Flash Freeze on my PC

I, as others on here, am experiencing a problem with Flash completely freezing my computer.  I lose mouse and keyboard control when viewing flash video (such as youtube) or playing flash games (armour games).  It is a bit intermittent, but probably freezes every second or third time I use a Flash enabled video/game.  This disturbes me most because my summer courses for my Masters are online and use Adobe Connect.  The professor uses his webcam during the class and we use microphones to respond and ask questions.  I fear that if I use my PC to connect, I might freeze up and miss class.  For that reason, I have to use my older and slower laptop.  My PC is a fairly new build, but very robust, with no other problems.  Here are my specs:
AMD FX 6100 six-core 3.30 GHz processor
Asus M5A97 mobo
16 Gig DDR3 Vengeance RAM
XFX Radeon HD 6750 graphics card supporting dual monitors
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
I have Driver Genius installed and all drivers are updated.  I also went on the web site for the graphics card and manually reinstalled the newest driver.
I uninstalled Flash 11.2 and installed the new beta, but still got freeze.
I have gone into bios and overclocked, underclocked, and normal clocked the system.  Got freeze on all settings.
I spent a decent amount of money, time, and effort on this system and am severely limited in how I can use it.
I also have gotten the freeze in IE, Firefox, and Chrome, so it is not browser-specific.
Help!
John

Sorry it took so long.  I was waiting for a few things.  First, XFX just told me to disable acceleration, which I had already done, there were some updates that came out last week, I had class again last night.  It froze up 40 minutes into the Adobe Connect session.  Here is the dxdiag info:

  • Flash freezes on Mac G5, dual 2,5 MHz

Ever since I upgraded from Flash MX 2004 Professional to
Flash Professional 8 on my PowerMac G5 it doesn't run. All I can do
    is
open the software but as soon as I click on a menu or a
button, whatever, like changing the size it freezes instantly. I've
searched the forum and every possible place to find any answer that
can solve my problem but it seems like I'm alone with this, I can't
find any information anywhere. I've even tried to un-install and
re-install Flash again but same problem still occur - freezing. Has
anyone had the same problem on a Mac G5 with dual 2,5 GHz
processors, in that case – what did you do to solve the
problem? I'm out of ideas and can't figure out more.
    My specs are:
    PowerMac G5 (2005), dual 2,5 GHz processors
    Boot ROM-version: 5.1.8f7
    Systemversion: Mac OS X 10.3.9
    Kernel-version: Darwin 7.9.0
    1 GB RAM memory
    Apple 20" flatscreen, 1650 x 1050 pixles resolution
Flash Professional 8, upgrade (Flash worked fine before the
    upgrade!)
All other Studio softwares I upgraded run and work great,
    except for Flash.
Please help me, I need HELP!

I also have to add: I can't even click on Preferences in
Flash, nothing. It freezes instantly. It run as long as I don't
touch ANY button or menu in Flash, as soon as I do anything, touch
a menu or button Flash freeze.
Anyone know what to do? Or shall I throw it out and install
an earlier version like MX 2004 Professional, that version of Flash
    worked. Please, please, please... Help.

  • Problem with Windows7 and Adobe Flash freezing computer?

Hello All, There is a problem with Windows7 and my Adobe Flash causing my computer to freeze. So, Skype, videos, etc will not work. Have tried many things to solve problem. Can Oracle VM be used to run a different operating system...such as XP or Vista where Flash will work properly? I would hate to have a new operating system installed on a new computer. thanks

If you mean Oracle VM VirtualBox, then yes, definitely. A free download, it installs and runs great on Windows 7. http://www.virtualbox.org/

  • Flash freezes in Firefox when I scroll the mouse wheel over a drop down list or text field (possibly others as well).

Whenever I scroll in a drop down menu in Flash in Firefox (for example, I move the mouse wheel just one detent), it just continues scrolling on its own all the way to the bottom of the list and freezes all interaction for about 10 seconds.  It's really bizarre.
If I start click and dragging things, nothing happens, and then all of the sudden everything catches up and moves.  As an experienced programmer, I can say that it looks like some kind of queuing of keyboard/mouse events with delayed execution.   Has anyone else encountered this issue?
I found something from 2008 that sounds similar, although I am not using the sIFR they mentioned: sIFR mouse wheel scrolling freeze in Firefox - Stack Overflow
Seems to be a Firefox-specific issue, although it also seems to be something that has just recently started occurring since updating Firefox.
UPDATE:  I was checking my Firefox version in Help > About Firefox, and it showed version 33, but also had a pending update so I restarted Firefox.  The problem was no longer occurring at that point.  When I checked the version again, it said 33.0.2, but it also said "applying update", with another pending restart. I restarted Firefox again.  It's now stable at version 33.1.  So perhaps it was a problem with that particular version, or even a temporary issue with that running browser instance.

    Hi James,
Thank you for sharing your solution with us. It will help other users with a similar issue.
    Thanks,
    Preran

  • Flash freezes

Hi all i have a very annoying issue wit the latest flash version. In this site www4.dollaropoker.com if i open 4 or more widows of firefox (latest version) i have random  freezes of these windows: i can hear the sound but the action in the windows is blocked, and it refreshes just passing mouse arrow on it. I have a Dell studio 1555 and vista home premium with latest hardware drivers istalled. I have this problem in another pc with windows xp. I can remember that moths ago i didn't have this issue.

If you are using Vista htat is just the way of the gun, it works on day and another day it doesn't sometimes you just can't just the updates. If you work on graphics you really shpuld consider moving over to a MAC the operating system is far more trust worthy and you reall deal with a ridicoulsy less amount of trouble. I deal in both and I never have the troubles with OS as I do with Vista. i know that isn't the answer you are looking for but letting you know it isn't you it is the machine. You may just need to wait till the next update comes around and hopefully that will fix it for you.

  • Pages that use flash freeze up in mavericks.

When viewing a page that uses a flash plug-in, the page will freeze after a few seconds of inactivity by me. It will start again if I touch my mouse or track pad over the area, but that's no solution. That's terrible.
I thought maybe it was a new setting, and I unchecked the option to stop plug-ins to save power when possible, but that didn't do anything.
This isn't ruining my life or anything. I'm just playing little flash games like Adventure Quest, and zOMG, but it's irritating.
    Thank you for reading.
    What is the solution?

Go step by step and test.
    1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced >  Delete  All
         Press the "Delete All" button
         Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
        Follow the prompts.
        Quit Safari.
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Internet Plug-ins >  "Allow  plug-ins"
        Enable it.
Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.
    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.
         http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box beside
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
    4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes beside all items.
Check the box beside "Remove all website data".
        Click "Reset".
    5. Turn off Extensions, if any.
        Safari > Preferences > Extensions
         Now try YouTube.
    Best.

  • X205-S7483 Flash,Freeze,Fail

Bottom line I just maxed out my memory and installed two new HDD's on my x205-s7483; I then proceeded to install Win7. After awhile I had a problem getting my Mass Storage Controller installed, I hadn't flashed the bios yet so I then searched for an option; I then discovered a 64 bit solution so I proceeded to flash my bios. As it ran for quite some time (1hr +) it was frozen and not thinking; as I force closed (killed all power + battery pull, power button did nothing by the way total freeze) and now i have nothing but a power indicator the HDD's spin and my CD-rom will too, but no display or Bios. I have seen some links to BIOS recover disks, a UK site has one but it’s like 7 or 8 bucks American and I don’t know if it would do anything; it says no matter the operating system it will recover BIOS… really?. Anyone have options or ideas, I figure my bios is gone now but i have no idea of the options available to me if this is the case. Thanks in Advance, Jinsama

Most places charge about $100 or so to fix it and the turn around time depends on where you take it or send it.  Some places can get it back to you in about a week while some places are taking much longer.  If the system is dead it's impossible to load a bios repair disk to fix it.  That is caused by bios coders who don't know what they are doing.  PROPER bios code requires that the boot block remain seperate from the rest of the bios to avoid an issue like this.  It isn't supposed to be touched during a bios flash.  These days people are in too much or a hurry and just write the bios file and updater to flash the entire bios chip and when the flash fails there is no boot block to fall back on preventing one from reflashing the bios without an eprom burner.
Also, if you ahve used a Windows based flash utility successfully in the past you were lucky.  I've rarely seen it work correctly, and when it goes bad there is NO way to do anything about it.  With a self booting disk based flash utility, especially a FLOPPY disk one there is normally a chance to save a flash going bad if one is prepared for it.
As far as 64bit support, that has as much to do with the chipset venders as it does with Toshiba.  64bit is fairly overrated at the present time.  Most users are better of with 32bit at this time, especially on laptops.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Flash videos and things that use flash freeze firefox completely.

Well, whenever I open a flash player, or something like that, most things that use flash player as a plugin, it freezes my firefox, and then, after awhile it may or may not say a script is causing problems yadda yadda.

If you are running Flash 11.3, try disabling the new protected mode, since that feature is currently being debugged. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Flash freeze after hibernate Windows 7

My flash in firefox always freeze/crash after I hibernate my computer. I noticed this problem on my 3 computers I have, and it happens everytime I hibernate. Here is the procedure, I watch a youtube clip, hibernate your computer but DO NOT close firefox. After awke from hibernate, I tried start watching another youtube video. And just within 15 seconds, you will notice the whole firefox freezed. Currently, the only solution is to manually kill plugin-container.exe from your task manager. I am pretty sure the problem is flash not firefox, because after awake from hibernate, if I only browser pages without flash, it will not freeze. Firefox only freeze until I start watching youtube, or go on any site contains flash. This problem has been there for many years, is Adobe even realized the problem? Any solution?
All my setups are the newest:
Windows 7 64-bit, full upgraded as of today
Firefox 10.0 (problem happened on 9.0 also)
    Flash 11.1.102.55

    Hi cpthk,
Thanks for the report.  I just tried this out on two different desktop Windows 7 64 bit systems (same version of Firefox and Flash Player) but couldn't reproduce the problem.  I tried both hybrid sleep and hibernation, but in all tests YouTube videos (along with other flash videos) continued to work in Firefox after bringing the computer back online.
You mention that this occurs with all three of your computers.  Are there any hardware similarities between them?  I'd like to get additional information from you, would you mind taking a look at the following FAQ which details what we'll need and where to report this issue?
How do I report a Flash Player crash to Adobe?
I'd like to recommend anyone else who is locking up, specifically after coming back from hibernation (or sleep) to post back on this thread so I can get a feel for how common this is.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Flash freezes when expending to full screen

Hi, I am using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, IE9. (I have also tried reverting back to IE8 but the issue persisted)
    The problem is this:
When I expend the flash player on YouTube and many other websites to full screen there is a 2 - 3 seconds freeze before the player eventually goes to full screen. The voice keeps playing in
those couple of seconds while the player sort of freezes.
It is super annoying and I have no idea how to fix it - I tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash several times with no avail. The Issue happens only in IE and Firefox (I just installed it to try) - I have Chrome installed and the player expends to full screen without an issue. Maybe it doesn't happen in Chrome because it has a built in Flash Player that's not dependent on what is installed on the PC.
I have created a new partition and installed Windows 7 there and the issue doesn’t occur so the hardware is fine and it’s not a widespread issue or a bug with flash in general or YouTube player in particular. I have also tried to replicate all the Registry tweaks and some other things that I thought could cause the issue but the issue still doesn't occur in the new OS (I can't just switch to that OS because it would take weeks to reinstall everything from my current OS there).
The issue doesn't occur with the Silverlight either.
Examples to sites that the flash player used in them that work bad: YouTube, Engadget (with videos embedded from YouTube and the built in player (for example here),
And then - there are other websites that I don't remember them all that IE has no problem expanding flash players to full screen – LIKE THIS IN ENGADGET USING THEIR BUILT IN PLAYER – unlike with most other places in Engadget that their built in player doesn’t expand without a freeze. And here is an example of a YouTube player that expends fine.
Please help me - I don't know what to try and I don't remember what I installed or did to cause this - what can be the possible cause.
    Thanks

    Hi Nong,
    What the heck is VDO???
Open Console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & next startup for clues.

  • Flash freezes up everytime it saves the file

When I have a file with more than 30 keyframes it starts freezing every time I save the file or it auto saves. The more I work the longer it takes to save the file. This interrupts my work to an extremely frustrating level.
Is there a reason for this?
I'm not working on a super powered machine but I don't think I should have this problem. I have:
    -Surface Pro (First gen)
    -Windows 8.1
    -i5 1.7GHz
    -4 GB RAM
    -128 GB HDD (80 available)
    -Flash CC 13.1.0.226
Is there a setting in Flash or Windows 8 that I can change to fix this problem?

I am sorry, it is very difficult to understand exactly what you are asking.
When you download files from your camera to Photoshop they are large, several megs.
JPEG's coming directly from a camera for the most part have very little compression applied to them as so are much larger file size then an editing application would save them as.
Now if I am understanding correctly you are attempting to compress the images to 740 k or less per image.
When you choose the save the file, choose file>save as and choose jpg from the drop down and select OK.
You will get a box with jpeg options, it is from that box you can select in the image options section  the amount of compression you want applied to the JPG the more compression the smaller the file size. keep in mind too much compression starts to produce jpeg artifacts and distortions so not too much compression.

  • Flash Freezes in Mac browsers

Flash video freezes after approximately 11 seconds in both Firefox and Safari.  I am running 10.7.5 - uninstalled, reinstalled Flash, cleared caches, changed all the Flash setting (quite a pain), re-booted - all to no avail.  I called Apple Support and they were very quick to send this problem to Adobe.  What gives?  Does Flash just not work with Mac?  Is Adobe working on the problem?  Is there a fix that works?  Checking out the various forums, it appears that this problem has been around for about 6 months or so and nothing works to fix it.  Should I try an earlier version?  Install Chrome?  Give up?

This is definitely not a common behavior.  Everyone I know on the team has both a Mac and Windows system and rigorous testing is performed with each platform (and different flavors of the OS).
Sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5 video
    Non-HTML5 video
If this does appear to be specific to Flash, please see this FAQ for details on how to open a bug report and what data we'll need.
How do I troubleshoot and report problems with Flash Player Video?

  • Flash Freezes up on frequent calls to XMLSocket.OnXML event handler.

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to plot data received in real time on my chumby device which supports actionscript 2. Flash however freezes due to the high data rate of my application. Does anyone know of a way to avoid freezing up the GUI due to the seemingly intensive socket communication?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello everyone -
Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my  Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS.  I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers  -  IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers?  the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above.

  • Flash Freezing Constantly

As of today, Flash CS3 is freezing on me at pretty much every
occasion. Opening a file, clicking on an object...doing pretty much
anything. The freeze consists of getting the beach ball of death
for 3-4 minutes, then the program returns to normal...until I click
    on anything again.
It was working without a hitch yesterday. I've now completely
removed and reinstalled it and I'm still facing the same issue. Any
    ideas?

That's interesting, it's actually a super rare hang (79 in the last 28 days).  Firefox's hang detection eventually times out and kills the plugin, which is where the crash dialog comes into play.
It would be useful to have your system details.  I know there's one oddball GPU chipset that Apple used that suddenly appears to be super flaky in Yosemite.  I'm pretty sure we're going to end up blacklisting that hardware in an upcoming release until the driver issue gets resolved.  I'm wondering if this is the same hardware.
Could you post the details from Apple > About This Mac > System Report (Choose FIle > Save from the menu at the top).
If you don't what to post that level of detail publicly, feel free to send me a PM with it.  Just click my name.
    Thanks!
