Flash error message

Since downloading the latest version of the Flash player, I
continue to get an error message that pops up on my desktop. The
window reads "Error (in the header) Could not find the Macromedia
Flash." When I push OK it goes away for about 5 minutes, but then
it comes back and it also comes up every time I turn on my
computer. It appears that some program or what not is looking for
the Flash player, but the Flash player program is not where it
should be or the program is looking in the wrong place. How do I
find out what program is looking for the Flash player and tell it
to either look somewhere else or just stop looking? Or do I need to
do something else? I'd appreciate any help.

Hi Mitch
From simple experience and experimentation I've determined
that this message means the following:
This error manifests under the following conditions:
You used the MenuBuilder application to create output that
exists as a .EXE file and the output contains a link to a .SWF that
cannot be found.
When this happens, a very generic error of $ is not a valid
integer value will display inside a dialog titled "FlashPlayer".
I suppose this could also happen if you were linking from a
Captivate created .EXE file. Not sure. Perhaps you will be able to
confirm or deny that.

  • NEC 3540A Flashing Error Message

    Forum Members and Adobe Staff,
I know this isn't an Encore issue. My luck is poor today. I tried to upgrade the firmware in my NEC 3540A drive to firmware 1.04 and received a flashing error message in the beginning of the process. I waited and finally cancelled the update after the process stopped. My drive is the master drive and I disabled the secondary hard drive as suggested. No other programs were open. After the flashing error message I rebooted my computer and tried the burner. The burner still lists the older firmware version 1.03 yet. I just burned a DVD image using ImgBurn and it burned the DVD okay. How do I know if it's burning DVD's correctly now after I received the flashing error? I have updated firmware in drives many times and I have never had a problem until now. I followed the NEC instruction but something went wrong. Any suggestion on how I can tell if the burner is working correctly? Do I need a new burner as a result of the error?
    With Appreciation,
    Don

    Ruud,
Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out the burner and it's an NEC. I purchased it from Newegg.com. I read the notice. I just tried updating the firmware with version 1.04 again with the same error message. Then I tried the burner and it still shows the last version 1.03 but it still works and burns fine. I've updated this burner before so I'm stumped. I'm wondering if I should move the burner to my main computer and update it there. It has a newer P-4 processor, etc. I can always move it back again. This has me real puzzled. Any more ideas?
    With Appreciation,
    Don

  • Flash error messages

I'm using Flash .SWFs that incorporate the Flash zoom and pan component. When I import the .SWF into Captivate, I get an error message (Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found. URL: file:///C:\Documents and Settings\Desktop\Testing\ILS13L.jpg).
However, the .SWF imports without a problem. Every time I click on the slide in the Captivate project, I have to "dismiss" the error to continue.
It all works fine in the published Captivate .SWF. It's only during editing that it is a problem.

I've branched this into a new discussion.  The other thread wasn't really manageable, and I wanted to make sure we tracked and responded to this.
Were you able to get this issue resolved?
If not, what's the error message that you keep getting?

  • Flash error message appears since Windows 8 install

Ever since I installed Windows 8, Flash does not work properly in Firefox. If I visit a page which has Flash elements, I repeatedly get the error message:
"The instruction at 0x718e0000 referenced memory at 0x718e0000. The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program."
This message keeps reappearing countless times when I press OK. I have tried updating Flash, uninstalling and reinstalling, reinitialising the plugin database etc.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

  • Incomprehensible Flash Error Message?

Hi, this tiny window appears on top of Flash (I think) videos in Safari 6.0, running in Lion 10.7.4.  When I click on the "don't" symbol, it disappears.  I can't read it, I'm not even sure it's English.  Anyone know what it is?
This is actual size, by the way.  It's tiny.
    Thanks in advance!

I have some more info, it's a Macromedia error message.  Clicking on the question mark takes me here:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help06.html
So it's an error from Flash saying I don't have enough local storage.
However, their version of the error message is clearly in English.
Anyone have any thoughts about why mine is gibberish?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases. Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • Downloading Flash - error message

While downloading a newer version of flash, I get a message to shut down Internet Explorer.  I shut down the sessions that were open, but cannot clear this message.  How do I resolve this?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save it to your downloads folder and close Internet Explorer. Reboot your system, so NOTHING is running but Windows. THEN run the installer.
    Then check the following:

  • "Could not load Shockwave Flash" error not solved from common fix.

I am using Google Chrome as my web browser and I am getting the, "Could not load Shockwave Flash" error message. I have googled it and followed the common fix, however it does not fix anything. If I disable the plug-in then it prompts me to install Flash Player when I view videos and if I try to install Flash Player it tells me that I already have it installed, but it is disabled and to re-enable it. I've done about all I can think to do, please help?

    You cannot:
    -download
    -install
    -repair
    -update
Flash Player for Chrome from here. Chrome uses a proprietary build called PepperFlash. It's modified by Google before they embed it and Adobe doesn't have downloads for it.
    You can try the following:
    1. Exit chrome, make sure it is not running
    2. Using Windows explorer go to C:\users\[user name]\AppData\local\Google\Chrome\User data\Pepperflash
    3. Delete the folders you see there
    4. Start chrome again.
    Notes:
[user name] is your logon name.
In order to access the AppData folder, you need to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" in your Folder Options.
If those steps fail, the ONLY way to repair it is to uninstall and reinstall Chrome.

  • Error message when installing Flash Player : List of actions not found

I get an error message when trying to install Flash Player.
I use Windows 64 bit with Internet Explorer 64x.
I'm able to download, the installation starts but it stops before completing.
I get this error message (loosely transalated) :

How can I fix this ?
    Thank you

I solved my problem by installing the Flash Player from home.
The network security at work prevented me from completing installation.
    Thanks for your help.

    Dear Julian,
I have had this problem for the past year, I have tried everything except the obvious (and correct) solution:
immediately after you click itunes (from the dock) start rapidly pushing the enter button.  when the licence agreement flashes it already has "okay" highlighted so if you press enter at the right time it will continue opening Itunes - you may have to try it a few times to get it right, but it works.  isnt it wonderful that someone on this forum responded to your inquiry? thanks for posting!
