Flash fails to load into Firefox.  Why?

I have tried too many times to load the Flash player into firefox (3.6.6 on Windows NT (SP3), 32 bit).
Flash does work on IE, but never on Firefox.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No joy.
It does not matter if Firefox is running or not why I try to load Flash.
It may be a clue that the automatic download does not start.
Instead I have downloaded install_flash_player_ax.exe and run that program.
If goes to 100% and then says "DONE"
I downloaded the Adobe Reader and that works fine.
It is a bit frustrating that the help pages suggest in several places
that I upload Flash in order to get help uploading flash.
Among my attempts to get a clean Adobe environment on the machine,
I tried to remove the Adobe Download Manager. It failed with the message:
    Error loading C:\Program File\NOS\bin\getPlus_helper.dll
Is this a problem for loading Flash?
How can I get the named file? (There is no Program Files\NOS directory.)

My anti-virus is AVG free 9.0.839. It has a firewall.

  • Images fail to load into the browser

    Hello,
Sometimes images fail to load into the browser (they show up as a red "X"). Does anyone know why? Refreshing often loads them correctly, but then a different image will not load (and show a red "X").
    Thanks very much,
    Andy

    Hi Vikas,
Thank you very much for your help on this. I am now using a faster computer and the problem no longer happens. I did understand your suggestion - I was brainstorming ideas to make changes to APEX to account for slow computers, or computers without enough memory. To somehow guarantee a level of service for APEX applications at the end user's browser. Similar to how Oracle Enterprise manager can help guarantee certain SLAs for J2EE web applications, by monitoring performance from the browser all the way back to the disk. (I'm not sure if it 100% can do this today, but I believe this is the direct it is headed).
Well, I suppose if everyone uses fast computers this is no longer an issue. But, sometimes fast computers are hard to come by.
    Thanks again for your help,
    Andy

  • Report XML output fail to load into .RTF layout [EBS r12]

    Hi,
In EBS r12, we have requirement to have a standard report output in excel.
I got the report's xml output to create the xml template (.RTF layout) using BI Publisher.
I created the .RTF layout and it works fine on my laptop using Bi Publisher.. the xml loads into it and i can preview xml data on layout with all format (Excel, PDF...)
I uploaded the layout to EBS, and assigned it to the standard report.
I changed standard report out put to XML
When i go to submit report request, the template is assigned with report and everything seems correct.
    [See screen shot: http://img35.imageshack.us/i/xmlt.jpg/]
But after i run the report.
The report is Completed with Warning status.. and output is only XML with Error message :
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
    The Log file says :

    ------------- 2) PRINT   -------------
Not printing the output of this request because post-processing failed.

Why this is happening ? i have done this many times with other standard reports and it worked fine.
    Please advise.

please check the log file and post the output here
How to find OPP log file?
To investigate on XML issues or other publishing problems, often the OPP logfile is needed.
OPP stands for Output Post Processor. Below are the steps to find log file
    1. Login to the application as SYSADMIN
    2. Responsibility: System Administrator
    3. Function: Concurrent --> Manager --> Administration
    4. Select the Output Post Processor
    5. Click on the Processes button
    6. Select the Concurrent Process which was active during the time that the request ran
    7. Click on the Manager Log button to open the Output Post Processor log file

  • After 10.4.4 Update Flash Failes To Load In All Browsers!

Has anybody experienced this problem?, Safari failed to load pluggin. even in IE, firefox and Opera no flash loads. Is there a fix for this? I have also downloaed the plugins and have re installed them varius times, and still no go. Its getting really anoying?

    Hi, Brian.
One other thing I should point out: I also have
QuickTime 7.0.4 and the latest Flash player and have
not had a problem with either. Again, I'd be very
interested in knowing what led you to conclude QT
7.0.4 was causing the problem with Flash.
If it turns out that QT 7.0.4 was not the problem,
i.e. if the problem recurs after removing QT 7.0.4
using the reinstaller you cited, let me know as I
saved the other list of analysis and suggestions I'd
    planned to post.
    Thanks!
    Good luck!

  • Adobe Flash won't install into Firefox.

I've tried to install Adobe Flash Player numerous times. I go to their web site and download the installer. I then run it as an administrator and it says that it installed fine. However, when I get into Firefox V30.0 and go to Add-Ins Manager, it's not listed. I've tried uninstalling the add-in from "Add and Remove Programs" from Control Panel and install it again. I've tried uninstalling Firefox and downloading a new copy and then installing Adobe Flash Player again. I've re-booted my computer numerous times. Nothing works.

    Did you use this link?
The link for Flash Player is: '''http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/'''

Try to remove the cert8.db file in the Firefox Profile Folder or rename the file to cert8.db.old to remove the intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.
Firefox will automatically store new intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send them.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Why does why does Flash container services load into memory whenever I manually clear all history? It's always set to 'ask before activate'.

I am running Windows 7 SP-1 Ultimate and I always keep tabs on my processes with Task Manager. It gets very old always have to stop that process tree after manually clearing Firefox history from within the browser. Is this a glitch or intended? Thank you for any answer.

I am not certain but I believe it is likely to be due to the fact that FlashPlayer use will result in Localy Stored Objects and possibly other cached items and so the service will need to open in order to clear them.
I know a couple of years ago there was a glitch* in the process and plugin container opened unnecessarily multiple times and stayed open for the session
    * Bug 633427 - Clearing cookies launches instance of plugin-container for each plugin installed
As an aside you can choose not to save History or to use Private Browsing on those occasions when it is important not to save the History. There should be no need to clear History manually to improve Firefox performance.

  • EJBs failing to Load into 8.1.6

    Oracle Java gurus:
I have a similar problem with loading EJBs into 8.1.6.
However the problem occurs when loading from the demo examples on Solaris as well as loading from JDeveloper 3.1.1.2.
When the database has been initially built, everything works fine. However, after loading in a vendor jar file I get the following erros on any subsequent ejb loading:
    Reading Deployment Descriptor...done
    Verifying Deployment Descriptor...done
    Gathering users...done
    Generating Comm Stubs.....................................done
    Compiling Stubs...done
    Generating Jar File...done

Generating EJBHome and EJBObject on the server...
An unexpected exception occurred deserializing deployment descriptor: null
    *** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `server_generated.jar'
I did find out from the vendor that the java classes were developed (and therefore compiled) using jdk 1.3.
A large number of these classes load as invalid since they have gui elements. In my application, the gui elements will never be realized, so I atte, pted to marke them valid through loadjava using a resolver spec with (* -) in the spec, bu that failed to resolve the classes.
Is the byte code in jdk 1.3 that different as to wound Oracle? I deleted the invalid java classes, but that was insufficient to heal this problem. Do I need to delete all of the java 1.3 classes in the database and run initjvm again? How do I fix this problem?

  • How can I get an AAC plus player loaded into Firefox?

I have been listening to an Internet Radio station using IE for months. The station uses an AAC player. I switched my default browser to Firefox and can't play the station. When the player page comes up it says it is installing AAC + but after 5 minutes nothing happens.

Firefox won't play AAC files. If the player is not Flash they will have to specify an alternate audio format for it to work in Firefox.
Can you post a link to the station?

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • After firefox6 install my ie8 turns into firefox, why is that

hello, I just installed firefox6 and I went to use my ie8 for some items, and when I click on my ie8 icon, firefox opens as ie8.
Firefox opens when I click my Firefox icon and also opens when I click my ie8 icon. The only way ,so far, to get ie8 back is to uninstall firefox. This is odd,I've always had them side by side
    on my pc.
    Thanks

Maybe the icon images got mixed up. It happens sometimes. If you have TweakUI (from Microsoft), you can use it to repair the icon cache. Try Firefox again. Check the properties of the desktop icons. If an icon points to the wrong place, you can change that.

  • I pulled the bookmarks html file off of my computer after it crashed, and am trying to get my old bookmarks into firefox. How does one do that?

When my computer crashed, we managed to recover a bunch of the files and information from it. One of the files we pulled was the bookmarks.html from the firefox folder. The computer was running on Vista when it crashed, and I now have it running 7 Professional. The file is recorded as a Chrome html file on the new computer, and when I click on it, it pulls up a basic html page within Chrome or firefox that has links to the firefox website (kind of like a webpage version of the bookmarks folder from the toolbar, but without any of the bookmark adding capabilities). I'd like to get my old bookmarks loaded into firefox. Help?

Firefox hasn't used the '''bookmarks.html''' file for storing bookmarks since the Firefox 2 versions, in 2008. Later versions use '''places.sqlite''' for bookmarks and history. What you have is the default file that Firefox uses on new installations and new Profiles, which has like 6 bookmarks.
If you still have access to that old hard drive, see this for help: <br />
