Flash games on FaceBook don't work - Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit + Firefox 7.0.1

Hello,
I installed today the FlashPlugin update for Ubuntu 11.10 (32 bit version). After the update all FaceBook games stoped working in Firefox 7.0.1. They still work with Chrome (version 15.0.874.120).
System Information:
AMD Semprom 140
3.7 GB of RAM
Graphics: GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!
Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot
Firefox 7.0.1 (Mozila Firefox for Ubuntu - Canonical - 1.0)

Due to the lack of official info both from Adobe and from Mozilla, I did some research on this and here's what I found out as a solution:
- I navigated to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and the reported version was 10.1.99.0
- I navigated to about:plugins and the listed flashplayer plugin was Gnash and not Adobe Flash plugin
- In Firefox I uninstalled the flash player plugin
- In the Synaptic Package Manager, I uninstalled Gnash and Gnash Plugin
- In a terminal window I issued <bash>$ sudo apt-get autoremove && sudo apt-get autoclean
- In the Synaptic Package Manager I unistalled the adobe-flashplayer plugin and, then, re-installed it
- Back in Firefox I navigated to about:plugins to verify that it listed the Adobe Flash Plugin
- Navigated again to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to make sure version 11.1.102.55
After that all flash sites (not only FB games were affected) came back to normal operation.

Hi, i have my iMac from 2008 and it's always work but for almost the lasy year youtube doesn't work. My current version of Chrome is having problems, too! It's so annoying. Anyone have any suggestions now? I basically can't view or download any PDFs because of this.
Does anyone else think this is a problem not only with Adobe? I would think Apple would have something to do with this? Wouldn't they get some idea from the developer versions that no browser can open PDFs while running Lion!? Pretty bad customer service on the part of a company that prides itself on being VERY customer-friendly. Wouldn't you say?

ITunes and Quicktime don't work on Windows 7 64-bit

iTunes and Quicktime don't work on Windows 7 64-bit. I tried to uninstall and install the package according to Apple support article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) but still the same problem. I even tried to stop the Bonjour, it didn't help either. When I try to run either iTunes or Quicktime I get a Windows error message "iTunes has stopped working", with details like this:

Taken as a whole, the symptoms suggest that another application (other than QuickTime itself) has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

Can you open up your Real Player and tell me what version you have? I think Real Player 15.0.6 is supposed to fix this problem. There was a conflict between Real Player and Flash this whole summer that broke Flash videos. Real Player released a update that might help in your case.
If that doesn't help, I think a addon might be to blame here. So do this:

One feature in a game on Facebook will not work; I've cleared cache, updated all plug ins (Flash etc). What else might I try apart from the game maker's suggestion that I revert to Firefox 5?

I play Mafia Wars via Facebook. In the game one can 'ask' for gifts, help etc from other members of one's 'family'. These all work for me bar one (recently changed in it's presentation); once names of the people I want to 'send' to have been selected I have two options, I can 'send' or 'skip'. The only option that works now is 'skip'!!
The game makers suggest
1) I clear the cache (already done)
2) I change to Chrome or another browser (I would like to stay with Firefox)
3) I revert to Firefox 5 (I would prefer to remain with the most up to date version).

i'm also having major CPU problems w/ FF 29.0.1. when i restart the app it calms down again but after loading tabs it steadily climbs up to 100% after not too long. i have checked out the 2 CPU links/articles above and do all the basic troubleshooting and tips, but with all the FF tools & add-ons isn't there some sort of CPU monitor that has the ability to display which extensions/scripts are hogging the CPU? Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.

2.2 flash games on facebook

I thought we were getting a full flash player with 2.2?
When I visit facebook, the full desktop site, my games looks like they will load, but then stop with either a circle and the play button or an exclamation mark!
I will look up how to take a screenshot and post shortly.
I have tried the following facebook games on the standard browser...
cityville
farmville
bejewled blitz
so far visiting sites with flash video are working better than before. I can actually play animated radar for the local news channel.
I did notice a few of my sites want to always push me their mobile version and I have not found an override like some phones and browsers that go to the desktop site by default.

Found the answer in anohter section of these boards! It worked for me:
MODS...i posted this in the DX forum too because someone asked a question about it. It isn't only a DX issue so I am posting here too. If you feel the need to remove or move this as a duplicate post, i understand.
Farmville is very popular and now with 2.2 release everyone can play right on their phone. If you tried to play after updating to 2.2 Froyo you probably received an error that says it isnt available on this device.....NOT SO!!
But you do need to make a change in your browser settings:
Instructions are for the default web browser.
1.Download and install Flash 10.1 from market
2.Open your browser, go to facebook.
3.type into the browser about:debug and press go. The browser will go right back to the same screen you were on previously and it appears that nothing happens.
4.Press your menu button(bottom left physical button)
5.Press "MORE"
6.Scroll down to "Settings"
7.Scroll all the way down to the bottom where you see "UA STRING"
8Choose "Desktop" This will "trick" websites into thinking you are logging in from a PC computer and not a Droid.
9.Hit back until you are on the facebook page again.
10. Refresh your browser and launch Farmville!!!

Flash Video Cue Points don't work

I used the template sample from Adobe named :Flash video
template: Showcase website for personal video...I followed all the
steps sugested. I used Flash Video Encoder, created the cue points,
worte down the location of those cue points, which I wrote exactly
in the Settings.XML file for each chapter....etc. I guarantee you
that I did it all as sugested...In fact several months ago, it
worked for another project and another videos that I had.
But this time, when I am testing it, the video appears in the
screen all right but when I select a chapter for the section of
that video, an error appears like this :

Sites that have the option "login with facebook" don't work. They don't log in

For example. My nikeplus account needs to log in via Facebook. But it doesn't work. I already tried downloading chrome, but that doesn't work either.

I'm having the same issue. Just hooked up a Mac Mini and running the internet just fine over wifi, but Facetime isn't working. I'm going to try resetting my router in the morning.

When using Facebook with Firefox the pointer always has a little round circle by it rotating as if it is doing something. This happens when I play games on facebook and after I downloaded the new version of Firefox. How can I make this stop?

Flash Player 16.0.0.296 working with IE 11 but not FireFox.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium. Control Panel shows both Flash Player 16 ActiveX and Flash Player 16 NPAPI installed. It is working with Internet Explorer 11 (with Compatibility View Settings) but not FireFox which I need badly. It had been working in FireFox but I believe update fouled it.
This is my third day trying to resolve this with many uninstall/reinstall. Somebody must have the answer!

Download links don't work, tabs won't close, and firefox not responding

Everything was working fine yesterday until I updated my computer with windows update. Aft5er that I wasn't able to download any gaming links from the piratesbay and other gaming sites, I would look to see what is wrong the I look in the url and I see a box with a circle with a line crossed over it like it wouldn't allow me to click the link. When I hover my arrow over it it would give me an option of allowing the blocked pop up, edit it etc. I did everything by clicking 'allow pop up,' 'block pop up,' everything, but it still didn't work. There are times where I would give up on downloading the link and exit the tab but then it wouldn't let me. I tried going to other tabs and it won't let me either. SO I had to restart firefox and it worked normally again.
I could hide firefox web browser but nothing else, yesterday I could exit the browser but when I click on it it won't work until I restarted my computer. Now, today I can't exit of firefox browser, so I had to restart my computer with the browser still active. Only then, did everything worked normally again. However, it would repeat the same process over and over.
What is wrong with firefox? I don't want to keep restarting my computer each time this happens.

Facebook pull-downs don't work and the messages area is blank under the blue navigation bar.

I recently let my computer upgrade my Firefox from 16.0.1 to 16.0.2. Once I did, every single page I went to loaded but came up completely blank. I tried Firefox's suggestions on fixing it and nothing worked so I went back to 15 and then upgraded to my previously working version, 16.0.1. I've only had one problem since. My pull-downs on Facebook don't work, the messages page comes up blank, and lots of other little things don't work either, like comments on certain pages or the "endless page loading" on my friends pages (I can only see the top few updates, the rest doesn't load.) It works fine on Chrome, but I hate losing all my plugins to go to Chrome from Firefox when only one site doesn't work. Since then I've turned off all my add-ons, deleted my history, removed my cache and cookies, utterly removed Firefox and reinstalled from scratch again, after deleting EVERY item on my hard drive with the word Mozilla attached. I've updated my Flash, my Java, my QuickTime, my Direct X and my Adobe reader plug in. I've tried to roll back my system, but I've been working on this too long and it won't go back far enough. I've run the windows malware scanner (full scan) and Malwarebytes scanner as well (full scan), with no problems found. I'm out of suggestions. What can I do to get my Facebook to work again on Firefox 16.0.1? I'm on Windows 7 (64) Home Edition, BTW.

EDIT: NOOOO!!! I have no idea what's wrong. It started doing it again, and now when I delete everything in that folder for personal stuff, even when I JUST deleted it all and haven't added ANYTHING, it still is broken! I'm so sad! We almost had it!!
Why would it work the first time and then not work the second time? I bring up the personal settings folder, delete everything in it, restart, go to facebook, and then it still doesn't work!
EDIT: I figured it out. I like to have firefox remember some cookies and not others. Most are deleted on restart except a few key sites. When I change that setting to on, facebook java stuff stops working. Even if I let facebook be one of the few that I always keep the cookies for on restart, it still won't let me use it. I either need to have it remember all cookies or forget all cookies on restart. And I hate tracking, so if I have to choose between firefox remembering everything and remembering nothing, I'll take nothing. It's probably good for me to remember all my passwords anyways. Annoyed that facebook won't let me use that setting, though.

If you are willing to pay a few bucks for an AppStore App, there are couple of different 'Web Browsers' and 'Remote Desktop' Apps that ARE available in the AppStore that SUCESSFULLY allow you to play Facebook Flash games on your iDevice. I currently use the "Splashtop" RC (RemoteDesktop) App to play 'Farmville, Cityville, Frontierville, etc. Zynga' Flash games through Facebook on my iPad 3G. I hope that you will take the time to research these Apps if you are seriously wanting to play these games on your iPad. I have had nop problems with the 'Splashtop' Remote Desktop Web Browser App and have been able to play all of the Facebook Games on my iPad exactly as if I were playing them on my actual Desktop or Laptop sitting at home! Let me know how everything works out for you!
