster. The only draw back is, if that node dies, then you will not be able to run backups. but your backups would be safe as they are on the san.
Only way to have a mounted file system on all nodes in your cluser is to have some sort of third party file system cluster ware .. such as veritas or OCFS2 - then all nodes could see it.
I feel the first node in the cluster (the primary node) is the most busy out of the rest .. so thats why the suggestion of running rman on the last node in the cluster.

Flash Pro CC to CS6 fla issue - Bad library items and new library items with unicode names

I've noticed a strange issue when opening fla files in Flash Pro CS6 that have been edited in Flash Pro CC. If there are library items in the fla with names that include symbols such as ">" or ".", unicode named symbols are created and the original symobls are unuseable. There are many symbols that cause the issue and the symbols just have to be a part of the name.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Create an fla file in Flash Pro CC.
2) Add a single movieclip to the library with a symbol name of ">".
3) Save the file.
4) Open the file in Flash Pro CS6.
Results:
Library contains 2 symbols, one named ">" and one named "&#062".
Expected:
There's one library symbol named ">".
After that double clicking the symbol named ">" will do nothing and instances of the symbol will have all their content removed.
This issue is breaking a JSFL script I wrote that loops the library items. When the script attempts to access item.layerCount the script errors out. My team is blocked from using Flash Pro CC in combination with Flash Pro CS6 because of this issue. The only good solution I can think of is to all switch to CC at the same time to avoid converting our fla files to CS6 from CC.
Any info on a fix for this issue would be appreciated.

The dialog you get when you open the FLA in CS6 is that new features may not be available in CS6 so you should save it to a new file to avoid corruption. There's no "save down" from CC to CS6 (yet). So opening the file in CS6 isn't advisable in the first place.
That said, library items are supported between them both so to your point, yes, I get the same exact behavior. A single symbol named ">" in CC produces 2 library items in CS6 named ">" and "&#062", and the original item is lost. Although I'm not sure where I'd classify this issue being you shouldn't be opening a newer version file from an older version of the application. I did also try XFL, same issue. If they decide to create a save-down to CS6 and this still exists, I'd consider it a bug.
As for a fix, I think about the only thing that comes to mind is identify the characters causing issues and run a JSFL in CC to rename the library item temporarily to something you know will work fine. Then once back in CS6, run the JSFL opposite to convert them back to what you want. e.g. "this > that" to "this XYZ that" in CC, then "this XYZ that" to "this > that" in CS6. Shouldn't be too hard to map as long as the replacement is unique.

Flash Pro CS5.5 - 10 seconds to select a library item?

Something very annoying happens in CS5.5. It was already happening in CS5, but with newer version it got even worse.
When I select a complex library item for the first time, just clicking on it, somehow the library has to render another preview (the item is already visible on stage, so a new rendering happens).
During this "rendering" time, Flash hangs for up to 20 seconds, depending on how large or complex is the clip.
Also, when the message "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts." is triggered in the output panel (even 30 times in a row) then the waiting can go up to 30 seconds.
Probably, the library renders s different preview, maybe to accomodate components, or live-preview items? who knows?
This makes navigating the library tedious and annoying. If by mistake I click on the wrong item, I have to wait so long before flash works again, and this can happen several times during a work session.
Is there a way to disable this "feature" in library?

Thanks for the help Sharad but I don't think this is the problem.
Indeed I have two partitions on my mac air, but the one where OS X Lion is installed (the one with /Applications) is a non-case sensitive one. If I try to install on the case sensitive one, then, the Installation software does not allow me to continue. The /Users/fbnascimento is on the other hand in a case-sensitive device, althought it did not prevented me to install it on OS X 10.6. I have no idea what it might be, but as far as I can tell, it might have something to do with: "Install on Snow Leopard -> Trashing it withouth uninstalling -> Trying to reinstall on Snow Leopard". Maybe there is some uninstalled component I'm not aware of...
I've tried to download a new Flash CS 5.5 from adobe, the same error. If I copy a Flash App from another machine it does not run either.

I found the solution and the post was not properly phrased. There is no need to add menu into library. All we need is to put the compiled menu into Oracle AS and add the menu name the menu module of the given form.

Urgent help to save a waveform as jpeg to a specifi folder on my pc

I'm practically very new to labview and maybe even to the forum that I might be posting this question in the wrong place (sorry about that).
I need urgent help on the following issue (prob. a very easey one)
here is a picture copy of one portion of my vi:
I'm able to save the data in text format, no problem there. it saves the dat file into C/NLdat folder. this is ok.
I also want to save the waveform chart into same folder NLdat. I did the right click on "waveform > create invoke node> get image" but doing this is not saving my jpeg anywhere. could you please show me step by step how to save it (what type of things I need to use specifically, as I feel like a idiot now)

You also need to make sure that getting the image happens after the xy-graph has been updated. Currently both things happen in parallel and there is no guarantee what happens first. there is a 50% chance that the image contains stale data.

Help: Using templates with Library items

Hey there dreamweaver users
Just a quick question it might sound dumb but im new to the dreamweaver world and would be greatful if you could answer this question i have.
I have made a template for my site and i wish to update all the child pages with a library item i have inserted into the main template,
ive put it into the main template as a footer navigation links and then left dreamweaver to update all my other child pages with this library item.
the thing is it never works am i doing something wrong ? really could do with some help.

Urgent Help! Flash Links not working on PC but fine on Mac??

I need urgent help as my client is expecting a fully working site this week and i can't seem to understand what the problem is with the site i created www.tuarard.ie. The links such as the link 'download current programme' which is on the splash page works fine on mac but not on pc. there are other various links throughout the the site as well which don't work on pc.
Could someone please help me fix this problem. i am guessing the flash in fine but that the html is causing the problems. i am a beginner in the world of html so i know very little about it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is hindsight, and likely more of an opinion-based answer, but except for the original dynamic "opening" of the flash homepage there wasn't anything I saw on the pages other than the scrolling photos at the top that required flash to accomplish. Flash is cool (I use it frequently for sections of a page - banner animations, etc.), but I've found it's often more trouble than it's worth unless every section of you site will feature something amazing or compelling to use it...
It's not search engine friendly (unless all of your text is linked externally, and even then limited), the correct player needs to be loaded on the viewer's machine to view, and it opens (generally) much slower than a standard html page...
Having said that - I think the site looks great - and fits the feel of the content, (and worked fine on the mac and windows browsers I tried here...)

How do I change the titles of a couple of pages, eg "Biography" to "About" and how do I delete some pages?

Library Item Help

I took over responsibility to maintain a customer's site, the original is done in CSS. I am still learning CSS. Meantime, I wanted to drop in a Library Item that I made, but the item is not appearing correctly in the browser. I was hoping someone could offer suggestions on how to make it work properly. Are the jpgs your library item is pointing to actually uploaded to the server?
