Flash file with flv. files in it

I have a flash file that is 4.6mb and I need to add 10 to 15 flv files. Is that going to mess up the flash file at all?

It will add as much weight to the fla/swf file as the weight of the flv files, which would be a deterent to using it on the web.  Whether or not it messes up the file is a matter of design.

  • Flash EXE files with FLVs

    Hi,
I have an Flash file saved as an EXE which contains a couple
of FLVs. The video and sound play fine when you open the EXE
directly. In fact, it plays fine when you open it directly from
wherever I put it (file server, web server, etc). But people will
access this EXE from a link on a web page, when you click on that
link, which then opens the EXE file, the video and sound will not
play. I am stumped - and I'm far from being a Flash video expert.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks,
    S Ankerbrand

    mmm..
Is this because the FLVs are still on the server and you have
    given the full
    path to the FLV's ?

  • Flash SWF with Video file will not play in web page

    Hello Flash group,
I have created a flash video file from a *.wmv file.
    myvideo.flv.
I have used flash to build an swf file that plays the video
    (with a default skin).
I have then imported the media file into an html page using
Dreamweaver. I did not import the flv file, but the swf file with
    the "video" in it.
The page plays find on my development server (where
    Flash,Dreamweaver, etc is installed).
When I moved the html page, the flv file, the swf file and
the skin to my production webserver (linux and apache)
the flash files do not show up on the web page. The dev
server is a windows XP running apache 2.2)
Any ideas on what I need to do???
    thanks,
    eholz1

It may cause by any of the reason below:
    - You have uploaded the flv file to the wrong directory
    - Your flv file path/name is incorrect. check all case
    sensitive etc.
    - Your web server doesn't support FLV MIME type.

  • Importing flash files (with sound!) can it be done?

    Hi!
I sucessfully importing a flash file but im not sure if the sound has imported with it, does anyone know if I can import a flash file with sounds or do I have to import the sound seperatly?
    Helen

    Helen,
After Effects can import .SWF files but unfortunately it does not recognize the audio in a .SWF file.
If it helps, AE can import .FLV files and it WILL recognize the audio in them.

  • Flash player/swf flv files behind members area not showing up

    Hi-
I am having problems with my swf and flv files. I have tried both going through adobe and JW players. My specific problem is this: I am posting to a non-mobile me server and these flash files are going behind a ccbill members area that you can only get to by signing in as a member through a paying website using ccbill. I saw Bob's post on the 11th and tried deleting the extra / I saw in my html files as well.. but that did not work. The pages come up without the flv or swv files. Have tried both. Shows up fine in iweb but when published it's not there. No error messages. Not even a blank box. It's just not there.
Any advice? Been to Old Toad, Roddy McKay, iwebunlimited (Jason) and iwebfaq (Cédric), apple forums iweb sites. Cannot find anything specific to members area so any advice would be very helpful!

Just so you know the Terms of Use for MobileMe accounts states the following:
    "*Limitations on Use*
You agree to use the Service only for purposes as permitted by these TOS and any applicable law, regulation, or generally accepted practice in the applicable jurisdiction. The Service is designed for personal individual use and is not intended to be used for commercial business purposes, including, but not limited to, transacting online sales or software distribution via an e-commerce site. "
The above is there to protect Apple in case of the server goes down or otherwise interrupts access to the sites and you lose income because of it.
MobileMe is not the best server to use for a commercial site. It's very slow and erratic in its performance. A commercial server, full service login type of password protection, i.e. each user has their own password and user name instead of one for everyone, etc., would be much more efficient and faster loading. Just some food for thought.

  • How do I save stock footage as flash file with transparent background?

    Hi
I have some stock footage of smoke on a black background (.mov format) that I would like to convert to a flash file with a transparent background, which I will be overlaying over a PNG image on a webpage.
I have managed to remove the black background in After Effects using a plugin called UnMult, but when I try to render as a FLV file in AE, even though I check the option to preserve the alpha channel and encode using the On2 VP6 codec, I still get a black background.
So I am wondering what else to try, whether it be with AE or Flash CS4.  Is there a way of achieving this effect by directly importing the MOV file into Flash CS4 and removing the black background there, or do I have to use AE, and if so, how to achieve the effect I am looking for?
I would be grateful for any help in getting this together
    Thanks

Flash files with audio sound garbled or high pitched
    Question
Flash files played in the the newest version of the Flash
Player sound garbled or have a high-pitched "chipmunk" sound to
    them.
    Answer
The latest release of the Flash Player (v9.0.115.0 released
on 12/03/07)) causes audio to sound garbled and/or high pitched
like a chipmunk. Our development team is looking into this issue
and working to find a fix.
To avoid this problem, you can roll back your Flash Player to
a previous release. If you have problems installing an older
release of the Flash Player please review this article and contact
    Adobe for further support.
At this time, the problem is limited only to SWF files
produced with the MP3 audio codec. As a workaround, you can produce
your SWF files with the PCM audio codec or use the FLV format
    instead of SWF.

Safe versions security restrictions when installing Flash
    Player
    Issue
If you previously installed a later version of Flash Player
for Internet Explorer, you may be prevented from installing an
earlier version. For example, if you installed Flash Player
9.0.47.0 and attempted to install version 9.0.45.0 the installation
    would fail.
    Reason
This issue is due to registry key settings applied by the
Flash Player security model. The restriction is to prevent users
from downgrading Flash Player minor versions. The minor version of
Flash Player is the third set of numbers in the version name. For
example, the minor version for Flash Player 9.0.47.0 would be 47.
If Flash Player 9.0.47.0 was installed and you attempted to install
9.0.45.0 (minor version 45), the installation would fail.
    Solution
To resolve this, download the uninstaller for Flash Player
from "How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX
    control" (TechNote tn_14157).
    Select Start.
    Select Run.
    Type cmd
In the command window, type the following:
    uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean
This will remove all entries in the system registry and
    resolve this issue.
Note: The uninstall_flash_player.exe file must be saved to
the same directory that the command window is in, for example C:\.

    Hi,
I doubt it's Safari that's changing the settings:
    Why does this happen?
Some third-party audio applications may change your computer's audio output setting. In fact, if you use the third-party application again after applying the above solution, the issue might occur again.

  • How do i use a flash gallery with xml file

    Hi there....
I am trying to include a flash banner template i have downloaded into my webpage using dreamweaver CS5.
the template comes with an XML file with it in which you can reference your own images etc..
I understand how to inclued the Flash object into my webpage by insert-swf- and then navigating to the .swf file...
what i am having trouble with is understanding how this refereces the XML file in the download pack as i cant find any references to it in the code??
I am just getting the grey flash box with no images appearing when i hit play etc..
sorry if this is a really silly question!!
    mart

If you are using DW to insert the Flash, that could be the problem.  It is not reliable resource in that respect (my opinion, but a shared one). I normally only use Flash to create the code and copy/paste it into my html page.  Did you get an fla file with the set, and do you have Flash?
What you should do is test the swf file by itself to make sure it works.   Normally you can link directly to the swf file to check that out.  Just type in the url to the swf file and see if it plays.  There may be some other setup required that maybe an accompanying set of instructions might explain.
Also, if you have a link to the html file you uploaded, providing it here may help in getting things resolved.

  • Problem with Flash file in IE

    Hello Everyone,
I have a strange problem and I'm not sure exactly what it is.
I have a 1.5 Joomla site with this module in it
    <object height="20" width="1035">
    <param name="movie" value="LEDDisplayTicker-1040.swf" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param value="high" name="quality" />  <embed height="20" width="1035" wmode="transparent" src="LEDDisplayTicker-1040.swf"></embed>  </object>
The site works fine in Chrome, FireFox and Safari but when it is viewed with IE I get an error and the page closes ( you have to surf through a few pages).
I know it is the above module because if I turn it off, the site works fine in IE.
The flash file imports and displays info from an XML file and the XML file reads from google finance.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Todd

  • How do I get rid of the flashing file with a question mark in it?

I wanted to start clean on my MacBook Pro osx 10.9.4. So I did the command r and erased what I thought was the right one. I restarted my computer and did the command r again and what came up was internet recovery. It can't find my internet because it's WEP and I don't know to change it to wpa. So I restarted my computer again and I didn't do the command r but just let it load itself to see what would happen and all I get is a flashing file with a question mark. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me.

    Do you get this display?
If so, you have to select an Internet connection.  Do not expect quick response time in this mode.  All activities in this mode will be lengthy.
    Ciao.

  • Synching Issues with Self-Paced Learning and Embedded Flash Files

    Hi Everyone,
I'm having some issues with my files not properly synching or displaying when Self-Paced Learning is active.
    Here is my set-up:
    Captivate 5
5 separate Captivate files combined using the Aggregator
Each Captivate file is about 15 slides
Each slide contains an audio file (for closed-captioning) and a single SWF file - the content is all created with Flash and then inserted into Captivate using Insert > Animation
Each SWF file is back 1/10 of a second from the beginning of the Cap timeline (otherwise there are rewind issues when the user selects the slide they are currently viewing from the ToC)
Each embedded SWF has the beginning and ending fade built into it; Captivate is not doing any fading
Synch to Project is selected for each embedded SWF (although it doesn't seem to work all the time)
Self-Paced Learning is active, as well as, Enable Navigation
It is not being loaded to an LMS or using any built-in Captivate quiz features.  These are instead custom built AS3 Flash files that are embedded.
    Windows 7, 4GB RAM, 1GB Video Card, High-end Processor, etc... a beast.
    The Issue:
When the user opens the course, views it for a while and then closes it and returns it will display the first slide of the course for a moment before jumping to the bookmarked slide.  This slight timing misstep causes the bookmarked slide to get out of synch.  It will sometimes not display the bookmarked slide at all or it will cut-off a small bit from the end of the slide (even with Synch to Project active).  It sometimes works fine but randomly will break.  The course is set to 100% preload and nothing is being loaded from an external location.  It seems to work fine until Self-Paced Learning is activated.
I don't think this is a common development approach for Captivate but it has been very successful with some clients.  Has anyone encounted similar issues or does anyone have some suggestions that might resolve this problem?
    Thanks!
    Greg

It's been mentioned many times on this forum that nesting Captivate SWFs inside other Captivate SWFs gives rise to all kinds of strange issues.  Captivate was not designed to work this way. If you choose to do it, and you encounter issues (as you have done) there's usually NOT a lot you can do.  There are just too many ways the SWFs can get into bun fights over which one does what.
I suggest you rethink your approach to avoid nesting.

  • MacBook Pro flashes file folder with question mark and startup manager will not run

My son's MacBook Pro won't boot (gets the flashing file folder with question mark).  When I try to open startup manager (holding "option" key during boot does not do it).  Other posts suggest inserting the install disk, but I am pretty sure that for Lion, there was no disk, it was just off the website through the App Store.  Any further suggestions?

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Whatever the problem is you no longer have a bootable system. You need to try reinstalling OS X.
Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

I tried holding command and R keys when turning it on but the recovery fails to work. I can hold the option key at start up and choose my network, then Internet recovery shows up with an arrow pointing up. When I click on the arrow Internet recovery fails and all I get is a globe with a triangle on it with an exclamation mark on it, and under that it says
    apple.com/support
          -6002F
Does any one know how I can fix this without a recovery disc? Thanks

I just want to add to this, in case someone else searches for this error on Apple Support (google doesnt cover apple support.. how clever is that?)
I had the same error. And i had a Computer that had worked, with a SSD drive and 16GB upgrade done by the owner himself.
I tried swapping with a Mechinal Harddrive, no luck.
Kept the Mechanical drive in, and tried with some other Ram, it worked..
So for me this error and after reading the other responses can be boiled down to a Harddrive problem or Ram issue.
    It was Ram for me..

I am using CSS and Javascript to display a div with an

I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue and is
there something I can do to prevent this from occurring?
