Flash for 64-bit doesn't install properly, it seems

I downloaded the Flash app for 64-bit from Adobe site. It is installed but won't play at all. The only Adobe add-on I have available is for the PDF Link Helper. I manually installed (and uninstalled) the 32-bit Flash app.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, The only 64bit Flash Player that runs with the 64bit browser is Square, which is still in beta.
The latest shipped(released) version is for a 64bit OS, but the 32bit browser must be used to Install and use.

you have a 13-inch Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. It’s modern enough that it supports booting into Recovery mode. To do so, hold down a Command key and the R key as you start up. It should eventually show a Mac OS X Utilities menu. Select Disk Utility from that menu; when the Disk Utility window appears, select the bootable volume from the left-hand side of the window. (It’s typically called “Macintosh HD”.) When the volume is selected, some buttons will appear on the right-hand side. If it’s not greyed out, press the Verify Disk button; if it is greyed out, or if it reports on errors that it found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu; that will restart your MacBook Pro in its normal mode. With luck, that will be enough to get you to your normal login screen, rather than the white screen.

Flash for 64 bit browsers?

Any word on the development of Flash for 64 bit browsers?
Last I saw from Adobe was a note posted over a year ago saying they
were working on it. 64 bit browsers are really common now.

Am bumping this; is there any support for 64-bit Windows yet?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Updated IM On the Go for Nokia N8 doesn't install

This is a good IM when I had it, but when I install the updated one, it doesn't install for some reason. I tried to remove the old one thinking it might be the cause but it became a misery cause there's no way to install it back & worst i don't have it anymore, horrible! Any help?

Well if you're happy enough with Nimbuzz then good for you. I tend to find i personally prefer Nokia apps over any third party, even if it lacks some features. Speaking of this, Social not only needs FB notifications but the should use the new Ovi Notifications System so they are pushed to the HS like Steve Jobs' iMonster

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Firefox 4: have 4 users and its not working for one. The actual Firefox search bit doesn't load properly: very bare and search doesn't work . However, bookmarks etc seem OK

Have just upgraded to Firefox 4 today, and seems OK for 3 out of 4 users, but not for one of us. It's just that bit in the middle with the red fox logo and the search box that don't load properly - looks very bare - and can type into box but nothing happens when press 'search'

Don't know - the bit in the middle of the web page which sounds like the search container!
However, have found a work around - opening up Google and saving that as the home page.

After installing mavericks, office for mac 2008 is slow, unresponsive a lot of the time, and slows my whole mac down if i want to do other things at the same time. Is there a solution that doesn't involve spending loads of money on a newer version of office for mac?

All Good. Are there any pending updates for MS Office by chance? Just check under the Help menu in the top Menu when you open Word.
I highly recommend you to reinstall the latest Office 2008 update > http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36897 Note that Office 2008 is not supported by Microsoft anymore (thanks Mende1 for the link)

Update to FF v7.01 doesn't install properly on one of my normal accounts but works properly on all other user accounts.

Hi folks at FireFox perhaps you know something about this problem:
When I go on 'Help > About Firefox' I get a window which shows: "FireFox 7.01", and now the weird message, a button with "Apply Update" shows. When I click on this button FireFox shuts down and seems to reinstall itself but when I go back on 'Help > About Firefox' it shows the same window with 'Apply Update'. I did all the obvious procedures you mentioned on your help/ support lists but it doesn't change.
It also important that on this normal user account I had always this weird behavior when I tried to update my FireFox browser, so this problem is not specific to version 7.01, I had it before too.
I wished you would have an easy solution for this problem.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml (stores the update history).

Latest version doesn't install properly in Imac and Macbook Air 10.6.8

Flash Player is not working proprly on my Imac nor on my MBA, after installing and reinstalling latest version of FP many, TOO MANY times for the past week.
On most of youtube videos, but not all (i.e. "Dumb ways to die" works!) I get a message that says I need to install the new Flash player. When I go to the link provided, or directly to the Adobe web site, and install the Flash player, I continue to get the message telling me I need a new flash player.
I'm using Safari 5.1.9 and my OS is 10.6.8. Javascript is allowed under the security tab.
When I run the Adobe help for Flash, I get a blank box where I should see my version of flash and my operating system.
I also get the same error in other websites like Google maps, when I try to do a "street view" for example, and TV on demand.
Please Help! Should I revert to installing an older version? I wasn't having this problem until I updated to FP 11.8...

Mount the DMG and run the installer
If it won't run, go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
Empty the trash
Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer again.

Newest Flash plugin 11.5 doesn't install on Firefox 12

The Adobe flash plugin 11.5 on Firefox 12 is not installed. Neither the separate download from Adobe works nor the download for the plugin in the section "addons" or when clicking on "this web page need an additional addon klick here to install".
And several web pages like Youtube, Facebook and others ask for installing the newest flash plugin.

the kb article was NOT helpful - and I thought I am a fool that I cannot just click "download plugin" and have the plugin a minute later.
Three, four firefox restarts later it worked. The clue was somehow that there was a firefox task running or hanging with no user interface preventing the update being applied.
This leaves a bad taste - youtube definitively wants the newest flash because they switched to WebM and some new MP4 things which the old player couldn't do.....

Get with the times Adobe! We need Flash for 64 bit OS!

I HATE using 2 browsers. The 32 bit browser in Win 7 is horrible and crashes to much and leaves 48 instances of it open after its closed. The 64 bit version works GREAT. Get with the times and release a 64 bit version already.

+1 ... using Win7, I use 32-bit browser for Flash content and 64-bit browser for everything that matters.
How about directx 11 support while you're at it... cheers

I can't get itunes to work because quicktime doesn't install properly

I just got an ipod nano, which, as the cd reads, needs the newest version of itunes. itunes, from the cd as well as downloaded from the internet, installs perfectly. Quicktime, however, does not.
When I try to install it in the itunes/quicktime combo, my error message reads "QuickTime installation failed: Error code : -3", and then "1628: Failed to complete installation."
When I download Quicktime on its own, it displays error message 1402, saying it can't access some registry keys, then -1603: Fatal error during installation. Comsult Windows installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.
I'm just so confused, and all I want is to get to my itunes. I hate quicktime now more than ever, since it keeps me from itunes and I DONT EVER USE IT. HELP? ANYONE? PLEASE?

I finally got it to work right. Some files and folders (iTunes video files, etc) were referenced to my iTunes account, I copied from my backup (external) Hard Drive to my system Hard Drive. The only thing that can keep me from accessing my wish list for some time is a very heavy Internet traffic via iTunes players to iTunes Store. So everything is now NORMAL.

Why the new version of itunes for windows is falling to install properly , am I the only one with this problem?
