Flash exporting help

Hello! So I just upgraded from a PowerBook to a MacPro. On my PowerBook, I used to be able to export directly from Final Cut Pro to a .flv file through Quicktime Conversion. Now on my MacPro, the plug in won't work, but I have been trying to do change my .mov files to .flv through Flash 8 Video Encoder. But when I do that, it puts all these weird horizontal lines in the .flv file.
How do I get rid of the lines?
And do you know why my plug in won't work in Final Cut Pro now??
Thanks for your insight!

No, Quicktime Pro doesn't give me the option to
export to FLV. Any suggestions?
Do you have 'FLV.component' in QuickTime folder (library/QuickTime)?
Yeha there is a horizontal line at the end of the
movie, but that was in the client's original home
video that I couldn't fix. The other problem I was
talking about was the horizontal lines all through
out the movie. Did you see that? It's mostly
The only major one that I noticed was a series of horizontal lines in the middle of video. It's at the scene where a girl is playing by the pool side. It seems that's caused by a scene change. What is the keyframe? And what is the video codec, anyway?
whenever there is quick movement with my HD footage,
not as much on the client's home video footage.
You asked about the bitrate. I'm not sure.
When you open your movie with QuickTime, choose 'Show Movie Info' under 'Window.' If you can't figure it out, this site will show you in detail.

  • How do i include transitions in Flash export?

when I export my Keynote presentation to Flash, the transitions I selected disappear leaving way to a simple change of screen. I was wondering if there was a way to preserve all transitions and effects in the Flash export.
    Thank you for your help!

I am pretty sure its not possible at this stage.
As most ads like Mochi etc are in fact .swf files loaded in from the web, which is not supported on the Iphone. ( as those would be actual 'Flash' files where as the app you are running is compiled to Xcode )
PS: hmm i just realised you were referring to the native Iphone Ads... well I dont know then! but is a really really interesting question! I suppose when Adobe releases a 'non-preview' version of the Packager they might open up some API to it.

  • Flash Export and Image Quality

When I place Illustrator CSx eps files in my keynote presentations and then export to flash it really chews up the images. You would think vector images would fair the best but the lines are very jagged making the presentation look very ugly.
Does anyone have any tips on improving this? I've tried PNG,jpg, etc.. the images I'm using are line art (e.g. diagrams) but it doesn't seem to help using other file formats.
I don't understand why there is no compression control available for flash export....
    Mark

edit your image in photoshop and experiment with various settings/size.  there's no magic high quality small file size setting.
it's a trade-off.  the higher the quality and the greater the image dimensions, the greater the file size.  you have to decide where those are acceptable.

  • CS6 flash exports use 1 motion transition for all instances?

I'm using Encore CS6 OSX10.8.4.  I have 1 main menu, 1 sub menu, 2 simple motion transitions.  One to the sub menu and one back to main.  Both only 1 second long created in AE 5.5 rendered as .mov files.
Everything looks good in the preview option.  Exported to DVD and everything works fine.  Export to flash and it plays only one motion transition in both cases.
I tried replacing the referenced motion video that was not recognized another and the same results.  Happens in both FLV and F4V exports.
Any ideas on how to correct this?  There are no special characters in my project file asset names.  Tried it in chrome and firefox. Redid a new Encore file and same outcome.
I wan to use flash export to keep higher resolution than SD so I can take a screen video of navigating through the menus and use that high res video as part of a portfolio for a potentical job.
    Any Help is much appreciated

There are some limitations to flash export, but I don't recall this coming up. No time to test at the moment.

  • Encore CS6 Flash Export problem

    Hey There!
I am having a problem with my encore CS6 flash exports.
The DVD menus are shown the right way in the browser but, when I select a video to be played, the flash player shows me the video controls but no video. The background stays grey. I've tried exporting FLV and F4V and the problem is the same.
It looks like the link in the XML is not good. The videos are in the folder exported by Encore and they play well in VLC. Do you have to edit the XML file to make this work? I guess not...
Maybe reinstalling everything? Because from my perspective, it looks like it is an easy procedure and it should work.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    My specs:
    - Mac Pro late 2013 with Maveriks 10.9.4
    - Safari 7.05
    - Encore CS6

The Encore structure puts the flv in a "sources" subdirectory under the level with the index.html.
As long as the user has not modified anything, the path should be okay.
Nicolas, confirm that the directory with index.html file also has a subdirectory called "sources," and that that is where the flv/f4v is.
My suspicion for many users with a local, but not web problem, are having a local permissions issue.
One user reported fixing a similar problem by removing odd characters in the filenames. The theory was that the characters were breaking the xml linking.

  • Illustrator crashes when opening Flash-exported SVG

Illustrator (latest CC version) always crashes when I try to open a Flash-exported SVG. It doesn't matter if I try to open it directly or import to a blank document. Other SVGs open well. I've already disabled all non-essential Windows 7 services. Does anyone know a workaround?
    Thanks in advance.

What do Windows services have to do with any of that? I've tried anything that could help at Entre em contato com o Atendimento ao cliente! Maybe you never had any trouble with Illustrator before... The whole thing is as simple as this: any software shouldn't crash while opening a file with incompatible data (it should warn and abort the operation)! And actually Illustrator opens every SVG file correctly, but those exported by Flash Professional. The file data should be correct, since any other SVG-compatible software can open those images. Any software, but Adobe Illustrator... You can see at Re: Is there a way to save out/export vector art from Flash CC to open as vector art in Illustrator CC? that Flash Professional's SVG export feature should allow a Flash-Illustrator workflow. It doesn't, at least on my system. I've described in few words the steps to reproduce the error: latest CC software, Windows 7 system, no matter any other service, export SVG from Flash (tried different options), open with Illustrator, unexpected crash. I haven't attached the files because the forum does not allow this. They're here: http://www.caritasinveritate.teo.br/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/1.svg and http://www.caritasinveritate.teo.br/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/transparencia1.svg

  • Encore CS6 Flash Export problem, Grey screens

    Hi everyone,
I am having a problem with my encore CS6 flash exports, they are not behaving as expected online (seems to be like a loading issue).
I've tried exporting FLV and F4V and the problem is the same. The same project exported from CS5.5 does not produce this undesirable
problem. It may be important to say that the project was started in CS5.5.
I have a button that links to another menu, and I am using videos as 'transitions'. The videos are dynamic after effects compositions.
When it's online, and you press the button it fills the canvas with a  'grey screen' before starting the video transition. This totally breaks
the experience and feels like an authoring error. It would be important to note, that this screens only appear the first time you see the flash.
Somehow the next time you press it doesnt show it.
I would happily go back to CS5.5 but I started using auto-activate buttons that are only available on CS6 flash exports.
Any ideas what has changed between this versions flash exports?
    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks in advance,
    Cris

    Encore CS6 6.0.2.004, IE9, Win7
Simple project, DVD NTSC, One menu with one button. One timeline. Menu first play, button linked to timeline.
Output flash with flv (and again with f4v - same results), No template, keep with flash swf rather than streaming.
Open index.html locally, must manually enable active content. Menu opens, movie plays. No grey screen.
Copy entire folder to USB, same result; USB plays on a different PC also.
Upload to web site; same result.
Am I doing soething differently from either of you? Are you using templates?
Factors related to flash security (for local and probably USB playback) can be problems. Various server settings can be problems for on line.

  • Flash Exporter vs Adobe Media Exporter

Can someone explain how After Effects chooses which exporter to use for FLVs?
I have 3 different scenarios and 3 different exporters are showing up in After Effects. I would prefer to use the Flash exporter since that one seems to give us the best results.
In CS2 on my PC when I do export FLV the Flash exporter shows up.
    http://www.geniusdv.com/weblog/archives/After%20Effects%20and%20Flash%20settings-thumb.gif
My co-worker just installed CS3 and when he does this option he gets the new Flash Exporter. But he can't use it because it says for him to use the render Queue. When he uses the render Queue the Adobe Media Exporter is used.
    http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/premiere/pro/export/images/vCS3_exportsettings-winmedia. gif
We do not like the results that the Adobe Media Exporter gives even when using the same settings. I never liked using in Premiere because I always had bad results and it seemed to crash a lot.
The last scenario is using CS3 on my MAC. When I do export FLV I am able to use the new Flash exporter. When going through the render queue I get the Adobe Media Exporter.
The best option would be the render queue with the Flash Exporter.
Can someone explain why there is not just one option? And why I can't set which one I want to use. We do have the Flash exporter installed on all three machines. Any help would be great!

Thanks for the reply Mylenium. I really don't want to go into the problems I am having with the encoded files. I am really just trying to understand why there are 2 separate exporters. I have done some more digging and apparently the Flash Exporter (FLV) is a quicktime exporter. Which is the one we would prefer to use. We are having errors with this exporter and sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't work.
We are mainly having difference in encode times and quality loss when using the Adobe Media Encoder. We are exporting projects that use screen shots (which is not what AE is for.) I do notice the difference in time when exporting video projects but I have not taken the time to compare the 2 apples to apples.
Like I said I just want to understand why we are getting errors with the FLV exporter by QT.

  • BUG?! "Last Slide Viewed" in Flash Export NOT WORKING!!!

Am I missing something? In Keynote, I create an object, assign a hyperlink to "Last slide viewed" and export the file to Flash/SWF.
Lo! Behold! The "Last slide viewed" hyperlinks are not working! I tried it on objects AND text, but nothing works.
Do you know a work-around or is this a hard bug?
I don't have to tell you the whole project is getting ready to be flushed...
Thanks in advance for any help!

I wouldn't call it a bug, more like something Apple just didn't implement. I mean, I have to wonder how hard it would have been to write a flash file that itself (not Keynote) tracks where the viewer is and remembers their last "slide"
Personally, I think the flash export on Keynote should NOT be one of its selling points. If you need a serious flash movie, it's best to just use flash.

  • Flash player has been installed multiple time without errors but bbc news website and even flash player help say it isn't. How do i get out of this loop? - using windows 7 ultimate and latest IE11

flash player has been installed multiple time without errors but bbc news website and even flash player help say it isn't. How do i get out of this loop? - using windows 7 ultimate and latest IE11

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser?  It is already installed, I just don't use it.  I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it?  If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

  • Looking for a sample of the Flash Export from Encore CS3

I am close to upgrading to the CS3 Production Premium and one of the features that intrigues me is the Flash export from Encore CS3. I have searched the Adobe site without success for a sample of what an exported project looks like and functions on the web. Can anyone point me to a on-line sample of an exported project? Thanks in advance :)

'Black Gaps' in Flash usually come from the Flash trying to locate & load the next Flash file. Without a Pre-Loader, you will probably always have this... especially if your quality is set too high. This equates to longer load/buffer times which means there is nothing to display until there is enough video loaded in the buffer to play.
If your ultimate goal is to create Video for the Web... you'll need to learn proper techniques for producing video for the web. It is much different than producing video for TV or DVD. On the web you have to compress your video a lot more therefore you should not use a lot of Motion/Movement in your Characters, Camera, Media, Motion Backgrounds, etc. The less Motion/Movement you have means you can lower your quality settings but still get awesome looking video & good load times eliminating the Black Gaps and making an all around smoother internet presentation/experience.

  • Two Flash export errors

I've only recently started using Encore and am enjoying it so far.  The slide show feature appears to be a bit buggy, but the Flash export feature looked interesting so I gave that a try.  Creating the flash export was easy, but there were two errors in the code it generates.
In index.htm I had to edit the parts shown the bold in the line-
    Original:
    <div style="border: 4px solid #000; width: 640px; height: 480px;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="960" height="540" id="flashdvd" align="middle">
    Changed:
    <div style="border: 4px solid #000; width: 960px; height: 540px;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="960" height="540" id="flashdvd" align="middle">
I was exporting as a 960x540 video.  Before the change the video was displayed right of center.  After, it was centered.  In the preview of the template the video was centered.
Also, the three png files in the Sources folder had to be renamed to remove the space in the file name.  I was not able to upload those files to my web server.  I had to change the references to those files in the AuthoredContent.xml file.
Anyway, you may have the same problem, and maye the right people will see this and fix it.

    Hey Neil,
Thanks for replying. When I author DVD's, I use the basic encoding standards you listed above.
In this case, since the output is not written media, I was encoding in a way that would give me the best possible results (in theory at least) when planning on flv being the final encoded output, where lowest possible file size with best possible quality is the goal (since it's home will be on the web, not a DVD).
As for my issue with the errors generated from the Export to Flash option, I have learned some things, and was able to successfully Export to Flash.
One thing is that apparently the Flash encoder that EncoreDVD CS3 uses is not the same as the Adobe Flash CS3 Video Encoder or whatever Flash encoding engine Premiere uses. Encore's Flash output settings are limited, and so are the results.
What I had to do was export my PP CS3 projects to Flash using Adobe Media Encoder and update the XML that Encore spits out accordingly to point to my newly encoded flv's, replacing the flv's that Encore created... not a big deal, but one extra step and little more waiting time.
Now, the results are stunning! And since I'm not comfortable in Flash CS3 or coding ActionScript, having Encore create the menu interface, with all the navigation and interactivity and such, for me was a big BIG plus!

    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Keynote 08 Flash Export not compatible with Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro

    Hello
Our company uses Keynote extensively for presentations. We also give presentations online using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (hosted, formerly known as Macromedia Breeze - <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/>). Where as it's a great environment for online seminars (best I've seen), it fails dramatically when you upload a looping Flash file created in Keynote. I first tried this in Keynote '06 and now in '08.
When I tried in Keynote 06, the animation was three slides looping, synced to an audio track. When I tried in '08, it was one slide with (the new) animations looping over 20 seconds (or so) without a soundtrack.
I have some contact with Adobe, and this issue has been sent to their engineering department, but they seem to think there's something funky about the format of the file that Keynote exports. I'm trying to gather more data for them to investigate with.
Does anyone know what version of Flash Apple's export is most like? Do we have any specs on the file export format?
Has anyone tried using Flash exports in other Flash-using online environments?
    Thanks!
    ~brian

I believe I figured it was somewhere between Flash 5 and Flash 6. I say this because while the resulting presentations could be opened in QuickTime (which only uses Flash 5) a better result would be achieved by viewing in the browser. Either that, or QuickTime's Flash 5 support isn't complete.
