Flash image viewer, picture scale problem in CS3

Please someone help me. I have built a website 3 years ago, and I still have this problem. In CS3 I added a flash image viewer (slideshow.swf) as a slideshow to show gardens we have made. When you first visit the site and look at the pictures (wich are bigger than the viewer window because of picture quality issues) they don`t shrink to fit into the viewer window, you only end up seeing a fraction of them. But when they download and you go back to see them again a second later, they become the right size. It also swiches to the right size when the loop play gets back to the first pic again.
In the flash element properties I tried the different scale settings, and looked at other settings too but I couldn`t make it work.
I think making the viewer window as large as the pictures, would look odd. Maybe buying on other slideshow program to insert into dreamweaver would work.
If you would like to see the site its: tsugagardens.com , than look in the photo gallery and after the pics download go back with the back button and see the difference in the pics.
Thank you for your efforts,
Tibor

I just googled and found lots of folks with the same problem.  One fellow wrote this as a soluton:
"All you have to do is
remove the values from the imageLinks in the flash element. That
    should fix it."
    Does it?

  • Why does my flash image viewer look different in firefox than in IE...

So I have created a horizontal spry bar that overlaps a flash image viewer slide show. When i load the page in IE everything works fine, but as soon as you open it in firefox it works improperly...you can hit refresh in firefox and sometimes it resizes the image I don't understand how that is possible....if you have any input it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You need to be aware of the limitations of the various browsers and make sure you use web-safe fonts and colors.....
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/WebMusic/FontsandColors.html
Do a Command A on all your pages in iWeb to make sure that objects/text boxes are not touching or overlapping.
Firefox has problems with displaying drop shadows/frames etc.
To get help with specific issues you would need to tell us the URL of our site.

  • Flash Image Viewer

I am creating a page in DW8 and have inserted an instance of
the Flash Image Viewer though despite changing the parameters in
the Tag Inspector and the Flash Element pane to say that the
controls should not be visible - they are and the pictures do not
show when I preview the page in the browser (IE7). I have created
on another page previously in another site where this works
perfectly. Can anyone make any suggestions?
The other odd thing is that when I preview in Opera or
Mozilla Firefox, they work. The same when I publish.

    Please, first make a difference:
Are you trying to display a JPG file or a Flash
    Video/animation ?
When you are designing the web site, you choose which one you
are going to insert on the page: In this sense: is you need to put
a Flash File, go to: Insert / Media / Flash and then choose the
file you are going to insert in DW.
On the other hand, If it's a JPG file you insert in a
different manner: select: Insert / Image , and then choose the JPG
    file.
Rememer that the same path you are giving to the files (JPG
or Flash) is going to be claimed by the server, so create the same
directories containing the same names, in your hard drive and on
    the server.
To finish it, it doesn't matter if you have the Flash
program. You only need the Flash Reader, but it has to be the same
version as the file you are using (it is much better, not totally
    necesary).
Well, hope it will be usefull, best regards

  • How to upload a HTML page with Flash image viewer?

I´ve got a html page with a flash image viewer file inn it. Preview in a browser is ok, but I don´t get it right on the server. Is it something spesial with the swf file?
This is what i have done: I just upload html -page, viewer swf file and the pictures to the same folder. Is this wrong?
Sorry, I really don´t have a clue... Thanks!

Sorry to say, but that is not a webpage -
There is no doctype, no head section, no body section .
    etc. etc.
Nothing would work in that document.
Please generate a properly formed HTML page, and place the scripts and script calls in the proper section and the rest in the body, and let's see what you get

  • My Flash Image viewer won't flush left on Windows

I created a Flash image viewer file in Dreamwever and put it
into a table cell and it seems to go flush left on the Mac, but
flushes right on Windows browsers, I have the cell set to flush
left. Can anyone help me with this?

Okay what I do is this. I want to insert a Flash collection of images, one changing to the other. I go to insert, then Flash then image viewer and the Flash image appears where my cursor is, and then my FLash editor appears on the right hand side, and I drop images into it, using the + key, taking them from the images in the foler for the web site. File size of the images are fine I think, all less than a 100k in size. Whe I press play or preview in the web browser, it just flashes once and is displayed as white . No images appear or anything.. I cannot upload to a live site at the moment unfortunatley. I can make take a photo of the screen if you want so you can see it?? Let me know.

  • Image Viewer Pictures Don't Display

I've attempted to use Image Viewer in DW CS3. Flash element
and pics all stored in same folder within the same site. I've
updated the parameter item to list the pics(.jpg only) I want
displayed. When I press the 'Play' button in DW or preview page in

    solution?

I'm new to this, so by 'page' I assumed you meant the code?

  • Flash Image Viewer captions won't appear entirely

I am trying to insert an image viewer on a page to display
some pictures with captions below each one. When I insert the
images and text with the image viewer's default settings (colors,
text size, etc.) all the text appears. If I change any of the
settings (such as background to black, font color to blue, font
size, etc.), only 10 characters of the text appears for the first
image and the second image's caption doesn't appear at all. I've
resized the image viewer to make it larger and allow for more room
for the caption at the bottom. I've also inserted a smaller image.
I've deleted and recreated the entire object. I've created the
viewer on a different page with and without CSS formatting.
The most bizarre thing to me is that on the exact same page
with the same formatting, I could get the captions to appear in
their entirety. This makes me know it will work. I just don't know
what could have inadvertently changed. Is there some text length
modifier that limits the amount of the caption which will appear? I
have tried to change almost everything that appears for the
viewer's properties and nothing will solve the problem.
Thanks for any help or advice!

I read a site about the image viewer (resources on the web
are limited on this subject). Should I disable the frame border?
Should I ensure the image size matches the image viewer's size?
Even if I make those changes, it doesn't make sense to me how the
captions appear when I leave the viewer's properties at their
default settings and if I change anything (even colors), the
    captions disappear.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Flash image viewer works in preview but not online

    Hi
I followed an online demo on how to get an image slideshow on my webpage using flash. It was using insert media image viewer. It all worked fine, looked great in the preview but when I put everything online I can't see it. Just an empty space were it should be. This is the site where it is
http://www.idoityourself.com.au/ if tried moving the image to different areas in case it didn't like being in a folder within a folder etc but still didnt work. Any ideas??
    thanks

You have not uploaded the Scripts folder to your server which DW generated automatically for you when you inserted the Flash.

  • IPhone to image capture picture orientation problem.

I am having a problem with my iPhone 3G (2.2.1) and pictures. I've seen several other topics about this but none of them address or fix the problem for me (since most of them are from people using other applications like Picasa or iPhoto). Opening up every picture in an image editor and rotating it before syncing back to my iphone is NOT a solution. It's a bandaid.
    Here is the problem.
Take a picture with iPhone. Connect to Mac. Image Capture app launches and I "Download All" to Pictures folder in Home folder. Images are deleted from the iPhone and moved into the Pictures folder. Opening an image from the Pictures folder opens them in the correct orientation in Preview.
iTunes is set to import all pictures from the Pictures folder. Sync iPhone. Images are uploaded to the photo library and all of them are rotated 90 degrees CCW. Turning the phone causes the images to rotate automatically to retain "correct orientation" which is still wrong.
Uploading an image from the phone (to Facebook for example) from the Photo Library results in a rotated image on the server.
None of the suggestions I've seen so far are a "solution". I don't want to open every image I take in iPhoto and rotate it before I sync it back to my Photo Library.
My question is how do I fix this, or prevent it from happening? Alternatively, is this a recognized bug that Apple intends to fix?

This is a useful method to minimize the problem, but it is still not a solution. It is unacceptable that I should have to resort to an extra step using a third party application to get my pictures onto my device, especially considering this problem didn't previously exist.
I am using all Apple tools (iPhone, iMac, image capture, iTunes) because I want to maintain the integrity of the process.
I know this problem is related to EXIF information in the image resulting in an unwanted rotation. IF I open an image in another program, I can clearly see that the image dimensions are listed at 1200x1600 (portrait). Either image capture or iTunes is modifying or removing these values before the image is optimized and added to the Photo Library on the phone, resulting in an orientation mismatch.
I guess I'm going to have to call Apple.

  • Please Help - Flash Image Viewer

I read other posts with the same problem but no solution was
offered, so I try to get some answers this way.
    I have a slide show with 5 images (
    http://www.interweb39.com) .
The size of the image area is defined as 400x300. The images are
400x300. The "place holder" shows that size. But when the slideshow
is played (tested in different browsers) or uploaded to the site,
the images are smaller. There is an area around the images that is
not visible in design mode. I set the IW background to be the same
as my page background, so it is not ugly, but the picture size is
    reduced!
    Thanks for your help
    Marianne

Meanwhile I have used a different software that works.

  • Picture crop problem in CS3

I have to admit that I am a newbie in CS3. Trying to crop a photo, but whenever I move the mouse over the picture, instead of the usual crop symbol, I have a hand. Can't figure out what has changed. I have never had this problem with Photoshop until now.
Any ideas on what's causing this and how I can fix it?

  • Getting image viewer to fill an APDIV

    Please t
ake a look at these links:
    http://www.chuckland.com/doa_art/doa_home2.html
    http://www.chuckland.com/doa_art/doa_home3.html
As is probably clear, I am trying to make the images in the center DIV automatically cycle.
In home 2 I used a FlevOOware extension, Trans slideshow. The problem is that the images don't change at regular intervals. It's not bad, but it's not what I'm shooting for.
In home 3 I used the Flash Image Viewer. The images change perfectly but I can't get the Flash Viewer to fill the DIV . . . I'm using the same images I used in home 2.
Can somebody tell me either A) How to fix the FlevOOware extension or How to make the Flash Vierer fill the screen or an entirely different way to do this.
    Thanks for your help.
    Chuck

    Thanks for the quick answer!
    It does not work.
I can only see a very thin horizontal like. The image gets "compressed" to about 3 pixel and the line is as long as the image is wide (so no vertical sizing as well).
I tried it with WinXP SP3 and IE8.
I tried it with WinXP SP3 and IE6.
I tried it with my own PC via VPN to make sure its no nasty setting to our company desktop and I have only Windows, Office, SAP GUI on it. Nothing else.
Always the same result. As soon as I set the height of the image to 100% I get only a thin horizontal line.
You were able to accomplish. So I tried FireFox portable - and it works!
My lesson learned is that a picture can only be re-sized to a smaller size but not expanded. Thats no problem, I could use a 1600x1200 pixel graphic and then its made smaller.
But we have to use IE because thats the companies standard and SAPs as well.
We have the application running on a NetWeaver 2004s BI 7.0 machine. No EHP1. System got latest patches 3-4 month ago.
I cant believe that the SAP machine is the problem, because FireFox renders the graphik the same as your screenshots show.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Or could it be some kind of customizing/parameter problem within SAP? I have the problem since over 1 year and always thought its just a bug getting solved somewhen by a patch...

  • Flash Image slideshow help

    Hello,
I am trying to make a image slideshow for my companies new website.
I used the Flash Image Viewer plugin from Dreamweaver, but it doesn't contain the transitional effect desired.
Every tutorial I find talks about advancing the images through an interactive control, I just want the images to change by themselves and do a fade transitional effect between images.
Can anyone please point me to a tutorial that has this w/o the intractive buttons?  I have been looking on the internet for hours and can only find tutorials / example w/ the intractve controls.
Thank You for any positive direction in this.

Hmm... no luck so far.  Thank You though for your suggestion.
I am really "green" to flash and was only confused by the template provided by Flash.
All I need to do is have images fade in and out of each other and then repeat over and over.
I know this isn't too hard.  I found a tutorial that showed how, but my Firefox decided to close and I lost the page and haven't been able to find it since.  Tried the history log, but no luck.
I will keep searchin...I know it's out there.
