Flash Error

Hi,
I recently downloaded an Adobe update and now I get an error
message on my desktop. A box appears and states "Could not find
Macromedia Flash". I have tried to redownload Adobe Flash and it
appeared successful, but I'm still having trouble. Any help would
be appreciated.

Are you talking about the Flash player? Try going to the
flash player
download page and downloading it again and manually
installing it.

Firefox freeze whenever flash error happens

I have the newest firefox and the flash debug version. Whenever there is an flash error happen, the error message window popup, and then my firefox freeze immediately. It seems like the problem only happen on debug version of flash. I searched online, people said change the "dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs" to -1 will fix the problem, but I tried, it doesn't really fix it. Anyone know anything I could try to fix it?

Hi. karaoke I am not sure if its the same issue. The crash at language switch on my computer was due to the IME for Eastern Language Banks (Language option -> Detail under text services and input languages -> Properties -> reset/untick auto learn).
If you are not using Eastern Language IME... I am sure others here have more experience and can better help you. =)

IPad browser automatically redirecting to adobe flash error page

This is very annoying. I have had iPad for a few days but first noticed this just now.
While perusing used cars on cars.com I found that clicking on a link to a detail listing would first take me to that page, but then almost immediately redirect to an adobe flash error page. Feels like a sleazy trick by adobe to annoy iPad users.
Example link below, this is just a listing for a used Porsche in northern Va:

It's not something Adobe is doing. The cars.com site is redirecting you to adobe.com because you're missing a plugin that cars.com is using to display that page.

Track flash errors on remote machine

I'm wondering may I run Adobe Scout to track the flash errors on remote machine?

You can remotely profile with Scout, so long as the machine running Scout is visible to your remote machine (it has to be able to connect to it). See the section "Local and remote profiling" in the getting started guide for Scout:

"Could not load Shockwave Flash" error not solved from common fix.

I am using Google Chrome as my web browser and I am getting the, "Could not load Shockwave Flash" error message. I have googled it and followed the common fix, however it does not fix anything. If I disable the plug-in then it prompts me to install Flash Player when I view videos and if I try to install Flash Player it tells me that I already have it installed, but it is disabled and to re-enable it. I've done about all I can think to do, please help?

You cannot:
-download
-install
-repair
-update
Flash Player for Chrome from here. Chrome uses a proprietary build called PepperFlash. It's modified by Google before they embed it and Adobe doesn't have downloads for it.
You can try the following:
1. Exit chrome, make sure it is not running
2. Using Windows explorer go to C:\users\[user name]\AppData\local\Google\Chrome\User data\Pepperflash
3. Delete the folders you see there
4. Start chrome again.
Notes:
[user name] is your logon name.
In order to access the AppData folder, you need to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" in your Folder Options.
If those steps fail, the ONLY way to repair it is to uninstall and reinstall Chrome.

NEC 3540A Flashing Error Message

I know this isn't an Encore issue. My luck is poor today. I tried to upgrade the firmware in my NEC 3540A drive to firmware 1.04 and received a flashing error message in the beginning of the process. I waited and finally cancelled the update after the process stopped. My drive is the master drive and I disabled the secondary hard drive as suggested. No other programs were open. After the flashing error message I rebooted my computer and tried the burner. The burner still lists the older firmware version 1.03 yet. I just burned a DVD image using ImgBurn and it burned the DVD okay. How do I know if it's burning DVD's correctly now after I received the flashing error? I have updated firmware in drives many times and I have never had a problem until now. I followed the NEC instruction but something went wrong. Any suggestion on how I can tell if the burner is working correctly? Do I need a new burner as a result of the error?

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out the burner and it's an NEC. I purchased it from Newegg.com. I read the notice. I just tried updating the firmware with version 1.04 again with the same error message. Then I tried the burner and it still shows the last version 1.03 but it still works and burns fine. I've updated this burner before so I'm stumped. I'm wondering if I should move the burner to my main computer and update it there. It has a newer P-4 processor, etc. I can always move it back again. This has me real puzzled. Any more ideas?

continous errors about "shockwave flash", "script has stopped working" etc, causing numerous slowdowns, lock-ups, and crashes. have tried several fixes, but none have worked.....please advise

Is it a permissions problem? Here's another way.
(1) In a My Computer or Windows Explorer window, open this folder:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
If that folder does not exist, then you are using 32-bit Windows, and you can open the following folder instead:
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
''(Note: This folder exists on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, but on 64-bit Windows Firefox uses the Flash player in the SysWOW64 folder instead.)''
(2) Check for a file named mms.cfg:
(A) ''If mms.cfg exists,'' drag it to your '''Documents folder''' where you can edit it without being bothered about administrator privileges
(B) ''If mms.cfg does not exist,'' open your '''Documents folder''', right-click > New > Text File and name the new file mms.cfg
(3) Open mms.cfg from Documents into a text editor such as Notepad. Add this on its own line (I put it last):
ProtectedMode=0
Save the file and close Notepad.
(4) Hold down the Ctrl key and drag the mms.cfg file back to the Flash folder to make a copy there, keeping the original in Documents
This change should take effect the next time you restart Firefox.
Hopefully that works around the permission issue.

HELP! flash error code #1065 variable TCMText is not defined

Im doing a project for uni and trying to create a search bar throughout the flash document for people to find what they are looking for.
Followed a tutorial online step by step and then i get this error. #1065 variable TCMText is not defined.
I'm really a beginner, any help would be so greatly appreciated!

Flash error in dreamweaver CS4

So, I am trying to integrate about 10 or so pics in a flash
format on my site. So whenever anyone opens the site, different
pics flash in a loop. I tried doing this by going to Insert -->
Media --> SWF. And then a little flash icon pops up where I want
the image. Then I got into tag inspector (on the right column)
--> Behaviors --> preload images and using the "+" sign, add
all the images I want. But when I click the "Play" icon (in
properties at the bottom), I get the following error "Unable to
find the plugin that handles this media type. Dreamweaver looks in
both the "Configuration/Plugins" folder and the plugins folder for
each of your installed browsers".
I am not sure what this message means. I checked my adobe
flash version and its updated. Any help would be greatly
appreciated! Also, is this the only way to upload flash images or
is there any other?

I am using Vista so file locations are different. Still, I cannot find any preferences folder or configuration folder that I can rename to recreate. There is no "CreamWeaver" folder in the user profile - even in the hidden parts.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Rename the folder to Configuration_old and launch Dreamweaver. It should create a new Configuration folder with the factory defaults.
On Vista, it's located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration.
It's a hidden folder, so you need to enable hidden folders in Windows Explorer.

If that doesn't work Try #12 - deleting your personal configuration folder.

Firefox 4.0 flash error

Having upgraded firefox to version 4.0 i seem to be experiencing flash content errors. The display of flash tends to have large blocks of color (generally white/grey) in the middle or near the edges of flash content. Many times this is around the buttons one can press.
My best example is when using hulu the screen showing latest shows will flicker with random boxes, many times this has to do with the position of my mouse over the flash box. Any help/known issues.
Using ubuntu 10.10 with firefox 4.0. Have shockwave flash 10.2

Flash error from Captivated swf files

I need to load swf files made in Captivate into a Flash file. Everything has gone smoothly except for a Multiple Choice quiz swf which shows this error in Flash:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
          at com.adobe.captivate.main::cpSoundHandler/com.adobe.captivate.main::getSoundInfo()
          at com.adobe.captivate.main::rdPacemaker/pace2()
          at com.adobe.captivate.main::cpMovieController/com.adobe.captivate.main:cpMovieController::m ovieonEnterFrame()
The quiz can still be taken even if there is an error but when the main swf file is viewed, the error pops out and has to be dismissed. Is there a fix for this? Any help would be appreciated!

loadMovie() is the best option if you want the external swfs
to appear in the same browser window as your menu. you need a
target movieclip into which to load the external swfs (or use
loadMovieNum() ).

Help with Installing flash error- metafile cannot be loaded

I read the forum on this but it ended last year and there was no response to some recent questions on this and the direct email to the Adobe rep. on there got no response.
I am having this problem with installing Flash- it gets about 30% of the way and then a message comes up that says the metafile cannot be loaded.
I am running 10.7.5 on Mac, all browser software is current. I use both Safari and Chrome. After it said Flash was out of date I tried to update but got the metafile error. So I uninstalled Flash to install it fresh but the same error came up. I tried everything recommended from the forum. I also did all the steps from the help list direct from Adobe ( deleting Flash files, folders, rebooting, etc.) The offline link Adobe provides says the "file cannot be found" so I can't download that either. So I tried the online link download, but even after doing all the steps in order etc. I still get the error when I try to install it.
I have no firewall and have no virus software running. I also tried the direct offline links that others have provided from 2013, (unfortunately they are old) in both clicking on them and also downloading by right click but they are dead links and even the download for it has no content.
Any help that is more recent than last year? If this is in the wrong place, apologies. New to the forum.

I tried all solutions but one posted in adobe support. I am local administrator but IE security settings are set by group policies and buttons in tools security setting are grayed out.
After three days with "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" message I tried registering the activeX control manually.
Bingo! that made the trick.
So open a DOS window, type "regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx" -first check if this directory exists and contains the Flash10d.ocx (no quotes needed) and you should receive a confirmation that it registered correctly.
I must say that I've tried so many ways that I cannot repeat the correct order before this has worked ;-(

Flash Error #1009 -- NEED HELP!

Okay. I am relatively new to AS3 and I have been working on creating a visual timer. My code is very simple, and I can't figure out why Flash Pro CS6 is giving this error message in the Output:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
          at TMR_fla::MainTimeline/timer1hit()
My code looks exactly like the following:

I cannot figure out why FLash is giving me this error. Mainly because my code works great! It does exactly what I told it to do, it goes to Frame 2 and stops. But in the Output the error message just keeps repeating forever. I have looked all over this forum and found multiple topics on this problem but none of them help. Few extra key notes:
1. My second frame has absolutely ZERO code. Just some scribbles on stage to indicate that I've made it to the 2nd Frame.
2. My stage for frame 1 looks like this:
The object on the right is my timer. The rectangle on the left is my finish.
Rectangle has an instance name of finish1
Timer has an instance name of timer1
I have triple checked the instance names, I know that they are all spelled right. Can somone help me?

If the error is repeating forever, it is probably because you have tha ENTER_FRAME listener continuing on. If you are in frame 2 and any of the objects that the ENTER_FRAME event handler function is targeting are only in frame 1, then that will be the source of the error. In your event handler you should remove that listener before you change frames.
