Flash export leaves "gaps" between button clicks

Hi!
I'm having a nasty issue with the flash export capability of Encore CS4. I was trying to build a website that has 3 pages and a navigations system to go to them. The problem is that although everything seems to work just fine in the Encore preview, as soon as I export the project to a flash file and try to navigate, I get a flash between the clicks. It kind of looks like flash player is updating the content, just a quick flash on the page.
I have seen examples of flash webpages made with encore and they didn't seem to have that problem. What could be causing the "gaps" or "flashes" when navigating?

Encore CS6 6.0.2.004, IE9, Win7
Simple project, DVD NTSC, One menu with one button. One timeline. Menu first play, button linked to timeline.
Output flash with flv (and again with f4v - same results), No template, keep with flash swf rather than streaming.
Open index.html locally, must manually enable active content. Menu opens, movie plays. No grey screen.
Copy entire folder to USB, same result; USB plays on a different PC also.
Upload to web site; same result.
Am I doing soething differently from either of you? Are you using templates?
Factors related to flash security (for local and probably USB playback) can be problems. Various server settings can be problems for on line.

Export to excel on button click of C# code

Hello,
I want to develop an application in C# with authentication , after viewing all the pages, if the user clicks the more button or select a radio button, his information such as user name , and other information
must be appended to an excel sheet (office 2003 or 2007 excel sheet). The person associated with the admin can then view the excel sheet in offline mode to view the details of all the people who opted for a particular option. There may be overlapping of the
time when person clicks the button and admin is viewing the excel sheet. Is there a namespace or library in C# to perform this.

In latest version of MF there`s missing button, which was in previous version: between buttons back/forward and the typing bar there used to be little flash, which showed few last pages I have just browsed. How can I restore it?

If you mean the drop marker then you can still get the History of the Back and Forward buttons if any by either Left-Click and hold for a second or by Right-Clicking them.
If you still want the drop mark there also then there is this Extension at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/

Urgent: Flash Player 10, record audio - save locally on button click?

Hi there,
I am wondering if Flash Player 10 will allow a Flex app or a Flash app the ability for the user, inside of a web-page, to record some audio with their microphone then click a button to activate the OS's Save File dialog? The user would then just save the audio on their local filesystem.
I was thinking this had to be done with a Java app, but I am seeing that v10 allows saving if the user initiates the action (button click)... i cannot a definitive answer or example that shows recording audio without it going to FMS or Red5. The requirements of this app prohibit a media server so I am not sure if this can be done with Flash Player 10?
Is this possible? If so are there any examples of this flow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If we can record audio from Flash Player 10 inside of a webpage and save audio files onto our local places by the use of mic applications, it will be very convenient. In fact, we can turn to use other available programs to record audio from flash and save locally by clicking buttons. It is possible to use recorders to record audio on flash or any other media players.
I don't know whether my guess is what you are thinking or not, perhaps you need to search for more information.

CS5 Multiple page sizes leaves a gap between pages on a spread

I'm laying out a 6pp DL leaflet.
I've set up page 1 as 97mm wide, pages 2 & 3 as 100mm wide. This is the usual way to set up a 6pp DL, only before CS 5 you would have to do it the long way round.
Only it seems when you have different page sizes in a spread it leaves a gap between the pages when there is an alternative page size, rather than butting the pages together.
How can I get rid of the gap between pages in order to print it as spreads?

I don't know what you were doing, but Steve's method works perfectly for me. As long as shuffling is disallowed on a spread the pages will not separate. In fact, I've not found a way to create a gap between pages that are joined as a spread, even two page spreads for which shuffling is allowed, so perhaps I don't understand the question at all.

Clicking Export or Next Page button blanks out report

We are having an intermittent issue where a report loads fine with several pages or data but, when a user clicks the export or next page button, the report blanks out the data and shows the page count as 1/1 where it was 1/250 previously.
This does not occur every time, but seems to be happening to all users and some point and with multiple reports.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? We have tried restarting the page server and republishing the reports.

i import my CP2 project into Flash8 pro ,
But whene i try to test my movie or whene
i publish my project from flash8 ,I hear gap
between slides recorded sounds, exactly

master2006, I'm suggesting that Captivate is a standalone
product and you don't see the problem until you export to Flash.
Therefore, the problem is not a Captivate problem, but one
connected to Flash. The Flash forums might be a better place to
find someone who can explain how (in Flash) to avoid the problem.
In a nutshell, you might find help either place, but the
Flash forums are hundreds of times more likely (IMHO) because you
are describing a Flash problem, not specifically a Captivate
problem.

I having trouble with a scrolling page......where i have a video. the pages between the video and the previous page jumps and show a gap between the pages.....i'm not sure if it is the spped or what?

Hello cor-el, I apologize for not letting you know if your suggestions about my question worked or not. I came down with pneumonia and then caught the flu on top of that. Today I tried what you had suggested about disabling the hardware acceleration and it didn't make any difference. You had also gave me a link to he article about plug-ins and when I clicked on the list of the current plug-ins I have the following is what came up:

When I then clicked to see if there were updates available, the only one that it said was updated was the Shockwave Flash. The Windows Media Plug In Dynamic Link Library, said the status was vulnerable and the other three said the status was unknown. Does any of this make sense to you and are there things that should be on the plug in list that aren't? I apologize for the length of my post but I wanted to give you as much information as possible. Is there a way to insert a specific gap between clips? (CS4)

I am trying to insert a 3 second gap in between about 15 clips on a timeline. I could do it manually, but it is sort of a pain. How can I insert a standard gap between clips?

I know of no semi-automatic way to do this--it's going to be some degree of manual work, whichever way you slice it. But this might help make it a little faster:
Drop all of your clips, end to end, in your sequence.
Switch to the Track Select tool; I believe the default shortcut is "A", but I might have changed that.
With the Track Select tool active, click on the second clip in your sequence to select it and all clips after it.
Using the numeric keypad on your keyboard, type in "+300" for three seconds, or whatever time duration you need, and hit the Enter key on the keypad. All of the selected clips will be moved forward in time three seconds. This will leave a gap of three seconds between the first clip and the group of following clips.
Go back to step #3 and repeat this as often as necessary to create the gaps. You should be able to mow through them pretty quickly in this fashion.

Why is there a one-inch gap between FF logo and search engines?(I'm using FF4).

I recently downloaded FF 4.I'm not technically savvy,and was a bit confused to see a drop down menu and the word "Firefox".
I didn't like the new set-up and managed to delete it, in favor of the logo.
Now,the opening page is in the background and there is a one-inch gap between the logo and the search engine.Is there a way to have a space reduction?

* Right click a blank part of the tab bar and click "Tabs on top" to remove the checkmark. Tabs will subsequently reappear below the search bar.<br><br>
* Repeat the same steps, but click the top one called "Menu bar". This will reinstate the text links at the top.<br><br>
* To rearrange the layout, repeat the same steps again and choose "Customize". A panel will open and while that remains onscreen, you can move elements like toolbars, buttons etc around and place them anywhere you wish.
