Flash Fill Patterns

How can I designate that when an object is rendered instead
of a solid color it uses a pattern?
We are using flash and XML to render a web graphic
dynamically in real time based on a user query. If the results of
the query address their needs versus what they own those areas of
need that are addressed are filled with color. But in some cases
the results will provide coverage, in some areas, that duplicates
what they already have, meaning there is overlap. In those
situations for those coverage areas of the graphic we want to fill
the rectangle or shape with a pattern such as a cross hatch or
diagonal lines. This will allow someone to easily discern that the
coverage area is redundant or duplicates something they already
have. Also, this way, by using a pattern when it prints out in
black and white the duplicate areas will have a different
appearance then the other covered areas that are solid filled. Can
this be done using Flash? Any suggestions on how? Thanks.

Printing fill patterns with Acrobat 8 pro & reader

When I export a freehand 8 or 11 drawing with colored fill
patterns to pdf using export or distiller, it looks correct in
Acrobat 8 professional and reader, but it doesn't print the fill
patterns in color. They come out black & white. I don't wan to
use a PS printer since most of the people I sned the pdfs to don't
have postscript. This didn't happen with earlier versions of
Acrobat. Any ideas to fix this problem?

It would either be Acrobat or Reader, not Acrobat Reader (that went about after AA 5). Reader XI can be run with AA 8, but you may periodically have to tell it which to open a PDF with. Using both can mix up the OS as to which it should use. That is the main problem I am aware of. If you meant Acrobat XI, then there may be an issue with the print drivers. You may have to play some file name changes and such for Acrobat 8 before you install Acrobat XI if that is the case, but the name changes may cause other issues based on how you are using the software. If it is AA XI, I would check to be sure that this version is not compatible with your CAD before trying the 2 version route.

Cannot use new fill pattern scripts for Photoshop CC 2014.2

I have installed Photoshop CC 2014.2 (2014.2.0 Release), but am unable to get the new Fill pattern scripts to work or even show up in the UI. Namely, I am referring to the Flame, Picture Frame, and Tree scripted patterns described here: https://www.adobe.com/technology/projects/DecoScriptedPatternsInPhotoshop.html

I have tried resetting Photoshop's preferences; and while everything was reset, the missing presets still failed to appear.

If you are talking about CC 2014 and not CC, have you updated to
Adobe Photoshop Version: 2014.2.1 20141014.r.257 2014/10/14:23:59:59 CL 987299 x64?

Problem with fill pattern in oracle reports 11g

Hi all,
regardless of the fill pattern we use, on paper lines with a fill pattern appear completely black
no longer using a fill pattern is not an option as we have > 200 reports (migrated from 6i) that use them
running such a report from the builder choosing paper layout does show the report output correctly on our development PCs
development PC OS : XP
WLS 10.3.3 (32 bit)
Reports builder 11.1.1.3.0
server : Win 2008 64 bit
WLS 10.3.3 (64 bit)
report output is PDF
the way we work when a user prints a report, the pdf is created on the reports server and then send to the client using webutil and then the report is printed using Adobe Reader 9.3.2
any ideas ?

When I export a freehand drawing with colored fill patterns to pdf using export or distiller, it looks correct in Acrobat 8 professional and reader, but it doesn't print the fill patterns in color. They come out black & white. I don't wan to use a PS printer since most of the people I sned the pdfs to don't have postscript. This didn't happen with earlier versions of Acrobat. Any ideas to fix this problem?

This is best asked in the Freehand forum (if you want help with your
export) or the Acrobat forum. This forum is for problems with using
Reader, not in creating pdf files. When you repost, describe your
workflow explicitly together with settings for pdf export or print
settings and Distiller settings. Posting a sample pdf and freehand file
to illustrate the problem would help as well.

Is it possible to scale or move a dash pattern as you would a fill pattern?

I am used to using tilda (~) to scale, move or rotate a fill pattern. I have come across the need to slide my dashed pattern along the line - so that the dashes are not in their default position. I gues I could make a custom brush but ideally there would be a more direct way to just slide these guys along...is there?

I am interseted in changing the colors of already installed fill patterns. For example, when I load the swatch of basic graphics (dots) everything is black. How can I change the colors of pre-created fill patterns if their default is black?

Unable to find scripted patterns in edit>fill>patterns (trees, e.g.) as demo'd in Adobe tutorial. Using PS CC 2014 (latest) and Yosemite. My dialog box doesn't match that shown. Any help? Thanks.

Paint Bucket Fill Pattern

Hello, I have CS5 extended. I know with corel draw I can use a paint bucket to fill an area with a premade pattern and on CS5 I found the pattern stamp tool where I can paint a pattern but is there a way to dump or fill a set area with a pattern? I find when I paint a pattern even the smallest mistake of painting a section twice can lighten or darken the pattern.
Any advice on filling an area with a pattern?

There are several ways including making a selection and using a pattern fill layer, Edit>Fill>Pattern or the paint bucket tool set to pattern

Help needed with hatches and fill patterns

Hi,
I'm trying to do an architectural drawing of a building in illustrator. I have the geometry set up in rhino and exported it but I now need to add the brick and pavement patterns to the geometries But I've no idea how to do it accurately?
I'll attach the drawing as a jpeg as is now so you can see what I mean. Excuse the messiness, still very much a work in progress

envelope distort might be teh easiest way.
you could also try using the perspecting grid, but matching the plane can be a pain and sometimes the forshortening is completely the oppositie of what it should be.
so i'd do envelope. draw the face you want to fil. draw a square with the same proportions of the face you want to fill. fill that square with your pattern at the size that they should be. move that square behing the shape of your plane. then make envelope distort with obejct on top.
mask out the holes in the shape as needed with a clipping mask or solid shapes.
play with the envelope handles to adjust for perspective foreshortening.

Flash fills up /tmp then crashes

Hi, I have a problem with flash where it will fill the /tmp folder when streaming a playlist in full screen and inevitably crash as a result of this. I usually just put on a playlist and fall asleep to it and it sucks when it crashes every 3-4 videos and I'm still awake and have to get up and reload the page and find which video I was watching etc.
Is there any solution to this that doesn't involve resizing /tmp to a ridiculous size just to outlast the gigabytes of data I stream over the night? Thanks.

If you disable /tmp in the ways Jasa explained it means nothing will be mounted on /tmp so your root filesystem will be used to store whatever you put in /tmp (so almost certainly the HDD). If you want stuff to stay in RAM you should mount a tmpfs on /tmp. This is what systemd does by default, but it is too small for your use, then you might want to override it by putting an entry in /etc/fstab with an explicit size= option setting it to something bigger (in this case you might also want to add some extra swap so you don't risk running out of RAM).

Flex Image Fill Patterns

We have built a flex image manipulation application however
are having difficulty with the following feature.
We are trying to fill an existing image background area with
a fill tool this has been accomplished. However, when we attempt to
import (animated gif converted to swf) and fill/flood certain areas
with this animation the fill is very sloppy and not clean. Any
suggestions? This feature is really kicking our butts. I will even
pay big for help!!!!!!!!

Please provide more details as which content you are using with image fill ? rectangle , widgets , texts etc

Why flash "fill lock " ?

What causes falsh to "fill lock" ? or simply refuses to fill although the object is fully closed. How do I make sure falsh doesn't lock my fill.?

Well after much searching I find that many find that overclocking without sata problems depends upon which PHY chip you have,indicating that it's the external PHY chip which is locked, not the chipset controller. Best overclocking is done on aboards with the Marvell 88sr3020 PHY chip. As I said I thought that was the most logical, especially if you consider that the successful ports are 3 and 4, not 1 and 2, and that they sit next to the marvell chip.
