Flash Freezes when doing simple Shape Tween

I tested this in Flash 5 before I brought it over to Flash
CS3 and am very concerned about the results.
I have an object that has been created on the stage and is
not a library item. I am creating an animation with no action
scripting that will be converted to a mov file and the end use will
be a video played on tv.
I have three keyframes, spaced out at 1, 5, and 10 frames.
Frame 10 has 10 nodes in the object, frame 5 has 8 nodes, and frame
1 has 7 nodes. I put my playhead on any frame in between the
keyframes, and cntl+click for the pop-up menu, from which I select
'Create Shape Tween'. Flash creates the tween, but when I attempt
to save or move the playhead (with either the 'return' key or the
short cut keys) the program throws up the 'beach ball' which spins
for over 5 minutes, making me 'force quit' the application.
Other aspects of this project are that I have several layers
(all of which are hidden [the 'eye' turned off] during testing),
contained in a folder. No other animation has been applied to any
other objects.
I am running an iMac with version 10.4.11 and have had no
other problems with the application.
Is there a fix I can download? This seems to be a programming
problem.

tools, such as the Gradient Transform tool.

Simple Shape Tween always causes Flash to freeze (CS3)

Flash CS3 Professional is always freezing when I create a
simple shape tween. The steps that I follow to produce this problem
are as follows:
Draw a line
Bend the line into a curve.
Set a second keyframe on the timeline. (doesn't matter how
many frames between the two keyframes)
Use the direct select tool to reposition the point at one end
of the line.
Set the tween to Shape between the two keyframes.
Scrub the timeline.
Flash freezes.
According to the Windows XP Task Manager, the CPU is at 50%
with most of that going to flash.
Any ideas on how to get it working properly?
I can do the tween successfully without issue using Flash 8,
but CS3 freezes everytime. Our company won't let us upgrade to CS4
at the moment.

i can't duplicate that problem.
if the problem occurs when you scrub the timeline, don't
scrub it. test it in the test environment. you may be able get your
tween working doing that (even though that doesn't solve the
problem).

I've changed preferences and that did not work and i tried hitting shift+command and option at start up of program and that did not fix the problem either.

We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
Plug-in installation instructions:
1. Close Photoshop Elements
2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
• For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
• For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.

Dreamweaver crashes/freezes when doing find in site

When I use "find" it works fine for a single document but, if I choose "find next" after setting the search to the entire site (or a folder), it performs the search and starts to bring up the correct file, then it crashes. Behavior is the rainbow wheel of death indefinitately. I have to force quit and restart.
I have reproduced this about a dozen times.
I quit DW, trashed my cache file, emptied the trash, and restarted. This has made no change. I have no add-ons of any kind.
I have quit out of other programs and run DW with plenty of RAM available. When it freezes I look in Activity Monitor and can see that RAM is still very available and CPU usage is high, but not excessive. The DW program is unavailable. I've tried waiting out the freeze but it doesn't end.
So far, I have had no problems with DW doing other things. Not even when I open 20+ files at once and available RAM is a tiny sliver. In that case, I get freezes that last a few seconds, and the program is slow, but everything still works.
I searched extensively for other reports of this bug and found nothing about the find feature but that CS5.5 seems to be unstable and crashes a lot. Some reports have linked crashes to using FTP so I tried running find without first using FTP and it makes no difference.
I need to update a website with hundreds of pages and it's really untenable to search for broken links and outdated text by hand.
Running CS5.5. I just got this a couple weeks ago but I previously ran CS3 and could use find in the entire site (the same site actually) just fine.
I have an iMac 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2.5GB RAM. Running OS 10.5.8.
I've got to have this feature working. Please help.

Okay, so here's the question, what is causing find to hang like this? It's not something stopping the file from opening or being searched. I will gladly remove any bad code or whatever it might be, but some of these files are huge (like 100 pages if printed). I'm fixing code DW is marking as bad but that doesn't seem to be enough.
Yes, that is the question! I have no idea, but sounds like you are on the right path to finding out....
In the DW Reports panel, there is a tab called "LINK CHECKER".
Under "Site: Reports..." there is no link checker anywhere. I found nothing else called reports.
What is the search string you are using?
A variety of things: lanmind, lmi.net, lye, chemical.
Have you tried making fragments of those files to see if you can identify the block of code that causes the freeze?
I just tried it. I took one of the smaller affected files (I tested as many as I could (it only will cause a freeze if the search term appears in the file) and found 8 "bad" files) and broke it into two halves, using the same header and footer for each. The original filename is y.htm. I broke it into y-test-1 and y-test-2. 1 was fine, 2 was bad. I then broke 2 into two files, y-test-3 and y-test-4. And they're both okay!! WTH.
I noticed that the source code had some bolded text. It shouldn't be bold there, just in the display, and it was pretty random. But there were 3 parts to the file (annotated links) with some bolded source text. These appeared in y-test-4. I used save-as to create the test files, not cut and paste. Yet y-test-4 does not freeze up.
When I deleted the 3 annotated links from y-test-2, it stopped freezing when being pulled up during a search (I highlight one or more files, making sure they are not already open, and choose "Find in: Selected files in site"). I deleted them one at a time and it wasn't until I deleted the last one that it made a difference. Then I put back the first two and left the third one out. And the file is okay.
But I still can't figure out why. There is random bolded source code in most of the files (all?), including those that don't give me any trouble. There are some weird symbols in this link, but they exist in other files that are fine. Hmmm...maybe not so fine. I'm now deliberately trying files using keywords that I know are in there. As opposed to looking for the outdated domain names like before.
It would really help if someone could give me a list of "bad" symbols or something. And what does the bolded text mean? And yes this is a BUG on Dreamweaver's part. The files open just fine and they display fine in Firefox. I can use the "find all" function when doing a sitewide search, even the "bad" files will be listed correctly, and then open the files manually. If the "bad" file is open, I can search within it no problem. The only thing I can't do is a sitewide (or selected files) search on files that are not open. The "bad" ones will cause Dreamweaver to freeze as they automatically open.
So yes, I've found a workaround, but that doesn't mean there isn't a bug and that I don't want it fixed. And the website I'm updating is really old with a lot of the work done in 1999. It's for a nonprofit, it's very very important to keep the pages mostly as is, and I'm taking over from someone who recently passed away. I am revamping things considerably, but, aside from fixing outdated links, I need to work with what's there and keep a "legacy" version. I'm porting the info to a blog format but it will take months. (And yes, this particular link is not important but it's the example I have to work with.)

There are dollar signs elsewhere that seem to be okay but I'm not sure. That seems to be the only weirdness I can find.
Any comments? Are dollar signs (in links, not in text) bad? I tried another file and found only one dollar sign in it in a link. I removed it, saved and closed the file, and did a search on it. And it froze. So if dollar signs are bad, then they aren't the only things.

MBP freezes when doing too much and cmd-tabbing

My MBP sometimes freezes when I am doing a bunch of stuff on my laptop and then I cmd-tab to another application. When I say my laptop freezes, I mean that the system is frozen, keyboard input does not work, but moving the mouse DOES work (even though clicking on anything doesn't do anything.) I have to do a hard reset to get out of this, meaning I press and hold on the power button until the computer shuts down.
Any suggestions as to how I can fix this? I've encountered this numerous times, typically once a week usually. It actually seems like it happens during times when I am cmd-tabbing very rapidly (i.e. when doing web development, I will cmd-tab to my browser, refresh, cmd-tab to my text editor, etc. but how can this freeze my powerful system?! I only typically use about 1.5 GB of the RAM).

If there any pattern to what applications you have open when you get the freezing? You will probably find it's an application rather than the application switcher itself. Also, check your Dashboard widgets. If you are using 3rd party widgets try closing them and see if the problem goes away.
You can also try deleting your Finder preferences by dragging the file…
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
… to the Trash (don't empty it just yet) and then immediately restarting and see if that makes a difference.

Flash freezes when expending to full screen

Hi, I am using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, IE9. (I have also tried reverting back to IE8 but the issue persisted)
The problem is this:
When I expend the flash player on YouTube and many other websites to full screen there is a 2 - 3 seconds freeze before the player eventually goes to full screen. The voice keeps playing in
those couple of seconds while the player sort of freezes.
It is super annoying and I have no idea how to fix it - I tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash several times with no avail. The Issue happens only in IE and Firefox (I just installed it to try) - I have Chrome installed and the player expends to full screen without an issue. Maybe it doesn't happen in Chrome because it has a built in Flash Player that's not dependent on what is installed on the PC.
I have created a new partition and installed Windows 7 there and the issue doesn’t occur so the hardware is fine and it’s not a widespread issue or a bug with flash in general or YouTube player in particular. I have also tried to replicate all the Registry tweaks and some other things that I thought could cause the issue but the issue still doesn't occur in the new OS (I can't just switch to that OS because it would take weeks to reinstall everything from my current OS there).
The issue doesn't occur with the Silverlight either.
Examples to sites that the flash player used in them that work bad: YouTube, Engadget (with videos embedded from YouTube and the built in player (for example here),
And then - there are other websites that I don't remember them all that IE has no problem expanding flash players to full screen – LIKE THIS IN ENGADGET USING THEIR BUILT IN PLAYER – unlike with most other places in Engadget that their built in player doesn’t expand without a freeze. And here is an example of a YouTube player that expends fine.
Please help me - I don't know what to try and I don't remember what I installed or did to cause this - what can be the possible cause.

Help! no response when doing SIMPLE query!

I meet a strange problem when I do a SIMPLE query on a table in Oracle 8.1.7, just like:
SELECT id FROM person WHERE id='12345';
Most of id values are ok to the query, except some values.
Whether I use these values in sqlplus or JDBC, mostly, no response is returned!! And I find the session in Oracle always keeps the status 'Active'. But in few scenario I can get the result quickly.
I don't know the reason. Help me please!

I'm not sure if the 'id' column contains something else.
When I shutdown and restart the database, the problem seems to be "solved". If the problem reoccurs again, I will try to use xTRIM functions.

ERROR MESSAGE WHEN DOING SIMPLE QUERY TO RETRIEVE LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA

Am querying my database(mysql) and displaying my data in a
DataGrid (Note that am using Flex 2.0)
It works fine when the amount of data populating the grid is
not much. But when I have large amount of data I get the following
error message and the grid is not populated.

Macbook Pro Retina CPU Overheating when doing simple tasks?

I've had my Macbook Pro w/ Retina since July 2012 and for about a month now (starting in November) the CPU Die - Digital has been getting EXTREMELY overheated. It has gotten up to 210 degrees F which is way past the damaging level of CPU but the real kicker is that it happens when I have a few tabs open in safari and a couple other minor programs open (Mail, Finder, App Store, Skype, iTunes). It's not like I'm running Skyrim, LoL, and Starcraft while running background tasks in Fincal Cut X and Motion V?? I mean I have 16GB of ram and only 5 or 6 of it is in use so it's not a problem with multitasking and processing power also shouldn't pose much of a threat for a few tabs in a browser and some low usage programs. I use iStat Menu's and I took a screenshot just now of it in the 180's when it was recently in the 190's. I also checked the disk utility and I can't see anything in the CPU usage that would make it work that hard.
My questions are am I doing something wrong? Is there something I'm missing? Is my laptop defective and in need of refurbishing using Apple Care? Is this happening to anyone else?

Turn off Skype and see if that has any affect. Skype is is a notorious heat generator.

Itunes freeze when doing iphone backup

When trying to sync my iphone, itunes froze at the back up stage and I was unable to complete the backup or sync process. I was unable to close itunes and I had to unplug the iphone and turn off the computer. WHen trying again the next day, the same thing happened. I later found that all my music had been wiped from my iphone. Luckily contacts and diary are still there. I've done virus checks on my computer and it seems to be ok. Any suggestions?

Itunes Freezing when doing anything!

I have an Itouch (I believe it is a 3rd generation.) I tried to sync it to Itunes (latest version) but it keeps freezing up Itunes.
Initially I tried to sync and it got stuck in the back up. Since the App icons were white I decided to do a restore to factory settings. That has not helped the freezing issue.
I plugged the Itouch in and it froze for about 5 minutes. It then asked me to set up my Ipod. I typed in the name and hit enter and it is stuck again. Okay, a couple minutes later it is trying to back up. Shouldn't take long because there is now nothing on it.
I am not sure what to do. This is going to drive me CRAZY!
My husband has been able to sync his Iphone without trouble.
I am running Windows 7

Are you using any iTunes Plug-ins/widgets. It sounds as though there is something activating iTunes.
You can see what plug-ins you have by running iTunes diagnostics. (iTunes>>Help>>Run Diagnostics).
If you're using Windows Live Messenger or have it running in the background - uncheck the option to show your current song as your personal message.
As a diagnostic test, you can run iTunes in a special "safe mode" which disables plug-ins.
To open iTunes in "safe mode": Press Control-Shift while opening iTunes

Fans going insane when doing simple tasks and playing WoW?

Hello. I've been playing WoW, starting a new character last week. Until the other day, I could play fine. But starting the other day, the fans would all of a sudden rev up like I've never heard before. My laptop is very powerful, and far surpasses the recommended requirements.
However, when the fan goes crazy, even if I quit the game, and let it stay at my desktop, the fan is still going insane. And I even set all the graphical settings in WoW to the lowest, but it still makes a very loud noise.
And I've owned many laptops with graphic intensive applications running, and the fans never made this sort of noise. Any ideas what may be happening?

I checked my CPU monitor, and my CPU usage is averaging 1-3% at most. And it's been almost half an hour since I quit the WoW application. I even tried restarting. I'm running on the Windows side right now, and my mac side doesn't have any 3rd party drivers or anything installed on it.
On the windows side, I quit processes related to my gaming keyboard and mouse macro programs, since all I do on Windows 7 (in Boot Camp) is play video games. And for the past week I was able to play Mass Effect, without the fan making this noise, and Mass Effect is 10x more demanding than WoW.

Shape Tweening - simple tween doesn't work

I'm thoroughly discouraged with Flash CS3 for the trouble I'm
having with this simple shape tween. Please tell me it's my fault
so that I can get this to work and not think that Flash is dumb.
I'm going from a small circle with a 1 px stroke to a round
cornered rectangle with the same stroke. It looked like it spun a
little during the morph so I added shape hints. I tried a few
different arrangements and none of them really worked. The most
annoying thing is when it looks right no the FLA and then the
export is working correctly - obviously some kind of program
defect.
Shape hints:
- All four corners with A starting in the top left and
continuing around counter clockwise.
- All four sides with A starting on the left side and
continuing around counter clockwise.
- A on left side and B on right side.
They all either still spun funny or completely disappeared
during the morph.
All the hints appeared green and yellow for all arrangements
- no red hints.
In the past I've arranged them in what I would think to be a
random order with the hints appearing red and the dam thing would
actually work.
Just the fact that I have to screw around with shape hints
for this simple tween is silly.
Simple fix here?

Firefox freezes when using "Save link as" or doing anything that needs to browse local file directory?

System: Windows XP, Firefox 17.0.1.

When attaching a file in email, whenever the browsing to other location on the hard drive will freeze firfox, which turns to "not responding"....

Mac Pro Freezes when performing certain Tasks?

My Mac pro has been freezing recently which requires me to hard boot and I'm not quite sure whats going on. Let me go a bit more into detail.
Now when I say freeze, I don't mean beach balling, I mean literally the entire screen is motionless and I must hard reboot. Its odd really, the computer only freezing when doing certain tasks, such as when I render 3D graphics with Cinema4D, or whenever I play certain games on steam.
I have recently installed windows as a partition for bootcamp, but I don't believe that is the issue. I have experienced the freezes while running my machine in both Windows and Mac.
Its important to note that when booting my Mac in SAFEMODE, the freezing does not occur while performing the same tasks. So this leads me to believe there is a process going on thats causing the computer to freeze up?
What I think I have managed to rule out as problems:
- Not a Hard Drive failing issue, I booted from my backup hard drive and the freezing still occurs.
- Not a Heat issue, I've installed iStat and my top temperature barely raises to 60 degrees celsius when freezing occurs.
- Not an issue with the Windows partition, as I booted from my backup drive that is without the partition and the freezes still occur.
- Not a Ram issue, I took my ram cards out and swapped them around.
One other things... Not sure if this is relevant, but upon one of the freezes, I rebooted and got this on my startup screen, It was bizaar and it froze here as well. This only occured once but I snapped a photo of it.
Any ideas? Could it be a graphics card issue?

That panic was not caused by third-party software. If it's a recurring problem, the remaining possibilities are (1) a damaged Mac OS installation; (2) a hardware fault, which could be internal or in a wired peripheral device; and (3) an obscure bug in the Mac OS.
You can rule out the first possibility by reinstalling the Mac OS. Probably there will be no change. In that case, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least two independent backups.) Don’t erase the Lion recovery partition, if present.
