Flash Files to Dreamweaver

Hey All-
I did my basic background templater in flash, and i want to
bring it into dreamweaver to finish my site. But when i hit the
Flash icon in DW, and insert the file, it doesnt read right. I get
a little grey box with the F in it, and a black border of where the
image should be.
Any suggestions on what i might be doing wrong?
Thanxs in advance!!
-Liz

if its just a simple image.... just upload the image file and
do a bg image code
, simple and should work..... if its a image

Is it possible to "crop" flash file in Dreamweaver, for
example I want to eliminate the white margin on the left side of
    the swf file.
Do I have to change the original file (in Flash). Please help

In the embed tag, add wmode="transparent"...this will make
the white match your background color. It will not resize the

  • Need help: enter flash file in Dreamweaver site with dark background

    Hi,
I've entered a SWF in a dreamweaver site with a dark blue
background. When you view the site in a browser there is a white
square (the size of the flash file) that flashes up for a second
before the file starts loading. This is rather ugly and I was
wondering if anyone knew how to avoid this white square from
    flashing up.
I already tried making the table background dark blue and
adding a dark blue square as a background image, but that has not
    made any difference.

    Hi Horus,
Thank you for getting back to me. I found it, and tried it.
But still does not seem to make a difference. This is what the code
    in dreamweaver now looks like:

Did I enter it correctly? (I also tried it as <param

  • Missing flash files with Dreamweaver CS3

my uploaded site (which works fine when I preview before
uploading) 'ignores' all flash animations once uploaded... the
flash files are on the servers... is there a script I am missing? I
usually use a separate FTP program for synching... the root and
server folders are identical (so it seems)... help! Otherwise, the
site is the way it should be.

I'm having the exact same problem here:
    http://www.stjohnsgeorgetown.org/
There's supposed to be a flash file at the top of the page, which
isn't showing up. I tried changing the URL to an absolute path and
    it doesn't work. HELP!

  • How to incorporate swf flash files into dreamweaver

    Hi,
In my index.html I have a table with some flash buttons and
    movies in.
I have linked directly to the swf, and when previewed it
works fine. When I upload it to my host server the html page
appears blank with no flash movies.
So do I have to point to the flash html file? insead of
    directl to the swf?
    Thanks

It's not OK. It won't work at all.

  • Flash File Issue

I have a page with a flash file.  I can preview the flash file in Dreamweaver but when I upload everything, its not there.  I have tried moving the file to a different location and renaming the flash file.  I have also tried deleting the flash file on the webserver and reuploading it.  I have Dreamweaver CS3.

    Hi,
because you can (qoute:) see in your preview the flash file in Dreamweaver, but when I upload everything, its not there, so I have to ask you:
Did you do really all the required DW-steps? In order you could control this I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from my German DW):
    Create a new subdirectory.
    Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
    Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
    width 640 ( it's my choice)
    height 480 ( it's my choice)
    I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one:
    YourFlv.flv
    YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
    Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
    FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf
Back to my start: You can see your file in preview, cause in your harddisk-DW-directory all these files exist.

  • Layering and locking a h.264 movie on top of a flash file

Let me start by apologizing. My Flash skills far outdo my
DreamWeaver abilities, so I'm pretty new at the program.
I have run into a problem that has forced me back to DW and
that is for the video quality I need, I have to use Apple's H.264
codec; however, I cannot embed this in Flash like the flv's that I
was using. So my question is: Can I layer a .mov file on top of a
Flash file in Dreamweaver and lock it's position so that they stay
together? It seems that this is what Hollywood is doing with their
movie trailers on their websites. I would really appreciate any
    feedback on this.

The standard solution is to set wmode="transparent" and <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> in your embed/object html, but that only helps to fix the problem in win/IE. The problem has been there on Adobe's own home page for years. If you're unlucky enough to use a Mac there's no effective solution for this problem.

  • Links on Flash Files

Is there anyway to add links to flash files in Dreamweaver.
For example - I created a flash file that tranistions through a few
different images. I placed it on my home page in Dreamweaver and I
want people to be able to click the flash animation and go to
another page within my site. Is there anyway to do this within
Dreamweaver or do I have to place a url link in my Flash
    file?

    Yeah. I see now.

Flash files will not display in Dreamweaver or in any
browser. If I insert a Flash button, text or other file, when I hit

file never displays. In the Property Inspector, the file is always

You will have to rename the hard drive for dreamweaver to
    work properly.
The ' is causing dw to not find the path.
other symptoms would be dw nagging that the "homepage" is not
    within the
local site folder so it can't build a sitemap.

  • Editing a swf file with Adobe Flash cc or Dreamweaver

    Hi,
I have a .swf file which is embedded in to a html file, I need to make changes in the swf section of the file which Dreamweaver can not help me with it.
I tried to click on the swf file and take it to Flash cc, but still I can not edit and make changes.
If I dont have the fla files, I can not edit the .swf file at all?
I have all the applications of the creative cloud but couldnt find any of them helpful in this matter.
    Is there any help?
    Thanks,

I have no experience with any decompilers beyond possibly attempting to trial one once.  The only one I have seen recommended is made by Sothink.
Here is a link to a page with a tool that has an interface you can use to determine various properties of an swf file, including the Actionscript version.

  • Dreamweaver 8 templates not displaying flash files

    Dear friends:
I have developed an interactive banner with animation and
links using Flash 8. I imbeded the banner into a Dreamweaver 8.0.2
document and published it to test the banner. Everything worked
just fine. I then saved that document as a template and created my
editable regions. When I ran the preview, everything was still
working well, I then created a new HTML documant using that
template and published it. I found that the HTML page elements
posted just fine but my Flash banner would not load. The browser
kept trying to load the file and stated, "one item remaining" in
the status bar indefinately. I have never run into this problem in
the past and the only thing that that I have changed is adding the
new active control plugin for Flash and updating Dreamweaver to
8.0.2. Any assistance you could lend would be greatly appreciated,
    Kindest Regards,
    Mr. Grey

What you will have to do is to delete and then remake this
    inserted Flash
element, and make sure you use a ROOT RELATIVE link to the
    Flash, rather
than a document relative one. That would make your code look
    like this -
    ,'width','770','height','284','src','/assets/hfcchome','quality',
    and it will then work.

Flash files created with Captivate which contain rightclick

Thanks for any advice on this!!!

I hope there is one person out there who can help me with
    this issue.
I have started from scratch and created a blank html with
dreamweaver and inserted the flash file (with right click
    animation) created with Captivate.
Then I made the adjustments as per Heinz and also included a
ID=Captivate1 as the RightClick.js refers to that.
The main difference between this html file and the html file
created with Captivate, is that the Captivate one also has
    writedocument bit.
Anyway, is there anybody in the world who can give me
    atip/hint/suggestion?????

  • Importing Flash Catalyst file into Dreamweaver

Is it possible to import or use a swf file created in Flash Cataylst into Dreamweaver?
    stevent2011

Yes, Flash Catalyst content can be used in Dreamweaver. However, the version of swfObject might be out of date. You might need to look at the object code in the html. When you publish from Flash Catalyst, there is also a main.html file that you can use a reference for the html.
