Flash game has control key glitch in FF4?

This flash game: Dogfight 2 at Rock Solid Arcade has worked fine until I upgraded to Firefox 4.
The problem is this: it uses the CONTROL key to drop bombs. This part of the game doesn't work. Pushing the CONTROL key doesn't do anything.
The game still works in Safari.
I'm on a Mac, os 10.5.8
Does Firefox use the Control key for something else? Reserve it?

Could be your keyboard problem or something corrupted on the
OS itself.
Hand tool as activated with space bar (temporary) or the H
key. I have been
using CTRL Z and CTRL - + and have never experience this
problem even once.
Just today I spent about 9 hours of continues work on a
project, not even once...

Do you think our Flash game has a chance on Kickstarter (playable demo)

So me and my friend have been working on a game and recently we made it so far that we decided to launch a Kickstarter. Last Jungle In Sector 17 is a new take on the traditional top-down view space shooter with added RTS elements, some of the games we relate to are SPAZ, Star Control and classic Asteroids.

I wouldn't say we are doing anywhere near great as of now on Kickstarter, I'm doubting that we even reach the goal. We wanted to go in safe, small goal, playable demo (with easy access to it), reasonable backer rewards... I noticed the small visibility right after launch, but following a post on Reddit I calmed down a little. Well 10 days later we are still struggling to get attention, I sent out a letter to 65+ gaming news sites - 1 responses as of now (0 articles), also sent a review request to about 100 Youtubers who do review videos - got 2 'first impressions' vids. In that 10 days we have managed to get 3,369 video views (3000 of them in the first 2 days after launch) and 45 people have backed the project.
We have done all the regular: Homepage, Greenlight, Demo, Facebook, Twitter, Forum posts, IndieDB... We have gotten some good response from people who have tried out the game, but I guess it is just too average of a game.
Are the news outlets avoiding Kickstarter projects because the market is so over saturated or are people turned off when they hear the words "Flash game"? Either way our "Indie Dream" is slowly turning into "Indie Reality" which is fine, definitely smarter now and in the future. I still think that Flash is a great platform, maybe the testament to that should be the number of Flash games out there.

This sounds like an issue with Windows and your specific Bluetooth devices. As you mentioned, the LV Bluetooth VI's do require that the devices use the Windows drivers. Take a look at this link for specific requirements for using Bluetooth with LabVIEW. Also, you can take a look at our Developer Zone tutorial on designing Bluetooth applications a found here. Regarding your device drivers, sometimes it is as easy as uninstalling the driver and then letting Windows discover the device and fine its own driver. My arrow keys are not working inside flash games

Hello,
Whenever I play any flash game, my arrow keys are not working. They work perfectly fine when I am scrolling the site with them, but not in flash games.
I am using Google Chrome, flash player version 10,3,181,36 and my operating system is Win7 64 bit.
Solutions I've already tried:
Use another webbrowser
Re-install Flash player
Restart PC
Try another keyboard
I have this problem ever since the last Flash Player update.

It sounds like your arrow keys are not working correctly. I would start with these steps from the following article named:

You may have accidentally set an option that changes how your keyboard operates.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Dictation & Speech, then click “Text to Speech.” If “Speak selected text when the key is pressed” is selected, deselect it or click Change Key to select another key.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Keyboard. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must hold down a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.

Automatically Assign Control Key for External Assignment

Hi All,
Please can someone advise how I automatically assign the External Processing Control Key at the operation level using the Work Centre.
I have a Main Work Centre set up which is linked to every Functional Location. This Work Centre has a default Control Key PM01 - Plant Maintenance - Internal, assigned.
I also have a second Work Centre which has Control Key PM02 PLant Maintenance - External, assigned.
When I create a Work Order the system uses the Control Key assigned to the main work centre and assigns this at the operation level.
When I change the Work Centre for Operation 010, to the second Work Centre (PM02 Control Key) it doesn't pull this through to the operation. I have to change this manually.
Could someone explain why this is the case and how I resolve the problem.
Any help appreciated.

Cant use arrow keys on flash games

times) and still the same problem. I load up a flash game, then can

To be honest the flash game must support the arrow keys to play with them. This has nothing to do with a hardware issue.
Check the description of the game to see if you can play with the arrow keys.
Last but not least you can try to update the flash player.

I had the same problem and was looking around on the net for
help. I found a post that said to try using the numbered keypad
instead, as in 8 is up, 2 is down, 4 is left and 6 is right. It
worked for me so hopefully this will help you as well. :)

Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)

My firefox keeps crashing for no reason when I am playing FrontierVille. It has no problems with any other flash games. Why is this?

I try to play this facebook/Zynga game every day, and I have no problem at first. After a little while though, it ends up crashing every time. I do not under stand why and would like to see if someone could help me, I am getting a bit angry. No other Zynga/facebook game has this problem, and they all use Adobe Flash.

Has anyone else had a control key act stuck?

I couldn't type in my password the other day after some basic trouble shooting and calling Apple everyone was at their wits end. Then I saw it, in the lower left of safari in the grey boarder it said "display a menu" a quick search on my phone showed me it was the control key. After tapping this key a few times it went away. I currently have changed in the modifier keys section of the keyboard so caps lock is the control key and the control key functions are controlled by the caps lock. interesting thing is that caps lock isn't on all the time, i.e. just like how the control key was acting. I can't feel anything under the key, nothing has been spilled, the key works fine as CAPS LOCK, its just when the control is assigned to do control functions and only then, even assigning no action to it works. should i reinstall the last update? should I reinstall the OS? I did a time machine back up too, that didn't fix it.

Does it really matter whether anyone else has? If you have, that's a problem for you whether or not anyone else has experienced the same issue. Call Apple tech support or take the iPad to an Apple Store, if there's one in your area, and they'll replace the iPad unless it's determined that the problem was caused by some sort of accident rather than a factory defect.

Spaces has stopped responding to control keys

Spaces has stopped responding to the control keys. I tried rebooting, no dice. Checked preferences for spaces: they're OK. Using an apple keyboard, and 2 monitors. It worked till most recent update (Safari 4.0.1). Can still switch, but only by selecting application based switching (no convenient!). Any suggestions gratefully received.

Perhaps the control key settings for Spaces got changed somehow. Open System Preferences, then click on the "Expose & Spaces" icon, and click on the "Spaces" tab of the dialog that opens. At the bottom, you will see the current Keyboard and Mouse Shortcuts currently in effect for Spaces. Check that the key sequences are what you expect them to be, and if they have changed, you can reset them to what you want them to be.

Passing keystrokes from air browser to flash game

Here's my situation - I am accessing some games that my company built using a AIR browser (allowing us to sell an installable product on a CD, but keeping the content online for ease of maintenance). I can get the games to load, but i cant get them to accept keystrokes, ie: we have a tetris-like game that isnt getting any of the arrow key inputs. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with a focus issue, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks for the input. I considered this, and did some testing. I failed to mention in my original post that the browser loads a "virtual town" built in javascript, and the flash games are loaded from within this "town". when i point the browser to the game directly, it works fine, but when i try to load it within the "town" contruct, then i don't get the keyboard input. ive fooled around with javascript's focus(), but that doesnt seem to be helping anything. i realize that a flash based browser loading a java based environment that launches flash games is FAR from ideal, but its what i have to work with (business decisions outside of my control) and rewriting the town in flash isn't an option (even though i would love too). thanks again for your input, any other thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

For a few months now, I have had to install Flash Player every time I start my laptop. I have posed the question 'why?' on various web sites, all to no avail. For some reason I have never come across this site. Yesterday, I followed the instructions you give for installing a bit of software (Subinacl), into C: Program Files/Windows Resource Kits/Tools.
After installing what was suggested, Flash Player showed up in the Opera 'DeveloperTools> Plug ins', as Enabled.
This morning, on start up, Flash Player has vanished again. It is showing in 'Control Panel', but has vanished from Opera. Neither does it work in Firefox (it is missing from the Firefox plug in section.).
I have uninstalled Flash Player numerous times via the correct site and have even used Revo Uninstaller this last time, but it will still not stay installed.
Suggestions please

Try it from a fresh start:
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove the Flash Player and Shockwave plugins.
Go to: C/Windows/System32.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key+R and type "regedit", then click OK)
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE delete the Macromedia folder.(If it's there)
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software delete the Macromedia folder. (If it's there)
Close the Registry Editor.
Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Then go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ and download &install the Shockwave FULL installer for Windows (Internet Explorer)
Once it's installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

Possible hacks in flash game

I've been working on a flash game and it is live on

The problem is, that somehow, a few people seem to be able to
get impossible scores.
We have tested on various machines with various browsers but
can't seem to find the loophole some of our players have found.
Please try to hack/cheat this game. And if you succeed to get
a score close to 2900 points, please let me know how you achieved
it.
Some standard measures we have taken to make the game secure
is:
- test if the game is run from the original domain
- test if the game is run locally or in the browser
- check start and stop time of the game, against the total
play time (they are seperately measured)
- internally test the achieved score with a control number
before sending it to the server, to make sure it isn't tampered
with.
- send all data to the server through ghostwire
- encrypt the score before sending with ghostwire
I suspect the problem coming from some timing differences
between PC/Browser/Plug-in configurations.
Please let me know if anyone has any other ideas.

it seems that difference in framerate accuracy on different
platforms with different Flash Player versions is the problem.
Fluctuations in internal Flash timers are at the core of the
problem.

Adobe Flash games and buttons super small in Firefox

I recently got a new computer and I've noticed certain Adobe Flash games or other features of Adobe Flash don't load to the proper size that they used to. There is room on the screen to be bigger but it just looks like the game or features have shrunk.
I am running Windows 8.1 and have the latest versions of both Firefox and Adobe Flash. I've tried going back to past versions of FF and Flash; hasn't worked. I tried FF in Safe Mode and resetting it but those didn't work either. They worked fine on my previous computer (5 years older and running Windows Vista). I also tried resizing the pages but the games/images stay small in proportion to the resizing. I have loaded the same problem pages/games in Chrome and IE without the errors reoccurring so there has to be some combo of problems between FF and Flash. On another note... not every game running has this problem. x_x

Did you try to right-click in the Flash player area to see if you can restore the full size?
Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.
*Windows Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage: Local Storage Settings

Return key broken, only works with holding control key

I think my young daughter did something on accident while using the computer.
The return key only works now while holding down the control key. It will not work as it normally should. I do alot of word processing on my computer and this is an big hassle now.
Please help. This is a serious pain in my.........

a brody, I did already try my older mac keyboard and it has the same problem. Here is a couple more pieces of info that may help.
When this started, my daughter was playing the apple Chess game. With the voice. This problem started after that. And, with my current problem, sometimes the voice comes on and will read me a folder name, or read me my email subject.
Today, the return key started working for a few hours, but then stopped again.
This is weird and i am clueless. Anymore thoughts??
