Flash Help Not Updating on Web

I've uploaded a Flash help project to our web site. But the
latest information is NOT showing up, no matter how many times I
click refresh or clear out the associated cached files. I've even
deleted all the items on the server and re-uploaded the entire
project. I've verified that the file sizes and dates are
identical...
Yet the browser is showing an older version.
Any else experienced this? And how do I fix it? It's
happening in both IE and FF.

Are you certain that the server has been updated? I've been
in a few development environments where you uploaded initially to a
staging server. Then after a certain period of time, the staging
server would update to one or more production servers. So depending
on the timing as well as the server you are accessing at the time
(Important to note that, as load balancing and whatnot can present
different servers depending on the load) you may see that help has
updated properly on one server and the next page refresh shows it
hasn't yet updated to the other.

Are others having the same problem as me, Updating Flash and other apps in CS6? Followed some "Known Issues" and updated my Flash Help but still the link doesn't work inside Flash. I keep getting an error...

Another issue was the VideoEvents. I use video in all my apps and to perform a simple addEventListener(VideoEvent.READY, myFunction) doesn't work. I think Adobe was a little early in releasing their CS6 apps.

issue 1:
The 'Update is not applicable' error might occur if you had installed any adobe pre-release/beta software on your machine earlier and have not uninstalled or the uninstallation was not complete. Uninstalling your CS6 software and reinstalling the same would help you surpass this error and it will let you use the software updates without any issues.
You may consider using the creative suite cleaner tool available at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html for this purpose.
issue 2:
This looks like an issue if we use import fl.video.*
Instead if you could use it directly in the listener like
myFLVPlayback.addEventListener(fl.video.VideoEvent.READY, readyHandler);
may help you overcome such circumstances.

Dataguard - logical standby - need help - not updating data at commit

We have logical standby setup where data is not updated at standby when committed at Primary. It only updates when alter system swith logfile.
On Primary:
log_archive_dest_2='service=xxStandby LGWR ASYNC valid_for=(online_logfiles,primary_role) db_unique_name=xxStandby'
On Standby:
we have already created standby redo logs ( 1+ # redo logs)
we used ALTER DATABASE START LOGICAL STANDBY APPLY IMMEDIATE NODELAY;
The data only ships when we do the ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE whereas it should so when data is commited on the primary.
Is there anything we are missing or need attention.

Yes, I have standby redo logs = ( 1 + # redo logs on the primary) and are of same size.
I also changed the log_archive_dest_2 setting for valid_for to ALL_LOGFILES, but the performance is still very slow... we are now overr 9 hrs behind the primary.

The Logical standby performance reallly not good at all. trying to increase sga/pga more ... hoping this will speed up some

Flash Slideshow not Updating

Hey all,
I've finally reached my wit's-end trying to figure out how
to solve what is seemingly such a inane problem. I'm working on a
University Website for their Recreation Dept. On the main index
page I've developed a Flash slide-show that automatically plays and
loops a series of photos of different activities. It's basically a
SWF file that calls to an XML listing of the picture locations,
speed, transition time, etc. It has worked great. However, I
recently tried to put a few more pictures into the series, taking
the total from five to nine. This update works PERFECTLY on my work
machine -- using Dreamweaver, when I preview the page, I see my new
slide-show, and all the new pictures. However, after uploading all
my pertinent files to the host server, my index page continues to
play the OLD Flash slide-show, and not my updated one. I've
uploaded the new swf file, the new xml file, the new index.html,
even the AC_RunActiveContent.js script. Everything has been
overwritten, several times, and the index page on my server will
not update to the new content. Any ideas or clues to get around
this? I know it's not exactly easy to understand, but hopefully
somebody has run into this same problem. Thanks in advance,

Sounds like a file cache problem.
What I usually do is put version numbers on the swf files so
that when you update it the old file doesn't show up again. There
are many techniques that people use, none of them seem to work 100%
of the time when the new file has the same name as the old file.
What you can try is:
1. Change the swf file name andupdate the name in your html
file
2. Remove the swf file from the server, open your html page,
hit refresh (it should hang because the swf file isn't there), then
publish the new swf and hit refresh again.
There are also techniques with meta tags.

Flash Player Not Updating?

Hello,
About 10 minutes ago, I checked the Plugin Checker to make sure all my plugins were up to date. It said that my Flash Player needed updating, so I did that.
However, I checked the Plugin Checker again after downloading to make sure it went through, it didn't, and still lists Flash as Vulnerable/In Need of an update: http://i.imgur.com/tiA64Ji.png

So am I up to date or not?

It is a bit of a headache right now as 16.0.0.296 is vulnerable actually however Adobe has yet to release yet another update to try and fix critical exploits that is in older versions.

Flash file not visible in web page

Hello,
I'm Udayakumar from chennai (India). I created some flash
files and uploaded in web site. That are working properly in India
only. But not visible in other countries. What's the problem? I'm
exporting in swf format with following settings.
Version - Flash player 8, Loard orfer - bottom up,
Actionscript version - actionscript 2.0, options - compress movie,
local play back security - local files only.
And I'm inserting the swf files in html pages using plugin
commands. (ie)

So I can't able to understand, why was the flash files are
not visible in other countries?

All of the above will be generated with all values in place
using the "Publish Settings" function in Flash if you check HTML as

Operational Flash Version # Not Updated After Upgrade?

I've just upgraded my 11050's to 5.00 build 69.
When I look at a "show version", the new version is displayed but the operational and locked flash still list build 33. Anyone else run into this or know what could cause this?

I used these documents when upgrading. I used the manual upgrade method instead of using the script.
1. copied code to the CSS
2. unpacked the image
3. set the primary boot-image
4. rebooted
The response I got from TAC on this is that the operational flash is only updated when going to a new major release, not maintenance releases.
All indications are that I am running the newer version despide the wrong operational version # showing up. Perhaps this is just an issue with this particular code version?, i.e. When the code was compiled, there was a version number parameter somewhere that wasn't updated?

FF shut down my Adobe flash cuz not updated & won't download now

I've tried to find the A player by using several restore sites but FF has definitely removed it as they indicated on my computer saying it was not updated and was a danger.
I need this plug in but it will not download in any fashion in fact Tools shows no plugins, nor is Adobe of any kind in programs.
I also tried to download by disabling security settings and then another time the firewall and then another time putting Mozilla in safe mode. Can not get it to download just get a blank page that says downloads complete but they are not. can not play utube or news videos or daily motion vids.

Flash player not updating to 11.7.700.191 help please

I don't work on the installer, so I'm guessing here. If you've already selected an update preference, it would make sense to not prompt you again. We *should* prompt you on a fresh install, or after running the Uninstaller, as you would not have a defined preference in either case.
You can also toggle the update notification preference at any time from Control Panel > Flash Player > Advanced.
You can choose between "Always Allow Adobe to install updates", in which case we only notify you when there's a feature-bearing dot release (on the Release channel). We call this a "loud" release when we talk about it on the team.
If you choose "Notify me to install updates", you'll always get that prompt. If you choose "Never check for updates", you won't get notifications or updates.
For Beta Channel, we never do "loud" releases. Once a week, we send out a build of the latest branch that's ready to go. Right now we're shipping betas of the next Flash Player 11.7 service update while we wrap up the feature work on Flash Player 11.8. As soon as that's done, we'll start pushing out 11.8 builds.

SWF created in CS4 Flash does not play from web server

I published a Flash movie in CS4, which includes the following ActionScript 3.0 code to allow people to click the movie to open a new web page; but it will not play from the web server...however, it plays just fine from my local hard drive in Firefox and IE 7.
It is an html file with an embedded .swf and I made sure to copy over the swfObject.js, AC_ActvieX.js, AC_RunActiveContent.js, expressInstall.swf, and swfobject_modified.js files to the correct directories. Flash object not updating (Captivate 6)

I'm using a flash object on one of my slides. This is a help file. The file was created in Captivate, published, and then I'm putting the flash object onto a slide. When this slide is referenced, the flash file plays. It's a few static screens with forward and back buttons. The issue is that on one of the screens, the wrong text was inserted. I fixed the text, re-published, deleted the flash object from the slide, and put the new one there instead. But when I run the project, it still shows the old version, with the wrong text. I'm not sure why this is. The source file was changed and updated. I've tried restarting the computer in case it's being help in memory, but still, it keeps showing the old version with the wrong text.

I tried adding a random button to the file, publishing, and using it again. This time, the button didn't show up, but the text updated. So I deleted it and tried the original file again. Still showing incorrect text. I opened the file, added a button, saved it, deleted the button, republished, reinserted the flash file, and now it works. So maybe there have to be changes saved for the file to update? Not really sure how it worked, just glad that it did.

Flash Controls Not Showing On Web Page

Hi-
Been beating my head lately using Flash Pro 8 and DW 8.02.
Here is the latest difficulty:
Created a Flash video file in Premiere Elements 4
Imported the .flv Flash video file into Flash 8 using import
video
Added an external skin to the video
Saved Flash .fla file
Exported movie in .swf format
I can open the .swf file in Flash Player 8 and it works fine.
I can also use the Publish setting in Flash to export the necessary
files as well as the HTML file. When viewed in either Firefox or IE
it plays correctly and the player controls are present. However, if
I create a new page in DW8 and then Insert > Media > Flash,
point it to the .swf file and then view it in Firefox or IE I can
only see the .flv Flash video file and none of the controls/skin
that should be there. I know the controls/skin are actually present
because I can browse directly to the .swf file and it displays
works properly. I can also use the publish settings from Flash to
create the HTML page and it works correctly as well. It is only
when the page is generated by DW8 that I get this problem. I have
looked at the code created by DW8 and cannot find any reference to
the .swf file for the movie controls/skin. Any idea why DW8 would
only be placing the Flash video .flv file on the page and not
writing the code to place the entire Flash movie .swf on the page?
I have tried restarting/rebooting, created a new "clean" test page
with only the Flash movie on it and it is always the same. The
other thing that is weird is I did not select Autoplay or Loop in
the DW8 settings nor in Flash 8, yet when I preview the page
created by DW8 in a browser, piece of the Flash movie I can see
(the Flash video part) autoplays and loops!
Again, any help is appreciated.

Update- This is what I have discovered while playing around
with the page and Flash file:
If I create the .swf files for the movie and skin and then
save them to the same directory as the .Flash video file and then
view the .swf file everything works fine.
If I then create a web page using DW8 and insert the Flash
into the page and save the web page to the exact same directory as
all the other files and then view the web page in a browser, it
works fine. However, if I create a new web page in DW8, save it to
any other directory other than the one where the .swf and .flv
files are located and then view the page in a browser only the .flv
Flash video portion of the movie will display in the browser--the
controls are missing. However, if I browse directly to the .swf
file and avoid going through the DW8 generated web page the Flash
movie displays properly with the controls in the correct location.
My question then is why will DW8 not show the Flash movie with
controls if the page is located in higher level directory than the
.swf and .flv files and yet browsing directly to the .swf file with
my browser works just fine? I have checked the path to the .swf
file in the DW8 source code and it is pointing to the correct
directory location. This is so strange--why will it display one way
and not the other? Any ideas?

I NEED FLASH HELP/ NOT SEEING SOME SITES

I have a dell computer with a ati2400 video card. I
have three browsers, IE7, firefox3.0, k-meleon. I had Opera,but had
to unistall it because it would play only 80% of the flash videos
yet fiefox and k-meleon played them all I installed k-meleon after
uninstalling opera. I installed flash player 10.0123 for mozilla
browsers on saturday and everything was fine. Today I found that
all my browsers would only show about 85% of flash videos. I'm
freaking out because IE7 is a different flash plugin than firefox.
This is what i found when I scanned flash players. I have the
upgrade plugin for mozilla browsers 10.0,0.12, then I have two
flash plugins 9.0.124, one flash player Helper 9.0.115, and two
NPSWF32_FLASHUTIL.
I am at a loss when it comes to flash players. I upgrade
when I get a notice, but I know your not supposed to have more than
one player for mozilla browsers and one for microsoft browsers?
Right? Is this why now i have the same problem as i did with my
opera browser? I tried a system restore to before the flash upgrade
10.012 was installed and nothing changed, i still had the same
problem. HELP, What gets uninstalled, what stays and will this take
care of my flash problems? I spent months with the Opera problem
and read on opera and firefox forums people who had flash problems
say they uninstalled and reinstalled flash and no change. Sorry
about the long post, I'm very sick and this is the best i can
do.

Hi. The actionscript is from a Flash Mask Effect template
that I was asked to make image and text changes to. I don't know
what the repetitive aa and bb does. The clip works well except that
I can not get it to Stop after the last image, it just keep going
and going...
