Flash, DW work with Vista 64 bit?

Has anyone tried this? I have DW, Flash, and Fireworks
working in Vista Home 32 bit but I want to try the 64 bit version
on my production computer (Dell E521 64 bit Athlon). I'm also
posting this on the Dreamweaver form. A search of both forums
didn't give me an answer and I can't be the first one who is
curious. I've read Adobe's PDF on Vista compatibility.

I should mention that I have Studio 8 and the programs are
working fine in Vista Home Basic 32 bit. The DW update went well
but you have to "Run as Administrator", a strange change from
XP.

  • Internet Security Suite does not work with Vista 64 bit

After attempting to use the Chat Help, twice, and spending hours in queue before getting kicked off, I finally called Support to find out why my new Vista computer was not running the Internet Security Suite that I downloaded.  Yes, I found the link to "download to a second computer" and went thru all the steps.  Got lots of positive feedback: little bars were filling in letting me know I was 40%, 72%, 100% done, etc..  Was given a window allowing me to Run or Don't Run the software.  It all seemed to go very well.  However, when the "download and installation" was complete, there was no new software running anywhere on my computer.  Couldn't find it in the Control Panel, the Start menu, or the system tray.  Called Support and spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with a "technician" (and I use that term VERY loosely) who had to have major assistance from a co-worker before he could even start screen-sharing with me and, during the course of our time together, made the following brilliant remarks:
Upon seeing my desktop wallpaper (which is a lovely photo of some cliffs and a lake - and it came with Vista), he wanted to know what the picture was.  Not where it was taken, but just what it was.  His exact comment was "Does your screen always look like that?".  I had to dig deeper to determine if he was asking about a particular icon or some other computer related concern that he saw (he was "technical support", after all), but he was just asking about the stupid photo.
He couldn't find the Control Panel in the Start Menu until after trying several times, and then he couldn't navigate to the Programs area very well (I had to give verbal hints as to where it was), and his brilliant comment then was "I really need to go to my mom's house and get on her new laptop and try out Vista."  Can you believe that Verizon has technical support folks who have never used Vista?  It's not like Vista just came on the market yesterday!!
So, when he finally decided that he was not going to be able to help me, he didn't offer me any other recourse.  He just stated over and over that he was not sure how to solve this issue.  Oh, and this was after I re-downloaded ISS (again, "successfully").  I had to ask if there was someone else there who could possibly help me.  He offered to put me on hold (for the 2nd or 3rd time at this point) to check around.  When he returned to the phone, it was obvious that someone else was operating the mouse in the screen sharing mode because the operator moved confidentially around the screen and went immediately to system properties and saw that I am running Windows 64 bit.  The other operator then told my guy to tell me that ISS only works with Windows 32 bit.  Their final resolution was that I should call billing on Monday and end my subscription.  I think that may be the only good advice I was given that day.
So, am probably going to renew my trial version of Norton on this new computer and remove ISS from the laptop and put Norton on there as well.  Apparently, they are up to date with this fancy new technology.  At least they probably know about sophisticated and highly technical stuff like desktop wallpaper.

I have been trying to get somewhere with this Internet Security Suite...and now have come to the conclusion this is not going to work.  Now running Vista 64 bit, and have gotten nothing but the run around to try to complete the downloading of the program.  I've contacted Verizon Tech Support...then tell me that this works with the 64 bit but I need to contact Windows as there is a glitch and they give you the steps to get thru it.  Windows advises me to contact Verizon again as there are no problems with the OS.  Also have contacted Radialpoint and once again nothing...Obviously the Secuirty is not compatible with Vista 64 bit yet, which I just can't believe like you said...it's not like it was just yesterday this OS came out.  My frusteration comes from nobody steps up to take any responsibility as to what the problem is.  If it is not compatible yet then say so and not waste my whole weekend trying to get a straight answer.  I have other computers that I am currently using the service on and do like the program, but as for my Vista 64 bit looks like I may go to Macafee for protection.  It just amazes me as big as Verizon is and as popular this Vista has become they are not on the ball in keeping up with technology.

  • Does 32-bit itunes work with Vista 64-bit ?

will the latest 32-bit version of itunes install and run properly on the Vista 64-bit OS ?
this is my last attempt to get itunes to work on my machine, tried everything else and frankly disgusted thus far with the freezing, etc.

i'm curious....if previous versions of itunes were installed, and i run the updater or do a full uninstall of apple software on my machine, does that completely wipe everything that was installed ? for example, the Gear drivers, USB drivers, etc ?
after numerous times trying to use itunes, it binds up (randomly), and eventually binds up windows. i can't shut down itunes, even with taskman. only option is to hard shut down my machine. up until yesterday i had not had a problem doing this, windows booted up fine. but last night i corrupted my OS, i finally got it back up and running, but there were problems after the repair. so i chose to wipe the raid array and start from scratch.
if a fresh, first time install of itunes 8 x64 will work fine, i will do it, but before i load any apple apps on my machine, this time around i'm backing up the entire partition just in case.
if i still get the problems i had before, i am reverting back to the pre-apple state, and going with wmp.
the logic here is: if a company goes on tv and bashes it's competition (Apple bashing Vista), then it's a no brainer that the problems inherit to windows users are 'seeded' by Apple. I cannot accept that Apple doesn't know what they are doing when they write software, because they are bright enough to write such software that does so many fantastic things for Macs, how is doing the same for windows that much more complicated ?

  • Locating drivers for Imac 24" (Early 2008) to work with Vista 32 bit

Hi all. I'm really having trouble with my Mac and was wondering if anyone has an alternative.
I have an Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.8 24-Inch (Early 2008) running OSX 10.5.8. I recently partition my hard disk using Bootcamp and installed Windows Vista 32 bit.
This is where the problem starts. I misplaced the driver DVD's that came with the mac and i am in dire need of the drivers especially for the video card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 pro). I was able to download the drivers for the video card but, anytime i try to install or play a game for example, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare it always give me a error that no drivers were found and the game crashes.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Does the Apple website provide drivers for Imac 24" drivers for Windows Vista 32 bit?

    Patrick,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You will either need to find your install discs that came with the computer or contact Apple and they will replace them for a nominal charge.
Going forward keep these and other original installation media in a safe place.
    Regards,
    Roger

  • Flash player 11 problem with vista 64-bit

    Firefox browser 64-bit, I think
    OS - Vista Home Premium - 64-bit
Adobe flash player 11 does not work with the 64-bit version of vista (it's a fact)
Can I download a 32-bit version of FP 11 on my 64 bit version of Vista?
Can I try loading a 32-bit version of firefox and then download the 32 bit version of FP11?
How do I get to a 32-bit version of firefox to download it?
How can I get to a previous version of flash player - 10.3?
What is wrong with Adobe that they make a flash player that will not work with Vista or XP 64-bit OS?
Most of the videos no longer play - just get a message that the video is no longer available - problem started when I downloaded FP 11

Try using the installers from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550

  • Itunes not working with Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Itumes 10.6.3 version will not work with Vista Home Premium. I have a 32-bit operating system. I'm not sure what to do next. It appears in trying to update it deleted the old itumes, as I can't find a copy of it when I search the computer.

    Then I installed Quicktime on its own - still get the same error 'Quicktime has stopped working;
Okay. That will be the source of the iTunes problem. (Without a properly working QuickTime, iTunes won't work correctly.)
Checking on things that can cause QuickTime launch errors now.
Have you at any stage installed any Codec Packs, any copies of the programs QT Alternative, QT Lite or Storm Codec, or any media converter programs that can convert files into QuickTime readable formats?
(I'm checking on these things because depending on the versions of the programs/codec-packs, these can install earlier versions of QuickTime componentry on a PC, which can interfere with the running of a higher version of QuickTime.)

  • ITunes v7.6 still NOT working w/Vista 64-bit

    I believe it's not working because AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi WON'T install.
It gives me a "The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured." error.
Is there ANY WAY around this at all?
Also I've installed & uninstalled iTunes v7.6 multiple times now, rebooting between installs also but still no luck.
I've also extracted the 6 installation files out of iTunesSetup.exe and I'm trying to get AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi to install, but it just won't install.
When I start the iTunesSetup.exe package and finish installation, iTunes Setup Assistant also gives me a warning that says "iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes."
And under Event Viewer I see this "Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Apple Mobile Device Support. Product Version: 1.1.3.26. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603."
Help please! I would really like for iTunes to work with my iPhone!

Well at least up and til today, there never was a solution to activate or even synch Vista 64 bit OS, iTunes, and the iPhone - for anyone, anywhere - period. Not unless you used some VMware solution (which I've heard mixed results on).
This new version of iTunes (7.6) did today for the first time, correct the ability to burn CDs from my collection of music in iTunes. Before this version it wasn't possible.
My Mobile Device Support program did update and install correctly today along with the other apps that got updated. So now I wonder if it is truly possible to activate and synch with an iPhone?!? Anyone try this yet?
Cyanide regarding your install, I had to go through something similar back in one of the earliest versions designed for Vista 64bit OS. The trick is not only uninstalling, but removing all references in the registries, left over file folders, etc. after uninstall. Then begin a clean install.
BUT, it's entirely possible that the iPhone still is still not capable of syncing with Vista 64 bit.
If you think you've had this ability before, than I'm 99.9% sure you only have Vista 32 bit OS.

  • I need to know how to run Flash Player in a Vista 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit O.S.

Help please !  I have been reading for days, trying everything to find the answer to my dilemma, which BTW is making it impossible to use our new computer now. Every other minute it seems I get the message that I need to run Flash Player in a VISTA 32-bit browser which is actually running on a 64-bit operating system.  Do I have to uninstall a program (what and where is it) and then instal something else (from where etc.)?
Give me back our XP!  I get the idea that Adobe keeps SAYING they are developing a platform for Adobe Flash to run on a 64-bit, but I fear that is only a stall. Who is responsible for helping neophytes?  No matter how many times I have tried to contact Adobe, it is a joke.  One time, even though I do not have a subscription for service, the poor man took pity on me.  But his Indian accent was so severe I have ZERO idea what he was saying.  Can one of you wonderful, erudite, helpful people out there give me the solution in computer language 101?? I will be forever grateful.  I wish our computer "guru" had been smart enough to give us the pros and cons when he suggested Vista and 64..... When I am asked for a serial number even I have no earthly idea how to get that either.  I feel completely HELPLESS  and SLEEPLESS in Tucson.   Thanks SOOOO much to whomever can get me going in the right direction. (Forgive my LONG message.  I had to vent.  I feel better.) CLOWG

    Hi Clowg,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  Unfortunately, I don't believe the folks here on this forum will be able to help you with your issue.  Have you tried posting on the Flash Player forum?

  • Creative MP3 Players Zen V Plus with vista 64 bits

Hi... I really need help... I just bougth a new computer with vista home edition 64 bits. But my mp3 does not work with vista. I cannot use the Creative Media Explorer because the program is not associated with any other program.
Does anyone knows how I can install my mp3 correctly... without problems...
I send a message to the technical services but anything to do... I do not understand what they say...
If you can answer me in french... il will be more easy for me...
Thanks to everyone and happy new year 200.

This sounds similar to another thread I read here. I think the answer is to uninstall WMP (rollback to WMP0) and then reinstall WMP. I think there may have been something else you need to do as well.
I'll see if I can find the thread for you.

Download and install the QuickTime 7.4 standalone installer(without iTunes), install it, and report back your results? You can get it here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
    Thanks,
    Roy
    Unfortunately, no.
It does not work correctly, I actually had to do a system restore. It broke a few things. Most noticeably my quick launch bar quit working. The icons were present but clicking them did nothing, it would not re-size correctly, etc.
I wont be putting it back on the PC any time soon.

  • X-Fi Audio - Subwoofer NOT working in Vista 32-bit Ultimate!

<X-Fi Audio - Subwoofer NOT working in Vista 32-bit Ultimate!I I have WIndows Vista 32-bit Ultimate and Sound Blaster X-Fi Audio installed and with the factory drivers (I tried another set earlier and they did not work, so I reinstalled the original drivers which worked, at least partially). Until now I only listened to music using my headphones, but I tried today to plug-in my 5. Genius system (50W RMS) and everything works fine EXCEPT the subwoofer does not produce any sound at all!! The ONLY way to make it work is go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> press Configure and then click the Test button in the dialog that appears (or click the subwoofer icon to make it produce a very nice bass sound - which I absolutely love, but it's the only way to make my subwoofer work!!!). Please guys, help me find out what the problem is. All help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you my friend,I have done as you have mentioned (made sure the DLL did not stay there when I rebooted before I installed your version), and now I have the version which you have built. However, I am still unable to hear the subwoofer I am so sad... even my default on-board card supports the 5. just great, and I love the sound of that, but I was hoping for something better from Creative - instead, all I got was a soundcard I can only use with my headphones at the moment because of a faulty driver...
    Did you enable Bass Redirection?
Run Console Launcher, click on Speakers and Headphone -> choose 5. Speakers.
Then click on Bass (Bass Management) and enable Bass Redirection.

  • Making the WMB54G work with Vista (Service Pack 1) - it does work.

I posted this in response to a thread, thought it could use its own topic.
There is hope and potential success for Vista users!   I got the WMB54G 2 days ago.  I spent 6 hours with it and nearly threw the product AND my computer out the window the first night.  I scoured this forum for the past two days,  and by putting pieces together from various threads,  I'm now using the Music Bridge successfully with my 1 month old Dell XPS M1530 with Vista Home Ultimate with Service pack 1.  Once I had my gameplan,  it worked perfectly the first time I tried the new approach.  I will try to write a step by step process of what I did in the next few days but for now.....
    1.  Throw out the installation CD that comes with the music bridge (its useless for Vista).... I'm kidding, but you get the point.
    2.  You HAVE to dowload the Vista compatible installation utility and Firmware upgrade from the Linksys forum - I don't have the link right now, but its here in this forum.
    3.  Run the Vista driver setup to install the Musicbridge utility - the "Install utility" link at the bottom of the setup screen, but DO NOT try to configure the router since you'll just have to do it again later.
    4.  Run the firmware upgrade for the router (it behaves exactly like the setup utility, but instead of configuring the hardware for use, it upgrades the fimware)
    5.  Run the Vista driver setup to configure the router (only after the firmware upgrade).   I didn't have to do anything outside of the auto setup.  i'm using a Linksys wireless G router as well, and it connected with 64 Bit WEP encryption no problem once i entered my encryption passphrase.
    6.  Open up MSCONFIG and disable the CMFLYWAVE Application on Startup
    7.  In your Program Files directory,  find \Linksys\wmb54g\wmb54g.exe,  \Linksys\wmb54g\driver\cmas2ds.exe, and \Linksys\wmb54g\driver\cmflywav.exe - For all three files,  right click and go to Properties\compatability.   Check the "Run this program in compatability mode for:"   pick XP with SP 2.
THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE PEOPLE WHO POSTED THAT LAST BIT!!!!
    8.  I'd suggest restarting the computer now.
    9.  You might get a "WMB54G.exe has stopped running error" on restart... that's ok
    10.  Start the following files in this order:
    cmas2ds.exe
    cmflywav.exe
    wmb54g.exe
    11.  The utility should start, and then you can connect to the bridge via the system tray icon.  - you might have to also set the default audio device to the Music Bridge by right clicking your system tray speaker icon
    12.  Uncheck the "Start the Music Bridge when I start Windows" option in the utility screen - and execute the three files in step 10 each time you restart.
I hope this works for you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I finally got my WMB54G to work with Vista SR1.    It took me 4 hours of struggling to figure it out though.
    What I did was:
    1. Download the latest utility and firmware from the linksys support site.
    2. To set up the device, preferably use http://192.168.1.210.  There are http setup instructions on the linksys customer service site.  Alternately, you can use the setup wizard on the CD but I would recommend avoiding it if you can.  If you do use the setup CD and it installs the WMB54G utility, promptly uninstall the utility afterwords and restart the computer.
    3. Update the firmware to v.2.18 by using http://192.168.1.210 and going to the HELP tab
    4. Install the latest utility from the support site but do not run the main setup.  Simply run setup.exe in the utility folder AND GIVE IT PLENTY OF TIME.  Walk Away and let the installer finish and close.  Then do the thing people discovered -- edit the properties of C:\Program Files\Linksys\WMB54G.exe and make sure it is set for running in XP compatability mode.
    5. Restart the computer
Mine started working fine after I did all of this -- the WMB54G came up automatically and found the device.  Keep in mind I do not have WEP or anything -- just unsecured wireless.
    Good luck.
    Mike

    Hi,
I have Satalite A300D-15B AMB 64-bit notebook with Vista 64-bit installed. After I have installed Vista, it automatically took the audio drivers for sound card, but Dolby didn't work.
I tried to install the drivers from toshiba, it fails.
Can someone guide me how to install the Vista 64-bit drivers for Conexant High Definition Audio please......
    regards,
    Ganesh

    Hello Ganesh
Sorry but this notebook model is not supported for Vista 64-bit and I don't know what driver installation are you writing about.
What you can try is to download and install THIS driver.
This is driver for Satellite A300 but this notebook has the same sound card as your Satellite A300D - Conexant CX20561.
    Please post the results.

    Hi all,
I am really feel bad that no one replied from Apple.I dont know whether you guyz are looking on this forum. But I tried the given SDK 7.3 with Vista 32 bit and also with XP. In both the OS its working fine. But It not supports Vista 64 bit. May be Microsoft or apple has to provide compatibility for developing quicktime app using windows. Thanks.
