Flash from ONE site won't play

Here's a situation for y'all to ponder:
2 ea Bordermanager 3.8, SurfControl, about 9 total access rules, only
denying access to Gambling, Games, and "Porn."
Users (primarily public library users) are attempting to access a website
to view traffic enforcement FLASH videos from red light cameras here in the
city from citation info mailed to them.
The website requires that the user input the traffic citation number, their
license plate number, and a generic password. Then a non-machine readable
verification code, which then takes them to a webpage with their DOT/DPS
information, and a Flash Player window with a "Play/Pause" button and a
"Reset" button. The link is to a .asp page on the providing server.
Pushing the Play button should cause the flash movie to display, but all it
does is change to "Pause" and the flash screen area remains browser
background white. No video.
Now, with very few exceptions, all VLANs within the network are REQUIRED to
pass thru BorderManager in order to access the internet, there are no NATs
that would allow them to bypass NBM. The workstations on these VLANs
CANNOT display the flash video from, as far as we can tell, only this
website. They can, however, play flash videos from any other site that
we've been able to find: youtube.com, google, etc., with no problems at
all.
Sniffer traces indicate that the request is leaving NBM, passing thru the
PIX, being returned thru the PIX to NBM, and dying. The indication is that
the video is reaching the BorderManager, trying various ports, and not
making it through. HOWEVER, on the VLANs that allow bypassing the NBM, you
see the video trying to pass thru the NBM, being unable to, and even though
the "internet settings" require that the proxy be used, then bypassing the
NBM and reaching the workstation to display the vid.
This is the case even when NOT enforcing access rules.
If anyone has any ideas at all, they would be appreciated.

What is sounds like is that there is a player app that:
1. Tries to play via the proxy and fails, and then
2. Tries going direct, perhaps on another port than 80 - and sometimes works.
This indicates that you have some sort of filter exception allowing the
traffic through BMgr, or have no filters on it at all.
It would be useful to have more information on this, in particular what port
numbers you see being used in the sniffer traces on the outbound traffic.
You have to areas of investigation: Try to get it to work through proxy, or
set up a system to allow bypassing proxy for this site.
The bypass option is generally simple in concept and I see it used a lot on
problem sites. (By the way, if there is some way for the URL to be tested by
the public, it might help to see if others have luck getting to it). In this
option, you have to configure the browsers to bypass the proxy for that URL
with a browser setting. Then you allow the traffic through BMgr via filter
exceptions and NAT, usually. In your case perhaps those controls are done on
your PIX, or on both systems.
To get the site to work through proxy may or may not be possible at your patch
level. (What IS your patch level? See tip #1 at the URL below). Things to
try here involve patches (may need to open an incident with Novell to have
them develop a specific fix for this), proxy.cfg settings (try the one from
tip #63 at the URL below), and browser settings (try HTTP 1.1 through proxy
both enabled and disabled - in the browser and in the proxy.cfg settings).

One album won't play on my iPhone 4S

One album won't play on my iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.3. If select a song and click Play it flashes through the whole album with the play/pause button switching back and forth between play and pause - as though it played the whole album but all the songs were zero length.
I deleted all the songs in the album then re-synced from iTunes - same problem.
The tracks are Apple Lossless (ALAC) as are most of my tracks.
They were ripped from CD as FLAC and converted to ALAC using XLD - the same as with many of my CDs all of which play fine.
All the tracks on the album play OK in iTunes and if I connect my phone to PhoneView I can play the files on the phone so the music files themselves are OK.
Also, most importantly, these tracks used to play fine
Looking at the music file dates in the iTunes library they were imported in August this year so would have been under iOS6. I can't remember when they stopped playing (I tend to use Shuffle most of the time) but could it be related to the iOS7 u/g, even though it doesn't seem to affect any other album?
I've found quite a few threads about non-playing music but none of them are exactly this problem.

I too u/g to 7.0.4 but the problem persisted. I even did a factory reset and restore of my iPhone without success.
I then grabbed a copy of Max and re-converted the FLACs, deleted the album from iTunes and my phone, re-imported the new ALACs et voilà problem solved.
So it seems that it was something to do with the version of XLD I used and playing the resulting ALACs on iOS7 (although the album definitely played a couple of times under iOS6).
The only reason I rip to FLAC then convert to ALAC is that the rMBP doesn't have an optical drive and the only one I have is in a Linux box but I don't think there are any Linux rippers that rip to ALAC.
If Max had failed, the last resort would have been to try and borrow a USB optical drive and rip with iTunes.

I want to move a list from one SharePoint site to another, within the same collection. I have created a template and included the content but the column that is selected to append changes to existing text, has not copied in all cases, although it has for
some items.
I have a limited knowledge so won't be able to implement any solutions that require the use of code.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to copy a list from one site to another that has a column that appends changes to existing text.
I recommend to use the custom workflow activity Copy List Item Extended Activityto
copy list items and files cross site.
You can do this with codeless SharePoint Designer workflows as long as you can install the
Codeplex Custom SharePoint Designer Workflow Activities.
These activities are also built-in to SPD2010.
To install the custom activities, please follow the steps as below:

Copy the wps file to the Disk C.
Open the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell.
Run the command: add spsolution c:\ dp.sharepoint.workflow.wsp

How do I make my banner flash from one photograph to another?

Good day.
I am using Dreamweaver CS5.
My banner of 968px X 280px is a JPG image (photograph) with a logo.
I would like to learn how to make the banner photograph flash from one photograph to another.
Can anyone help me with how to do this or guide me to where I can find a tutorial on this?
Can this be done in Dreamweaver with code, or do I have to do this in another application first?
I have Flash, Fireworks and Photoshop.

It's not jquery that determines the dimensions of your container for your images, you do. The dimensions can be any size. jquery is just a script which alternates the images within the container:

How can I transfer a naviagtion menu from one site to another site?

I have generated a very simple lab web site. http://neurobionet.neurobio.ucla.edu/~feldman/. One page in the main site has a link that takes you to a list of publications (i.e., click on Publications). This page that has the list is really just another iWeb generated site. I would like to have the same navigation menu on both sites. Is this possible? I do not mind mucking around the code if necessary.
Also are there any plans to have simple niceties like anchors incorporated into iWeb? In the same Publications page, it would be great if people could go directly to the year that they wanted to. Right now, the only way to do that would be to generate a separate page for each 5 year grouping.

Hi Mike,
If both sites are WITHIN one iWeb domain.sites file- as in you've created them in the same account and in the same computer - you can drag&drop pages from one site to another.
If they're created on two seperate accounts, you can't. Migrating 2 domain.sites files into one single file would be the outmost nightmare.
The navbar is dynamically created from the available pages. This is cool.
I've got some expertise on modding the templates - i've even created a whole new style navigation-bar and know quite well what can be done.

Workaround...
in iWeb with the site open which has got most of the stuff, create new pages based on copy/paste from a browser.
You still can have two "sites", albeit in 1 account.
BACKUP your domain.sites file before attempting these kind of things.

Hi,
To copy files from one site collection to another site collection, the simplest way is to open document library in windows explorer view.
Go to document library, click library tab, click open with explorer.
You can open the document library1 in explorer then copy the files which you want to paste to another site collection
document library2, then open the document library2 in explorer to paste the documents.

Managed Metadata values scrambled when copying or moving documents from one Site collection to another.

What works: Copy or move a document library containing one or more MM columns *within* a Site Collection = all column managed metadata replicated accurately.
What doesn't work: Copy or move a document library containing one or more MM columns *from one Site Collection to another* within the same Webapp. The issue is that some but not all MM values are totally wrong. By totally wrong I mean that the incorrect
terms are associated with a TermSet that is not even referenced in this DL!
Same result for all method's tried:
1) Save the DL as a template (no contents) and then copy or move the documents in
2) Programmatically do the copy
3) Export the list via CA and then reimporting it using Pshell
This thread is very similar but his workaround has not helped in this instance:

I've got to the root of the issue but in answer to your question first: The MM column is attached to a Global Content Type - there is nothing local.
The fact that some are ok and others are not led me down the route of checking the columns at item level. Scripting this did not help - all rows returned are what I would expect. ie The same MMColName with the expected value (as appearing
on the source DL).
On checking SharePoint manager however I have found what looks to be causing the issue.
When checking the properties (ie SiteCollection/Lists/<ListName>/items/<itemName>/Properties) of the 'good' documents against the 'bad' documents I find the following:
Good Docs: The MMColName is displayed as expected at the item level
Field: Name
Field: Internal Name
Item Properties:
Ok?
Partnership Type
Partnership_x0020_Type
Partnership Type
Y
Bad Docs: The MMColName is NOT displayed as expected at the item level. Instead the internal name is displayed:
Field: Name
Field: Internal Name

I should add that each of these 3 examples are taken from 3 different DL's - hence the different Fields
So this looks to be a case of corruption - and unless we can think of any other outcome we will have to look to rebuild the DL - while trying to maintain the metadata!

If the media that you are attempting to sync plays in iTunes, try removing the preference to sync music as this remove the media from the device. Once this is done, try syncing the media again.

Deauthorizing all is definitely the way to go. You will just need to authorize your computer again after, as well as your husband's.

You tube is fine but Video from other sites will not play in any browser all of a sudden. I have latest version of firefox (16.something) flash and all plug in

I cannot play videos from many sites. Everything was fine up until a few days aago. You tube works fine but others will not. I have firefox 16.something and latest versions of flash. All plug ins are there and enabled. Have read through many support threads and nothing is working. This happens on chrome and ie as well.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
