  • Flash Image gallery (film strip)

    HI there,
I recently came across a webpage that had a film strip
slideshow at the top of the homepage... Does anyone know what this
is called or knows of a script that does something similar? Ive
been looking for three weeks now but I can not find one.
    Thanks!
    Matt

Do you have a reference that can make clear what you
    mean?

  • Images once exported (RAW) do not show up in catalog or previous imorts not film strips in library nor develop.  They are in the files to which they were exported

Not sure how to get this going seems rather redundant.
In the last 4 - 5 days I have imported several hundred RAW files, done some minimal post processing and exported these images to various files (I have verified that the images are in the files to which I exported them).  These images to no show up in previous imports nor do they show up in library nor develop film strips.  How or can I get them to show up for additional review and possible manipulation.  I recently did this same operation with largle JPEG files and all went well.
I did initially have some problems with LR recognizing the RAW files but some how was able to overcome that ( perhaps a card  issue they are old card and the JPEGs were on a new card hmmmm!!??)
Any ways I supposed I can reimport them from their current files but that is a redundant pain.  Suggestions would be apprediated

One possibility is that you accidentally opened a new/different catalog.
Look at File->Open Recent and open the catalogs shown there and see if your photos appear

  • Images do not show in film strip

When in either Library or Develop my images in the film strip do not appear, unless I click on the grey rectangle. Can someone give me some advise please

OK - there were some presets left in the develop module that were apparently the offending gremlins. Deleted them from within Lightroom and from windows explorer. Print module back to normal. I think they were develop presets created for Lightroom 4 that I had also downloaded/imported that were creating the problems. Thanks anyway.

  • Scrolling Film Strip Effect?

Hi, im crossing over from the Logic forum here but got an intersting question for you film & editing experts.
Me & team are making a music video at college & want to open the video with a movie reel scrolling vertically up the screen (the classic black film with the sort of, small white boxes lining each side) with the SFX to match.
Then the opening image appears on the film & we sort of zoom into that image leaving the film strip effect behind & carring on into the video.
Hope you get that, its tricky to explain but have seen simalar things like it done before.
So, is it possable in FC Express/Pro?
Or is this type of thing more to do with other applications?
Thanks for any help or advice.

dont think fcp has that feature specifically. if it did it would be under video generators and/or masks. the motion program might have something like it, but i havent really delved into that program much. best bet would be to create what you want in flash and import it.

  • Lightroom 4.4: Only 3 thumbnails will display at a time in both Grid view and the Film Strip

Hi. I have Lightroom 4.4. and Windows 7--both of which have been working fine for several months. Starting a few days ago, however, thumbnails have refused to load for any NEW photos I import. They appear gray/blank in both Grid view and the film strip. However, if you click on any of the film strip thumbnails (while in either Grid view or Develop mode), that thumbnail and corresponding image WILL load--until up to three have done so. Then they begin disappearing again, allowing you to view no more than three images' thumbnails at any one time.
I can't review a shoot via Grid mode this way. I'm also afraid to use Lightroom while it's misbehaving, for fear of corrupting the catalog somehow (though all the images appear to be there). Searching this forum, I found several people who experienced having all of their thumbnails blank out and who were able to correct this by either reinstalling or removing their color profiling software. However, 1) I did this (and it didn't work), and 2) it isn't that all my thumbnails that have disappeared. All the thumbnails and images imported prior to the bug, still initially display correctly.* And I can get three thumbnails of the newer images to appear at a time.
*The asterisk is because after I poked around some more, I realized that if I opened other folders and began post-processing images from older uploads (vs. just viewing them), the thumbnails that initially displayed correctly everywhere also blank out and begin appearing in this up-to-three-at-a-time fashion.
    Help, please?
    With many thanks,
    Rita

Alas, it didn't work. I did it twice--the second time rebooting the computer before starting Lightroom. I didn't expect the reboot to make a difference, but I did discover something else in the process: the second time I tried this, I accidentally opened a different catalog--and new photos imported just FINE into that one, thumbnails and all! For one moment I thought the reboot HAD made the difference. However, when I reopened the catalog I actually wanted, the original problem remained. Thumbnails don't load with import, and, when forced, only display up to three at a time.
So the problem seems specific to this catalog.
And yes--thank you for affirming that reinstalling Lightroom wouldn't work, either. (I forgot to mention that's what I had tried first. It didn't help--but it's nice to know it wasn't supposed to.)
Thank you so much for your reply. Do you have any other ideas, please?
    With many thanks, truly,
    Rita

  • The photo displayed does not match the "film strip" shown below

    Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me.
I have started to spend some time with iPhoto, creating events an tagging, naming faces etc. trying to finally put some order against my photo collection and everything has been great until yesterday I noticed that the picture I was working on was different to the 'film strip' images below.  Infact, the film strip images related to a completely different event....
Firstly, Is this something I need to worry about?
And wether it is or isn't something I need to worry about, how can I fix it?
But also, I can see some photo's in the film strip, but when I click on them they appear in the 'main' photo area as blank, in fact there is a kind of greyed out warning triangle with an exclamation mark there.  Where have those photo's gone, and why can I still see them in the film strip if I have stupidly deleted them (I hope I haven't by the way!)
I've tried "Examine and repair iPhoto Library file permissions" and rebuilding the thumb prints, but neither fixes these problems.
(I've also done the close, re-open iPhoto and reboot the laptop scenarios!)
Can anyone help me please?  Any, and all advice welcomed!
    Thanks in anticipation
    Westie
    Oh - it's iPhoto 11 version 9.2.3 I'm using and I'm running it on a MacBook Pro running Max OS X 10.7.3

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
    Regards
    TD

  • Film Strip Question

If you have 2 monitors like i do, how do i get the film strip to appear on the 2nd screen.
For an example of what i mean if you press the F key you get the image selected in full screen in your current main screen, scroll the mouse down the screen and get the film strip.
How do i get that filmstrip when the image selected in the browser is already displayed at full screen on an alternate monitor?
    Hope that makes sense!
    Cheers

Did you "reorganize" them outside of LR? If so, LR has lost track of the images. You'll need to click the Question Mark on one at the highest level directory you can and point LR to the file. LR will try to re-locate the rest but you may need to do this for each changed branch.

  • Scroll film strip

    Hi,
I'd like to be able to have a film strip of thumbnail slides
scroll up and down, and also be able to click on any of the
thumbnails. Once a thumbnail is clicked, it should open the larger
(full) version of that respective slide. I can do a scroll bar, but
I cannot make the thumbnails clickable. Does anyone know how to do
    this?
    Thanks in advance.

There are many tutorials online for scrolling thumbnail
menus. If you google flash, scrolling thumbnail menu, you get lots
    of them.

  • Moving photos within film strip

    Hi,
I apologize in advance for such a rudimentary question, but what would be the fastest and easiest way to move one or more photos from one end of the filmstrip, to the other? I know I can just select the photos I want to move, drag them to the edge of the film strip and wait for it to scroll to the desired location, but I was hoping there is a faster, more efficient way. Basically I have some photos at the beginning of the film strip that I want to place next to similar photos that appear somewhere towards the end of the film strip. Unfortunately shuttle control ceases to function once you click and drag a photo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There really are many many ways to sort-of do this. It depends how much you want to do with either the keyboard and/or the selection pointer (a/k/a the mouse cursor). None of the ones I know are as direct as it seems you would like.
    A few work-arounds.
    • Select the images you want to move. Press "v" twice to go to Browser view. Change the thumbnail size to small (this can be done w. repeated "{Shift}+{left square bracket}", or in the toolstrip of the Browser). Click-and-drag to where you want. Press "v" to return to Split view.
    • Even easier -- just do this kind of image ordering in Browser view. As soon as you manually move an Image, the sort order changes to Manual. The Manual sort is remembered even if you change to another sort (e.g.: arrange your images, change to date sort, then change to manual sort and Aperture restores your last manual sort).
    • Click to change the Film Strip in Split view to either Browser or List mode (the keyboard shortcuts are listed next to the icons on the Film Strip toolstrip). Scrolling in either of these modes is faster than in the Film Strip.
    • Add color labels to the ones you want together (there are 8 labels to chose from) and then sort by label.
Better yet -- make a Stack of the images you want together. Select the ones at the beginning of the Project, add the ones at the end to your selection, and select "Stacks→Stack".

  • LR3 Crashes While Browsing Film Strip

I'm using Win 7 64 bit, Acer Aspire 7540-5980 (recent model), ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200,Wacom Intuos3
While scrolling with the film strip to do a second edit of a shoot I keep getting the msg, "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working".
Flicks are off, I have uninstalled and re-installed Wacom drivers. I need help immediately so I can get this shoot to the agency today.

It seems I can select images using the mouse but when scrolling with the forward/backward arrows  or the scroll bar below the film strip LR3 crashes. It seems to be a particular image or thumbnail that is crashing LR3. Trying to delete the unrated images to see how that affects the crashes. I can preview all of the images in Bridge.
I think I have figured out which images is crashing LR but it crashes before i can delete the image. I have deleted the image from the computer so how can i refresh the catalog without letting that image be viewed in the filmstrip.
After 4 hours of testing and then advancing through the filmstrip 1x1 and deleting the unrated images via Explorer, LR has stopped crashing. The same images worked in other image viewing programs so it's some sort of LR problem. These images previewed in film strip and in the main viewing window yesterday.
What is the address of Accounts Payable at Adobe, I need to send an invoice for my consulting time.
This is a fully activated download of LR3

  • Lightroom 5.7 film strip help please

Hello again community I'm back to ask another question. After upgrading to Lightroom 5.7 I noticed the film strip images no longer have icons on them letting me know which images I have edited. I am hoping someone can help me get these icons back. I use the as a digital equivelent to a book mark and they are very helpful to quickly tell me where I left off in my image editing. Your help is very much appreciated.

The preferences look in order and the thumbnail size looks large enough.
The only thing missing is proof that you've adjusted an image or added a rating or flag and that those changes aren't being reflected properly on the thumbnails, so include that in your screenshot.
Here is an example from my LR Develop that shows ratings and non-default settings have been applied and with their accompanying badges:
And that would only proof that you're having an issue not an answer about what to do to fix it.  For that, about the only thing I can suggest is to reset (delete/move) your LR preferences file in case it has become corrupted.  The location of the preferences file is indicated on this page:  Recover catalog, images after resetting preferences
Before deleting or moving your preferences file so that LR creates a new one with default values, review your preferences for any changes and note where you catalog is so you can put things back how they need to be once you've reset things.

  • Layered sequence creates a flashing image

I've successfully been layering multiple copies of the same clip to produce some interesting visuals.
With 1 section only the layering produces a flashing image, as if brightness/contrast levels are varying.
My first thought was that they were slightly out of time, so I duplicated the top layer, got rid of the bottom one (there are only two). Then pasted in the copy and applied the old settings from the previous layer, but.. still got the flashing.
Now I've used this effect on all surrounding footage, which was filmed in the same location, and there's no problem.
What would cause this to happen?
    Effects used:
    B/C
    Color Balance
    Color Balance
    ProcAmp
Plz bear in mind this occurs on only one of multiple clips and they all use these effects

    B/C. Brightness/Contrast yes.
Thx Bill I did try doing that already.
It was the ProcAmp on the top layer. What I don't understand is.. given that it worked on the dozen or so layers in the sequence before this one why would it now start flashing?
The only explanation I could think of was that one was slightly out of time, but this wasn't the case.
Any1 know of anything else that could cause this.
I don't think it's an effect conflict as it works perfectly fine on all clips before and after this one, with exactly the same settings.
Oh, and there is know flashing from lighting or weather on original.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • LR 3.6 cannot view photos in film strip in Library mode.  Can view photos on Develop setting.

On LR 3.6 I cannot view my photos on the film strip in the LIBRARY setting.  On DEVELOP I can view on photo at a time on the film strip (the rest of the photos are not viewable).  This is a new problem which has only occured on the last two imports.

Sounds like a corrupted preview cache.  Close LR and find the catalog on the hard drive.  Rename the lrdata folder (Windows) / file (Mac) - don't touch the lrcat catalog file.  Then open LR and see if the previews reappear.  If they do, select all in Grid view tonight when you go to bed and go to Library menu > Previews > Render Standard Sized Previews - it take a long time so it's worth running overnight.  If everything looks good in the morning, you can delete the lrdata folder (Windows) / file (Mac) that you renamed earlier.

  • Why does my flash image viewer look different in firefox than in IE...

So I have created a horizontal spry bar that overlaps a flash image viewer slide show. When i load the page in IE everything works fine, but as soon as you open it in firefox it works improperly...you can hit refresh in firefox and sometimes it resizes the image I don't understand how that is possible....if you have any input it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You need to be aware of the limitations of the various browsers and make sure you use web-safe fonts and colors.....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/WebMusic/FontsandColors.html
Do a Command A on all your pages in iWeb to make sure that objects/text boxes are not touching or overlapping.
Firefox has problems with displaying drop shadows/frames etc.
