Flash Galleries capped at 500 images?

It seems that Flash web galleries can't have more than 500 images. What a bummer. I often need to post more fotos than this for clients to see. I prefer to do this in flash as it allows for an extra layer of security for the images being posted to the web. I don't believe HTML galleries have this limitation. Any workaround for this? Would REALLY like to see this changed in future versions.

I consider myself pretty computer literate, but this is not "easy" unless you are a fairly sophisticated user.
Too bad Lightroom couldnt be a little more considerate of it's users. Removing the cap is not going to be a realistic alternative except to very few users.
Bummer. I'm having a total Lightroom meltdown right now as I've done all my editing of the shoot from two days of wedding festivites (almost 4000 images) and I have them down to just over 700 "selects", but now I can't figure out to post them online. Even my html galleries say "capped." ARghhh.

Web galleries of 600-1000 images

I am finding the web gallery solutions offered in Aperture quite limiting. The whole reason I would use the gallery would be to to force the client to do an edit. in version 2 things seemed to work better.
- In version 3 mobileme galleries are now limited to 500 images. I have on occasion split up shoots into tow of these galleries, not quite the professional solution I was hoping for. Version 2 mobile me galleries were not limited to 500 images. When I moved to ver3 and it tried to sync to the existing galleries of over 500 images, it play havoc with everything.
-webpages produced and then published on mobile me, take.... a ... long... time. I currently have had one gallery of 1832 images running for about a day now. Again not very practical for professional application. Needless to say the process hijacks Aperture,so not much else gets done, if it crashes which it sometimes does, we have to start the process all over again.
-the only other option includes outputting low rez and then using something else for the web gallery. But I like the one button solution Aperture offers, making Mobileme justifiably earn it's keep. I don't have the web gallery options in photoshop anymore since they were moved to Lightroom, if I have to lightroom anyway to make web galleries, I might as well stay there.
I hope the Aperture team can take a look at this one area. Otherwise, i am extremely happy with the performance of Aperture 3

Our clients loved the experience and workflow so much that 2 of them now have their own dedicated site that we manage for them, all of their imagery is located in the one place, makes life very easy for them. We have one account that is our studios, ie for everyone one else and my own basic account, mainly for sharing pics from my children's sporting teams.

As for a gallery/lightbox with that many images, no way! I would suggest breaking the shoot up in to time of the day, location, subject, product type, portrait vs group, anything to make it more manageable for the client. Some of your keywording and descriptors would help with this process.

Web gallery max out at 500 images

Hi, I'm using LR 3.5 and when I creat a web gallery it maxes out at 500 images, even though there are 776 photos in the gallery and all 776 are selected. In fact, the image number below the preview shows 1/500 instead of 1/776. When i look at the uploaded website it also only shows 500 images. In Library mode I see all 776 images, and also in Web mode I see all 776. When I switch from Library to Web I see the "Update Web Gallery" in the top left corner of the window. It shows the progress window: "Export image fliename-001" and continues up to image 500, then stops. So it appears it is only exporting 500 images.

Hopefully you appreciated I was being semi serious! Many pros would see part of their job being to whittle a big shoot down to a reasonable number to present to the client, and secondly I'd question if going through a slideshow in sequential order is the best way to review a large number of pictures - better than a grid of decent-sized thumbnails? Those are obviously judgement calls and I don't like a 500 limit being imposed.
Now, to make your updated version survive Lightroom updates:
Copy the Flash gallery's folder
Paste it into Win C:\Users\john\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Web Galleries or Mac Users\john\Library\Adobe\Lightroom\Web Galleries
In galleryinfo.lrweb, change the ID - just add your initials
In galleryinfo.lrweb, change the title to something like "Flash Gallery (edited)"
When you restart LR, you'll see "Flash Gallery (edited)" in the Layout Style panel

Osmf Flash Player will not display images in safari and chrome

In OSMF player, I am using image to display as thumbnail before playing video.
Image is displaying properly in IE and Firefox but I am getting error in safari and chrome.
Error of flash player:

Multiple flash galleries in catalyst

similar version of a question I posted earlier...
I'm using flashcatalyst and importing slideshowpro lightroom galleries (swf files that call xml files). is there a way to have flash catalyst look not just in the root directory for an SWF's xml files? I can't put multiple galleries in one catalyst file, because I can't seem to get it to look for XML files within directories.
either that, or I'd take any solution toward the end of having multiple flash galleries in a single flash site.

Yes, there is a slideshowpro.swf, and a params.xml and images.xml it seems that slideshowpro.swf wants to look in the directory of the html file, not the relative path of the swf, for the xml files. I had a long chat with slideshowpro support about this, and we tried changing the base param within the HTML file, but it didn't inherit itself all the way to the slideshow pro swf. But I digress...
I actually tried almost the same thing already, but not exactly. Tell me if this make sense:
I built the fancy swf in flash catalyst, and imported the swf in flash catalyst. (I didn't wait until flash builder). Then, knowing what little I know about flash builder, I opened the FXP there, and imported the separate folders into the project structure in the left column (I added assets/images/gallery-headshots/slideshowpro.swf, assets/images/gallery-editorial/slideshowpro.swf).
Then, I clicked on the swf in the state I was focusing on, and changed the "source" field in the right column to the *new* location of the swf within the file structure I imported. I did this simply because I didn't know enough about flash builder to import and place an swf asset myself. This didn't work, unfortunately.
Does that make any sense?

Some galleries are displayed via JavaScript, so if they aren't working the make sure that you aren't blocking JavaScript.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).<br />
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Identity Plate TOO SMALL in Lightroom Flash Galleries

In Lightroom Flash Galleries, the size of the Identity Plate is very limited, much smaller than that possible with the HTML Galleries.I've tried reconfiguring the layout,using a different template, using an image for the ID Plate, but the problem persists.
It's a big problem because the Flash Galleries are pretty much useless as is.

Kind of harsh I guess. The Flash Galleries are great except my logo (a simple line of text) can only appear as small type (14pt I'd guess), and only justified to the left. This is visually unacceptable for a site that clients, etc. will go to. So I can't use it for what I need. I guess some might be able to use it, but for what I need to do it is effectively useless. Which is too bad because I like the rest of the Lightroom Web experience a lot.

Multiple lightroom flash galleries in website

Ok, I don't have much experience with html, or any at all with flash, just so we're clear.
I'm attempting to link to different lightroom-created flash galleries within my website. The problem is, when I add the first gallery to the remote (using godaddy ftp client) that link works fine. When I upload the second gallery for a different link, I get the first gallery instead of the second. I'm under the assumption that something within the lightroom-flash files needs to be renamed so the link is a different path for the second gallery. (make sense?) The idea is clicking on a thumbnail on a "galleries" page links to the lightroom-created flash gallery I created with those images.
I'm not attempting to add the .swf to an html editor, just straight upload to godaddy. Can anyone tell me what part/parts need to be changed so each gallery works with it's own images?

You should put different Flash galleries into different subfolders (subdirectories) of your web site, and link to the "index.html" file within each subfolder from your main page.

Web galleries--thumbs and large images not showing after uploading to server

I have created 2 web galleries--one html and one Flash. I saved them to my local drive and they work perfectly. Then I uploaded to our server (I checked to see that all folders/files made it, and they did) and then when I access the index.html file, neither the thumbnails or the full-size images show. In case it helps to see, here are the two URLs

Sean--that did the trick for HTML galleries...thanks! I am working on a IIS server, so I presume your fix and the server are related to the problem I was exeperiencing.
In a Feb 4, 09 reply you posted to someone else, you referenced a link (see below) about making similar file mods to make Flash work, but I couldn't access the link. Any chance you could repost these mods so I can use Flash galleries on a IIS server as well.

Latest flash version will not display images or video

Latest flash version will not display images or video in 2 x Windows 7 Pro 64bit machines, 1 x Windows 7 Home Premiums, and 1 x XP SP3 under VMWare Workstation 7. Problem plagues Firefox, Chrome, and IE on all systems. Also running Norton Security from Comcast on all machines. Disabling does not appear to help. Suggestions?

Not sure, this is the one that I really want to view. I am using the latest 11.6 ending in 168. Curious you got the images. The product ones act like they should be displaying for me but don’t. Can you do a capture of the images? The text with small images sometimes comes through and sometimes not. I wonder if there is a problem on the server end.
When I talk to the Customer Service people they claim to have no reports of problems, but like the sports pro about to be traded, they may be the last ones to know…

Es geht um eine Flash-basierte Hompage:
ich habe mit "Wondershare Flash Gallery Factory Deluxe" eine Flash Gallery (h:400py w:600px) erstellt und als .xml exportiert.
Jetzt wollte ich die dazugehörige swf. als Gallerie-Fenster in einen Catalyst- Status einbauen.Habe die swf. in Catalyst auf den status "Fotos" importiert und dann das ganze Projekt als sef veröffentlicht. Wenn ich dann im run_local die main öffne funktioniert soweit alles, doch wenn ich dann auf den Status "Fotos"
wechsel, dann macht der mir die Gallerie immer als Vollbild über die ganze Seite, so dass kein anderes Element mehr zu sehen ist, sprich auch keine Möglichkeit besteht auf den Start-Status oder irgendeinem Status zurückzukehren.
Wenn ich die zur Foto Gallerie gehörende .html öffne, ist die Gallerie nur auf den angegebenen 400x600px, doch im catalyst eingefügt, projekt als swf veröffentlicht und schon ist die Gallerie wieder auf der ganzen Seite
Jetzt meine Frage:
Wie limitiere ich die Flash-Gallerie auf einen gewissen Bereich?
Oder was muss ich im Catalyst umstellen, damit die Gallerie nicht komplett den Ganzen Status überschreibt?!

Need help changing size and aspect ratio for 500+ images

Thank you for reading this! I have about 500 images of people in different poses. They're all extracted on a transparency as PNGs. They vary in aspect ratio, dimensions and position of the person within the frame - for some the feet are very close to the bottom of the frame and for some, they're higher up. I need to equalize all 3 of these qualities, so that if superimposed, they look like a video unfolding with the same zoom. My ideal size would be 800x800 at 300ppi.
Is there a way to batch even a part of the process and keep the png format? I had the images in PSD initially but they were too massive so creating catalogs with them was prohibitive.
If not possible to do a batch, what would be the best (easiest) and fastest way to do it? I'm thinking that maybe creating some template where an oval shape the size of the head can help create consistency of the size of the person and a line that helps set up the distance from the bottom?
I so appreciate any help you have to offer. Part of my problem is that I don't know what these processes are called so I don't even know what to search for. If you can even name the actions that I need, it would be of great help. I already paid a designer to do the extraction and they were supposed to do this formatting as well and they didn't so my budget is shot. I'm hoping that if I understand what the steps are, I can do them myself.

I'm sure the should work you mane not need the copy paste and it depends on how Photoshop treats the PNG layer the canvas size or just the pixels.

Source files for flash galleries

Does anybody know if the source files for the flash galleries are to be made available as were those for the CS2 galleries? I have mentioned this in another post but thought it appropriate to make a separate post.

They are. However replacing the swf file in Lightroom to generate new galleries on a windows machine is a little complicated (it is easier on a MAC). It was straightforward in CS2 but actually requires a dissembler to work with the template file inside Lightroom. So for now I think I will just try editing the xml files of the uploaded galleries as that sort of stuff is way beyond me and I have just got a headache trying to understand the Adobe instructions!
Hopefully some clever people will do all the hard work and lots of new Flash galleries will soon be around. There are some nice ones already created take a look

Flickr sync truncating sets over 500 images

I have a Flickr set with 577 images. I went to sync it with Aperture, and it only showed 500 images. When I went back to Flickr, I saw that the set had been truncated, with the 77 most recent images removed. To confirm, I re-added them, fired up Aperture again to sync, and sure enough, it truncated them.
Is this a known issue? I'm running the latest, 3.2.2.

Using Lightroom Flash Galleries in Flash Catalyst

Hi there. I love the ability of Lightroom to create brilliant Flash Galleries especially since there are so many plug-ins out there for the Lightroom Web Module.
My questions is, Is there a way to take the exported Flash Gallery from Lightroom, and use it in Flash Catalyst? In Flash Catalyst I have tried to import the .swf file created by Lightroom but when I try to view the Catalyst project, the gallery doesn't work. I have also tried after the fact to move the remaining files exported by Lightroom into the same folder Catalyst places the .swf file, but still to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong here? I'm not a programmer and have limited knowledge of code, but I'm also a quick learner and would very much like some help finding a solution to this.
If you have any advice, it would be much appreciated!

I'm not familiar with Lightroom in particular, but there is a tutorial on using a similar swf gallery here.
Things to check:
The lightroom files are all in the same location relative to the swf when you move them to your project
If your html page and your Catalyst swf are in different directories, make sure you set the base url
If you're still having trouble, you may want to install the debug player from here:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
It can generally show you any problems that pop up. They may not be very human-readable, but if you post them here I bet someone can help you decrypt them.
