Flash Embed in Dreamweaver and IE on PC

Hi,
I just completed my first flash page and everything looks
good so far. But I'm having an issue when I look at the page on a
PC using IE. When the page load's the flash movie needs to be
clicked on before the buttons are allowed to roll over. This does
not happen on macs using any of the browsers I have, Mozilla and
safari.
Here's how I've embedded the swf file. I've imported the
flash movie and placed in a dreamweaver HTML file then uploaded to
server. Any ideas how to solve this issue. I can provide a link if
it'll help.
Thanks

  • Problem with dreamweaver and Flash

Hi, maybe someone can help me, i have any problem with
dreamweaver and flash, i have a page and i have a menu and
    sub-menu, and the same page i have a category en flash 550 x 700 (
photography and more... ) but when the menu to unfold
the menu to see under flash and it cant see ( sorry my
english is bad.... i hope you can understand me, and help me.. )
i dont now why always flash ever stay up, or first, and
another information under flash... this a problem... if you have
    menus...
    thanks.... have nice day.....

This is a drawback of using flash or any other active
content. By default, all active content including flash will
display over every other content and thats why your menu stays
under the flash movie. Some people make the flash background
transparent to show content under the flash movie, but that will
    not work for menu items.
I would suggest that you make the menu such that it does not
    overlap with the flash movie.

    rezala,
You should be able to get round the issue altogether without the legacy version (and its security implications), by following this:

It is even more thoroughly described in this thread, see post #3 on by gator soup:

I have always found it odd that MX 2004 owners have been provided with non-activation serial numbers by Adobe.
However, Studio 8 owners (later version software) have been left stranded with no non-activation serials and no way to activate their software when they re-install. What do they do?

  • Uninstalling Dreamweaver and Flash MX 2004!

    hello guys!
i want to insntall studio 8 but before i do that i want to
remove studio mx 2004 (flash, dreamweaver and extension manager)
for Mac OSX, but there are NO information on this site! and i tried
    googling but found nothing!
i could just trash the apps and the pref files, but there are
many other files that are stored in my computer, plus there is a
extensions manager that i don't know how do remove..
i remember there was a link on the old macromedia support
page on this subject but now all they have is information on
removing studio 8! thats discrimination against old versions!
    please help me!
    thanks!

    OSX,
I would install Studio 8 first. It'll install into its own
    separate folder
    and won't affect MX 2004.
Ensure that your preferences, extensions and site definitions
    get migrated
correctly and that everything's running in 8 as expected.
Then think about uninstalling MX 2004.

  • Question--Dreamweaver and FLASH Video

I have looked at tons of forums now and still see no solution for the problem many of us are having. I've loaded a flash video using dreamweaver cs4 and it won't show up. I've gotten the white box syndrome too. I sure wish someone could figure it out...I've consulted three "experts" including someone on the phone at adobe. My flash file is very big...193 MB, but can't it be done?

After download and installation, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro all won't fully launch. From the Windows icon pane, I click on the program, it opens the Sign In Required pane, I sign in, it opens the Thank You pane and reverts back to Sign In pane or never opens the program.
Acrobat also keeps giving me a popup to sign in, each time I look at a .pdf file.
I have tried uninstalling Acrobat and then redownloading. It didn't work.

The second part of your question doesn't make sense or you
are not explaining correctly. You have a grid which spawns a popup,
user selects company name and binds to text field. Ok. But you
should then submit that info to a query, no?

#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

  • Creating SCORM/AICC compliant content in Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash CS4

Could anyone please advise if Dreamweaver and Flash CS4 is suitable for creating e learning SCORM/AICC compliant content?
    Many Thanks.

I thought Captivate was only flash based projects. I am currently installing the trial version of the suite to investigate.
I have read the features section of the suite and it states that Dreamweaver CS5 comes bundled with 'Domain specific html templates' that are 'instructionally sound' html templates for elearning course development. Are these not SCORM compliant?
I am really just creating a very simple online course that contains no interactive activities or assessments and is very heavily text based with several supplied flash videos. Advice on what would be best to produce this in would be appreciated.
Please note I have very little understanding of SCORM compliancy etc at this stage.
    Many Thanks.

  • Scrub question for dreamweaver and flash

It has been forever since I have used Dreamweaver. I pretty much stick to print design with the exception of my own stuff, and my last few sites have all been done 100% in Flash. So I am in the process of putting together my new site in dreamweaver and have gone through a few hours worth of tutorials so think I am well on my way to getting something up.
My plan is to have a flash header that I am hoping can stay the same throughout the site. In other words, I dont want it to reload each time it goes to a new page, just keep playing. Is there a way for me to easily accomplish this? I am assuming this would be on the DW side, but if need be I can post on the Flash forums.
Now the one other thing, if its something that can be done but is a total nightmare to deal, or just too far out of my league since I havent used DW any time recently just let me know and I will come up with a new plan.
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the feedback. I knew going into those last sites what limitations flash brings to the table. Beleive it or not those two didn't really play into my thought process at all. I get very little traffic, most of it from people actually typing in the web address or linking to it from after I email it to them. It does on the other hand let me do some really creative stuff like a drag and drop resume that was modeled after a pantone book. Anyways, the big thing thing that is pushing me to go the the other direction at this point is mobile devices. Just driving me up the wall that I cant see my site on my iphone.
As far as the current project goes, thanks again. I think I will just skip the flash at this point, and I have already been thinking about a back up plan. No point in trying to figure out how to do something that is already dated.
Now for question two. I have a client that I do print work for that has a similar issue. He has a "music player" on his site that has a similar problem. Any time someone changes pages the song stops, and when the new page loads so does a new song. No idea what sort of technology/ program/ addons were used for this, but it drives me nuts anytime I go to his site. Would it be a similar process for the music player to conitinue pllaying? Meaning the frames? Would just like to be able to point him in the right direction so he can tell his web guy.
    Thanks!

  • Uninstall Dreamweaver and Flash MX 2004

    Hi,
I'm having problems finding information in product support
regarding how to uninstall Dreamweaver and Flash MX 2004 from Mac
    OS X.
Could anyone help by directing me to on-line help, or other
step-by-step instructions. I would really like to get all
files/extensions/etc off my computer (because I'm a neat freak) and
don't like having misc. files lingering around.
    Much Appreciated,
    Don

Put the files in the Trash. To find orphans do a spotlight
search for DW MX2004, etc and trash these.
If in doubt, don't Trash the files, but zip them so they are
not accessible to your system. Ditto on all the orphans in the
    /Library/..... and /User/Library/.....
Once you are sure that you really no longer want MX 2004,
then you can trash the zipped files.

  • Dreamweaver and flash combined?

hey everyone, i'm new at both dreamweaver/flash and currently have a project combining the two together and i really cant work it out (i'm even using html instead of css haha) :/
Anyway, what i want to do is have a zipper (as in a zipper on ones clothes) on my main page and when someone puts their mouse over the zip, it zips down and reveals the text for that page.
I have gone into photoshop and started editing a zipper at different stages of being pulled down, but am stuck as to how i'd
    a) link it together on flash/what type of file to save it as?
    b) put the actual code into dreamweaver
    c) have it actually working functionally to reveal my text underneath.
thanks in advance for any help, i'd be very appreciative of anyone who could give me some advice

Sorry what you wish to do would involve creating your entire page in flash (there is another way but unless you are competent in JavaScript!),
In flash create the first and last image then a transition between them.
As this is a dreamweaver forum, You would be better off visiting the flash forum if you are uncertain on how to do this.
    Flash forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/flash
Once you have made your flash video, you can insert this into dreamweaver by selecting (from main menu in dreamweaver) insert -> Media -> swf.
Just as a by-note to realize the effect you wish (if you do not wish an entirely flash site, which I would not recommend), remove your flash code once it has played (or reset the z-index in css), using JavaScript.
Once you have made your flash (swf file), visit the DHTML section (for the javascript help), then return here for more info.

Do you have the Flash buttons on all web pages was my point.
    In other words,
did you have the same Flash buttons on the Contact page?

Is the intro_buttons.swf in the web site root folder -- what
